It's a retailer and variety store chain that specializes in household and consumer goods including cosmetics, stationery, toys, and kitchenware that was founded in 2011 in China and has expanded in 100 countries worldwide. Their stores are in 20 US states, with multiple locations in California. Miniso recently had a soft opening in Hillcrest area of San Diego inside the HUB plaza with plenty of free parking. Their website self described as: 'MINISO is based on three core principles: -Affordable high quality: guides our decisions from design to materials. -Joy: the response our customers experience while in our stores. -Lighthearted: the relaxed and happy feeling when encountering the large variety of goods available.' The shop has collaborated with various brands: Barbie, Disney, Sanrio, Harry Potter, Hello Kitty, Minions and others. Every isle has shelves of useful, funny and cool stuff! Some items are necessities and some are for play and fun. This shop offers lots of things I was interested in purchasing for gifting and also to keep for myself. There was a staffer who was helpful, friendly and nice. Overall, it was clean and organized as expected for a new shop. There were items for babies, kids, adults and pets. My pup Fendi and so had fun walking down each isle with wonder and amazement. A wonderful visit, will return and Recommend!

CHEAP TINY KNICKNACK THRILLS…read more I hope they don't get offended when I say this but it gave me (Chinese version) Diaso vibes tailoring to a very young crowd OR adults who like themed toys that brings back nostalgia. This place has a focus on random toys, some kid cosmetics and beauty, and a snack section. Oddly, easy to miss even when located in the center of Hillcrest's Hub. Walking around brought smiles seeing scanrio, care bear, and other things I use to be into as a child. Easy to buy something because prices were cheap. I settled for some Asian snacks that I thought were unique and fun and haven't tried or not seen at an Asian stores at convoy. Cool spot. Not sure if Hillcrest Hub is the right location for this shop but it brought in curious minds and a very small handful of people.

The store varies from items, such as stuffed animals, games, stocking, stuffers, calendars, and even gifts for the little prankster in your family. The gentleman associate working at the front counter, was very patient and nice while I was in there, shopping with for a little children, and checked us out very promptly. The gentleman also asked if there was anything else he could do to assist us or help us find any particular gift. This was the first time I had been in to such a store like this and I was very impressed with the amazing customer service and I will definitely be back .

Great place for learning supplies for teachers and students. They often have promo discounts so look out for those! We enjoy coming here for their bi-weekly free events for kids. There's a monthly theme for the events. Additional to the free event activity, they also have multiple other activities going at the same time in case your kids don't want to do the specific featured event (such as a scavenger hunt to get a prize - a scented sheet stickers, coloring, or other hands on activities to theme). There are also so many toys the kids can play with around the store, my kids usually need some coercing to leave. Hah. Again, a great place to buy learning toys, books, arts & crafts items or just hang out and keep the kids busy.

Now I can replace the dingy little rug that's there with this enormous 9x12 reading rug so all kids fit on it. Its beautifully made and super sturdy. I can't wait for the kids to see it!

If you been to their old location, it's seems spread out and not as organized. With a smaller store, inventory looks overwhelming BUT everything is closer together and easier to browse, get help, and find that you are looking for. It's July aka ComicCon season. I tend to frequent here nearing ComicCon and I don't know why. I don't buy anything. I don't see anything new. But I do like to come here to window shop at their little nicknacks they post in the front area of the store. It's also my connection to ComicCon yearly. I think to really like this store you have to know what you plan to buy.

It's made a comeback, they have it in toys, keychains, clip ons for back packs & as bags & made into other merch items. Kind of pricey but they are iconic, cute & my girls love them. I even seen moms buying them for their purses or as key chains. They also have other cool stuff & characters, many books too & other toys. Customer service is great, the owner & staff are real nice & helpful. This is my go to when my girls are doing good in school & I want to reward them & I won't lie I got a few boy Monchhichis for myself, yes I'm a big kid.
