Hello all again: Yes I do say you can't beat old school. Most of us when we get up just want a set of HOT EGGS and thin toast as well as bacon , along with hot coffee. Not a heavy well dressed plate. This is the place. When you want good fast breakfast, as well as a genuine hamburger. These people have been here for years. It's extra clean and the service is fast. I worn you though, you will need to get there early in the morning as there is always standing room only. The customers are polite and mindfull of others. It's the best for the south side. read more

I have gone to George Webb for years. The food is cooked after you order unlike a drive-thru. The fries are hot and crispy and I crave the double cheeseburger with extra fried onions. I ate the broccoli cheese soup and it was delicious. My favorite. The service was quick and server was pleasant. I'm disappointed when I can't go because it's closed. This the worst Webb's I have ever been to. We sit down and aren't even acknowledged for 10 minutes. Then our waitress couldn't fathom my low carb request of no bread or hashbrowns. I should have gotten the bread and hasbrowns and then thrown them away outside? I then ordered the breakfast skillet with a brat after they told me it's a $1.25 ala carte per link I get the eggs and they are a disappointing two eggs scrambled with some unmelted American cheese on top. We go to pay and the lady asks me how it was and I was right in the middle of speaking and she continued her convo with a woman at the counter. I guess we will stick to our old local on Howell by the airport. The only bright spot was a mentally challenged girl who was awesome and refilled our drinks. The cook with the shaggy blonde hair needs to be fired because I will stop coming here along with a lot of other people due to how terrible of a cook he is. Undercooked eggs and hash browns then over cooked burger patty. Forgot the cheese on my moms hash browns she asked for and didn't cook her omelette all the way. We've come here multiple times recently and each time he's the cook it's just absolutely disgusting!!! I refuse to eat here when I see him cooking. It has been over 3 times this has happened and I've noticed it was him so I'm begging for a change. This has been one of my favorite places my whole life so I'm extremely disappointed. read more

Wow Beth the manager really did it this time. Ive seen her personal go to the back and tell the cook to make the food with less ingredients then normal. Just because the customer was using a coupon. I have always enjoyed eating at a George Webb restaurant. Many a time was spent there after a bowling evening with other bowling friends. I do have to confess, though, that there was a time when I ordered burgers to go. I was taking them home to share with my husband, but alas, I ate them all before I got home. Hungry, yes. Webbs is and always has been a great place for soup and sandwiches, breakfast, and typical diner food. Have enjoyed going there for over 60 years. I remember my early years having "Two Eggs and Toast for 52 cents ". My friends and I felt so grownup drinking coffee together as teenagers. read more

We eat there quite often. Food is fine. Usually service is also. Never had a problem. They have always had a sign that said please wait to be seated & every time we were told to sit wherever we want. Booths were taken so we went to the tables. Only place open. The server commented to other customers how people ignore the sign. We commented how we never had problems before & were always told to sit wherever. Never did I see a server seat anybody. We sat & decided to leave & told her we won't bother her. I used to love George webs restaurant! But now who ever owns or manages this one has definitely dropped the ball!! Now is just a dingy place that has no management! From the ceiling to the bathrooms specially the men's bathroom is disgusting! I can only imagine how the kitchen looks like! Funny cuz there's plenty of Staff standing around doing nothing! I have many fond memories of late night trips to George Webb's. No matter which location you go to, the food tastes pretty much the same. Most of their menu consists of breakfast foods; however, they also are well known for their burgers (and the promotion that they have every Brewers season. If the Brewers win 12 games in a row, they give away free burgers) and their soup and chili. The food is your typical diner style food. It really does hit the spot, though. My husband and I made a trip to George Webb's recently for dinner when neither one of us felt like cooking. The staff was friendly and chatted with us, and our food was served to us in a timely manner. George Webb's is open 24 hours. You will notice that in every location, they have 2 clocks on the wall. Here's the story behind that: back in 1948, when they first opened, a city ordinance prohibited businesses to be open 24 hours. So George made the announcement that his restaurants were open for 23 hours, 59 minutes and 59 seconds. Seven days a week, including Sundays. The two clocks are set 1 minute apart. This was to demonstrate that the restaurants were closed and reopened every day to comply with the law. I thought that was a very neat piece of history. read more

Maybe you need to have been coming to one of these George Webb's your whole life? We tried it after just moving to franklin from out of state. Food is over priced for what you get, it's all plain and nothing was very satisfying. Very slow service and we were four of the 7 total guest! Just wanted some basic burgers and fries. Worse off, their menu talks about beer battered onion rings, these were anything but expensive frozen in a bag breaded variety. read more

What is there to say about George Webb. It is a Milwaukee area institution. The décor is nothing to jump up and down about. But that's not why one goes to George Webb. This is the place you go, when you want to sit down have a cup of coffee and a bit to eat. The food is made to order, so at times you may experience a longer wait. Their menu focuses a large part on the breakfast food items, but they also offer lunch and dinner items. Another strong point for George Webb is they are open 24 hours. They have done this for many year, even before it was popular or in some cases even legal. As you will notice their two trade mark clock set one minute apart. This Webb's is the way I remember from my childhood. It is family run and the staff really enjoys what they do. The biscuits and gravy are delicious. They butter and toast the biscuits on the grill and then load them with tons of tasty sausage and smooth, black peppered gravy. Yum!! read more

Breakfast here, is normally really good! Don't get me wrong, the QUALITY is GOOD...Unfortunately, though, things like their hash browns and wheat cakes have taken a turn for the worse, as they have been dramatically down-sized, in my eyes. The last two times that I was there, one time I ordered their Double Webb, and the wheat cakes were about only 2/3 the size they used to be. Then, the next time I went in, I ordered breakfast with eggs, bacon, toast, and hash browns, and received such a small amount of hash browns, I about flipped! The worst part, it seems, is that the price keeps going up, but the quantity went down. That doesn't seem fair! read more
