Had just the right amount of spices for flavor not overly salty, spicy or sweet. Eggs were cooked to perfection over medium just how I like them. The whites were set, but the yolks were still soft. The mashed potato is just what they say, it is a baked potato that has been placed on its side and smashed onto the grill to get crispy skin on both sides. What a great idea and use of leftover baked potato, I'm gonna have to steal it. The portions were large enough that I ate both of my eggs about a third of the sausage and a couple bites of potato, and the rest came home with me and was enough to add eggs to for two more breakfasts. If you're looking for bread, I believe they said they had biscuits or croissants, but they do not have any bread for toast or English muffins or anything like that.

Geppetto's is a traditional staple in the Salem community. Since 1974 the restaurant has provided Italian comfort food... Chicago style. Contrary to a previous review... the sauces are all house made. The pasta for MA's Raviolis is made in house. So is our bread and pizza dough. (The whipped butter spread sent with our to go and delivery orders is for customer convenience and health. Because the food is fresh off the stove when it leaves the restaurant, any real dairy butter product would be completely melted upon arrival.) We want every customer to be happy. It's our job to do our best with every order. It is true... we make mistakes and have our less shining moments. We're still here though... always learning and striving to do our best. MA's recipes have stood the test of time. Though she rests now in heaven her original touch lives on! read more

To say this was a lot of food would not be an exaggeration. There are two sides to this restaurant: a regular dining room and a pizza room with a game area for the kids (or young-at-heart adults). We sat in the pizza side this time where a children's birthday party was getting ready to start. The acoustics leave something to be desired in this side of the restaurant and excited children can be loud, even without the lack of acoustics. It's not the most relaxing quiet dinnertime space but listening to kids enjoy themselves can be uplifting in its own way. The restaurant is clean, the servers friendly and patient, the service is quick, the pizzas hot, the drinks plentiful, and I know I'll be back here soon for another pizza fix.
