Love that they open super early so if you want to slip down in your pjs I'm sure you could. We went around 7am both days and it was pretty empty. - if you're a guest of Holiday Inn Islip, you can add breakfast (look at menu pricing to see if optimal) - Limited breakfast options but all the favs! - kids eat free - they have sausage patty's! Another awesome dinner here at Sonoma Grill! We have yet not to score here. We started with a round of drinks at the bar where the bartender was great. We got to our seats and were blessed with an amazing server tonight, Lindsey!!!! Lindsey was awesome and lots of fun as we were deciding on what to order. Tonight I decided to go with the NY Strip steak at $32.99 +/- the steak was cooked perfectly rate and was delicious. I got this with a side of pasta too. (Don't ask for extra $auce. Get the dollar sign, they charge for that, only negative) We also had a beautiful and delicious plate of nachos. My mother in law got the delicious and awesome lobster ravioli!!!! I've been coming here since before they moved to this location and the motif was sunflowers . Can't say enough good things . The menu is huge , but everything they make is great and the portions are enormous . Shannon behind the bar is terrific and the whole staff in general is really great . We scheduled an appointment to view this restaurant's party room for my daughter's 1st birthday party. The woman coordinating through text was very adamant that we arrive exactly at 6:30, repeatedly asked us to confirm, and mentioned we were her last appointment of the evening. I even left work early to accommodate the scheduled time. We arrived at 6:25 and were told it would be "just a minute." By 6:45, nobody had come to help us, update us, or even offer us a seat while we waited. We were left standing awkwardly near the entrance of the restaurant the entire time rather than being invited to sit in the party area we were there to view. The communication beforehand already felt rude and dismissive, so this experience unfortunately confirmed the lack of professionalism and customer service. It was our first time at Sonoma Grill for hub and I however our dear friends have been there multiple times and highly recommend. Unbeknownst to me we arrived at happy hour, 4pm on a Wednesday. It was a bit quite but by 5pm the bar area was popping. Staff was very welcoming and our server was very sweet. This young lady explained all our discounted options during happy our. A few of us decided on 1/2 price pizzas but 2 of us chose blackened Chicken wraps. I was not impressed with my wrap. Unfortunately very bland and some of the chicken chunks were a little tough. I would not recommend. Pizza was just ok but at least served hot. Martinis and wine were on point! Hot bread, oil and butter were perfect. Sonoma Grill was clean, nicely decorated and cozy ambiance. Lots of free parking and a hop, skip and a jump to expressway. Best part was having a blast with my long-term friends. I was put on by this place by my close friend. Definitely worth the visit. The first experience was with my friend who recommended it. The triangle mozzarella sticks were spot on. Had the perfect cheese pull too and the marinara sauce to add. I got myself the Pasta Monte Carlo. It reminded me of my old first car which was a Monte. That and the description on the menu alone was what made my decision. That dish was amazing and very filling. Such huge servings to which you are still satisfied with the meal and glad you could take some of it back with you to have leftovers. Totally would have that dish again. The second visit was with another friend. Had to get those mozzarella triangles once more and still great. The atmosphere on this second visit was a bit much only because the singer at the place was just a bit too loud for me to talk with my friend. Could've put down his volume a bit. We had one of their price fix menu specials which came with an entree, salad, and dessert. The steak marsala is what I chose. The salad was quite big and fresh tasting. The steak marsala was pretty good, but not as good as my first visit dish. Just of a personal preference. The servings were once again huge. Even for the salad. I was so full, I had to bring the dish and dessert back home. Returned home and had the cannoli dessert dish. That cannoli was amazing. With the serving sizes this place gives at the cost they have it, it's totally worth the money. I've been going to this place for a few years now and it's always been worth it. read more

