Went for breakfast this morning. Unsatisified. First, the coffee...blech. Burnt and bitter. Three spoons of sugar and I couldn't even taste the sweet. Bacon is oven cooked, which is ok, but it's the cheap bacon, Farmland brand from Restaurant Depot. I'd rather have two or three slices of Boar's Head then 5-6 slices of cheap stuff. My eggs were ok, they're eggs. Potatoes had no flavor. The butter, on cheap toast, looked odd. My daughters (chocolate chip) and husbands (plain) pancakes had no flavor. When chocolate chips have no flavor, there's something wrong or missing. My friends french toast and butter tasted "like the way (his) fathers body shop smelled." The butter also never melted on his food. It was strange, butter should melt. And he said it tasted weird. Servers were friendly, why 2 stars instead of 1, but I'll never return. read more

Worst service ever. To start with the waitress only gave us 1 straw for our drinks and I had to actually get up and ask for another straw because no one checked in on us to see if we needed anything. As for the wait, My fiancé and I waited 32 minutes before getting our food. We ordered 1 cheese omelette and 1 spinach and cheese omelette. We sat and watched as 4 other couples sat and got served within 15 minutes while we waited. Once our food did arrive one omelette was burnt and looked more like scrambled eggs than an omelette. I was so excited to order from this restaurant because it has such outstanding reviews. My husband and I were really in the mood for a good burger and I specifically saw a reviewer thank someone that had recommended this place. There was a picture of a burger along with the review. When we received our order, I wondered what other reviewers had been smoking when they wrote their stellar reviews. The burger was obviously a frozen burger to start and the bun was worse quality than a grocery store bun. It fell apart when I lifted it to add ketchup to the burger. The taste was substandard as well, with the burger leaving a weird aftertaste after taking a bite. The fries were spongy and thin, with no crunch or seasoning whatsoever. This had to have been the single worst burger and fries I have ever had the displeasure to eat in my life. I strongly advise running to literally any other restaurant for a better burger experience. Seated ourselves we where approached and served coffee almost immediately even though the place was fairly busy. waitress was nice, corned beef hash and eggs was DELICIOUS. It's a great local breakfast place. Instead of eating at a chain like a Dunkin Donuts or a McDonalds, support your local businesses that serve home style food that even THEY will eat. Bring cash and stand in line by the front door to wait for a table. Service is fast. Food is good. Prices are very reasonable. I've only eaten breakfast here. Omelets are better than average. Coffee is hot and refills are frequent. Absolutely worth a trip here if you are hungry, not afraid of good old fashioned diner food and don't want to spend a fortune. read more

I am a big fan of George's - for breakfast or dinner. Not fancy, Just good, hot food with large portions. Go early for weekend breakfast , the lines can be long. Love the corned beef hash, love a George's Omelette , love the French toast. For dinner - great burgers, surprisingly good lasagna, a nice homey, comforting meatloaf. Great staff, especially Chrissy and Val who make me feel like family whenever I am there. Challenge: try to find a day and time the Miguel is not working ! It cannot be done. My wife and I decided to have some breakfast in this little hole in the wall spot. My description of this place would be:"this is the filthiest place I have ever eaten in years". As I sat at the counter waiting for my food, I observed the cook handle the food with his dirty finger nailed hands after repeatedly picking his nose. I sat there wondering why is he not utilizing gloves, kitchen tongs or a spatula to move food from the grill to the plates. I have truly put my immune system to the test by consuming this food. I have no one else to blame but myself for not walking out of there. It gets big raves on yelp. I just don't understand. The people that post those great reviews should sit up at the counter so they can count how many times the cook picked his nose and touched his mouth and then handle the food with his dirty hands. It was so disgusting! For those of you have not eaten here before, stay away before you contract a bacterial bug. read more

Great little restaurant for breakfast, lunch or brunch...it's like a diner but a small Mom & Pop establishnent. Usually very busy on Sunday's before & after religious services. It can be slow at times depending on day the week & time of day but we've NEVER had a bad meal. Finally got our chance to try George's and we loved it. Friendly homey place, fast service, reasonably priced and food was on point. The pancakes were delish and so were the home fries. We enjoyed our waitress, she had a big personality and was smiling the whole time we were there. We can tell they have a lot of regulars which made us zone in on this home style atmosphere. Best breakfast in the area hands down, the service is good and friendly, the coffee is a step above usual diner fare, even dare I say slightly better than Dunkin! The prices are more than reasonable with ample portions. My favorite is their French toast, that they make with Texas toast! read more

First and last time we will be going. Children's meals are 8.75! for a hotdog and fries? Really? Chicken finger dish only had 2 and a small amount of fries. My greek salad was ok but I have never seen greek salad dressing that looked like it was made from thousand island dressing. Usually its an olive oil base. Things to know when coming here for the first time: cash only, ATM in the front. Wait in line by the front door for a table to open up (or grab a spot at the counter). They are good at refilling your coffee, and they serve big portions. It's all good, really it is. You cannot go wrong with an omelette special, their home-fries are delicious. All the waitresses are fast and friendly. They recently redid the tables, seats and it looks great! I go back frequently. read more

I looooveeeee this place. Now that Patchogue's on the "up and up' (LMAO YEAH RIGHT) places like this kinda slip under the radar but I secretly hope more people don't find out about this place because it is awesome. The decor is something out of the 80s, it reminds me of Seinfeld, it definitely feels like it's been frozen in time which for some people who are looking for the hippest places probably won't appreciate it. The menu's extensive but you gotta ask them about their specials and their desserts of the day, there are some fun surprises in store for you! I had a canoli cake here one day (I didn't even know canoli cake was a thing!) and it was HEAVEN! I still think about that cake sometimes, DELISH. Their portions are pretty sizable, the staff is really friendly and knows their stuff, just don't be a rude little turd and they will be nice to you in return (manners, duh!). I love this place, I love the weird regulars, I love the weird decor and the bathroom thats like a room within 2 rooms and is super odd, I love places like this, it's a really simple no nonsense joint and I would much rather see places like this with charm and history thrive than more franchises and bars and gastropubs (bleck) tbh we have more than enough of those. read more

Came to this establishment because of reviews on YELP. Let me start by saying that the breakfast was good, plentiful and priced very reasonably. So why am I giving it three stars? Because halfway through the French Toast my husband stops and pulls a 8" long blond hair from his mouth. YUCK! French Toast now pushed off to the side, he shook of the grossed out feeling and continued to eat his eggs and bacon on the other plate. Not more then a minute into it he stops dead and pulls another 8"Blond hair from his mouth. That's it, we are done...check please. So my advice to the cook staff or waitresses. ..TIE UP YOUR HAIR! What started as a delightful breakfast turned into a stomach turning experience, which is too back because the food really was good, plentiful and reasonable. I'm writing this review not to be critical but in hopes "George " sees it and takes measures to eliminate the possibility of this happening again. Most eateries has one chance to make a good impression and obtain a loyal customer.
