I have passed this place so many times and just thought it was a bar. Wow, was I wrong. Yes, it's a bar, but they have a full menu and do brunch/breakfast on the weekends. No windows or natural light, but it wasn't too dark inside. Lots of tables and seating options, a couple of pool tables, nice looking patio. Me and a couple friends went on a Sunday around 11am and it was pretty busy. Lots of variety on their menu. I started with their bacon bloody mary, which was really good. For food I tried the Reuben with curly fries. The sandwich was excellent. Super hot! The fries were curly fries. Nothing special, but not bad either. Everything was very reasonably priced! I will say service was very slow. Friendly, but it looked like their were only two servers. Maybe one bartender and a couple of cooks. Drinks and food just took a long time to come out. One of my friends got a burger and said it was delicious. There are a few things I definitely want to come back and try. Not sure I'd sit on their patio. It seemed a lot of people were going out their to smoke. I even smelled it when I came in the back entrance. If it was no-smoking it would be a fun place for happy hour! read more

Food is wonderful. Justin was our server and he does an excellent job . However the bartender leaves a lot to be desired. She's not personable, she doesn't smile and was very rude . And this is the second time I've been here and talked to the bartender . She just seems to be put off by customers . She is the reason I don't give it a five star read more

I have had Getaway bar and grill on my list of places to try for a year now and I was getting my car's brakes serviced nearby so it felt like the perfect opportunity to walk over today and see what it's all about! I came in shortly after they open for the day and it was nice and clean, a few other patrons were there but it was quiet. I had a really sweet waitress assisting me also. She provided prompt and very efficient service so I made sure to tip her accordingly to show my appreciation! I got a few drinks.. I first tried the "Heaven on Earth" which was coconut rum with pineapple juice and soda water which was good but then the "Watermelon Refresher" caught my eye- that one is watermelon and elderflower with cucumbers, lime and mint and that was phenomenal !!! Best thing about this place is that they serve quality cocktails at a cheap price.. these drinks were only $7.50 each!!! I'm used to paying double that price for one drink at other establishments and some of the cocktails at other bars I've been to don't even taste that great! That alone makes this bar a winner in my book!!! I also tried an island chicken wrap with a side salad, the food overall was good. I really enjoyed the chicken in the wrap and the flavors worked well. The side salad wasn't anything too special but I did enjoy the raspberry vinaigrette and the fresh tomato and cucumber on it as well as the cheese. I felt they were a little skimpy on the veggies on the side salad especially cucumber as it was just two little half pieces and personally I just really am not a fan of iceberg lettuce.. I understand why alot of restaurants use it, it's the cheap option, but it adds absolutely no flavor or nutritional value. Darker lettuce like romaine, spinach, arugula and kale are all better options in my opinion and I'd absolutely pay more for a side salad if they used one of those but all in all, it's not too big of a deal. The drinks and the service will definitely keep me coming back here and I really can't wait to come back with my fiancé on a weekend to enjoy some of their brunch options ! read more

Came here yesterday after a fishing trip. Got sat and served immediately, food was cheap for the amount I got! The potato skins were absolutely amazing, the vibe of the place was definitely more a nighttime bar, was mainly dead due to it being 2 PM. However the service was absolutely amazing and I 100% recommend this place! read more

super cute place! the people who frequent here are nice, its pretty welcoming. the servers are also sooo sweet too! they got a few pool tables, so try them out! you shouldn't complain about the food, this isn't really a 'food and bar' its a 'bar and food', i don't drink but that seems to be the vibe. so, come here for beer, and if you get hungry, they have decent stuff. nothing crazy, just decent, but its good! the outside of this place is kind of misleading, looks kind of abandoned haha, but its not sketchy on the inside, i swear! come here, drink beer and watch tv read more

