I arrived at about 7:30am on a Wednesday. They were out of & almost out of a lot of donuts. A dozen assorted donuts for $12. A dozen donut holes (regular glazed) for $2. Otherwise individually donuts ranged from $1-$2. There is a lot of parking. Very nice people working inside. Smaller, maybe two or so tables inside. They also serve bottled drinks. My husband has been raving about these donuts for quite some time. He picks up two dozen every Friday to take to the employees at his job. So I finally decided I'm gonna give these donuts a try. I got there at 7:30 in the morning. There were two people sitting over to the left of the door munching down on a half eaten donut. There were two people in front of me and three more following in behind me. Glad I arrived when I did since they are only open 6-12 and closed on Monday. I was greeted by Renee who was chatting it up with the gentleman in front of me. He ordered several dozen and planned to return the next am for more. I got to the counter and said hello and let the manager Renee know that I have never had the donuts before. She said really with surprise since my husband is a regular. so she gave me a donut hole. It was gobbled up in one bite. I want 2 dozen but I don't know what to order so you choose for me and make sure to give me two of those maple bars with bacon on it. as a matter fact give me three of them and a large cup of black coffee. I put the donuts in the back seat so I would not be tempted to attack them while driving. I jumped into my car and drove the 19 miles all the way trying not to reach behind my seat to gobble one up. I got to my office and immediately pulled out a maple, man candy donut not the name but close enough) and took a large bite. OMG! so soft and sweet and crunchy! I had to put it down so no one would see me eating one before my meeting. I walked in with the donuts and I grabbed the other donut of deliciousness oozing with maple syrup and man candy and took another bite with gusto. Wow, I thought I already wrote a review for this locally owned donut shop since I LOVE it, but guess I didn't yet! First things first: I loveeeee a good yeast donut. Simple, glazed rounds (like what Krispy Kreme is famous for) is my litmus test for a good donut place. Ironically, the first thing I had from Get N' Go was their glazed traditional old fashioned cake donut - there's a slight hint of sour cream and the bite is the dense sink of your teeth that satisfies exactly what you're looking for. Then my roommate and I went to the store front to get some others and I fell in LOVE with the glazed rounds. Soft, chewy, not too much glaze but just the right amount of sweetness. Now? We try to space out our donut trips to once a month for that treat yourself moment of glazed donut perfection [since eating too much will make you become a donut yourself]; we usually end up eating 2 donuts each in the parking lot, so most of them don't even make it home. You really can't go wrong with anything else they make, from Apple fritters to sprinkle donuts to their donut hole. Also I have to give a specific shout-out to their maple bar: the TIGER bar! One of their awesome owners, Seth, told me that he puts time and care into preparing the marinade of the bacon to give it that sweet taste with a spicy kick! Also considerate is the fact that the bacon is broken up into smaller pieces instead of the whole strip as one piece so you can really enjoy some bacon with every bite. I wasn't a maple bar fan before, but this donut has got me wanting more! Definitely recommend hitting up this local donut place and give it a try- but don't sleep on it! They're often out of donuts by 10:30, so call ahead to set some aside if you're a chronic morning snoozer. read more
