Their professionalism has gone to hell. My children along with several other children were checking out the monument in the wooded area and a worker and his child started yelling at them to get out, cussing at them, calling them bean heads (whatever the hell that is) instead of kindly telling them they needed to have a parent with them. My children are 14, 13 and 12. No child should be treated this way. If a an adult is needed then something should be posted stating this. Then they came to my site and completely ruined my family's holiday weekend by threatening to fight my husband and my children, then by calling the police and making us leave. How is it fair for an employee to act this way and get away with it. My checkout date isn't until May 27th. I have video footage of the entire thing and I will be taking my videos to a lawyer on Tuesday. They aren't getting away with what they did to my family today. read more

Not impressed. "We won" a trip to the resort! We paid $40.00 to reserve the spot. Ok, we told them up front that we had a dog when we signed up. No problem they said. We called two weeks ago and talked about arrival time and other issues and reminded them we had a dog. Three days before we were to leave, we get a call stating no dogs allowed on the 2-3 hour tour. Every other resort/campground say no dogs are allowed in the camper alone that we have previously stayed in. So, we were not happy with this change. Our dog will bark for three hours if we bring him, even though he's not a barker. Strange place and not with us, he will bark. So, the cost to board him is outrageous. So, it's dog or no go! When we called the main office they said they agreed with our Point of view and would refund us the $40.00. We have yet to see it. Well, we are now spending our 15th Anniversary home. We were looking forward to touring Gettysburg but not this time. I Would NEVER recommend this place! read more

Membership required. Membership expensive. Memberships oversold. Hard to get reservations. Told that you have access to any new park that Travel Resort of America buys is a lie. Told that they are installing their own sewer plant so all sites will be full hook up is a lie. Still not happening after 5 years of being told by next year it will be done. Large sand mound old and sewage runs out and down the road. Huge water problem. The pump for the well is to small for the demand so instead of putting in a new pump they just close the bathrooms and laundry. Sites are uneven some of the larger motor coaches actually have their wheels off the ground to level. No real security at all. Anyone can just drive in after hours and early morning. The whole TRA needs a lot of work starting with honesty. read more

If I could give this place no stars i would ,if you tent camp be prepared for discrimination against you and harrasment, after being members for 4 yrs , we are treated like dirt, all because we tent camp, the staff is rude, we hang clothes to dry only to be told , we have to remove them as soon as they are dry, because it looks like a "trailer park" Ummm what else do you do with your wet clothes..???? Definitely not coming back here and considering cancel our membership. Definitely not worth it to be harrased over clothes on a line , if they want recommendations not getting from us , this place is horrible ..except the pool and the bathrooms. Wasn't impressed, first time there didn't have sewer hook up had to use the shower house always full. Other than that it was ok. When a place charges almost $10 k for membership they can afford to have all sites with sewer. May go back in a few years. read more

Gettysburg Battlefield Resort is located South of Gettysburg on Highway 15 and in the Southern part of the the Gettysburg National Military Park. While the resort is mainly a private RV park, this review focuses on the rental cabins. Nearly in the center of the park are about 8 cabins available for rent. The "cabins" are renovated trailers. I stayed for two nights on a motorcycle trip up to Gettysburg and found the location convenient and accommodations excellent. Some of the features included: Direct TV, Gas Grill on porch and a screened in porch. There is a small supply store on the grounds and a nice pool. Overall very happy with my visit to Gettysburg Battlefield Resort - I would come again. read more

I am a member of this park for 4 years now, and paid alot of money to become a member, Everytime I try to book they are full they tell me, but when I bought in they said there will always be a spot for members. So my wife and I finally got in the campground over a big holiday, and instead of looking out for the people that have paid alot of money to be members, They are telling members that their full and giving out tours to sell more memberships On holiday weekends when we, the members should be there with no tours available. Its a time share club 12,995.00 overpriced piece of paper ,The Resort Itself is allright if thats what your looking for none of the pads are level or blacktop just a few in the front are full hook up. It's high pressure sales that makes you feel like if you wouldn't accept today you must be crazy ? We dont work like that my wife and I .The maintance fees are 595.00 a year for new sign ups and the guy parked beside me told me 10 years ago it was 150 a year . When the salesman picked us up at our RV he was really nice ,When after 2.5 hours of trying to sell us I said NO he didn't say 1 word the whole way back! lol Look at what your buying there is no deed, you get to make reservations if something is available and remember the more sales they have the less spots are available... read more

