    Shrimp Parmigiana with pasta

Another awesome dinner here at Sonoma Grill! We have yet not to score here. We started with a round of drinks at the bar where the bartender was great. We got to our seats and were blessed with an amazing server tonight, Lindsey!!!! Lindsey was awesome and lots of fun as we were deciding on what to order. Tonight I decided to go with the NY Strip steak at $32.99 +/- the steak was cooked perfectly rate and was delicious. I got this with a side of pasta too. (Don't ask for extra $auce. Get the dollar sign, they charge for that, only negative) We also had a beautiful and delicious plate of nachos. My mother in law got the delicious and awesome lobster ravioli!!!! My wife ordered the pasta belagio with sun-dried tomatoes! And of course, you can't forget dessert, that brownie Sunday puts you right to sleep!!!!! DELICIOUS!!!!!!

    Awesome friends!

It was our first time at Sonoma Grill for hub and I however our dear friends have been there multiple times and highly recommend. Unbeknownst to me we arrived at happy hour, 4pm on a Wednesday. It was a bit quite but by 5pm the bar area was popping. Staff was very welcoming and our server was very sweet. This young lady explained all our discounted options during happy our. A few of us decided on 1/2 price pizzas but 2 of us chose blackened Chicken wraps. I was not impressed with my wrap. Unfortunately very bland and some of the chicken chunks were a little tough. I would not recommend. Pizza was just ok but at least served hot. Martinis and wine were on point! Hot bread, oil and butter were perfect. Sonoma Grill was clean, nicely decorated and cozy ambiance. Lots of free parking and a hop, skip and a jump to expressway. Best part was having a blast with my long-term friends. Food may have been a little off but I would return again and the happy hour was a good value.

Sonoma Grill gives you huge portions! I'm a fan of their wraps -- especially the blackened chicken wrap -- because I get two meals out of them. The prices are decent (they went up recently), the atmosphere is sports-bar-like, and the service is friendly. It's a local, average spot good for burgers, wraps, pizza, and drinks.

I was invited to a birthday dinner - so I didn't have the traditional dinner experience. We had a buffet dinner which included Ala Vodka pasta, chicken francese, Cesar Salad, and some type of beef all were very good- even though we were in a private room, the restaurant was hopping - a lot of people having a great time

This Eggplant Parmesan and side of very tasty fries!! Huge portions.... Love it!

This place was definitely a 3.5, but since I can't do half stars here I decided to round down just because of how terribly slow the service was. When we walked in from the hotel entrance we were directed to go to the front, where 3 more groups entered before anyone even spared us a glance. When we got seated it took awhile, once again, for anyone to approach us so I told the waitress we were ready to order once she asked about drinks. She still made us wait even though she was right there with her notepad open. Then the food took 40 minutes to come out. I'm assuming they were understaffed and weren't prepared for all the people to be staying for a baseball scouting event going on nearby. The food had its moments. The caesar had some really fresh romaine lettuce and not too much dressing. They also used shaved parmesan cheese which is my favorite on salads. The pastas qualities were good and are apparently made with imported noodles--the diana was definitely my favorite. The pink sauce and melted mozzarella cheese had us feeling like we were eating a deconstructed lasagna. The cajun chicken alfredo on the other hand wasn't very spicy, had a pretty runny sauce, and the chicken was a bit dry. We also got to come back for breakfast since we were staying at the adjoined hotel. They didn't have many options but the typical spread was everything I want in a hotel breakfast. It was all made to order: eggs, meat of choice, toast, and potatoes. The woman working was especially kind and gave me a free apple juice! I think the previous night was just about not being prepared for the rush. I would come back if I stayed at this hotel again.

Sonomas ad for 1/2 price wings and pizza that they wouldn't honor!

