Sign and online state hours are 12-9pm on Saturdays. Arrived at 8:13pm and was told "we are closed for the evening." Don't have set closing hours if you are not going to honor that time. It's no wonder this place never has any cars in the parking lot. read more

We picked this place for Mother's Day because we had a coupon that greatly reduced the price for 4 adults. The coupon was current and said nothing about date exceptions. Four adults and three kids meals later it was time to pay. My server took my coupon and returned moments later to say the coupon was not valid on holidays. I asked to speak to the manager who repeated the same and then said she wants the hostess to notify diners that coupons aren't good on holidays and that they put that on their entry sign (see picture). I felt like this was bait and switch which is illegal! Mother's Day is NOT a holiday! The coupon says nothing about date/holiday exceptions! The sign says nothing about coupons not being valid on Mother's Day. The hostess and waitress said nothing in advance about the coupon not being valid. At time of payment the waitress expected the coupon to be ok. This action was nothing short of dishonest and I felt totally ripped off. Pi's, Panda House and Genji are nearby for oriental style food when in the Midland area. We will seriously consider other options before coming to a place that has ripped us off in the past. read more

This evening I had the pleasure of visiting Ghengis Khan. Throughout this pandemic, I've seen restaurants suffer due to staff shortages, and loss of morale. There was no sign of this here. Every employee I interacted with here had a genuine smile, and provided very courteous and prompt service. It was the kind of service where you can just tell that the owners are treating them all right. If they were somehow short staffed tonight, I could not tell. Our server, sadly I cannot remember her name, was very upbeat and helpful, explaining how they serve food here. I was really blown away by tonight's service, I haven't had an experience like this since before Covid. Everything was done right. The food - obviously delicious. Before the cooks were even done preparing my first plate, I turned to my partner and said, "I already want to come here for my birthday." Excellent variety of meat, as well as fresh veggies. They do not skimp on anything and the quality is there in everything I tried. They charge you roughly $17 for all you can eat and it is very reasonably priced if you factor in the quality of food, the fun performance of watching it being cooked, and also the service with a smile. One last tip - Try the pineapple for dessert. You will not be disappointed. The cooks top it with whipped cream, and chocolate syrup. I will be back soon. read more

First time here and let me give you a little lesson . We've been to these type of restaurants before but this is different because you can make multiple trips to the buffet. It's a bit pricey if you aren't a big eater, $14.99, but there is quite an array of choices. Seafood, beef, chicken along with vegetables pasta and rice noodles. They also have several different sauces to choose from to make you meal delicious. There's also a salad bar which doesn't have a lot of variety but still fresh and two different soups. My youngest son (8) loves this place. Has fun with all of the line cooks but is favorite is Moses. He's awesome!!! (This is not a dig by any means. But if your have constipation issues on occasion like I do, this is the place to eat. You will eat alot of great food and feel better after a few hours. I think it's the oil they use on the grill. Works for me.) Best time to come in is during the week after around 1:30 pm. The Dow rush is usually gone with little or no waiting. I'm never really happy after I leave this place. I've only been here twice, but each time I've gotten horrible food poisoning and spent my night with my head in a toilet. Mongolian Barbecue is a buffet with all raw meats and vegetables and sauces. You choose what you want fried and you bring it to the grill and the chefs fry it up for you and then you bring it back to your seat. Voila, you have dinner. I liked the concept, and love their salad bar, but my meat seems like it's always tough, I just can't seem to find a sauce that I particularly like, and as I mentioned before, I always end up sick. No, I didn't see any three-headed squid, but I saw: frozen bay scallops, bad pasta for sauces/stir-fry instead of a more friendly rotini, and the like. The sauces were also fairly mediocre. The food did not turn out that badly, but I was not all that impressed. I'm not saying that BD's is the epitome of fine dining, as it's also fairly generic, but it's a little weird to eat in a clone of something. Dig the funky murals, though! Our family always enjoys eating here. The staff is courteous and the food is amazing especially for the price. Kids 11 and under eat free I believe Monday through Thursday. We prefer to go early in the week because they are extremely busy on the weekends. Good food and friendly service, but the line for getting our concoctions cooked on the grill was prohibitively long. Granted, we went for lunch on Mother's Day so I'm sure it was busier than normal, but the line was - at all times- at least 25 people long waiting to get up to the grill. The restaurant was only at half capacity, at most. We only got one bowl of stir fry because we like to do 2-3 smaller bowls to try different recipes and sauces and thought it would be possible since we got there right when it opened and it wasn't very busy. Instead, we only got one because we didnt want to wait the 30-45 minutes to get our stir fry cooked. The food was very good though, the salad bar offered a lot of variety, and the hot and sour soup was better than most. Next time I'll just be careful to go at a non-crazy busy time! read more

If you have been to the Mongolian Barbecue in Ann Arbor, it's pretty much the same setup. Pick your food from the wide range of food in the middle by the grill. Take the food up to the grill and they do the rest. Your food experience is basically up to you based on what you bring up to cook and what spices you use. They do have recipe cards that you can follow if you want, but whats the fun in that. Be creative and try something different each time you go. The service here is pretty good, each time that I have been here. They are always around and you get the help that you need quick, if you need it. The food was great and service was fast. However the line/wait to get your food cooked can be long. Servers are pretty quick to clear plates and make sure your table isn't full of dirty dishes. Refills on drinks were prompt. Biggest downfall is the wait to get your food cooked. Ghengis Khan's is pretty good! It something new to the area since all of the Mongolian barbecues I've been to in the past are in larger cities. For people who have never been to a Mongolian barbecue before it's basically like a buffet with raw ingredients. You get all of your meats, veggies, sauces, etc. and throw them into a bowl. Then you bring the bowl up to the chefs who toss the ingredients on a big round grill and cook it up for you. It's pretty fun to go to with hungry friends but the building can fit a lot of people and they only have one grill. So when it gets packed, expect a long wait for the grill! read more

Well, the food is what you get when you do this kind of thing, and it was overall tasty enough, but it really just seemed to be missing the wow factor in terms of the sauces.
