Update: This company went from a great experience, to the worst experience. My secondary heat…read moresource went out during the winter and I called for a service checkup. After about 15 minutes of work I was told the condenser had to be replaced due to mice chewing the electrical wires. I could understand this. Here is where the issue comes in. The technician first said it would be $3400 to replace. He then went to his truck and came back to tell my wife it would actually be $8,000, but they added a discount so I would Pay $6,000. The total cost of the whole install (condenser unit + 4 wall units) was 12,000. So just to replace the condenser is over half the cost of the initial install. I called to complain and spoke with the service manager. The service manager essentially explained to me that this was accurate because if they did the install today it would be 23,000. So they evidently had a 100% price increase. I then explained the invoice showed the unit itself as 2,000 and then labor as 6,000. He explained to me that was untrue, that due to the new invoice system they have, they can just put numbers anywhere essentially, so I should ignore the invoice. I explained my frustration and how that does not make any sense and I am not paying 6,000 for a condenser and labor. He said he understood and would escalate it higher and I would get a call later that day or the next. It's going on 3 days now and I have not heard back. This company went from one of my top rated to near highway robbery. I cannot reccomend them to anyone at this point, and will need to look into alternatives to get my heat back in the winter.

The guy who answered the phone gave me the voice like he just woke up and or was stoned, didn't want to be bothered, was rude not helpful at all. I just wanted to make sure someone would come out Monday morning but he couldn't be bothered. I will never use them again, would never suggest this company to anyone.

Quoted $1,000 to run 10 feet of propane pipe to my generator (and I am digging the trench for…read morethem!). On the plus side, they have only let me run out of heating propane twice over the last couple of winters, so that's something I guess. They destroyed my Buderus boiler a few years back with improper settings (wrong orifice and pressure set wrong). The boiler sooted up so badly it couldn't be repaired. I guess $100 per foot for a simple copper tube was the last straw.

i cannot say enough bad things about Bantam Fuel. You can't make up some of the things they have…read moredone over the years, and it's on me that I have not (yet) ended things with them. Water in the basement . . ." you need a new hot water heater:" So they quote one that's an exact match for a $600 Home Depot product, for $1,300 for the heater alone. Well that didn't happen. And in fact the hot water heater wasn't even broken. When I asked the sales person whether his unit was the same as the Home Depot unit at half the price, he literally went missing. Hmmm, so now it's time for propane tanks for a generator. So in April they tell me one thing, a month ago it's something else. On the eve of the generator being dropped, it's two different things two hours apart because the building inspector set them straight. it comes down to two things: (1) their sales staff is incompetent (TONS of turnover, for sort of obvious reasons as I feel that these folks have to bait and switch as part of their job description) and (2) they are fairly shamelessly expensive. A $2,800 tank - at retail - for . . wait for it . . . $5,400. The reason? "We're a big company and we have to make money." That's a direct quote. Not to mention they decided that they will dictate terms to the customer. With no knowledge of any of this, when the electrician heard that Bantam Fuel was doing the tank . . his reaction. "Oh no, we do everything we can to avoid them." And, probably the least of it, 15 minutes on hold to speak to anyone. The CSR who finally answered - the only good interaction of the whole thing - apologized. "We're really short staffed". Yeap. And these guys want to do more around your house? Pest control? Plumbing? Most of this work, if what I have heard around is true, is just subbed out to others with a giant markup. You are now forewarned. Do as the pros do, like my electrician. Avoid this company at all costs.

I had this company perform the regular maintenance and cleaning of my two oil burning furnaces and…read moreone oil burning hot water heater on October 22, 2025 at a cost of more than $500. On January 30, 2026 I had an oil tank service company inspect my system where there found a drip coming from one of the oil burners. There was no "active" dripping indicating that it was a very, very slow drip that had soaked the absorption pad placed under the burner by the J.P.Parks service technician three months earlier. After contacting J.P.Parks regarding this, their response was less than satisfactory, blaming me for not regularly inspecting their work for proper performance, and telling me that there would be a $160 charge for them to correct the leak. (See text message screenshots). Apparently, if this company is used, the customer is responsible for assuring the work has been properly performed, and is responsible and liable if it has not. This company also scheduled an oil tank service appointment with me and then blew me off with no explanation in the middle of the worst weeklong cold snap we've had in years. UPDATE: 1/31/26. So I had to have another company come to service the burner to fix the leak. The technician showed me the "gun" which is where oil is atomized for ignition, and is the most important part that needs to be properly cleaned when maintenance is oerformed. The technician states that this piece was not properly serviced three months ago as it is caked with dirt accumulated over a much longer period of time. (See photo)
