Great service, mediocre food. Fries weren't salted and my hamburger was literally an 1/8" patty on a bun. Not exaggerating here, there's more meat on a McDonald's hamburger. No onion, pickle, tomato or anything in the burger, just the thin patty on a bun. I added salt, pepper, ketchup and mustard myself to make it palatable. The chili wasn't bad. It was nice and hot too. I found the restaurant to be clean, so bonus. I came for dinner, like many of the other patrons, to redeem my free burger coupon. It was an additional 3.99 to add fries and a drink. At $4, it may be a deal, but the normal price is double that and not worth it. And to be totally fair, if I had just stopped in for dinner without my coupon I would have gotten the cheeseburger meal. However, the patty was just as thin and zero toppings on that one as well. And it costs more. Maybe the breakfasts are a better value? Not okay what just happened.... Sat down at a booth for a late lunch with son at 3:30pm today, Friday 12/27. Was told by the young female server that the grill was being cleaned so it would be "a few minutes". Okay, we're not in a hurry so no problem on a few minutes, order a couple sodas, and assume it should still be fairly quick (I'm imagining since the cook can clearly see us sitting there) NOPE The server comes back in 5min to take our order and puts it in... but there's ZERO communication between server and cook, still cleaning the entire kitchen now... to me it clearly looks like cooking is NOT a priority And when I call the server over to ask when he's going to cook our food, she says she doesn't know THEN WHY WOULD YOU TELL US A FEW MINUTES?!?!!? I saw a coupon on the back of a grocery store receipt for the all American breakfast for $5.99 and thought that's what a mediocre fast food restaurant would charge for an underwhelming meal and It's regularly Just under $10 so I stopped. It's take out only and the receipt now has a .48 cents service fee which I assume is the take out fee but its all you can do right now. Take out was ready in 5 minutes which must be a record for me, I called it in and went in and it plopped on the counter just as I walked in. My all American breakfast would be two eggs, hash browns, sausage patties with sourdough toast, basically what they all are but you have choices for the meats and toast. My eggs were perfect sunny side up and tasty with the salt and pepper and that nice runny yoke to break into the hash browns. The hash browns were golden but the semi hard/pasty style so just average. The sausage patties were ok, not the absolute best but tasty and juicy/moist that was not cooked to dry. The sourdough toast was the commercial wonder style, generic but better than white with that little chew and lightly buttered. The bottom line that it's ok at the $5.99 price point coupon but the $10 price point I have much better places around town. read more

I ordered DoorDash from the Hales Corners George Webb location tonight and wound up getting a complete refund from DoorDash customer service. The order arrived ridiculously late (it arrived around 11:30 when I ordered around 10:30 and the DoorDash estimated time was 14-16 minutes for delivery). To add insult to injury the DoorDash driver handed me an OPENED and UNSEALED bag containing two barely lukewarm double cheeseburgers and a small pile of cold fries. It's my understanding all DoorDash orders arrive sealed to ensure the safety of the food inside. The driver was extremely kind, but holy smokes. A half-hour late for cold food (made wrong, BTW, I ordered ketchup, mayo, and mustard on the sandwiches but they were both plain with cheese only). I'll stick with the McDonalds drive-thru where I can get a same-size double cheeseburger for less than $3 instead of an $8.50 cold burger made by George Webb. This is a shame, as I love their breakfasts. I'm hoping this was just a night full of new employees learning their job or good people just having a bad day. I used to love coming to this place until Candice started working there she is the rudest person to all her customers. My wife showed her the coupon we had and she still rang it up like regular for take out. After I notice I called and she said a manager would call me back. No call still 4 days later so I called back. I told her that I didnt get called back and she said she remembers this order like it was yesterday and said my wife never showed her the coupon which is a lie and also said not come back if we didnt like what she did. So, it feels weird to give George Webb's a five star rating but I'm throwing caution to the wind. I went with a friend on a Thursday night at about 11:30 pm. The Bucks had just won game five and people were recovering from partying and that's what you go to GW's Steakhouse to do (Pro Tip: No matter how much you drank and how good you feel, never order the steak and eggs. I've been there and done that in the past and your body will revolt against you for two days or more.) The