When I walked in and asked for any brochures or info on the campground, they said they couldn't answer anything I had to walk down the road to sales. This review is the first I've done in my 3 years as a member. I've decided it is time to document what I have been seeing about this place since we bought our membership. Today's review is of site 68. We are members. I've decided to begin reviewing each site we use. First issue, the water and electric hookups are across a little creek. While this site has a bridge, it needs a prop to hold the electric line out of the water. Drop a 4 x 4 into the ground and add a hook. Sometimes the water is high. Hello, it's electric and water and it feels unsafe to have it set up like this without precautions for when it is rainier than it was today during hook up. The grass needs to be replanted. It is going to require turning the dirt as it is hard packed. The gravel needs to be refreshed, as it does in most sites. When it rains it is a horrible mess in most sites. The trees need to be maintenanced. Dead limbs are ready to fall off and land on you at any minute. It goes for most of the trees on the property. It is time to rent a cherry picker and get to work. 3 years and we have seen zero maintenance on the trees. But I did see they planted a whole ONE tree this year. It is a pine; just what you want dripping on your camper. Overall this place needs major upgrading with more gravel and grass planting, which means closing a few sites each week and getting it done. And for Pete's sake, plant new trees and cut the dead off of the existing ones. It will promote new growth in the healthy part of the tree. Bath houses are nice and clean. They are actually quite nice. The pool is nice, now that the leak was fixed. They do try to provide events and keep a decent activity schedule. The staff could be a bit friendlier. Maintenance like power washing the club house with a generator at 5:30 AM seems a bit of an odd time. I'd rather wake up to the birds vs a rattling engine while camping. But then again, the last time we stayed the neighbor was a resident/employee camper that was out beating his rugs with a broom at 5 AM. I think the long term campers should be reminded to do their chores at a more considerate time. As people are paying to camp and have an experience. Some nuisances should be avoided considering what the price is to belong to this place. It is time to get back to basics and do some site by site upgrading to make it worth what we paid and maybe encourage us to recommend our friends joining. But until we see progress on the basics, I honestly would direct them to other local places before I would invite them here. read more

We became members about a year ago. We've stayed about 1/2 dozen times since then and have always had a good time. We have a great sales person who has helped us out when we've had questions, concerns, etc. Love that the trolley comes right to the campground - so I can go wine tasting with friends and not drive... or tour the battlefield, etc. read more

We received our stay here for free from an RV show, we had to go on a two hour tour. We were well aware of that and had no issues. I'll review the tour elsewhere, because as a life long camper, the rate they charge for that is a lot of crap, but that's a story for another day. So to begin, we pulled in and I went to check in, I stood in line for 15 minutes while the woman behind the counter argued with another employee because he didn't want to clean a cabin so a couple could check in. Then finally, I check in and have no issues. I go back to the truck and show my husband the map and we start following it. The roads ok the map don't line up with the roads we're driving on. Campsites and roads all merge into one big cluster of rocks. Ok, we find our site, it's in a relatively nice area, but it's unlevel as you can get. Glad we have enough tools to correct that issue. So our son goes to play, but not at the playground because that's a good five minute walk out of eye site and so far away from the back of the Campground where we've been shoved with all the others who are here for a tour. Then I had to use the bathroom, which as abnormal human being I would have to use about 4-5 times a day for the next 4 days. But if I wait one minute longer then the second I realize I have to pee, I have to hop in the truck and drive because I'd never make the walk to the bathroom. Oh, and I had to pray that the bathroom wasn't jam packed with people and wait in line. I've never in my 22 years of camping (I've only been alive for 27) seen a Campground packed like sardines, more than this one was. We're still here. I want to go home. But my son is having fun. So I'll suffer. read more

We chose to stay at this campground as it fit our itinerary. The caveat was we would have to sit through a sales presentation because this was a "members only resort" (more on the resort identity later). When we booked our site we were assured it was a full hook up site (water, electric AND sewer). This was important because we were traveling from a site with no sewer, and arriving "heavy". When we arrived we were told our site was water and electricity only. No amount of cajoling swayed the desk crew. I requested to be changed to several spots that would at least allow my satellite to connect (no cable provided), many sites with a clear southern exposure were open. I was denied. We sat through the two hour sales presentation. The sales person agreed that their "Resort" was not a good fit for us. The next day we again asked for a site change as the park had cleared out considerably. We were asked if we joined. When we replied no, we were told that site changes were not allowed. We chose to leave a day early. Why do I consider this a park and not a resort? Poor power supply, water service turned off completely ( out friends elected to stay behind and suffered through not having ANY water service. FHU spots are tightly packed together in the front of the park and taken up by apparent long stay/full time residents. Trees block access to satellite in most areas, cable is not available. The park targets families with young children making it loud and busy. For all these reasons, I would argue this is certainly not a "resort". I have stayed at resorts and know one when I see one. Poison Motorcoach & RV Resort is a prime example of a true "Resort". To sum it up; don't waste your time staying at this park. read more

