Neighborhood Gem Alert Finally tried the diner my boyfriend's family has been raving about and now I totally get the hype! It's a cozy, family-owned spot with that old-school charm that makes you instantly feel welcome. The portions are huge and super affordable. I ordered a veggie omelette (added cheese and avocado, because... yum), and it was packed with flavor. My partner got the huevos rancheros, and of course I stole a few bites...definitely getting that next time! My plate also came with a side, so I went for the banana pancakes. I only made it through half because I was so full, but they were so good. Overall, this place has great energy, hearty food, and prices that make it easy to become a regular. Bonus: it's walking distance from home.

We've lived in Long Beach for a few years now and are always excited when we learn about another historical spot! George's 50's Diner was the star location in the Hilary Duff film A Cinderella Story, so we had to come check out the hype! We were immediately seated on a Tuesday morning into a snug booth by a very welcoming host, and our waitress was just as kind and hospitable. I opted for their steak and eggs platter which was incredibly flavorful and the perfect size for me! My friend got an egg platter with their home fries, we added extra onions on top which was definitely the move! The ambiance is definitely different than the film, having experienced a fire a few years back, but the history remains. Definitely a must do for the food and the memories! Thank you for the hospitable service!

The food comes out super fast. A true short order cook experience. I am talking about 3-5 min tops. FAST! I got the 54 Kaiser omelette with hash browns and a pancake instead of toast. Prices were extremely reasonable. My hash browns could have been slightly crispier and my pancake could have been slightly fluffier, but all in all great diner food. Whatever was lacking in taste and texture was made up for with charm, ambience, and fast/friendly service. The AC was kicking and felt really good on such a hot day. There are these cool 2-top tables right next to floor-to-ceiling windows with views of Atlantic. There is a long counter and then another area off to the side with booths for larger parties. Awesome natural light for your selfies and foodie pics. A great 50's Diner!

A great little retro diner down in Long Beach. I am working through a list of all diners in LA County and next up on my list was George's. It's a classic Los Angeles throwback diner, which I personally love. They don't have outside seating, but they have plenty of tables inside as well as counter seating. Our server was also extremely polite and everything that we ordered came out as requested and quickly. They have a large parking lot attached with plenty of free spaces so parking will never be an issue. For my first visit I chose the Hamburger Steak & Eggs and really enjoyed all of it. The eggs were cooked exactly as I requested, and the steak was done perfectly. It had a lot of flavor and the portion size was very generous. The coffee was strong and the price was fair so I would definitely recommend to any diner fan or to anyone searching for a great casual spot for breakfast or lunch.

It had been too long since I had been back to George's. I found it better than ever! The place was pretty packed, the food was great, service was wonderful, reasonable prices.

I came here because A Cinderella story. I love that they have their own parking lot which is hard to find in Long Beach. It definitely give 50 vibes. I do wish they had a gift shop section or a movie wall. The owners were super nice and friendly. They were really open to recommendations. I wish they had vegan, vegetarian, and gluten free options. My friend wasn't able to eat any food. I got the 2 pancake platter. It was simple. The pancake needs to be more fluffy. It's like pancakes you can make at home.

    Inside very cute and clean

Have pass by for many years and always have been wanting to try. Well today we finally did. It was ok in my opinion. Whenever in the area we might stop by again. My only negative was that they don't have real butter. So maybe o won't be back lol.

The service is great, place is cute and clean, the food is good! Had the imperial 66 and it was good.

The service wasn't great because the servers or at least who looked to be the manager was very stressed out and projected that onto the customers. Which you never do. Service with a smile. Don't make the customer feel like they're an inconvenience to you. I ordered scrambled eggs it was about two eggs that were scrambled with some mushrooms and spinach. Came with a very small piece of French bread there was processed packaged butter on the side. we asked if they could just make a simple French toast and they said no, only the specialty types that they have on the menu. I didn't understand that? I mean if you are making a specialty type of French toast don't you have to begin with just regular French toast? I asked him if I could get a side of toast for my eggs and they said that they don't have toast only that French bread. What kind of diner doesn't have toast or the capabilities of making toast? It reminded me of a movie scene with Jack Nicholson. Honestly to spend $17 for two eggs a few potatoes a small piece of bread it's just not worth it.

This is probably why most people came in with online/phone orders for pickup and got the heck out of there in a hurry. Fries are okay at best but the onion rings are fantastic! I don't recommend the smash style burger because it's smaller and doesn't come with the fixings, but if that's your thing than by all means enjoy. I got the backyard bbq burger and it was very tasty. Not the best I've ever had but it definitely hits the spot and prices are not bad at all here. If I happen to be in the area again I would definitely be down to phone in my order and pickup for takeout to enjoy the tastiness somewhere I feel a little more comfortable. Staff was also very friendly - when they could be seen at least, but it was one cashier/server with two guys in the kitchen and although it's a small hole in the wall place there is still plenty to do if you're understaffed so I'm not even mad about it. I ordered the ABC omelette with home potatoes and upgraded the bread to a granola pancake for an additional $4. I had been wanting to try their famous granola pancake, so I was happy they allowed the substitution. The portions were generous and easily enough for two people. The ABC omelette was delicious. It had plenty of bacon pieces, just the right amount of cheese, and the avocado on top was fresh and flavorful. I requested the home potatoes well done, and they came out perfectly crispy on the outside and great with ketchup. The star of the meal was definitely the granola pancake. I can see why it's one of their most popular items. It was one of the best pancakes I've ever had. They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.
