We came on a Tuesday night before Memorial Day for dinner. Provincetown was so quiet that there wasn't even table service yet at George's. We sat inside and were taken care of by the bartender. If you're looking for a fancy, candle stick and white table napkins kind of place, this is NOT it. But they do have wonderful outside patio seating with dreamy water views. We debated sitting on their patio, but it was a little too windy and a storm was rolling in. Inside, we ordered a house salad and a large mushroom pie. I'd recommend skipping the salad. For $11 you get some lettuce, two half cucumbers, two small tomatoes, one green olive and a ranch packet for the dressing. But the pizza here is one of our favorites on the Cape and it never disappoints. The crust is nice and soft and our pie was chock full of mushrooms. Hats off to David, our bartender/server. He kept us laughing about Nantucket all night and we surely will be back next year to this legendary P-town establishment. read more

Ohhhh George's!!! How I love you and how I hate you. Another staple that's been here as long as I can remember (I started my ptown journeys in 1992) it was a classic pizzeria that had the options of grabbing a slice, a drink and sitting outside to absorb the ptown magic. It's changed, I suppose as we all have, over the years. It's tired, in need of a face lift, some paint, pruning, twinkling lights on the patio and some music piped in. For such a great location, water view, reasonably priced food and BANGIN drinks it sells itself short. I hate giving 3 stars, the drinks and patio view are the reasons to hit this spot up now, I suppose. The drinks never disappoint and the staff is always friendly. The sub is a mixed review from me. The roll was soft and super fresh, the veg fillings also fresh but the meat was about 2 slices of each too little. It came across meager. That said, to be fair, I did think it was tasty, I would've like a little "more". The salad was basic served in a to go container with chicken tossed onto it. The chicken seemed packaged to me but I dunno. It was ok. The bloody was SO good that I stayed and had 2! While my wife went to shop. I sat looked at the water and drank my bloody. I wish the vines were cut away for a better view and there was some ambiance to be had. Anything - lights, candles, music. Something to lift the mood up and show the ptown night magic. Great staff and nice atmosphere.. good and drinks were good. Best thing though was attitude of staff members.

Sat on back deck for water view and a drink. The deck could use cleaning and trimming of the vegetation. We ordered 2 drinks at $14 each and an $8 beer. Our bill was $50+. When I showed the waitress and told her it did not make sense, she said our drinks were $40+ and they add an automatic 20% tip. I finally went up to register and asked for the itemized bill. They charged us for a beer that we did not have and gave me $6 in cash even though they charged tax and tip on $6. It was easier to just take my $6 and walk away. read more

STAY AWAY unless you like your pizza with surprise protein this is the spot for you. We usto order multiple pizzas from George's Pizza weekly, so this isn't coming from a random one time customer. Last week our pizza came with a free baked fly in the crust. I called to see if we could get another pizza made and they told me to bring the piece in that had the fly. When i did so they told me they don't have flys and to get the "F" outta here while throwing the box back over the counter at me. All while refusing to give me a refund for it. Service is always great ! Always quick and to the point . The set up is pretty old school cape charm that opens to a patio over looking the water , it's a great break point from shopping. The pizza I always go back for , 1 because it's good ( get it well done ) & 2 they have pizza by the slice which is great when your visiting and don't necessarily want to fill up at your first stop. I've eaten at George's twice and both times service was extremely slow even though it was the off season , and the food just wasn't good. I had a particularly bad encounter with a female staff member who started screeching at people who were waiting for an hour previous on their steps in preparation for the carnival parade . Apparently she was throwing people out to make way for staff and family and then proceeds to slam a chair right behind me almost right on my heel . Completely unprofessional and probably the worst interaction I've ever had. this past Saturday my partner who is of Taiwanese background but an American citizen was subjected to a racist comment from the pizza chef. he was taking two young local kids who helped him with the farmer's market to treat them to a slice of pizza and drink. he bought beverages and ordered two slices of pizza and sat at a table with them. he had a sandwich which he had purchased at another establishment and was going to eat it while they waited but this person said you cannot eat outside food at their table. fair enough, if that's the policy he was going to be respectful and follow the policy but then she added "I'm not sure what they do in your country but we don't allow that here". he and the two boys were startled to hear this and they decided to leave without getting the pizza. he then had to explain to these two young men that this type of behavior is wrong and should not be tolerated. it's really shocking this would happen in Provincetown of all places. read more