place was pretty packed and the person out front warned us that he was the only person working. At first, we thought that meant the customer side...we soon found out that this lost Avenger was truly alone - greeting, orders, cooking - ALL OF IT! Truly a service sector hero. So, service was a bit slow but that's what you expect at that hour at GW's Steakhouse. Despite being stressed, we still got some of that classic GW's Steakhouse waiter sass too. This guy went all out with the full experience despite flying solo. The food was good. We both ordered a bowl of chili with pickles on the side and a Super George Combo with coffee (of course). It was classic GW's Steakhouse fare. So, if you're reading this lost Avenger, please know your efforts didn't go unnoticed and I applaud you. For my money, this is the place for high cholesterol, low fiber, American breakfast. Of course my primary care nurse practitioner seems to think this is unhealthy food so visits must be limited to once every couple of months. If you're from somewhere else, George Webb is a local chain. It's as Milwaukee as the Brewers, and more Milwaukee than Coors. If you're familiar with George Webb, than you know what this diner is about, this location is a little cleaner and nicer than most, and less busy. The food was just classic, American food. It is what you would expect to get in Milwaukee. Simply good and cooked very well. The highlight of wandering into this restaurant at 4:00 AM was the lovely Greg! Greg both cooked our meal and entertained us with a smile. Not at all what you would expect out of someone working at 4:00 AM. Taking a shot in the dark and ordering a steak sandwich, typically never boasts good results. However, this was not the case at all and this was one of the best, if not THE best, "low-quality steak sandwiches" that actually left us wanting more after each and every bite! This was definitely not expected, and we are sure that Greg threw some extra love and care into it. All in all, if you are looking to go to this restaurant, look for greg, and order the steak sandwich. Greg is a fantastic human being and clearly a very hard worker. George Webb doesn't pretend to be anything more than what it is: a local institution for inexpensive, plain fare. This particular location is an ok Webb for what it is. The employees are pleasant, the food as expected, but my favorite thing about this location is the wireless -- it's always working. If you go during off hours, you'll not have a problem finding a place to sit, but even during the prime hours, the wait is never really a long one. Because I'm now living in a part of the country that doesn't have a Webb's or anything remotely like it, I find I miss having one around for the late night munchies or early early morning eye openers. My dad used to always rave about George Webb and I had trouble remembering it as a kid. I needed a quick burger and searched for one on my way. Luckily, this one popped up just off the freeway. I ordered a burger and fries to go and it was perfect. Just what I needed. I gobbled down the normal sized burger and split the fries with Reese. I had thought George Webb was more of a drive-thru than a diner type, but thinking about what my dad likes - this makes sense. It's like a Denny's with good food. I'd say if I was really looking for a more filling meal I would go with a double patty, but this was perfect to get me through my drive back to Crystal Lake. The burger is fried, but lacks the greasy and fattiness of McDonald's. It is simple and tasty. The fries were done to perfection - crispy outside and fluffy inside. I prefer the skinnier fries to the fat steak fries so these were great. This was definitely an upgrade from a drive-thru gut buster. read more

This place is weird, first they have 2 clocks, apparently there is a story about them having to close at one point so they did something with the clocks. The employees were climbing on the tables to turn off the neon signs. The reason I knocked off 2 stars is because I asked for no ice and they gave me ice! A good thing to remember is that the bathrooms have haunted/ magic ghost paper towel dispensers that keeps rolling till the paper is 20 feet long. George Webb is your classic diner, and my friend calls it a "staple" in the community. I love how they have a simple, classic diner menu. You can choose from burgers to awesome breakfast classics like skillets, chicken fried steak, pancakes, etc. It's not anything fancy, but it gets the job done. I had the salsa skillet, which was flavorful and came with quite a bit of food. It's cheap too. The service was good overall, we were sitting right at the "bar" (not an alcoholic bar) so we were easy to spot. I like the classic places every once in a while. I sat at the counter and was not greeted or acknowledged for several minutes even though the sever clearly saw me enter and made eye contact, I heard the server dropping F bombs and complaining to the "cook".
