This diner is located right by Bixby Park. There is no parking lot, but if you come early on a weekday then you won't have trouble finding parking. It has a calm atmosphere and friendly staff. Our waiter spoke both Spanish and English. He checked up on us the whole time and made sure we were comfortable. The prices were a tad high but when the food came it became clear why as the portion sizes are large. The pancakes and French toast were huge and fluffy to perfection! The eggs were good and the bacon was as well. The coffee wasn't good (I'm a coffee lover always on the hunt for great coffee) but I never expect decent coffee in these places so it is forgivable. There is a display case with cakes by the entrance. For one pancake breakfast, a French toast breakfast and a coffee it was 42 dollars. read more

Came here early in the morning for breakfast, having meant to eat here for a while, and I'm happy I did. We were seated near the entrance but asked if we could sit near the rear of the restaurant which was a much nicer vibe. We had previously viewed the menu online, once our waitress came we placed our order. I went for the Pancake combo and my friend had the chicken-fried steak with eggs, our breakfast was cooked to our desired taste. One obvious point is that this is LB and parking is awful everywhere Park Pantry is no exception but worth the visit here. read more

Have been coming to the Park Pantry since the late 1980s/early 1990s and good to see it is still going strong. Lots of customers and the area has grown more vibrant with the nearby park sometimes hosting events like the farmers market. Parking can be a little tough, there is no attached lot, but there is street parking in the surrounding areas. The food is standard American diner fare, nothing extravagant or fancy on the menu, but it's cooked well and makes for a solid breakfast or brunch spot. Add in patio outdoor seating and eat with the cool Long Beach weather. read more

I've had plenty of Cornbeef hash or imitations in my life and this has to be the worst of them all. It wasn't even hash. I'm not even sure if it was cornbeef. It tasted so bad. They seasoned it with a ton of pepper. It was dry. It was just damn horrible. I asked for rice and she didn't bother to mention that it was "Spanish rice" not the same as "rice". It's nice in there. In all my 10+ years of living in LB, I finally had the chance to make my acquaintance with this classy establishment for Saturday brunch. Remember to sign in and note how many in your party. Wait to be seated is not that long and the cakes from Katella Bakery lined in the glass case, will get your appetite going. I chose Eggs Benedict with Hash Browns from the menu, good choice! Busy cute little diner on a corner. It's across from a park and across from a great coffee shop. They can get busy on the weekends, but the wait is never terrible. They offer all of the usual breakfast, lunch, and brunch items, as well as their own specialty dishes. They offer a few different pastries and beer/wine. The food is plentiful with great prices, however they don't season their meats enough. The staff has remained the same for years, so hopefully that speaks highly of management. read more

This is a cute, cozy, and old-school style brunch spot near the beach, a couple of parks, and a residential area. We ordered the belgian waffle with blueberry and banana (it cost $1.99 for each fruit added) and the huevos rancheros, both of which were disappointing. The waffle was on the softer side and the huevos rancheros wasn't proportional in terms of sauces vs. tortilla and chips, which made the dish soggy. Drinks are cheap and made quickly, but tend to be watery and diluted. I'd recommend sticking with a classic mimosa over other flavors. Service was fine and staff are generally friendly. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd eat here again based off this experience unless someone recommended another dish by name. read more

We visited with a friend here this morning and sat on the patio seating and it was a lovely experience. I really enjoyed the food and thought the service was excellent. We ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and a stack of pancakes. Both were really tasty and I was impressed that the bacon was thick cut and all ingredients were mixed well so each bite gave a good flavor. We had our dog with us so we chose to sit on the patio, but it was a bit noisy with the main road Junipero being right there, but the view was nice of the local park and the pedestrians walking through town. It's a weekday, so I'm sure it gets much busier on weekends, but today was a really nice day and the place overall was clean and well taken care of. read more

