So if you told me, for my first trip to Provincetown, I'd choose to eat lunch at a place specializing in Grilled Cheese, I would have called BS. But due to some places being closed because it was off season, and The Grilled Cheese Gallery's very strong Yelp rating and food pics, that's exactly what we did. The GCG is a very, very small national chain with a location in Provincetown. They have gourmet grilled cheese, Mac, poutine, etc. The GCG has a small, cute inside seating area. A giant inflatable unicorn takes up a lot of the space, but it's fun and off season. LOL. It also seems like they have outside seating when it's warmer. Service was very friendly. I ordered something that looked glorious in online pics. The Night in Amsterdam. It's a grilled cheese made with Swiss, Gruyère, Gouda and Cheddar. Grilled to perfection on artisan white. Then the bread, but not the cheese, is cut diagonally, and the cheese is artfully pulled. The two grilled cheese triangles are then stabbed through a rod at the top of a foot and a half or so metal stand. The pulled cheese dangles from the bread into a cup of tomato soup sitting at the bottom of the stand. One of the best food displays I've seen. The grilled cheese is tasty. The tomato soup was just OK for me. But it's really more about the art, which is super cool. I tried the short rib poutine which was also good. If you can only eat one meal in PTown and all of the restaurants are open, I'm not sure that I would suggest The GCG as your stop. But if you're in the area for a week, or if you have limited options, The GCG would be a very good choice. 4.5 stars read more

What a great find! I happened to pass by and saw a tantalizing menu with poutine's! My favorite! I ordered a classic poutine with cheese curds and gravy. I sat and waited a few minutes. It was made to order so I was willing to wait! Everyone is extremely nice, funny, and they sing as they work. I took the poutine to go, and had to open it in the car! With so many choices in P-Town, one might wonder, "why grilled cheese?" Simple answer: IT'S THE BEST!! And you can't eat fish every night... We shared the Chesterfield (pulled pork) and the Night in Amsterdam (a dripping mix of incredible cheeses) on sourdough, and a side of fries. Everything was cooked and seasoned absolutely perfectly. A little cup of tomato soup accompanies, as it should, as well as a balsamic glaze and some chipotle mayo. It was plenty of food for two people, and walking out of any restaurant for under $30 is exceptional in this town. They have both indoor and outdoor seating and a magical pink unicorn theme to keeps things light and happy. You order at the counter and the handsome gentlemen bring you the food. The service is top-notch and the owners/worker-bees are happy to chat. They also run a place in Palm Beach, so this year they'll close up shop on 10/31 for the season. BETTER GET THERE QUICK! Next time we'll definitely splurge on the Lobster Grilled Cheese, and one (or more) of the Mac N Cheese Grilled Cheeses. Yes, that's a lot of cheese. And it's awesome.
