    My wife's Lobster Grilled Cheese
    Jason P.

So if you told me, for my first trip to Provincetown, I'd choose to eat lunch at a place specializing in Grilled Cheese, I would have called BS. But due to some places being closed because it was off season, and The Grilled Cheese Gallery's very strong Yelp rating and food pics, that's exactly what we did. The GCG is a very, very small national chain with a location in Provincetown. They have gourmet grilled cheese, Mac, poutine, etc. The GCG has a small, cute inside seating area. A giant inflatable unicorn takes up a lot of the space, but it's fun and off season. LOL. It also seems like they have outside seating when it's warmer. Service was very friendly. I ordered something that looked glorious in online pics. The Night in Amsterdam. It's a grilled cheese made with Swiss, Gruyère, Gouda and Cheddar. Grilled to perfection on artisan white. Then the bread, but not the cheese, is cut diagonally, and the cheese is artfully pulled. The two grilled cheese triangles are then stabbed through a rod at the top of a foot and a half or so metal stand. The pulled cheese dangles from the bread into a cup of tomato soup sitting at the bottom of the stand. One of the best food displays I've seen. The grilled cheese is tasty. The tomato soup was just OK for me. But it's really more about the art, which is super cool. I tried the short rib poutine which was also good. If you can only eat one meal in PTown and all of the restaurants are open, I'm not sure that I would suggest The GCG as your stop. But if you're in the area for a week, or if you have limited options, The GCG would be a very good choice. 4.5 stars

    Classic grilled cheese

We were craving a grilled cheese and couldn't believe when we saw that there was a sign for a place called The Grilled Cheese Gallery. At first I was like wait, like an art gallery? Did someone paint a bunch of different kinds of grilled cheese? Whoever is doing this is messing with our feelings. Thank goodness for us, it was a REAL grilled cheese gallery serving up all different kinds of grilled cheese. From classic to mac and cheese filled (I know, WOW) they have all kinds of grilled cheese. We went with the classic and some fries. I will say, it was a bit on the greasier/heavy side and the fries weren't even cooked they were raw. Other than that, great concept and pretty cool to order a mac and cheese one if you get the chance!

Comfort food heaven Love me a perfectly crafted grilled cheese. And The Grilled Cheese Gallery has em in abundance where they make em gourmet like. A must visit in P-town. The atmosphere is fun and laid-back, with the cool, artsy P-town vibe along with charming outdoor seating. The staff was super friendly and welcoming, making the whole experience even better. We tried... The Asian Cowboy Beef short rib, Swiss, bacon, kimchi, chipotle, multigrain bread My goodness gracious elevated comfort food. Perfectly prepared and presented grilled cheese giving you all sorts of fiery flavor bombs. The Chesterfield Pulled pork, cheddar, hickory bbq, caramelized onion, hearty white bread. Every single bite was nothing shy of pure bliss. If you're ever in P-Town and looking for something unique and delicious, do yourself a favor and check this place out.

Holy cow yummy! This place is tucked behind some buildings down an alley but what they lack in presence they don't in flavor! Sandwiches Mac and soup were delicious and one of the lore affordable options in Ptown. We loved the staff they were so friendly and helpful and there is plenty of seating indoor and outdoor. The public restroom is nearby as well if you need it. I got the BBQ pulled pork grilled cheese is was divine and my wife got the lobster one and loved it too! Would definitely visit again

    The Night In Amsterdam

Loved this place! The food was great and the service was fantastic. Also the music was super fun.

Side of mac and cheese with house salad!!

The country boy & sea salt fries

Was looking for a sandwich shop and this popped up. Genuinely we had the best grilled cheeses of our lives. We had the country boy and the chesterfield. Both were absolutely delish and the soup and bbq sauce were amazing additions or on their own. HIGHLY RECOMMEND

I ordered the classic grilled cheese.

My family and I visited on June 29th 2025. I wasn't even hungry when we stopped, but after seeing my husbands sandwich and smelling the deliciousness I decided I couldn't leave P-town with out having one of their sandwiches. The atmosphere, the customer service the choices! Everything thing about this place is amazing! This will be a "MUST STOP" every time we visit P-Town! And just LOOK at that cheese pull!

    The Chesterfield

Gluten free options are not marked on the menu but gluten free bread is available and the cook knows what is safe and what isn't. I had The Chesterfield which was pulled pork, hickory cheddar, BBQ sauce, and caramelized onions. It came with two dipping sauces. No separate prep area but they understood the difference between preference and allergy/disease. Poutine gravy was not GF.

The loaded steak melt sandwich, with bbq sauce and a smile in the tomato soup dipping sauce.

Walked in and immediately greeted and welcomed by the friendly staff. I chose the loaded steak melt sandwich and a Diet Coke. To say it was delicious hardly does justice to my choice. Served on a nice wooden cutting board plate with bbq sauce and a small dipping sauce of tomato soup - overall presentation was excellent! I highly recommend this place - great food at fair prices!

**EAT HERE(( I mean... Grilled cheese with savory tomato soup dipping sauce??? YES PLEASE! Super nice employees making delicious grilled cheese. We got the GQ which is goat cheese, truffle glaze, prosciutto, spinach, tomatoes on Black Pumpernickel Bread.!!!! OMG WOW! This sandwich is so delicious! The tomato soup, side dipping sauce was seasoned for the Gods! The menu has a wide variety of choices. SO many people were ordering the Mac and Cheese Grilled Cheese but I didnt want to go into a cheese como so I avoided it! However, it looked absolutely amazing. The salads looked good too! We also got the Lavender Lemonade which was a watered down Lemonade that didnt taste like Lavender. Highly recommend eating here!