A solid community staple, The Park Pantry is one of those places you can count on when you need a comforting meal and a friendly server. Especially on New Year's Day, when we visited. I rated this a 3.75 for the quality of the food this time, but this is not to say I won't return. It's my neighborhood, and I enjoy stopping in from time to time. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon which were fine, and exactly what you would expect them to be. The avocado toast that my husband ordered was just not that great. The avocado was just placed on top in globs instead of spread evenly, and the salmon was not the best quality. We ordered vanilla lattes and they were wayyy too sweet, I actually thought they were hot chocolates. But, it's okay. We'll be back. I like any place with friendly staff and neighborhood regulars. Was looking for a nice breakfast when visiting my friend and we decided to order a pick up order from here. I grew up in the area and had never tried Park Pantry so I was excited to give it a go. We both ordered their turkey breakfast sandwhich I chose sourdough and my friend opted for a croissant. I added breakfast potatoes to top it off. Online ordering was simple through yelp rather than their website. We went in to pick up our meals and we're quickly attended to we noticed there were a couple of people dining in and enjoying their breakfast as well. We were not happy with the food it just bland despite how it looked. I was lost disappointed in the breakfast potatoes since it was just cubed potatoes with pepper no usual onions or bell peppers or seasoning. Oddly enough they didn't even taste like potatoes they somehow had a taste of lime? The sandwhich was nothing special maybe it was the bread choice but altogether I had to add some hot sauce and salt to try and make it better. What a gem this place is. I have been coming here for years and the service and quality is so consistent. The pantry burger is one of my favorites and I tend to order it every single time even for breakfast. My wife got the more traditional breakfast with the Denver omelette and the side of pancakes. The food was very fulfilling. We could definitely have split the skillet. My husband ordered the skillet, and I ordered the Ortega scramble. The scramble could have had a little more Ortega chile, and I thought the sauce would be green. It was okay.. it would be nice to see chilaquiles in the menu! Overall, I would try something else. My husband's skillet was pretty hardy and definitely worth splitting. Next time, we may try the French toast. The service was great. They were very friendly and attentive. We walked from our rental down the street to this great restaurant. We were warmly greeted at the door by the nicest server. We chose a table by the window and he had our drinks to us in a flash. I order from this place on Uber eats all the time. So I figured it's time to come in and try the place in person 5 stars for the service. Our waiter was great and extremely fast. He was taking care of at least 9 tables that I could see during prime lunch hour and he was still super attentive 5 stars for the food. I usually order the burrito with shredded beef and their chili on Uber eats and it's always been amazing. Today I went for a burger and fries, an appetizer and I tried some of my friends breakfast sandwich and home fries. It was all awesome. HUGE portions! Which is great In my book 1 star for parking (which isn't the restaurants fault) On their Yelp page it says private parking and street parking (there's no private parking lot. I made a block around the whole building and didn't see any) The ambiance- you can tell this place has its wear and tears. It's always extremely busy. I don't know how old the place is, but the carpet looks extremely old. But our table and silverware/ cups were extremely clean You can tell this place is loved by locals. Everyone was calling the waiter by his name and he was calling some of the people dining here by name. So it's filled with returning customers. Which says a lot I'll continue to always order take out from this place and come for dine in. If I lived nearby I would be here alll the time! After doing a little yoga on the beach we walked over to Park Pantry for a casual brunch for my friend's birthday! It's a breakfast diner type spot with indoor/outdoor seating- we sat outdoors which was quiet and relaxing even being by the street. After about 5 minutes we were seated and ready to get our mimosa on!! A bottle was like $18 okayyyy! All the other prices were just as great- especially for how delicious everything was. My kids both got French toast and ate the entire thing my oldest also got bacon and eggs and ate the entire thing. That's how good they thought it was. Super expensive for stale, low-quality food. Pancakes seemed to be cooked a day before and just reheated in a microwave. Turkey bacon was $5 and was old and chewy. Bagel sandwich was $18. It came to table cold and not assembled. I had to take off cold, wet tomato from the bagel slices and put the cream cheese on, then put together the rest of the sandwich. They literally brought me the ingredients on a plate without preparing it in the kitchen. For $18, I would have at least expected the cream cheese to already be on the pieces, and I would have expected those pieces to be warm and toasted. The lox was fishy smelling. On top of that, they charge a 3% fee if youre using anything other than cash. Lovely staff at the Park Pantry! We got in early so we got seated right away and since we were large group of 8, they swiftly put tables together and got waters all around. Food came out quick. The country fried steak looked amazing but I didn't order that. I got the chicken and waffles and thought the waffles were delicious. The chicken was more of a chicken patty/large chicken nugget. Easy to eat but not comparable to other chicken and waffles I've had before. Their chili cup was hefty! Today was the straw that broke the camels back. I've been a pretty regular customer since the late 80's.. So much so, that the servers recognize me and some even remember my name. I often bring others for breakfast or lunch. Over the years, I've seen the restaurant go through numerous changes. Some good, some not so good (mostly after new ownership) like the unfortunate price hikes and degredation in quality and consistency. Needless to say, I've experienced issues with incorrect food items being served and or lags in service which can hapen anywhere from time to time. Unfortunately today was a bit different. Today I was seated, the server was friendly as usual, coffee arrived in a timely fashion. Minutes later, I placed my order. 1 Denver Omelet no bell peppers with home fried potatoes and wheat toast. My food arrived in a timely fashion but once again, (of late) my order was incorrect or they were simply trying to fool me. Who knows? Perhaps it had something to do with the current egg shortage? You'd think they'd tell the customer. I received what at first glance, appeared to be an omelet (with bell peppers although I ordered it without). Unfortunately, it was more like a scramble (not the type they usually make here) with what could certainly be seen as 1 egg. Nothing really holding any of it together. I mentioned it to my server who insisted it was an omelet and didn't offer any solution. I asked how many eggs they use in an omelet and he stated three. Clearly not three eggs. This sort of thing has happened on a few occasions recently and I usually just suck it up and move on. Today, no deal. Especially at over $20 bucks! I know I could've sent it back and had it done right but why? Especially since this has become a bit of a common theme. I'm done. Great location by the park and a couple blocks from the beach of Broadway and Junipero is this cozy and welcoming restaurant called Park Pantry. Went to eat around 9am on a Saturday morning and didn't have any issues with parking nor getting a table. Beautiful views from inside with their big windows. They also have outdoor seating . I was seated right away and given menus. The booth was clean and there was tableware and napkins and all condiments there for us. There is a small separate menu that has coffee drinks with liquor like Kahlua and there are other drinks written on special board like Bellinis. Besides coffee I also got one.of their vanilla lattes with whip cream and it was amazingly delicious. I wanted to try their French toast. Got it with a side of scrambled eggs and sausage. Food was hot except for the sausage. Cooks and their shortcuts always ruining a perfect thing for the company they work for and the dining experience for the customer. The sausage was cold which makes me wonder about ordering anything else if they can't do something simple right. I asked for cinnamon for my coffee and French toast. Not sure why the French toast doesn't have cinnamon but I fixed it with the side of cinnamon they gave me. The waiter was very kind and attentive. While I was waiting for check, they have machines to check your lottery tickets. They also have a case of cake slices and they look amazing . Will have to come back for just dessert. When you get the bill, you pay for it at the register. They charge 3% on credit cards so that affected my tip unfortunately. They don't give military discounts. read more

