    Chocolate chip pancakes
    Anthony T.

I ordered pick up so wasn't expecting nothing fancy , I got 6 pancakes total. The cool thing about it is they had gluten free pancakes! Which is great for my mother. I got 2 GF pancakes , 2 chocolate chip , and 2 banana nut pancakes. They were all good just a bit over cooked on the chocolate chip and banana nut. That's the only reason I'm giving a 3 out of 5. The pancakes were huge which was a plus.

I have been to this Potholder a few times over the years and always pleased with the food and service. They do get busy and often there is a wait, especially on weekends. I went on a weekday (Friday) for a mid-day breakfast, no wait, no crowds, nice and peaceful! On Fridays their special is "Fruity" pancakes/waffles. I was craving sweet and savory so I ordered Blueberry pancakes with a side of sausage. Oh my, I forgot how ginormous their pancakes are, AND served three of them for my order! The sausage were also larger patties and a side order consisted of two patties! Yes, I took half of it all to go, but it made for a great breakfast to dinner that night! The pancakes were thick but cooked just right. Loaded with blueberries and served with maple or boysenberry syrup. The sausage patties were grilled and very tasty. Definitely hit my craving for sweet and savory! I took photos of the menu since all the ones posted were years old. Service, as always, was excellent! Parking, there is a side street with parking and on the other side a decent sized lot. I have never had an issue with parking, even when it has been busy.

Tried this place this morning since my wife was looking to try something different. Make sure you show up at 8am or after since they do not open early. So we arrived before opening and had to wait about 10-15 min for them to open. We sat inside and we ordered the Bacon Cheese Burger with curly fries and a club sandwich with fruit on the side. So the Cheese Burger was surprisingly good for it being a smaller patty. The cheese and bacon did all the heavy lifting making this a perfect burger to try. The curly fries were delicious and no extra oil or grease. I think they might of air fried them. I haven't eaten ketchup in about a month. Idk what it is but their ketchup was just a little too sweet for my liking. The club sandwich was delicious. I would just ask for a little more mayo next time. The fruit I would skip. Idk if you ever get fresh fruit and veggies from friends that grow stuff. I do and they have lots of flavor. Unfortunately the fruit here was just tasteless. So didn't eat much of that. The customer experience was excellent and the staff was friendly and fast for having to do everything by herself to the second person came in. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a small mom and pop and I appreciate that kind of atmosphere.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Will be back

First time here and I must say it is delicious. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The cleanliness and service is excellent.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It was super busy on Sunday morning after church and we had very little wait time. Every thing seemed to flow smoothly . The coffee was hot and the food came out with very little wait time. This place is a must try. The portions are large and very reasonable in pricing. Will definitely return for more.

I had this for breakfast this morning. I am curious as to the amount of each content. I try and count my food and would be nice to know: eggs-are they just scramble without any added milk or butter or anything? -ham how many oz? -sausage, 1 link? or 2 link? oz? -cheese? -bacon? etc. etc. It is a nice hearty omelette for sure. I do not usually have lunch, if I have the Hobo breakfast.

I've eaten here many times over the last few years and have never been disappointed. It's a casual, no frills, home cooked kind of spot. It's one of those you put in your diner rotation. It's difficult to recommend anything because everything I've tried has been good. But I did recently try for the first time the breakfast kebabs and was pleasantly surprised how much I liked it. It has chunks of French toast, sausage, and fruit and served over eggs. (The sausage is a little greasy though.) There is a large patio in the back and some inside seating. It can get busy on the weekends and the parking spaces fill up with all the other businesses around. The service is always friendly and efficient as well

On November 9, 2024, after running some errands, I took my family out for breakfast. I especially wanted my hubby to try this location as I've been here before. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The parking lot was quite crowded, and the restaurant was even more so.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] It made for a wonderful day at the Potholder. We added our names to their waiting list. Within seconds, we were asked if we would prefer to dine outdoors or indoors. We were promptly seated indoors. Within minutes, our beverages were brought to our table. Erika, our server, was very attentive. After we placed our menu orders, we engaged in nostalgic conversations. Erika arrived with our food. I had ordered a patty melt on sourdough bread with curly fries. The carbohydrates were satisfying. A la carte eggs scrambled, two biscuits on the bottom, chicken-fried steak on top, two sunny-side-up eggs, hashbrowns, and two delectable hot chocolates. Erika approached our table and inquired about my husband's meal. He playfully remarked that it was terrible, causing her to halt in her tracks. We all burst into laughter. My patty melt was delectable, bursting with flavor and served on buttered bread. The chicken-fried steak was rated an eight out of ten, but it could have used more gravy. The biggest complaint we had was all the ice that was used in my hubby's Michelada the taste was good, one or two I e cubes would of been perfect besides all the small ice and serving a Michelada in a Bloody Mary cup come on.

