September 23,2022 Later on I received this text message from the General manager Mr Matt Smith "Update: Hi Hugo. We have updated your estimated completion date from (Pending) to 10/07/2022. Gerber Collision & Glass. www.carwise.com/e/4iSK9j" After I received a second text message "Update: Hi Hugo. We have updated your estimated completion date from 10/07/2022 to 10/11/2022. Gerber Collision & Glass. www.carwise.com/e/4iSK9j" After I received another 6 text messages indicated that they date of delivery of the car was changed This is the 7 text messages that I received Update: Hi Hugo. We have updated your estimated completion date from 10/21/2022 to 10/26/2022. Gerber Collision & Glass. www.carwise.com/e/4iSK9j On October 25th I sent the Matt Smith this text messages "I need the car!! You are taking to long! Should be done by October 7. I am very disappointed with your service and will reflect on the shop review " After I pick up the car I note that tail gate light was not working . On October 28 I sent this text messages "The tail gate light are not working! Please let me know when I can take up to fix." In November 2,2022 The tail gate light was not working I sent another text message "The right side tail gate light is not working! As you mentioned, please order the parts and let me know when you can fix Thanks " On December 1 I sent another message "Now the light on the left side is not working. I will bring tomorrow morning. Thanks " After this text the general manager don't have the courtesy to call me back or send me a text messages with the update.. I have to take the car back to the shop 5 more times after was delivered.. made an extra 230 miles. The car was fixed today December 22,2022 more of two months that was promised!! I have to pay from my own packet more of $330 dollars for the car rental . Took my car in Monday to get my back fender replace. They said it might take until Friday. On Wednesday we get the call that my car is done. Both my husband and I were at work. I took my car to the Albertville location on Dec 27th. The guy at the front said they could get it done by the end of January. I left my car there. Got a call a week later telling me that I could drop off my car on Feb 2nd to be worked on. THEY ALREADY HAD THE CAR! I said what happened to January and they said we fired the other guy and now it would be until late February. I went in person and spoke to the GM (JUSTIN) and he said he would make it right. The next day the girl (RACHELLE) at the front called and said they made a mistake and they couldn't get to it until mid-February. I said what happened and she replied things change and I didn't need to get it fixed here if I didnt want. The GM didnt even have the guts to call me himself? He sends his rude front desk girl? GERBER is ruining their reputation in a small town area. The former local owner who sold out would have done anything to make it right. NEVER GO HERE!!!! read more

Had a pretty good fender bender right before Christmas and my insurance company recommended this garage. Once the vehicle got towed in the chain of communication started. Our car went in for minor repairs at the Crystal Lake, IL location 38 days ago. They reached out on a few different occasions notifying us that they were waiting on parts, etc. via email and sometimes by phone. They have told us that the parts were in and the car should be done within a week. When we call in to see why we haven't heard from them after another 10 days went by, we were told that the person working on the vehicle had a family emergency. A few days after that, we called again and were told that another person cut their hand while working on our vehicle and needed to go to the hospital. So many excuses at this point, I just don't know what to even think. Today, I stopped by in person to see what was going on. I did ask to see the vehicle, because I was almost prepared that something bad had happened to it and they weren't telling us. Our car is currently buried in the back of the facility with around 25 other cars. I was again told that they ordered the wrong parts (this is the second time I've heard this particular reason). Before leaving your facility today, I asked for my car to be ready to be picked up as soon as possible. They told me I needed to let the insurance company know, so I did right away. The insurance is willing to pay them for what work was actually accomplished as of today. This has been the single worst experience I have ever encountered with a repair facility, and I have owned 15 cars over my years. There is no excuse at this point that would be sufficient for their inadequacies. read more

