Have been coming to the Park Pantry since the late 1980s/early 1990s and good to see it is still going strong. Lots of customers and the area has grown more vibrant with the nearby park sometimes hosting events like the farmers market. Parking can be a little tough, there is no attached lot, but there is street parking in the surrounding areas. The food is standard American diner fare, nothing extravagant or fancy on the menu, but it's cooked well and makes for a solid breakfast or brunch spot. Add in patio outdoor seating and eat with the cool Long Beach weather.

I've had plenty of Cornbeef hash or imitations in my life and this has to be the worst of them all. It wasn't even hash. I'm not even sure if it was cornbeef. It tasted so bad. They seasoned it with a ton of pepper. It was dry. It was just damn horrible. I asked for rice and she didn't bother to mention that it was "Spanish rice" not the same as "rice". It's nice in there. Homestyle diner vibes. I ate here over a decade ago and it was awesome then. Idk if I'll come back and give them another try. Eat here at your own risk.

Country breakfast for sure and very delicious, really fresh. Betty our waiter was the best, really polite. The restaurant is really clean and the people were really friendly and welcoming. For sure we are coming back

Located I. The heart of Long Beach and near the beach, the owners are family based and they serve up delicious breakfast!!!! No seriously.... I have nothing bad to say about Park pantry. There's a bit of a wait but well worth it .

Breakfast burrito with bacon. It's mostly undercooked unseasoned hashbrowns and eggs. Bacon wasn't done. Didn't stand out as it should.

Very bad breakfast burrito. No flavor, hasbrowns are barely done. Very little meat inside & the bacon wasn't all the way done in a lot of parts. Unfortunate because they were better a few years ago. It's been hard to find a good breakfast burrito close by since Jerry's Place closed.

Busy cute little diner on a corner. It's across from a park and across from a great coffee shop. They can get busy on the weekends, but the wait is never terrible. They offer all of the usual breakfast, lunch, and brunch items, as well as their own specialty dishes. They offer a few different pastries and beer/wine. The food is plentiful with great prices, however they don't season their meats enough. The staff has remained the same for years, so hopefully that speaks highly of management.

This is a cute, cozy, and old-school style brunch spot near the beach, a couple of parks, and a residential area. We ordered the belgian waffle with blueberry and banana (it cost $1.99 for each fruit added) and the huevos rancheros, both of which were disappointing. The waffle was on the softer side and the huevos rancheros wasn't proportional in terms of sauces vs. tortilla and chips, which made the dish soggy. Drinks are cheap and made quickly, but tend to be watery and diluted. I'd recommend sticking with a classic mimosa over other flavors. Service was fine and staff are generally friendly. Overall, I'm not sure if I'd eat here again based off this experience unless someone recommended another dish by name.

Thick cut bacon in my burrito!

We visited with a friend here this morning and sat on the patio seating and it was a lovely experience. I really enjoyed the food and thought the service was excellent. We ordered a bacon breakfast burrito and a stack of pancakes. Both were really tasty and I was impressed that the bacon was thick cut and all ingredients were mixed well so each bite gave a good flavor. We had our dog with us so we chose to sit on the patio, but it was a bit noisy with the main road Junipero being right there, but the view was nice of the local park and the pedestrians walking through town. It's a weekday, so I'm sure it gets much busier on weekends, but today was a really nice day and the place overall was clean and well taken care of.

A solid community staple, The Park Pantry is one of those places you can count on when you need a comforting meal and a friendly server. Especially on New Year's Day, when we visited. I rated this a 3.75 for the quality of the food this time, but this is not to say I won't return. It's my neighborhood, and I enjoy stopping in from time to time. I ordered the blueberry pancakes, eggs, and bacon which were fine, and exactly what you would expect them to be. The avocado toast that my husband ordered was just not that great. The avocado was just placed on top in globs instead of spread evenly, and the salmon was not the best quality. We ordered vanilla lattes and they were wayyy too sweet, I actually thought they were hot chocolates. But, it's okay. We'll be back. I like any place with friendly staff and neighborhood regulars. I'm sure my next visit will have a different rating.

Sourdough turkey breakfast sandwhich with breakfast potatoes

Was looking for a nice breakfast when visiting my friend and we decided to order a pick up order from here. I grew up in the area and had never tried Park Pantry so I was excited to give it a go. We both ordered their turkey breakfast sandwhich I chose sourdough and my friend opted for a croissant. I added breakfast potatoes to top it off. Online ordering was simple through yelp rather than their website. We went in to pick up our meals and we're quickly attended to we noticed there were a couple of people dining in and enjoying their breakfast as well. We were not happy with the food it just bland despite how it looked. I was lost disappointed in the breakfast potatoes since it was just cubed potatoes with pepper no usual onions or bell peppers or seasoning. Oddly enough they didn't even taste like potatoes they somehow had a taste of lime? The sandwhich was nothing special maybe it was the bread choice but altogether I had to add some hot sauce and salt to try and make it better. It was interesting to try this place but maybe we just ordered the wrong stuff.

