The walls feature cute artwork, the facility is fully wheelchair accessible, and the parking lot is a decent size with easy parking. Service shines thanks to James. He was prompt, very welcoming, and even offered to get my pup a bowl of water. The speakers play a unique, diverse variety of music. The Drink: I tried the raspberry margarita. It was good but definitely alcohol-forward rather than flavor-forward. If you prefer a fruitier cocktail, keep this in mind. The Food: Being from Oklahoma, I have high standards for BBQ and cornbread. Unfortunately, the cornbread was a major disappointment. It tasted raw, underdone, and lacked that classic, rich cornbread flavor I was craving. For my main, I ordered the chipotle peach barbecue sliders. You get three toasted buns piled with moist, smoky pulled pork tossed in a chipotle peach BBQ sauce and topped with fresh coleslaw. The pork itself had a great smoky depth. The meat was cooked and flavored well albeit a little on the dry side. The selection of bbq sauce is amazing but most too sweet for my taste. Ironically, the hottest was vinegar based and not hot at all. I poured it over everything. I ordered the brisket, burnt ends, Pork ribs and short rib. I liked the short rib the best. Just enough far to keep it moist and good seasoning. The sides needed more salt. The cole slaw lacked any kind of seasoning whatsoever and the French fries were stale. Delicious BBQ especially for Idaho. Pretty cool little spot too, I'm betting it's awesome when it's warm out and the patio is open. The staff were super friendly and welcoming. We placed our order at the counter and they bring the food out to you. This is definitely the best bbq I've had since leaving Georgia. I can't say it's quite as good as some of the Carolina bbq spots I've been but it's close and it's great to find a taste of home out this way. This place is pretty good. Probably the best your are going to get in Idaho. We got a larger order of burnt ends, ribs, brisket, pulled pork, Mac and cheese, and cheesy potatoes (aka funeral taters) It was all good. For me the star was the burnt ends and ribs. My kids went to town on the pulled pork. The cheesy potatoes were also pretty good. Catering must be their specialty because the restaurant seems to be more of an afterthought. Prior to ordering, we were warned of a long wait due to a large order ahead of us. We ordered the nachos that came out looking like they were straight out of Napoleon Dynamite's microwave. They dumped a can of cold nacho cheese and some half frozen shredded Velveeta on top of a pile of chips and called it good. The pulled pork was fine but would have been better if it hadn't been served like leftover turkey scraps three days after Thanksgiving. After turning down a to-go box on an obviously uneaten entree, the waitress asked if everything was ok. The honest answer was responded to with "ya, I don't know what they're doing back there, --(oblivious laugh) , thanks for coming in". Unfortunately, we'll never get back the outrageous $42 spent on this half hearted attempt at a meal but won't contribute to war crimes like this in the future. #MakeNachosGreatAgain read more

While in downtown Nampa, we wanted some barbecue. We stumbled upon H&M BBQ. The food was exceptional! I ordered the 3-Meat & 2 sides plate and she ordered the brisket tacos. I was pleasantly surprised with the tenderness of the meat and the flavor of the food. You don't need a knife to cut the meat. Everything was delicious. You can pick your own BBQ sauce, but I didn't care for the Carolina one. All the other sauces were tasty. The food here was better than Texas and Kansas City BBQ restaurants I have eaten at before. You definitely do not want to miss H&M BBQ if you come to the Boise, Idaho area. We will be back again for more! read more

All the sauces were as expected. BBQ beans were flavorful. The Mac and Chesse were cheesy with no additional flavoring. Best BBQ in a long time. The service was great. I was finally able to try out The Block today. I love all things barbeque, and have been dying for a better option in Nampa. I was not disappointed! My wife and I ordered the three meat, three sides meal to share, and it was plenty for both of us, although given how good it was, I'm sure I'd have finished it on my own. We ordered the Brisket, Pulled Pork, and Ribs, along with the Cole Slaw, Hawaiian Macaroni Salad, and Garlic Bacon Green Beans. The Cole Slaw was nice and fresh, with a good balance of sweet and tang, the Macaroni Salad was creamy and flavorful, and the Green Beans were nicely seasoned and cooked perfectly (not overcooked, with a little bit of snap still left in them). But the sides aren't really what I was excited to try. Let's talk meat! The Ribs were incredibly flavorful and tender, although maybe a bit drier than I like to see in a pork rib. The Pulled Pork was well-seasoned, juicy, and so, so soft. But as good as both of those were, the Brisket stole the show. It had a beautifully deep smoke ring, a beautiful bark, and as the chef cut it before me, I could just see the juices running out of it. It was super moist and it just melted in my mouth. The flavor marked this as the best brisket I've ever had. Like many places in the valley, The Block has had its share of staffing problems, but I am so glad that we checked their Facebook page today and found them open. Some of the best BBQ I've had in the Valley that doesn't cost an arm and a leg! For $12, I ordered the meat platter with burnt ends, pulled pork and hickory smoked brisket. Two sides come with it, and I picked the cornbread and jalapeño salad. The meats were absolutely awesome! The burnt ends were covered in bbq sauce and we're filled with incredible flavor and moistness. The pulled pork was saucy and tender. The brisket was a little dry, but I'm forgiving them because the rest of it rocked! The cornbread was moist and came with a large helping. The jalapeño slaw was just okay, but mixed well with the pulled pork later that night when I mixed the two together in a sandwich for dinner. The slaw gave the pork just a little kick. $12 for the platter. Sodas are $1 cans. Gatorade is $1.50. I'm DEFINITELY going to be frequenting this place. read more

Mom and I were trying to find a new place to eat so we headed down town Nampa. It's actually not super evident that there is a restaurant here. It's only open Friday and Saturday. Fun place, not tons of room but enough. The menus are right on the wall for everyone to see. The person at the window taking the order was friendly and the wait wasn't long. The brisket was amazing and the chicken was nice. Nothing too overpowering, but enough that there was nice flavor. This was a nice find. We were happy to take the risk of a new place. read more