The deli counter was closed by then but they had a turkey club in the refrigerator. I was hesitant since it was not fresh, but it was delicious. I also picked up bagel and a muffin. After I ate the muffin, I wished I had bought more. The market has a nice selection of wines as well as upscale food and treats. It also has a seating area inside. Parking is along the side which was a little tight, but still convenient. It's the kind of market you might find in a big city, with it's staff and selection of goods. I spent over a week in Cape Cod and the food here and another deli in Provincetown were the best food I had on the Cape, including some fine dining places. Definitely worth your time to stop by.

I felt like the clerk was not listening to me so I double checked with her a few minutes later to make sure the sandwich would have mustard on it she abruptly told me that no it wouldn't have mustard on it because she didn't have mustard put on it- I asked if it could be done? She was incredibly rude, She went back to the kitchen and asked them to put mustard on it a long while later I received the sandwich in a hot tinfoil wrap. I asked her why the sandwich was hot and she told me that all sandwiches in the shop are toasted unless I asked for it not to be toasted. For context my friend got an Italian and it was correct and NOT toasted.... And again, she was incredibly rude. She eventually offered to redo the sandwich which I was hesitant to agree to, but I did. Another long while later she came back out, basically threw the sandwich at me -still in the tinfoil -when I open the sandwich, I found a Canadian bacon egg sandwich on a hamburger roll with mustard! The bun was wet. I'm not sure what the hell is going on at this place but she and the other person working there were incredibly rude, short and to be honest, completely obnoxious about our whole experience I ended up walking out, told them the sandwiches wrong again and they had no response. I will never go back there, and I will tell everyone about my experience there. I will say the iced coffee was good, but not worth returning for considering all the rest of the stuff that happened.

Next, we shared the Cape Cod Fish Fry and it was perfect. The fish was fresh and the batter was crisp but not greasy. It was possibly the best mixed fried seafood plate I've had so far. EXTREMELY DISTURBING EXPERIENCE WITH THE WAITER!…read more This took place around 9:00 PM on Thursday, June 4. Our group consisted of three couples dining together. At the end of the meal, we asked if the bill could be split into thirds. Our waiter, Martin P., told us that he would not split the check and instead instructed us to write down exactly what each person ordered so that he could charge us separately. Although no other restaurant we visited in Provincetown required us to do this, we followed his instructions and listed our individual items. When Martin returned, he was visibly upset and stated that our payments were approximately $70 short. There was confusion because our group was trying to determine who had already paid, who had not, and whether something had been missed in the calculations. I even asked whether we were expected to calculate individual tax amounts ourselves, as no one knew what tax would be for each separate charge. Rather than calmly helping us resolve the discrepancy, Martin began yelling at our group. At one point he stated, "If I don't get $70, I am going to charge one of the credit cards that I have." This immediately concerned us. We were not refusing to pay. We were actively trying to understand where the discrepancy occurred and make sure the restaurant received the full amount owed. To resolve the issue, one of my friends and I went with Martin into a back room to review the charges. After reviewing everything, my friend agreed to pay the remaining balance immediately. The payment was processed and the bill was fully paid. At that point I was trying to calm the situation and bring it to a close. Instead, Martin became even more agitated and began yelling profanities at us. He shouted, "Get the f*** out of my restaurant! It's people like you why we don't split checks! You all need to get the f*** out now!" Other people started noticing this go down. We were stunned. The bill had been paid. Nobody was attempting to leave without paying. We were simply trying to resolve a billing issue after following the waiter's instructions. As we were leaving, my wife later told me that Martin placed his HAND ON HER BACK and guided her toward the exit. While it was not forceful, it felt unnecessary and added to an already hostile and intimidating experience. What happened next is why I ultimately decided to write this review. A few days later, while walking through Provincetown looking for a place to have lunch, our group passed The Mayflower Food & Drink and noticed Martin working there. When he saw us, he deliberately tapped on the glass to get our attention. After making eye contact, he made a hand gesture across his neck and pointed for us to leave and keep walking. The original incident had already ended. The bill had been paid. Yet days later he still felt the need to single out our group and signal that we were unwelcome. Had this simply been confusion over a split check, I would not be writing this review. Billing mistakes happen. What I cannot overlook is being threatened with unauthorized credit card charges, being screamed at with profanity while attempting to resolve the issue, being ordered out after the bill had been paid, Martin touching my wife, and then encountering the same employee days later making a gesture directed at our group from another restaurant. This experience was troubling enough that I believe others should be aware of it.

We've never had a bad meal here....everything is always great; food, service, drinks are all terrific. Usually, I'll have one of their signature cocktails (although this year I just had ginger ale) and cheesy garlic bread is always a must. I have been in a rut the past few years ordering the chicken parm but it's soooo good and also the portion is gigantic so I take half of it home for lunch the next day. The desserts are always a treat. This year we had the chocolate bomb, key lime pie and turtle cheesecake. They were all winners but the turtle cheesecake took the gold medal. He directed us to the host who sat us outside on the new patio. Lovely ambiance btw. Chadwick was our server and promptly took our order. Once the food arrived he checked in with us. He was personable and always had a smile on his face. The food was as always, amazing. Cheesy bread, wings, eggplant and chicken parmigiana. It was too good and Chadwick added to the goodness. Request him when you eat here. The only complaint we have for Liz is now we have to do an extra day of cardio. Also, at the end of the dining experience, a neighboring table left to smoke cigarettes on Bradford Street right in front of the patio. Liz, the owner, thought they left bags behind and went to remind them. Liz asked them to please not smoke in that area and they turned high, bitchy queen on her. Just a suggestion, if you smoke, wait until you're done with dinner and far away from the restaurant. And for God's sake don't abuse the owner because she is enforcing a policy for the comfort of other diners. No one likes smoke blowing in their face when they're eating a good meal or a nasty, queen complaining because they've had something pointed out to them. Have some respect.