What a gem this place is. I have been coming here for years and the service and quality is so consistent. The pantry burger is one of my favorites and I tend to order it every single time even for breakfast. My wife got the more traditional breakfast with the Denver omelette and the side of pancakes. This place is like a time capsule, feels like an old school diner. Super close to the beach and a really cool area on Broadway. There's a really cool bar area as well with sports games on the TVs.

Mimosa with bagel and cream cheese.

Pretty much come once a week for my usual breakfast. Mimosa with bagel and cream cheese. Occasionally it's a breakfast sandwich or club sandwich. Great food, always friendly service, and reasonably priced.

Eggs Benedict, biscuits and gravy, lumber jack.

    How late are you open?

I believe they close at 3pm. Irritating they have inaccurate info on Yelp and their site.

What are their real hours right now? They are definitely closing earlier than 10:00 at least some days for what I can tell but I'm not sure the actual hours.

3PM. Dunno why they lie about the hours on Yelp and their site.

Tons of board games, books and wonderfully mellow music helps make the experience feel comforting and inviting. Our drinks were prepared quickly and shouted at the coffee bar for pickup. The presentation was great, but the flavors, out of this world! The Cinnamon Dulce Latte was OUTSTANDING. So good, in fact, that my girlfriend stole it from me! They coated the chicken in a chili rub that gave it a sweet and spicy flavor when paired with their maple syrup. Served on top of a waffle and topped with an egg. I loved it and would probably order again on my next visit. My wife had the American plate which was your classic eggs, bacon, potatoes, and sourdough toast combo. High quality ingredients elevated it beyond your typical diner food. Drinks were great too. I had their house made bloody mary which had a nice kick to it. TLDR; It's expensive, and not worth the routine visit, but worth the one-time stop in to experience the festivities. The Miracle pop-up at The Ordinarie is somehow even more decorated and extravagant than you'd expect from a seasonal pop-up. The line looks long outside, as there are no reservations, but it moves quickly since they hold everybody to a pretty strict 2-hour time limit. The drinks are good, the cups are cute, and everyone is festive. It's an all-around fun experience.  I think because of this, you do pay a premium price tag for food and drinks that are just good or okay. I think it's something that is worth the visit if you've never been and you enjoy getting into the Christmas spirit. I think that outside of the pop-up, The Ordinarie is a fun spot to check out in Long Beach. It't not a pillar of the food scene if you're a tourist, but it is a good, late night spot if you work in the industry nearby. They have a great late-night menu with a killer smash burger.

Training can be a little hectic some times when you're in the service industry and sometimes it can slow service down. Our server Ben was on it. We had the grilled artichoke, chicken piccata, and the cioppino. All very very delightful. During our dining experience I needed to use the restroom. The smell in their bathroom was amazing. Probably one of the best smelling restrooms I had ever. When I was leaving, I politely ask the hostess if she knew what the name of the smell was bc it was so awesome. She wasn't telling me the exact name. She essentially told me the essence. While in the middle of her talking, a female manager aggressively told us that they were not aloud to tell patrons the scent. Hey, I get it, but as a person who was a manager for one of the highest ranking upscale casual dining restaurants, who has worked in 5 star resorts, knowing how to provide kindness to both guests and staff, this manager did not present those skills. This manager was quite frankly disrespectful not only to her staff, but to me. There is a way to handle situations without embarrassing your staff member and making them feel small and showcasing your flex of power to a diner who was about to drop hundreds for a dinner in our volatile economy. This manager did NOT handle this appropriately. Like i said, she was rude, extremely aggressive to respond, and not once smiled and said, "I'm so glad you love it. It's our secret to get you to come back." She did try to say it was a secret, but seriously... with the way she treated her staff.... I think she better focus on hospitality rather than the scent in the bathroom. After this interaction, I actually watched and observed the manager during the remaining time of our dinner. I wanted to see how she interacted with her staff. I wanted to see if she knew how to manage without flexing on her staff bc obviously she doesn't know that words matter and what you say and how you say it can make or break your staff's entire night which can reflect on how they treat their guests. I get this is lengthy over a restroom scent, but as a person who thrives on seeing the beauty in how a management team can make a huge impact on the success of a company, if she's openly rude and aggressive to me and her hostess, how is she with the rest of the staff and guests? Just a little food for thought. I will say, that interaction totally changed my view for the remaining time of our dinner. I truly hope that the female manager who was working last night June 1 reads this and changes the way she handles situations. From what I saw and experienced, she needs to take a step back and regroup. She needs to be retrained on how to treat her staff, how to smile with kindness, and how to kindly make a joke about the scent kindly with laughter rather than an attack on her staff. To the hostess: I'm sorry you had to be treated that way. You were incredibly kind from upon greeting us even to the very end. You're awesome. I'll return back, but I do hope next time, the manager from last night is on a better wave length as the people who help create her position. There are a lot of great managers out there willing to take that place.