Had a wonderful weekend! This is a great place to come and chill. Our camp site was clean and the staff very friendly. There aren't a lot of sites with sewer but they have sewer trucks that come through and empty for you which is a great feature. This morning the staff came through the campsite offering free coffee. We didn't mind the sales pitch because it's something we expected and it was totally no pressure. The campgrounds were clean same as the bath house. It really is a great place for families and retirees alike. read more

This is a scam!!!! You get promised everything, but get nothing. They tell you you will always have a spot, when you call they are booked up!! Oh, but if you pay thousands dollars more to upgrade, you can stay at one of their other resorts or be able to book farther out.. The campground has been under renovation for years, paved roads, a secure campground, and a bunch of other things. The only thing I have seen change is they are adding more sites. Nothing ever changes! What a joke, and I fell for this. I tried to GIVE my membership away, no one wants it!! They are in way over their heads with members. My husband and I are in the process of selling our home in Maryland to become full time RV'ers. Our home has only been on the market for a month, however we were both getting anxious to start our new journey in life. On the drive up here we kept reminding one another that we couldn't sign up for anything till the house was sold. We were going to "just take the nights of free camping and the gifts that had been promised to us." BUT....... The moment we arrived we were greeted with such kindness! When the sales representative, Travis, arrived in his golf cart to pick us up the next morning, I quickly let him know we couldn't do anything until the sale of the home, Lol!!!!! We would have been fools to pass up this amazing opportunity! He took us on a tour of the resort. We quickly noticed how nice every one was. The staff made you feel like you had known them for years. The grounds are so clean, bath houses, spacios and very very clean. The lodge is warm and inviting, and having 8 grandchildren, I was very pleased with the amount of activities that are offered. The pool is the nicest I have seen in any campground. For us, the fact that we will stay free in any one of their 8 resorts means no $600-$1,000 per month camp fee's. And if we want to stay at other campgrounds, we can for $10-$15 per night. This was a no Brainer for us when thinking of the cost of campground living!!! It will very quickly pay for itself !!!!! Our Children and grandchildren may use it too, along with numerous cabin and condo resorts offered each year. The very best part, TRAVIS. He made us feel as part of his family. He is the sweetest, kindest, and genuine young man, I have ever done business with. Yes some would say "he's just good at what he does". However I grew up with a family in sales. I have been involved in numerous home sales of my own, as a fun, extra along with a career in nursing. But Travis is very different! He truly cares about his people. Anything you will need help with, I know he will be there for us. He has already been down this morning to check on us, before meeting with his first appointment of the day! If you every get an offer to come check out this fabulous opportunity, DONT PASS IT UP! Best part for us, we can start our adventure now, 6 mo no interest, we can pay it off when we sell our house. We toured all of the campgrounds in the Gettysburg area and were always greeted with a smile and offered information on resort amenities and layout. This resort was the exception. It had by far the rudest employees who greeted us when we walked into the office with a look up and down and then we were told it was "members only" and that we had to leave and go outside to the double wide across the street for info. The blond woman behind the desk could not have been more rude or condescending with her tone and body language. She might have well have said your not welcome here , get out. I understand members only places but there is an overall way to talk to people. I don't understand what type of membership you needed , or even how to get it or what it contains since no one even took the time to explain it. I would never, ever pay for this type of service! Bought into the resort several years and still have many more to go. We recently sold our RV and looking to sell our timeshare. Have not used it much because of the distance to Gettysburg. I received a promotional sweepstakes package in the mail, put on by The Gettysburg Battlefield Resorts. There was a scratch off stating that any recipient with a matching VIP was the winner of 2 of the 5 prizes listed. I called the number provided as I matched the winning number and was a bit curious for truth. I was told over the phone that the letter was correct and that I was the grand prize winner if my numbers matched. I said.. yeah right, I don't believe you. The young lady stated that it was true. I asked what I needed to do to retrieve my gifts, she stated that I only had to visit the resort for a two hour tour. I asked again.. And I don't have to pay for anything? And I get any two of the five gifts listed? She stated, there's nothing for you to pay and that I will be able to choose from the five gifts listed. I said.. I know I want that money. The operator asked if I was sure I didn't want the TV OR Truck? I said, idk we'll see. I drove me and my family to this resort, two hours from our home, for a two hour tour with a tour guide named Will, let's just say.. (etiquette, grooming and sanitation is key). The experience that was being pitched: Imagine being packed like sardines with other campers and families, not much room for each group on the site. And having to drive to the restroom when needed, the entire stay because they're not near the cabins or RV park. There were no activities for the kids, just a dated playground. And for $15,000? No Thanks! At the end of the tour Will asks for my sweepstakes paperwork to confirm my winning number. He went downstairs and returned with a carnival cruise package and a Samsung tablet which I can tell I'm not it's first owner. The Samsung tablet was used and stored in a generic apple iPad box to make matters worse. These are two of the five prizes listed, however I was told I could choose which two I wanted. I expressed this and Will reverts me back to the form. Which doesn't clearly state if choosing is or isn't allowed. I express my frustration with the play on words and miscommunication from the rep. I spoke with on the phone initially. Everyone should be on the same page and that is something this company doesn't understand. They're pushy and gain attitudes when they fail to get a sell. I even overheard another rep. tearing this lady down about her finances, all because she declined the offer it sounded like. On top of all that, the site looked like a recipe for a crowded and cramped camping experience. I am a full member of this campground over 9 years now I have not been able to make a reservation in two months and probably never will be able to because I didn't upgrade my already overpriced membership from 60 days advance notice to 90 days!! I guess the next upgrade will be 120 days just to get more money and severely oversell and screw all the existing members that just upgraded!!! I will give my membership to the first one that contacts me and is willing to pay transfer fees. I got ripped of for over 9000.00 for a membership I can't use!!!! FFFFF this place!!!! We received this site free for the weekend as a promotion if we took the sales tour for a membership. Great location, great campground, nice people. Site we received was VERY un level with no sewage but they had a dump out station and honey wagon (for a fee). The pond was nice and I hear loaded with fish. We saw allot of campers out there in the morning fishing. Dog park was huge and bathhouses were incredible (they were individual rooms- toilet, shower, sink, dressing area), very clean. We did the harvest fest which was really good and worth the money. They appear to have allot of activities for the members. Our sales person was nice, not a ton of pressure and we were honest from the start we were Thousand trail members. Took 2 hours to go on the tour but worth staying at this nice campground. We earned 21 free days of camping there for going on the tour so looking forward to going back for the reenactment. The only reason we didn't give it 5 stars was due to the un level sites. read more

