More like a 4.5 stars, but I'll give them the whole boat for Abbey's customer service, expertise, pricing (appreciated an exact quote before I made my decision) and ease of getting there and dropping off. I take a half star off because I was told my car would be ready at the end of the day and it wasn't until the following morning. I had to make a call to find this out late in the day. I would have appreciated a heads up so I could have planned my following day better. But overall, my car works again, no noise and feels like my sweet ride is back. read more

Have taken my car into to them twice. Both great experiences. They were able to diagnose my a/c problem that two other shops could not. The cost to repair was on par with other shops. Sorry to write this review after years of trusting them with our cars. My wife takes the car in for a brake job and gets a call that she needs rear brakes but the fronts can go a while longer. They also recommend doing all the brakes at once and give her a price of $470. Mind you the fronts are good but they recommend a complete brake job. I get a call from her and decide to do the brakes myself. Fronts are indeed fine reading 45% pad left with a micrometer and the rears have 30% pad left. So in fact she does not need a brake job at all. After a conversation with them about this they only try and justify their position, pretty much expected. Beware, even good shops can become untrustworthy. Looking for a new repair shop. read more

I took my car here to get my AC fixed. Mr Ghassem was very friendly and knowledgeable. They diagnosed the problem and he explained everything. There was no running around the issue. I want to give these guys 5 stars, but am finding issues every time i leave. I like this place, they do good engine work. I have taken my car in multiple times and the last time they had it for 2 full days. I asked them to check the brakes to fix a scraping sound coming out of the drivers side. Didnt make any noise till i got it home. The brakes are still making the same scraping sound. I look through the wheel and i can see where the pad is clamped down on the disk. I just want to be able to drive my car when i get home. I cant. And now i have to find a way to get it back to the shop. The shop closes at 4pm and on the weekends, i barely have enough time to take an uber, that costs 12$ each time i drop it off and pick it up. Ive spent over 2k in the last month and its gonna cost another 1k but im more annoyed about having to go back and forth and it not being taken care of properly. Again, the work they have done has been great, i just wish they had better hours and would fix what i asked when i take in. The guys are great, but id like to not have to go back for a while. read more

I been going to these guys for at least 2 years and have always been happy with their work. Their prices are not the cheapest but are very reliable and get the job done right. If I have an issue they always resolve it at no extra cost. That is right NO EXTRA COSTS. Down the street is AJ Automobile Service which keeps changes their name and are total scumbags. My car brokedown near their shop and they wanted to charge me $400 more than Ghassem who gave me an estimate over the phone and took care of my problem for a reasonable price the same day. I have patronized this guy over the course of many years and many cars. He is the BEST! It doesn't matter what time of day I pull in, he always greets me with a smile and treats me like I'm his only customer--even though his lot is full of other cars, because his secret seems to be out.. As a woman, I can't tell you how many times I've left a mechanic with the feeling I've been a victim of a shake up--but of course not being able to prove it. This is the first mechanic I've been able to trust unequivocally . He fixes only what's needed and gives a very fair price. Bad customer service. After reading all of these wonderful comments, i decided to give them a call. 20 seconds into the call and the guy started talking down to me and jumping the gun. He did not want to give me any information or allow me to express my concerns without contacting the dealership first. If he wasn't so quick to ward me off, I could have told him I ALREADY called the dealership. He started talking real slow and acting aggressive like I know nothing of cars. You do not have my respect if you immediately thing I do not know anything about cars. No, I will not come and drive my car to you so you can disrespect me even further. I recently had a flat tire a few weeks ago on the 710. On a side note, its has terrible roads. Anyways I got my flat tire and had to pull over and switch in with my spare. So the next day, I began my search for selecting tires shops around the area. Since I am fairly new to the city of Long Beach, I took my chances with yelp. Yelp is aways helpful. That said, my evaluation for a shop needed to have at least a 4 star review, excellent comments from users that have visited the business, and a picture of the prices given by the business. I landed with Ghassem because he was the first business that popped up when I adjusted my filtering process. That said, I did my state of the art judgement research of his business and decided to give it a shot. As I arrived, Ghassem (owner of the shop) was very polite and accommodative with my situation. I told him of what happened with the tire and he did his analysis. Since my tire had a nail puncture itself inside, he could not take it out. He had to order a new tire and advised that I return once the tires arrived. The tire did not take long to come so that was great. Total cost amounted to 129.63. Though it may look like hefty charge, it was my tire itself that cost me. It was for a honda 2012 hybrid sedan. Anyways, "Ghas" but how he pronounced it as "gus" is a really nice owner. Highly recommend him as a tire shop to go to in Long beach. Will definitely go to him again if ever faced with this problem. Crossing my fingers it wont happen any time soon. read more

Ghassem's is the best. My son is attending CSULB and is driving a 1998 Volvo. He called a few nights ago to say that his car was making a knocking noise and that it was leaking oil. Because of Ghassem's great yelp reviews, he choose to go there. As his car is old and it is a Volvo (which is already expensive to maintain ) , I was worried that the services would be more than his car is worth. I went here because of all the great reviews on here. I was definitely not disappointed! I am a young female and almost everytime I take my car in somewhere they end up trying to talk me in to buying this or that or telling me that something else needs to be fixed. Not here! I needed my front and rear brakes done and the guy that helped me was extremely nice. He took my car at about noon and called me at about one to let me know what was wrong with my brakes and exactly how much it would cost me before he got started. He told me my car would be done by 5 that very night and he ended up calling before 4:00 with my car finished! It costed me about 380$ for front and back new breaks and they work great. I have had problems with them the past two years and finally they are working right again. Will definitely be back anytime I need a repair or even an oil change. read more

I've been here a few times. To start off positive their oil changes are dirt cheap. They do seem like genuine, honest, good mechanics. However, my car was having trouble starting so I took it in. I told them I believe it was the starter and I had another guy agree with me. They told me it wasn't the starter and that I needed a new battery. I thought it was kinda weird since my battery still seemed good as it wasn't too old. They scan it and everything and change the battery and I get charged like $250. Next day, car won't start. Turns out it was the starter. I called them and said it wasn't starting again and they seemed kinda annoyed that I was telling them this. Guys from AAA were able to recognize it was the starter in like a minute. Told me I would still have to pay for the starter which is understandable but I probably didn't need a new battery. Nice guys but probably won't go back. Mostly positive reviews so maybe I just had bad luck. read more

I live in the neighborhood and have been taking my cars here for at least 7 years. You never know if a mechanic is telling you the truth about repairs they recommend. However, on a few occasions they have talked me out of doing work I thought needed done so I think they are honest. And they have done a few quick free fixes for me. read more

I brought my car in for an essential repair and based on the reviews, I was hoping for an excellent service. I was quoted a certain amount for parts and labor and when it came time for payment, it was in fact a lower cost. Awesome, right? Well, for someone like myself, money is very tight and every penny matters & so with the savings I had before me, I could now buy some groceries I very much needed. A few hours later I was called and told I was given the wrong invoice and that I needed to return it. I of course obliged, everyone makes mistakes, but when I arrived I was then told my repairs cost more than what I payed and therefore I owed more money - the cost of the quote in fact. Regardless of whatever I was quoted, this act is highly unprofessional of a service company and very disappointing.