Cool spot with a Manhattan vibe "behind" Main Street in Patchogue…read more The reason this is key is because, since they face out to the firehouse and residential areas, parking USUALLY isn't a problem. There's a small lot that's free and you can park on Jennings. (sorry residents). We went on NYE so had to park several blocks away. No biggie. The inside is dark and cool with a city-vibe. Ample bar space and 1-4 tops an some banquet seating that lets you look out over the street. We were greeted right away by what turned out to be our server and seated promptly by the windows (we had a reservation). Also greeted by a gentleman that we think might have been her dad. The young lady hustled all night and managed the crowd well. We never waited too long for her to check in on us and she was very helpful with selecting wine and clarifying menu items. That being said, THIS IS A SMALL PLATES JOINT. People expecting full-sized portions should adjust their expectations accordingly. We did, however, order the Trastavere seafood platter (medium) which came as a tower and seemed impressive. Two types of oysters (large and medium) were presented; briny and fresh and pretty damned tasty. There was also a ceviche and tuna tartare that was, unfortunately, a bit unremarkable, as was the shrimp cocktail (though the shrimps were pretty hefty). The American "black caviar" was a nice way to commemorate the meal. Nutty with a pop of salinity but maybe something you can skip. We meant to order the Carne e Formaggi but got the Gamberetto instead which was fine as it was pretty tasty nonetheless (made with shrimp but it almost tasted like smoked salmon). Virgola Manhattan was good but pretty standard. Follow-up drink of dirty Manhattan was blissfully salty and cold. But back to the menu: we are unsure if they have an actual kitchen back there which would also explain the small plates concept and oyster and chilled fish options. The bruschetta was tasty, as mentioned, but it seems like they cut and toasted the bread and topped it with the crudo. The other bruschetta options featured ingredients from other menu items that could be re-purposed for multiple dishes. Smart but expect this. We plan on returning and trying the charcuterie board (mix and match cheeses and meats) and some cocktails. Overall, a nice night out and a nice option for dining and drinking around Patchogue. Cheers!

We read a recent review where someone proclaimed the owner to be nasty & unfriendly (sure, I am paraphrasing). Those types of reviews are generally emotionally charged and written by plebs I find. More on that toward the end. Pulling up to a rather unassuming east end Long Island small shopping plaza drenched in rain; opening the door, you are taken back to a semi rustic and dim interior. Perfectly elegant in its bucolic charm- with nice lounge music playing. It is a sit where one likes atmosphere. This is meant with the utmost of respect and candour. We were greeted kindly by the proprietoress (Jacqueline), and handed pleasantly robust binders with the wine list and food. Deciding to treat this in the more European café type, we had glasses and charcuterie. I, the Sagrantino, and her the Kerner. Jacqueline was vocally pleased with our interesting choices. The night drew on, more wine ensued, more food, multiple conversations, and I completed reading through each page and wine choice...finding much to be recognised and appreciated (Kirwan, Moric, Georg Breuer to name but a few) At the end of the night, I asked Jacqueline to pick an appropriate nightcap. She not only delivered, but gave us a wonderful story including the provenance and her experiences - ultimately, the word genius came up more than once. To wit, there was nothing here but an exceptional experience with a like-minded wine enthusiast. I felt welcomed and in the frith of old kin. Nasty, belligerent, dullard atmosphere- indeed not. Food we got the pan con jamon, garlic shrimp, patatas bravas, shisito peppers and the plancha burger. The sangria was very good. Juicy, not overloaded with BS fruit and just very flavorful. The bread is like a toasted baguette cut into 4 triangles topped with piquillo salsa, arugula and jamon. Pretty good, I was surpised there wasn't pan con tomato but it was still enjoyable. This is a bit more on the acidic side so if you don't like things too tangy - might not be for you. Patatas bravas, classic with aioli and bravas sauce. Shisito peppers blistered, a bit of finishing salt and lemon. Garlic shrimp was cooked well, personally I'd like a bit more garlic in mine and some bread to mop would be nice but still tasty. Plancha burger was definitely our favorite. It's a blend of wagyu sirloin and chorizo, so it's very juicy with a nice smokiness. Very pleasantly surprised and definitely will be back to try some other things.
