After calling many automobile service centers, looking to get a new exhaust system installed, we decided to go with Georgetown, muffler and automotive because they seemed easiest to work with and the most qualified. Instead of just quoting us a price, they had us come in with the vehicle and the auto exhaust system And made a real analysis of what would be needed and how much would be charged. Upon arrival the next day, all promises were kept, and the exhaust system was professionally and beautifully installed on our lovely Mazda Miata. I will be going to this business again in the future for all my automotive needs. I trust them. They could've easily taken advantage of me and they did not. They have integrity and they are honest. Had spark plugs replaced here after a misfire code. The car initially ran better, but the check engine light came back on shortly after. I called and politely asked to bring it back in to be looked at, and was told they would not take it back. I'm not disputing the original work, but I was surprised there was no willingness to recheck the vehicle after a recent repair. I would have expected a more professional response. Due to this and communication issues, I cannot recommend this shop. read more

I went to Georgetown muffler to get my brakes repaired. I was told it was $130 for Just diagnostics only even though I specified that I needed my brakes fixed. I received a quote after the diagnostics that was very high in comparison to other garages in the area. When I picked up my car after deciding that I would go somewhere different, my bill came to $150. I was charged a hazardous waste fee because of the brake dust that my car left in the garage. I feel I was taken advantage of And would not recommend this location for any car repair for anyone in the future. read more

Dave was amazing and got me in next day for a diagnostic and was able to also repair my car the following day by replacing the catalytic converter. I went to have an exuast leak checked out. and was told I needed to schedule it. the service manager decided it might be an easy fix, so decided to have it checked out. turns out the problem was just a treaded hole just needed a plug. so instead of saying it needed extensive repair, like most shops would have done. The service manager told me how to fix it and even gave me the plug to fix it with. they now have my business for life!!!! so if you want an honest repair shop I highly recommend them!!!! read more

We took our truck to the shop based on our regular mechanic telling us what was wrong with it because we don't know we took it to the shop told him what our mechanic said they went ahead and we spent over $1000 for them fixing the problem based on what our mechanic said they didn't do any diagnostics Excuse me we are not car mechanics. We were just sharing with them what our mechanic told us so rather than take the initiative and make sure that it was diagnosed correctly. We spent all this money for them to fix it and it didn't fix the problem so when we took it back, they said sure we'll take a look at it for another 150 bucks to hook it up to the diagnostic machine which they should've done initially but they didn't so after spending all that money they didn't stand behind their work. It didn't fix the problem. We are retired on a limited income. Don't have this kind of money to throw away if if you do by all means use this place they got high reviews so maybe we were a fluke, but I will never use the shop and I will never recommend this shop because they wouldn't take the time to fix the problem. They basically said there's nothing we can do about it unless you're gonna pay us more money so if this kind of people you wanna deal with and by the way, it would take us days to get a hold of them because they're so busy great for them not for us. I've never done reviews before I did this review and I did the review on the original mechanic because neither one of them would stand behind us after we spent thousands of dollars auto mechanics always get a bad rap so when we find a good one or what we think is a good one. This company did work on my vehicle. Months later the part started to fail. I spoke with Dave on the warranty process. He would not let me schedule an hour appointment so they could do their diagnoses process (which they charge me for even if it's their faulty part). I expressed I can't be without my vehicle (multiple kids in school/sports) and asked again if I could schedule an appointment, and Dave would not work with me at all. Yelp comes through again! Had to replace my catalytic converters on the truck and the dealership wanted 5k to do it. So I bought after market cats for 800.00 and worked to install them myself. After getting the old Ypipe and cats off I proceeded to install the new ones. I soon realized that the new cats were not to spec and did not fit correctly. They needed to be adjusted(cut) and welded to the correct angle. Called Georgetown and Muffler and they were happy to look at it and quoted me a fair price of 175.00. That was awesome and they cut and welded it to the correct angles to get it to work. Guys are super friendly and helpful... highly recommended ! read more

The only place I let work on my truck I really trust the people there they're definitely or busy sometimes hard to get in but well worth the wait. They've always fixed my issues I've had small stuff like an oil change inspection as well as major stuff like a new motor and new rear end Shane and David awesome people I'll love their staff super friendly they don't waste your time and they get stuff done so if you're in there you'll know that they stay busy and they're getting people back on the road safely I love this place I will never use another mechanic shop as long as they're opening turning wrenches the mechanic I use there is Kevin and he's fantastic he's fast super experienced he does really amazing work and if he's talking you should totally listen to him he knows what the hell he's talking about. I'm new to Georgetown, so I was really hopeful when I saw all the great reviews. However, I think that $50 for a regular oil change is a bit steep -heck, my dealership only charges $30! So I was a bit surprised at the cost since others had mentioned how reasonable they were. My fault for not asking up-front. They may be more reasonable for other services, but I couldn't say. The main thing that got me was the fact that NO ONE was wearing masks! That said, they were all very friendly and polite, and got the job done quickly. I might try them again for actual repair work, but I think I'll go elsewhere for my oil changes. read more

I had them do some minor exhaust work on my son's truck, muffler delete and exhaust tip. All went well until the "weld/2tacks" broke and the tip was dangling, only thing holding was the hanger. I called to see if they could repair and they were busy. I stopped by to make an appointment to have it repaired but asked that they at least remove so it wouldn't fall off while driving. They said I could wait. I waited an hour without as much as a look. When I asked to see if they could at least look they were less than willing. I mentioned that there were only two small tack welds and had they done a thorough job in the first place, we would not be in this situation. Shop manager said and I quote "two tacks is all you get here". Needless to say if two tacks are all they do then I would be sure you inspect their work. Ended up welding it myself and it won't be falling off anytime soon. read more

I told them I wanted to keep the oem muffler and aftermarket box, I was watching them cut the old muffler out and I noticed them just throw it on the floor like nothing and then just shove it my truck bed, seeing it didn't have a bed liner, they scratched up my truck bed, didn't even have the fucking courtesy to say they were, I would not recommend this place every unprofessional, main goal is not fuck up the customers car more while working on it and that's what they did! 0 stars read more