Came on a weekday. 5 minute wait. I liked there was an option to sit outside under a covered patio and individual umbrellas. They have weekday specials. Fruity Friday Special- got pancakes w fresh strawberries. Pancakes were nothing extraordinary but very fluffy w fresh strawberries. Grand Prix Omelette with an upgrade of a side of Super Spuds which were both great! I liked how crispy the Spuds were. With the 2 meals+ 2 coffees the bill was close to $50+tip. A local favorite, for sure! Delicious food, decent portions, great selections! And fast, friendly service throughout. When it's busy, be prepared to walk as the parking lot isn't very big.

I ordered one of their seasonal beverages, a tiramisu latte. This latte was pretty much a dessert, and exactly what I needed to fix my morning blues. The only thing that could have elevated this experience would be a side of lady fingers for dipping purposes. The breakfast burrito came packed with crispy potatoes, plus, eggs, bell peppers, chipotle aioli, and cheddar. To be honest, I found this burrito to be lacking. It was about 90% potato and I'm pretty sure the aioli listed on the menu description was non-existent. While the food didn't blow me away, this place truly stands out due to its extra large interior seating area. It feels nearly impossible to find a coffee shop with enough tables in this newly WFH society. Good Time has got us covered, with plenty of seats and outlets for everyone.

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! And let's just be honest, my obsession with chai lattes and almond croissants really needs to be studied:) So, naturally, that's exactly what I ordered. I got a chai latte with almond milk, and it was creamy, frothy, perfectly spiced, and just so good. The almond croissant was every bit as sweet, buttery, and delicious as I remembered. One of the reasons I love Ubuntu Café is the location. It's right by the marina, so you get this beautiful ocean breeze while you sit outside and watch people walking by. It's one of those places where you don't feel rushed to leave. They also offered me a half order of their cheese bread, and I wasn't really sure what to expect, but it ended up being one of my favorite things. It comes with a guava and passion fruit jam, and the sweet jam with the cheesy bread sounds like it shouldn't work... but somehow it absolutely does. The thing that really stood out to me, though, was the service. Everyone was so attentive, friendly, and genuinely helpful. It just made the whole experience even better. Five stars. No notes. Although they were busy, the staff graciously rearranged tables to accommodate our group of 11, including three little ones. Elizabeth was our server, and she was incredible. We shared a wonderful bottle of Prosecco (served in chilled glasses!), and several of us enjoyed beautiful (and delicious!) coffee drinks. The menu was filled with so many tempting options that it was hard to choose. We all ordered something different, and every dish was outstanding. I'm still dreaming about the delicious chicken grain bowl I ordered and can't wait to try recreating it at home! Ubuntu truly lives up to its reputation as the "greatest neighborhood café." Cool, they can make it. what I got was a cup of coffee in a to go cup (even though I was dining in) with milk and a foam, so really what I got was a flat white. the other coffee ordered was a latte which was pretty standard I ordered the chicken sandwich ($12) which comes on a biscuit and a side of fruit, to round it out I also ordered the yogurt bowl which is yogurt and granola. When the sandwich came out it looked rather disappointing. The biscuit itself is small, probably the size of a Pillsbury dough biscuit, and the chicken wasn't much bigger. nothing else on it like a green, coleslaw, sauce, etc. just these two items. However, it did come with a side of a honey butter. the side of fruit was about 8 pieces split between pineapple, melon, and grapes. the whole sandwich was dry, which can be expected from a biscuit, but this was just too dry for me. the yogurt bowl($8) came in a small bowl that had a large flaring, basically the entire dish was large but the bowl portion was small. I eat yogurt everyday and the amount you get is probably half the size of a standard serving of yogurt (170g) and it was sparsely sprinkled with granola. my partner ordered a chorizo burrito ($15) and while she raved about the flavor the size of it was laughable, especially considering there are plenty of spots in LB that serve double or even triple the size of this burrito at or near the same price lastly, and the most disappointing of all, was the cinnamon roll($8). they were on display at the register and figured yeah I want one of those and instead of giving it to me right then and there it was brought with the rest of the food but it was not warmed up, which made me question why I waited for it. It was rool temp, burnt, and hard. I do want to try other items but the price you pay for what you get, especially considering this experience I had, is off putting.