We decided to use their space for a party. Little did I know how much of a burden it was going to be for the waitress, Kerry. Sorry but absolutely rude to the hosts and the guests. And for a $421 tip to be included for a rude, condescending, overwhelmed waitress was disgusting. Last time we have a party there. The bartender in the restaurant was busy but apologized when my drink came a little late. it was such an exciting celebration for us and her attitude and reaction was poor. Sonoma Grill gives you huge portions! I'm a fan of their wraps -- especially the blackened chicken wrap -- because I get two meals out of them. We held my sister's bridal shower here on August 24th. The party room was beautiful! The decor is rustic and elegant and the addition of our own decorations alongside it really elevated the room. Kerry, our party coordinator, was sensational. She navigated our party with ease, caring, and thoughtfulness. The food was delicious. I've never been to an event where there are enough appetizers, and there were more than enough for everyone to have several servings. I can't recommend this restaurant or Kerry enough. This place was definitely a 3.5, but since I can't do half stars here I decided to round down just because of how terribly slow the service was. When we walked in from the hotel entrance we were directed to go to the front, where 3 more groups entered before anyone even spared us a glance. When we got seated it took awhile, once again, for anyone to approach us so I told the waitress we were ready to order once she asked about drinks. She still made us wait even though she was right there with her notepad open. Then the food took 40 minutes to come out. I'm assuming they were understaffed and weren't prepared for all the people to be staying for a baseball scouting event going on nearby. The food had its moments. The caesar had some really fresh romaine lettuce and not too much dressing. They also used shaved parmesan cheese which is my favorite on salads. The pastas qualities were good and are apparently made with imported noodles--the diana was definitely my favorite. The pink sauce and melted mozzarella cheese had us feeling like we were eating a deconstructed lasagna. The cajun chicken alfredo on the other hand wasn't very spicy, had a pretty runny sauce, and the chicken was a bit dry. We also got to come back for breakfast since we were staying at the adjoined hotel. They didn't have many options but the typical spread was everything I want in a hotel breakfast. It was all made to order: eggs, meat of choice, toast, and potatoes. The woman working was especially kind and gave me a free apple juice! My family and I went on Sunday for 1/2 price wings and 1/2 price pizza like advertised on their app. We ordered chicken parm pizza and grandma which was it of this world! I sat at the bar about 5pm after work. Christina was my bartender, and she told me that there are no happy hour specials. She provided excellent service, but I was one of only eight people seated. People were seated at least six feet apart. Before COVID-19, the service provided by the bartenders was also great despite a usually packed crowd. I ordered the Create Your Own Burger. I created the triple onion cheddar cheese burger: caramelized onions, fried onions, and raw red onions. It was good, but it was overpriced with all the add ons. My check was for $20.85 including the club soda and fries. The fries were just okay. Ketchup did not make them taste better. The restroom has an air-dryer but no paper towels. So I had to use my mask to open the contaminated door. Fortunately, there was a hand sanitizer behind the bar, which the bartender let me use to wipe down my mask. The crowd was lively. You can make friends here. Parking was plentiful The music was good. Most of the songs were from the 70s through the Millineum. I like it here, and I will be back with gloves to open the restroom door. read more

My side was a baked potato, that arrived luke warm, not even the butter could melt. Now for the only HUGE negative. What we believed to be a bus boy. He truly looked homeless, we couldn't believe he was an employee. Completely sloppy and disheveled, long, hairy beard and, long pointed finger nails. My first time ordering from this establishment. I ordered two well-done hamburgers. I was pleased with both burgers. The burger was massive and cooked well. Served with fries and a roll, instead of a traditional burger roll. The staff was super friendly, and the environment inside had positive vibes. The hours at this place are ridiculous at best- closing at 9pm on Fridays and 10pm on Saturdays - especially when there's a convention going on and the hotel is at capacity. I Visited Sonoma Grill On Sat Night since it's close to my house and always pass it by. I Could not believe how Unprofessional the Front is when you walk in. There's 5-6 Workers sitting in booths or just hanging around and talking and wouldn't even Acknoledge us when we walked in . We had to say hello and we got dirty looks s as bad weird stared from staff. Wish I had taken the negative reviews seriously. First they automatically include gratuity which explains why the services was so bad. Food was not cooked all the way through and the eggplant parm was freezer burnt. Server Johnny was horrible, didn't listen and constantly walked away while we were talking to him.