We tried out this dive bar because it is always packed. To our surprise it had really good food. We were able to find an open table, servers took our order and the food and drinks came out very fast. Getaway Bar and Food - Nampa I'm sure this place has been mentioned before in this group but I've lived here 4 years and never went in. We decided tonight was the night....Not a good decision ‍ Arrived at 6:50pm, server walked by and was pleasant. She told us to sit wherever we liked. We chose a high top table near the pool tables because we noticed the patio was smoking and wanted to sit as far away as we could since they left the doors open. We soon realized it didn't matter because there was a fan above the entrance to the patio door that sucked the smoke right back in. There were only 4 tables seated and a few people playing pool when we arrived. The server came over after about 5 minutes and brought us menus. She asked about drinks and didn't come back for another 8-10 minutes with them. We only ordered 2 sodas (and a water that she never brought). She came back a while later to take our food order at 7:15pm. We ordered the Seafood Sampler, Bone-In Mild Wings and a side of fries. She then returned to the table and asked for our credit card to hold at the front as a pre-authorization, um what?? I've never experienced that before, but we gave her the card and she disappeared. We knew the BSU game started at 7:45 so we were looking forward to watching some of it. Their TV's were set up nice for viewing. 7:45 came, no game on and still no food. The server came over and said that they had a large to-go order and hadn't started our food yet She asked if we wanted refills on our drinks but never brought them. The food finally arrived at 8:18. The seafood sampler was underwhelming. It came with fried shrimp, coconut shrimp, calamari, popcorn shrimp and fried cod. Every single thing was pre-made frozen food. We were able to bend the cod in half and it didn't break. So rubbery. The calamari was so stringy it was like a mozzarella stick The popcorn shrimp and fried shrimp were decent. The coconut shrimp was a stick and the shrimp was mush and formed into a stick. The strangest consistency. The chicken wings were soggy. I'm always on the hunt for nice crunchy wings and these were definitely not it. We ordered Mild and after the second one my nose was running from the heat. The server never came back to refill drinks or check on us. When she did return to take our plates, she asked if I liked the wings to which my reply was a simple "No". She said, oh I've never had them, I guess I'll stick with the boneless. We asked for our check because by this point, our butts were numb from the uncomfortable high top chairs and our patience was thin. We paid the bill and asked why they never put the BSU game on and she said they didn't want to pay for Peacock. I told her it was on Fox and she said, oh really?? Thanks for letting us know! Strange she didn't know being as that it's advertised all over that they play the BSU games. We will Never be back. I read reviews and should have listened. We gave them a chance because we were really hoping to find a good place close to the house. I would never recommend this place to anyone unless you're there to play pool and drink without eating. read more

A medium sized dive bar in Nampa on 12th Ave. Eight TVs, three pool tables and some other games. The food is decent and the prices are good. I am here on a Wednesday and the special is a burger with fries or tots and a Bud or Coors Light for 5 simoleons . Hard to beat a deal like this. The gals are friendly and do a nice job. Service was terrible. Food is mediocre. we were sitting in the corner eating food and having a few beers when the bartenders switched shifts. The guy that came in had a personal issue with one of the girls that was with us, so he told our whole group we had to leave "his bar" and then called the police on us!! We didn't even get to finish our food! He told the police that we were refusing to leave--which we were not--we just asked him why he was kicking us out and he didn't have an answer. I've never been treated like that at any restaurant or bar and we will never go back to this place again and I wouldn't recommend anyone else going here either. read more

I kind of like this bar and kind of avoid it. There are a number of locals that come to the Getaway who I would rather avoid and others I would like to socialize with. This is a decent place to take your friends to chew the fat and play some pool. The people who work here are relatively friendly especially if you know them really well. The location is virtually around the corner from me so I do not have to drive very far to get there. I think this is a good place to meet people. If you just moved to the area this is a pretty good place to start socializing with fellow Nampa folk. read more

Can't think of anything really bad bout this place. The food is awesome and inexpensive. They have $5 burger, fries and a Bud for $5 on Wednesday and a steak, salad and baked potato on Friday for $7.99 on Friday! Both are all day long and are great. I've also had steak fingers, chicken sliders, salads, there and they were just as good. For sports they have 4 huge projection TVs along with about 12 other flat screens. Try them if you're down in Nampa- you'll not be disappointed. read more

If you are looking for a dive bar, Getaway is for you. The service is slow and confused - we had to confirm our order three times with multiple waitstaff. The food is mediocre. Stick with beer or water as your beverage option, as the traditional Moscow Mule we ordered tasted like vanilla and no ginger. We were never asked if we wanted a second round of drinks. But if you are looking for a place to get a pitcher of Coors and play some pool, this is probably a good option. read more

this place is nuts. my wife called to see is they made clam diggers so I knew whether to go get a to go bag or not, they said yes so off I went drove across town and when I ordered it the poor excuse for a bar tender says " do you know how long it's going to take me to make those?" I'm thinking yeah but I'm gonna pay for them and give you 20 bucks as a tip, because I know they take a few minutes so I always tip well for clam diggers. I ended up getting a Bloody Mary that my wife wanted and went to a gas station for a chelada. the only reason I drove was for clam diggers lol otherwise I would've gone two blocks to the gas station for a beer. if you work at a bar shouldn't you expect to mix drinks? wife called after i got home and the manager Daniel made it right to her which is a regular there. but I won't spend a dime there again read more

Horrible horrible service. The two stars is because the food is actually good, if you get past the bad, slow service and the overcharging for drinks. I live locally and have had nothing but bad (or no) service the last few times in. Even an email to the owner/manager went unanswered.