We had a great and horrible experience. The campground itself, is very lush, pretty, clean. The people running it however are there to make a paycheck and could care less about the campers. The campground is NOT tent friendly. It rains all the time and everywhere puddles up and it's very muddy. They were also laying asphalt for 2 days and that was aggravating yo say the least. We ended up having to pay $500 for cabins because we were told we could pitch tents and the campsite for our 5th wheel was definitely not big enough for 2 extra tents. So we ended up in 3 different cabins, the penny packer, Robert e lee, and the chamberlain. The first 2 cabins were great, no problems. Upon arrival into the chamberlain cabin, it had not been cleaned from the previous campers. We had to call the park host after hours and It took them 2 hours to have our cabin ready. That night was HORRIBLE. the ac was broken and it was so stuffy and hot the first night, when we all woke up we were sniffling and coughing from running fans all night. We let maintenance know and by 7pm he came there just to turn the fan on to unfreeze it and said he would be back by 8 to check it again. He didn't show up until close to 9 then said he leaves at 10 so he wouldn't have enough time to fix it before he went home for the night but he would be back in the morning (we had to be checked out at 11am) so the second night was worse and we had to sleep with fans running or we would've died it gets that hot and stuffy in those wood cabins. When I checked out I told the kid at the front we were miserable, he even commented on how tired I looked and I began to explain how pissed I was and he took down my name and number for their boss to call me when she was done with interviewing people. I said we deserved some sort of refund just for that cabin and we were told to fill out a comment card on our way out. I told him if the boss is just going to call and say sorry, don't bother I'll just leave a review that won't get thrown away on a comment card. I never got a call from management and we drove from pa back to florida with 2 sick adults, a sick 5 yr old and my newborns first time being sick. If you end up staying here, if something is wrong address it over and over because they are just there to work and leave. A lot of our money was wasted and we weren't able to see Washington dc because we had to pay for cabins we never wanted in the first place read more