Wow! Rudest people ever work here. Came in for pizza- my fiancé went and grabbed pepper and cheese and the waiter (maybe owner?) came over and lambasted him for daring to grab his own cheese and pepper "this is full service!!! Why are you getting your own stuff? If you want to self serve you can!" I explained politely that where we are from you to grab your own hot pepper flakes- I'm sorry" His response was "well I'm very confused! You can just go to the counter if you don't want table service!" I again politely explain that we didn't mean anything by it. He then rudely says "and will this be one bill or two?" And I said "it will be one bill" and his reply was "good because I don't want to hear you debate about it at the end of the meal" Omg lol- is this guy for real? We live in North Carolina now but we are from Massachusetts and here visiting our family from the cape. Being from Mass doesn't mean you have to be an a$$. Shocking behavior. We then ordered pizza (we weren't ready yet but the guy looked like he was going to murder us if we didn't order right then- so we just ordered something randomly. Pizza here is just mediocre; not much flavor. If you're comparing to other places on Commercial, it's a thicker slice than Spiritus, so technically you're getting a bit more food. The person behind the counter was nice enough, but the layout is a bit odd. Seating is up front, so walk through that area...just past the bar and place your order there. My Fiance and I went here for a quick slice before our whale watching tour. We've been here before and I've had mixed experiences. I was pleasantly surprised with the quality of the pizza this year, but not so much the service. Atmosphere: In the past we have been able to outside on the patio to eat with an ocean view, but unfortunately this year when we went in there was a sign that said the patio was closed for repair. Total bummer. Inside dining was also closed because of COVID. The restaurant itself looks like a typical pizza place. It is very dark. Since we didn't have time to research other lunch options, we decided to order to-go and found a bench to picnic on. It ended up being actually kinda fun because we could people watch! Service: It appeared as if the restaurant was following all the appropriate restrictions currently in place. The woman who came to take our order was wearing a mask and started off nice but then got mean. First she brought our pizza to us on paper plates and I nicely asked for a box so we could take it to go. She gave me a little attitude with this but how else were we supposed to take our pizza somewhere else to eat it? When she brought the pizza box over, I had to ask her for plates because she put all the slices in 1 box and we needed another "surface" to eat off of. I apologized like 10 times for asking but she still acted as if I was asking for the world. Thank goodness napkins were readily available and I also didn't have to ask for those... Food: My boyfriend and I both just got 2 slices of cheese pizza each and diet cokes. I was pleasantly suprised with how good the pizza ended up being because if I remember correctly, the last time we had their pizza it wasn't the best. The crust was golden and crispy on the edges (in a good way) - somewhere between thin and thick. There was a decent sauce to cheese ratio and not overly greasy. They were definitely solid slices of cheese pizza. Cost: Each slice was $3.00 and the bottled sodas were $2.50 each, so total meal was $17.00, which isn't bad at all. You can get a 10" or 16" whole pizza starting at $10 and $16 with price increasing for each additional topping. They also have wings, sandwiches, burgers, salads, Italian meals, etc. but I'm not sure how much they costed. I think prices across the board are pretty standard here. I will say my faith in their pizza has been restored. We will probably end up going back next year if we need lunch in P-Town. I am disappointed with the service but times are weird right now and maybe she was having an off day or had just finished dealing with another difficult customer? Who knows. At the end of the day the food is the star of the show! I'd say it's definitely worth giving George's a try if you are looking for a decent slice in P-Town. read more

I was handed a menu on the way to the back patio & sat there until I went to find the waitress to order; she was watching videos on her phone. The pizza arrived, and I had to ask for a plate and silverware. The server passed my table several times, delivering food to the two other tables she had, but never once asked anything about my table. I finally had to find her to ask for the bill; again, she was watching videos on her phone. I left no tip, which she confronted me about. I explained that I left a tip directly related to the service I received. She was then very rude and followed me inside when I asked for a manager. She continued to be extremely rude while I described the circumstances. The bartender mentioned the attitude of this server, so it's obviously a known situation. We simply wanted a Greek pizza & salad for dinner. We sat on the outdoor patio in the back looking at the ocean. The pizza was good along with the salad. Unfortunately with the issues the food industry is having finding people to work. We waited way to long for our pizza and salad. The wait person did a great job keeping us updated on our meal. Being the beginning of the summer and how busy Provincetown gets in the summer. I wish them the best of luck because their food is worth the wait. read more

He kept complaining about our "extremely large order" that consisted of 2 small pizzas, 3 pastas, and 2 salads. I suppose if you have a family to feed consider going somewhere else. I've been coming here for over 30 years as part of my family vacation. The last two years have been disappointing as the quality and service has declined while prices increased. I understand the stress this year due to the virus but it was no excuse as we sat on the patio and were rudely ignored while the wait staff filled the drink orders and gabbed with the few customers that were there walking right by our table as we waited and waited to at least be acknowledged or offered menus ...Nope Three strikes your out George's ...I'm done with your staff's lack of service and fair quality over priced food....plenty of other places to eat at....That goes for my 4 siblings and their families as well.