The food was solid, just what I was expecting. Wet Chorizo Burrito - 8/10 Everything had great flavor, Make sure you get sour cream and salsa, Chorizo can be a little dry. I've always loved pancakes it's almost ridiculous now much I love them. Doesn't matter the day, time, or location if I'm offered a pancake I will have it. I wasn't quite sure what the The Original Park Pantry was but when I googled breakfast spots it popped up. So I didn't feel like reaching too much so I went ahead and ordered. I was a bit shocked that two pancakes, 4 slices, eggs, and a side of hash browns under $30 and that is with tip. I wasn't a fan of eating there so I got to go. I made it home and started unboxing everything was still hot and ready to eat. I made myself a plate cut the pancakes the way I like, walking to my kitchen table to take a small bite and I say out loud to myself, "Good Pancake." It was light and fully but not dense the whipped butter was a added bonus. The bacon was my favorite which isn't to take away from the great pancake but it was just something about the bacon I loved. It wasn't greasy or overcook it's not even undercooked it was perfect. When you think about how bacon should taste this is how it should taste. Scrambled eggs I can't they used actually real eggs and maybe even some heavy cream cause these eggs where delicious I don't want to call them creamy but they where and even thick at the same time. I can absolutely see why when you google breakfast places this immediately pops it. It deserve the Recognition it gets from the google search. Folks, "Beware" French Toast does not have cinnamon. I don't know where these owners come from but in my country The USA ever since a child 55+ years when Mom used to cook them at home to when I cook them for my kids and every restaurant from coast to Coast, Ocean to Mountains of Tennessee I have NEVER had French Toast without "Cinnamon" I asked the gentleman, perhaps the cook forgot...Nope, No! sir we don't put cinnamon.