Approximately 2 months ago my Toyota Tacoma was severely damaged due to auto theft, vandalism Thomas Frazier (Director) promised me that while the damage was very severe that he would personally see to it that everything would be back to original (OEM) parts, without the use of aftermarket as much as possible I so understand that getting parts can be troubling in todays environment. The work was quite extensive Gerber Collisions expert team of body repair technicians did a great job putting all of the pieces back into alignment within 1/8" tolerance like fender to door, hood to fender, like I said their was much work needed, this does not include all of the work needed to be done that is out of view, Thomas Frazier kept me updated as work progressed which was instrumental for the piece of mind, The paint and clear coats are the icing on the cake smooth without the orange-peel Overall my wife and I highly recommend Gerber collision and glass and will always recommend their services to any one who asks, Thank you Thomas Frazier and all of the Gerber collision team who took part in this endeavor your friends, Jim and Denise H. read more

I'm guessing that this is the best way to get communication. I called back and asked for the manager, was told he wasn't in and placed on a hold to "look at my account". After about a five minute hold I was disconnected. At this point I have no update or a possible completion date. I have been told the only thing left to do is paint but they don't know when they would be able to paint it, that they are "working as fast as possible but only have two paint stalls". I simply want to take my vehicle. I won't allow any more days to be milked out of my vehicle being in your shop. Not even to give a date and to ask someone to just wait? Living 45 minutes away from my job, I have not been able to work for almost a month(once my rental coverage expired) and with having to give my boss three different dates and of being able to return and NONE OF THEM BEING MET, I am now being threatened with loosing my employment. IF YOU CAN NOT COMPLETE THE JOB, GIVE ME MY VEHICLE BACK. I don't want to loose my job because of a "reputable" shops inability to complete a job or at the BARE MINIMUM give an accurate time estimate!! Hoping to be able to change this if I can get my vehicle back. My car arrived via insurance on March 8th, I didn't receive an estimate until March 17th. I have messages on March 10th, March 14th and March 15th stating they were working on the estimate. I'm not sure how an estimate can take so many days, but ok. Asked for an update on completion date at 11:43 am on March 21st and got a message back on the 22nd saying we are waiting for parts. March 24th, almost the same message. March 31st I am told eta will be the 14th. Cool. April 5th and April 7th messages said the same thing and April 12th message said it will actually be a day earlier! I asked on the 14th if all parts were in and they responded "yes all parts are in.... Except one, I will reach out to dealer and let you k ow eta by the end of the day." ok, so all parts are NOT IN? Next update(prompted by myself asking again) comes on the 15th saying we are looking at parts date of 21st and will be done by the 27th. Here we are on the 25th and I am asking for an update again only to be told it MIGHT be done by the end of the week but they can't promise anything. The 27th is Wednesday and we are extending the date AGAIN?! Your shop has had all of the parts and you would think after having a car for over a month, KNOWING that your client is missing work everyday you have their car, you would put some effort into completing the vehicle but this shops fails to do so. EXTREMELY dissatisfied with the way the lack of care has been handled. At this point it just seems you are milking every day you can get. Hopefully the manager that is supposed to call me will have some better answers. If you'd like to wait two months for your vehicle, this may be the place for you! read more

I originally scheduled for an estimate on my car for January 13th through their corporate number. A day or two later, I received a call from the actual shop, informing me that corporate schedules appointments for estimates without having any access to the shop's schedule. The earliest they could make an appointment for what would be 5 days later on the 18th. Without any options, I agreed to the reschedule. That Tuesday, I took my vehicle in for the estimate. I was informed that the estimator originally assigned to my vehicle was out sick and would be done by somebody else. That employee walked around my vehicle taking pictures of all sides and then informed me they would email me an estimate the next day. (It is now the 26th, and still no estimate) I asked him about the visible damage to the core support behind the bumper cover. He informed me that they would amend the original estimate when they disassemble the vehicle for repairs. Having an automotive background, I'm pretty confident that the repair to the core support will cost more to repair than to replace the bumper cover and paint. The last time I had an estimate for car repairs they did a very thorough job estimating the damage. Yes, when they get into the thick of it, they will find little things that they missed, but in this case, they intentionally ignored a majority of the damage. This is an incredibly bad first impression of a business. If these kinds of shortcuts are taken at this point in the game, I can't imagine what they would do repairing parts of my car that I may never see myself. I would highly recommend anybody needing body repair to look elsewhere. This company has dropped the ball at literally every level. They have broken every promise/commitment they have made. This has easily been the worst experience I've ever had in the automotive industry. All I can do is hope that I save anyone the hassle and wasted time of ever contacting this company for work. Took my car to Gerber at the strong suggestion of Carvana where I bought the car with all the cosmetic damages on it that needed repair and was pleasantly surprised at how friendly kind and courteous everyone at the front desk was and how they kept me informed throughout the whole week my car was there. They promised it in a week maybe two and it was exactly 8 days. they did exactly what they were assigned and so far, the repairs look to be very well done by the artistic specialists in the back buildings. They didn't drive my car around, they didn't wreck anything in the interior and they didn't change any of the settings on my dashboard or mirrors; yes that's what I got from last place, different car. Their friendliness and attitudes are what sold me throughout this ordeal. Overall while I would NEVER deai with Carvana again I would return here in half a heartbeat. read more

Communication was lacking. They also pinned the hood release cable between the fender and the frame and they guy they sent over to look at it because we were unwilling to drive it in with the hood not fully latched told us it was just worn out and we could use pliers to pull the cable to unlatch and relatch the hood, but he could fix it for $50. We called another place to get an estimate on the cost to replace the cable and they told us where to look for the cable and that was how we discovered that it wasn't reinstalled properly. They also replaced 1 tire on an all wheel drive vehicle without notification or giving us the option of choosing the tire to go on the vehicle. We had high hopes based on the reviews, but we won't be going back. read more

When something happens to my vehicle, my main concern is that I can trust the repair shop to take care of my car--and by extension, take care of me. I'm really glad that I went with Gerber when I got into a hit and run accident. Sydney and their reception team are responsive, understanding, and transparent. I felt like I could really trust my point of contact, Jason, as he explained everything they would have to do with the car, what the expected delays might be due to COVID, and kept me updated twice a week on progress. My car went in with fender/bumper damage, plus scratches on the side of my door. I'm really pleased with the quality of the work and with the paint job. It's also been nice that Gerber is a recommended shop with my insurance company Allstate. Highly recommend Angel and his team at the Kent location! read more

Poor customer service. It started with the person who answers the phone, the office worker; I can't refer to her as a manager because she lacked management skills. I was placed on hold every time I asked a question. There was an insurance policy issue regarding my car being towed to this location versus driving it there. I've no problems with policies; however, when a business is unable to clearly articulate the policy and discuss with their clients why the policy was put in place, and offer solutions and help clients explore alternatives, then that's just POOR SERVICE!!! I worked diligently to have my car removed from the location and delivered to another shop as quickly as possible. read more

After being rear ended on the interstate at rush hour, my 2018 new SUV needed serious work. I selected Gerber from my State Farm list and couldn't be happier. Dwayne kept me informed all throughout the process which ended up being over 2 months due to the extensive damage to the rear of my vehicle and parts having to come in from overseas. Once the vehicle was back to normal, Dwayne walked me through and they have been incredibly patient for follow up issues. Definitely would go back here and recommend to everyone. My car had a front side of the fender damaged by a ladder falling on it in the garage- we have a high end vehicle (Audi Q7) my insurance recommended Gerber so we took it for an estimate in December 2022 and was not able to get it scheduled until late March 2023! It took 8 days to repair- the updates were vague- additional funds requested from my insurance was never included explained and when the vehicle was ready it was pouring rain and a rush turn over with minimal explanation other than to say not to put it through a car wash for 8 weeks! We got it home and the lock assembly was not connected on the front passenger door- so a person riding in front seat could not exit the vehicle- took it back the next day, leaving work to drive back and had to wait over an hour to get it fixed. Today I was driving on the freeway and the assembly around the windshield on the passenger side was flapping and almost broke off! We are taking it back on Monday but cannot drive it for the next 3 days while we wait for it to be fixed...again! Its obvious that shoddy work has been done and no attention to detail is taken by their staff in the assembly of customers cars- we have minimal confidence in them and wonder what else will go wrong! It's a known fact that a car is never the same after an accident, and this shop makes that a true statement. I have had the misfortune of visiting this place for three separate accidents (thankfully no one was hurt in any!) The first two were minor and admittedly, the shop did a good job. So when our car was sideswiped by a genius that can't work a left turn lane, this was the first place I thought of. And so the trouble began. I was told on several occasions that the car was done. I'd gas up the rental in preparation to return it, and head over to the body shop to take a look. Every time I'd find 3 things wrong and point them out. They promised to fix them in a few days. I'd get another call, repeat the process and find only 2 things have been fixed, and new problems created. New dents, missing exterior trim pieces, and my personal favorite: clear overspray on all driver side windows. I didn't discover that one until the sun hit them and turned the windows opaque while I was checking the blind spot/merging. A weeklong project took a month of back and forth to get the car where it should be, and there is still a paint line I'm not happy with. Also, based on some marks on the inside, I'm fairly certain the car spent time in the rain while missing glass. I was told by the front office staff not to leave negative feedback on the corporte survey since it would dock their pay. That is either a terrible policy or I'm being told a story. I didn't know anything about Gerber Collision & Glass before I had my car repaired there. They are a Progressive Preferred Body Shop so, I went to have my car fixed since my car was hit by a Progressive policy holder. When I went to pick up my car, I was very unhappy with the "work" that they had done. My bumper was supposedly replaced, but it looked worse after the "work" was done than it did before I brought it in. My repairs are supposed to be 100% guaranteed yet, when I spoke to the shop and asked why my bumper looked the way it looked, I was told: "There are gaps on both sides and they couldn't get it any better than that." This is very confusing to me! This should be a reputable body shop that should have accommodated my concerns instead of brushing me off. I was left to drive away feeling upset, disheartened and disappointed with the appearance of my vehicle. I don't understand how my repairs are 100% guaranteed, yet, I walked away from the shop feeling extremely disappointed in the work that was done. I would NEVER recommend this body shop to anyone. But they did get $1,000 plus dollars from Progressive so, I am sure the shop is very happy. West Genesee Street, Syracuse NY read more

Our 2013 F150 was broken into a couple weeks ago and our insurance agency supplied us with a couple names of collision companies in our area that would provide a lifetime warranty on the repairs - Gerber Collision & Glass was one of those companies. As we, thankfully, had never had to deal with this situation before, we went with Gerber Collision & Glass purely on Bill R.'s review on 9/18/2013. I am glad I did!!! Not only did the process go extremely smoothly; EVERYONE was so attentive and we got a ride to and from the Enterprise for our rental car. When we returned to pick up our vehicle, Gerber informed us they were unable to place the decal and lock back on the truck properly and we would have to return back when they could get the supplies needed to complete the repair. Gerber not only refunded our deductible but they gave us a free rental vehicle for when they had the truck and were willing to do whatever it took to make the process go as smoothly as possible. Being a parent with a large family and having a child with special needs, this was profoundly refreshing and very much appreciated! Thanks to the entire staff at Gerber for everything they have done and continue to do and thanks to Bill R. for taking the time to write a review! I would not have known where else to go otherwise. Sorry for the long wait but kept forgetting to write this review about my experience at Gerber location in Southfield, Mich. back in 12/2017 when some ice had me slide into a tree and total my passage side vehicle (which included the passage door and window). My auto insurance had Gerber as one of collision to go to and I am sorry I choice them. After getting a rental and Gerber stating if would only take a few days to repair, they stated that they would call me once the repairs were finished. About a week when by & I call them & they stated we are finished we just need to detail the car to clean the glass up from the damage window and put a part on once it come in today, but they said I can come pick it up but once I got there the part wasn't on and the glass was still in my car. I had to vacuum the glass out myself because I didn't want to have my car any longer. I would never in a million years refer Gerber Collision to anyone, I should had reported them to my insurance company but I was not thinking. read more

Winch was not connected electrically, port caps for charging air conditioning missing (keeps the dirt out) custom grill was horrible, didn't fit right,cover for winch was missing, never do business again with Gerber, beware.............. read more

my truck went in for repairs two months ago. the part a rear fender finally came in. and now since they are down to one technician wont be done welding it on and paintingit for two more weeks! they could have delayed the project until the part came in not leaving me without a vehicle for two monthsof which the credit company only covers on. it was still drivable before the cut the rear panel off. read more

I was in a collision and went to Gerber Collision and Glass for my repairs, But almost two months later they still haven't resolved a problem that I only noticed once I got the car home. They never called me to let me know that the part was in. Then they scheduled me an appointment for when the place was closed. If I hadn't called to confirm my appointment I would have made a trip there for nothing. The call center person said I had no appointment scheduled at all. No one would come to the phone at the garage, and they were open at the time I called. No one has called me back since then. All in all, I had a very bad experience with Gerber collision and glass! read more

My wife just picked up her company Ford Explorer from Gerber this week. The right rear quarter panel window had been broken and the sheet metal was damaged adjacent to the window cutout. There were scratches on the left rear pax door and a chip in the front windshield. The work was coordinated with the fleet management company that owns the vehicle on behalf of my wife's company, so we were not involved too much in the process. After my wife brought the car home, I was curious and inspected the vehicle. (I am a mechanic myself). The scratches on the left hand rear door where still visible and there was a sticky residue (wax?) all around the handle. hmm...I guess the company didn't want to repaint the door and some sort of poor color sanding, polish, wax job was done instead. The body work on the R/H rear qtr panel was excellent. The chosen area to repaint was excellent. However, the color (black in this case) did not match. Oh well...I know its tough to match colors. My wife and I enjoy the vehicle and have the option to purchase it from the leasing company at 65K miles. We won't now, because it appears Gerber buffed most of the car putting heavy swirl marks all over the new and original paint finish. Maybe some dust got between the wool pad or it was done too dry or too hot (rpm too high). Either way it is BAD!!!. The finish is ruined in my opinion. I would be pretty upset if this was my personal vehicle. Hey Gerber!? Do you let the newbie's work on the insurance jobs or something? hmm, just curious. read more

This review is strictly about their customer service. I needed to get a dent fixed on my car, I made an appointment online to come in for an estimate. When I got there, the man helping me asked me what I was looking for, I said I wanted to see how much it would be to fix my car, told him I was comparing prices & he said he wouldn't even give me an estimate based on the other prices I got from other companies. Said he didn't want to waste my time & sauntered off. He was not only rude, but very condescending. I took time out of my day to get a quote & he wouldn't even write one up for me because I had already went to other collision places first. When I took my car to Renton Collision, they were nice & the man doing the estimate for me went through everything very thoroughly with me although he knew I was shopping around for the best price. I'll never step foot into this establishment again. To be treated that way, completely uncalled for. read more

I had a minor fix needed on my Honda due to a "park and run" situation. I called my insurance and they gave me a list of local shops. I checked online for the closest and then read some random reviews. I settled on 2 that were close and had decent reviews and just by my gut, I chose Gerber. Great choice!! I was able to get my car in quickly to have it assessed. The rep (so bad with names, John?) was able to take pics and get a quote to my insurance quickly. Also was able to schedule in couple of wks which was fine since my car was running fine. Damage was to the rear light plate and bumper. They also helped me with renting a car with the local Enterprise so that worked out great. I dropped my car off and it was done in a day! John kept me up to date on the status and the work needed and got the call when it was done. The entire process was straight forward and painless and they did a great job. Everyone was professional and my car looks just like new!! (they also helped bang out a little dent on the other bumper for me!) Also yes lifetime warranty..... hurray! ok so I really do hope I don't have to fix any future damages on my cars but if I do, I shall return. thanks for helping me with my car! read more
