Solid cafe! Quick service, you can sit and eat in the AC, no frills little sandwich place. The caprese panini was good but the Reuben was excellent! A smaller Reuben with better proportions instead of an overstuffed deli style sandwich. Would definitely come back!

I always wanted to try this place as I see it going into work. After trying it, here is what I think. One of the worst banh mi I have ever had. The veggies were way too sour. The porchetta was too tough to chew. Nothing in this sandwich really complimented each other. The service was great, but the food can use a bit of help.

Fusion and Primavera Salad with smoked salmon

Great quick lunch option in Georgetown, and near the Georgetown University campus. I got myself a combo with a fusion panini and a primavera salad with smoked salmon ($15 for pickup through Grubhub). The panini was good and I liked the combination of flavors. The salad was good, but nothing to rave about. There were two slices/pieces of tomatoes and mozzarella. There's a few tables for indoor seating. The place itself was clean and the workers are nice.

Breakfast at Tiffany's on an everything bagel

I had an event at Georgetown and wanted to grab a quick lunch before going over. This spot got good reviews and was right off campus. Perfect. I walked in and was immediately greeted. The menu on the wall includes all day lunch options, paninis, sandwiches, and salads. I was debating between a sandwich or bagel. I chose Breakfast at Tiffany's on an everything bagel (originally a wrap). I took a spot and enjoyed the cute vibes. The bagel arrived and looks amazing. The egg didn't have salt, but there are shakers on the table. The lox added a delicious balance to the egg, avocado, and tomato. It was quite enjoyable and I was satisfied well after lunch. Quick and cute spot. They also have Ritual if you use it!

    Caprese Melt Panini

I went here for a late lunch on Saturday while no one else was in the shop. I was very hungry and ordered the California Panini and the Caprese Melt Panini. The good reviews had me excited, and looking through the menu I had a hard time deciding what I wanted because it all sounded so good. That excitement quickly turned to disappointment. The Caprese panini was 95% bread. As my picture shows, there was almost no mozzarella (I would generously estimate two inch by one inch, and very thin), and barely more than one thin slice of tomato. The whole panini was bread and pesto spread. I threw it away after a few bites. The California was slightly better, it at least had some toppings covering the whole piece of bread. But the avocado was as hard as a rock, and with about as much flavor. I was very bummed out. $25 for one half decent panini wasn't my idea of a good lunch.

    Porco sandwich

Sandwich was a bit too greasy and fatty for me. Needed a sauce or something to lighten it up.

    Napoli

I was looking for a great sandwich shop in the Georgetown area and I found exactly what I was looking for at Georgetown Gourmet. The staff was extremely friendly and made it feel like the sandwich was made by a family member. They even gave me the WiFi password when they noticed I was doing some work on my laptop. The Napoli was delicious and I was even happier when my meal came with a side of chips. The ingredients were extremely fresh and the crisp of the bread made every bite extremely balanced. I would recommend this spot to anyone looking for a great sandwich or panini in the Georgetown neighborhood.

Came over there today. Worst meal ever. Sandwich meat is very fatty, greasy. Don't attend.

Then the clouds part (metaphorically) and this woman, this angel on Earth suggests you actually try So's Your Mom. She raves about it. It all makes sense to you. Andy's has got enough money. Those stores are popping up like wildfire to hell with that. I'm going to So's Your Mom. It's my kind of place too. Nondescript, mom and pop type of place. Been there for decades. No flashy gimmicks just reliable sandwiches and apparently coffee based on their decor (But I'm here for lunch!). The guy at the counter is friendly, he's a talker, he's got recommendations. I don't need them but I ask for all of em Hit me pal! I ignore all of them and get a turkey avocado BLT situation. FANTASTIC. And somehow the bag of indie potato chips is criminally underpriced. He doesn't know they're charging like $3.50 a pop for these down at Adams, Morgan, Ace and other places around the city. Maybe they're going to know it when they read this review and if prices go up I'm sorry but also these greedy DC landlords are wrenching rent prices everywhere and So's your mom has to pay the bills! Anyway it's worth every penny and I can't wait to go back. Wish I lived in AdMo

The signs outside advertising bagels got our attention. This establishment is cash only, so bring cash or hit the ATM before you come. The prices are incredibly reasonable, though, and probably less overhead/swipe fees. The whitefish and lox spread bagel was wonderful for only $5. It is not a huge bagel but the perfect size for breakfast. Personally, I'd rather not have any leftovers since I'm traveling and our room didn't have a mini-fridge or microwave anyway. You wait for your food for awhile, but we found some nice locals to chat with and they recommended a few other spots to us. There's no seating so you must take your food to go. It's too bad we found this spot on our last day in DC, but it will be our go-to if we stay at the Washington Hilton again.

She seemed to act as though our simple questions about what to order and what's popular in the menu was an inconvenience to her, although we indicated it was our first time at the restaurant. We ordered our food with the host/cashier and waited at our table for the food to be delivered. My companion's food was delivered and the server asked us if there was anything else. I said my food hadn't come and she asked me what I ordered. I told her it was the Greek goddess. I had to wait quite a long time for my meal to arrive and when it did, the server placed the plate on the table, grabbed the table number and walked away.No apology for the extended wait, no, "enjoy your meal." It was quite rude. The Greek goddess was pretty bland and my friend's soup was boring. The Falafel pita was ok. We have lots of options for lunch in Washington DC. I will not return to this establishment, ever.

I found 2 Sisters Deli on Yelp and it was within walking distance from where we were. There was a line, but it went quickly. All the ladies are super friendly. There's a decent amount of seating inside, none available outside. They don't have water available for your own water bottles, but they have fountain drinks and other bottled beverages. The cashier told us to go find a place to sit and they'd bring our food to us, but all the tables were packed! When she saw us standing there, she asked if there was any seating available and we told her no. She then took our food from the tray there were going to serve it on and nicely packaged it up for us to take to go. She told us there was a Holiday Inn next door with a courtyard, tables and chairs and places to charge our phones. So we went there! The sandwiches are a very generous size. My daughter got a Brooklyn sandwich which is roast beef, banana peppers, American cheese and thousand island dressing. I got a "build your own" sandwich with roast beef, lettuce, tomato, red onion, bacon, mayo and mustard. I couldn't eat all of mine, but my daughter devoured hers! We both really enjoyed our sandwiches!

Unfortunately, this location didn't hold up. The ordering process was a mess from the start. They were out of boneless chicken, so we pivoted to a half chicken... only to be told they were out of that too. Then it turned out they did have it. We ordered the hummus appetizer and got the side portion instead, which meant another trip to the counter to sort it out. We ordered medium peri peri sauce and got something noticeably spicier. Too tired and hungry to send it back, we just ate it... and the meal just didn't hit the way Nando's usually does. The mushy peas we'd been looking forward to aren't even on the menu anymore, which was its own small disappointment. On the bright side, I ordered a 5 oz glass of wine and got what looked like a double pour. Not complaining... but it does sum up the vibe. The staff seemed indifferent, whether it was end-of-night fatigue or just an off-night, hard to say. We'll probably give Nando's another shot elsewhere, but this DC visit was disappointing enough that I can't really recommend this location.
