This is a long over due review. I was shocked to see the three star rating because they deserve 5 stars! I have been a patron of Giant Cleaners for at least 8 years. Like most people, I wanted a cleaners that provided excellent work at a reasonable price. I've tried a few places in Irvine and their work was good but their prices were so high to where it became unaffordable. So, I decided to search for a new place and was thrilled to have found Giant Cleaners. They are friendly, provide EXCELLENT WORK and SERVICE at a VERY REASONABLE PRICE!! Examples of their excellent customer service: - I had a blouse that had a slight discoloration which was so unnoticeable. They called to let me know and to get my approval prior to cleaning the top. - They greet me by my first name. - They help me carry out my dry cleaning when I have a large quantity, without me even having to ask. I was so surprised because most other cleaners don't offer this type of service. My husband and I have referred our family and will continue to refer more friends and people we know to Giant Cleaners because they are truly the BEST!!! read more

I have been coming to Giant for years. The dry cleaning services are absolutely great!!! You can usually tell how good a dry cleaner is by the amount dry cleaned clothes racked throughout the store. This place is just full of completed orders. I agree with other Yelpers regarding their current tailor. The old tailor did a great job at alterations. I wouldn't go with their new tailor and recommend going elsewhere for alteration needs. read more

Cleaning is fine. Prices are a bit high. Nothing ever came back ruined so I justified the drive and the price for quality. But now I am never going back. The owner lady just asked me why my 8 month old wasn't wearing any socks and continued to say how young moms these days don't really care about how they raise their kids. I've been using this cleaners for years and I always get good results with my suits, pants, shirts, coats, etc. I notice many poor reviews on their tailoring. I haven't used them for tailoring and probably won't based on the experiences of others. However, I have no complaints about their laundry and dry cleaning services. Prices are very reasonable, the clothes smell nice after being cleaned (no weird odor), the people who work there are friendly, there's dedicated parking and they can clean stuff quickly if you're in a rush. read more

The dry cleaning service is all right, but I can vouch for Bryan R.'s complaint about the tailoring quality. I had almost 2inches of excess material when I asked to bring up the original hem on a pair of jeans, and they didn't take in the waist on my slacks as I specified. There are only two things I like about this place. 1. Convenience 2. Friendly staff Other than that, this place is terrible. My shirts come back with weird creases and broken buttons all the time. Get's the job done. It's walking distance from my apartment, and on the way to the 24 hour fitness across the parking lot. He didn't tell me I could launder my dress shirts for $1.50 but instead said dry cleaning for $3.50 each., Either way, no issues with them, and everything was delivered on time. Never any issues. Perfect service plus they do everything in house which I like. If you need something rushed this is the place to do it. I also had two of my wife's purses cleaned here. Now they do send them out since its not their specialty but it was well worth it. Purse came back looking brand new. Plaza parking can be a pain. read more

Don't go here cause this place is like a bunch of thieves. I bring in one shirt for laundry which is $1.90. The male Korean owner said that I cannot just laundry 1 shirt. This is unheard of! I bring 1 shirt to many surrounding cleaners for laundry and they accept it. He said that he would have to charge me $3.98 for cleaning just 1 shirt. So I left the place, but there are surrounding cleaners who charge $1.75 to $1.85 to laundry your shirts and they don't just get greedy and decide since you only have 1 item they want to rob you and charge more. It's unheard of to not accept 1 shirt for cleaning from a dry cleaner for laundry and before you bring your clothes to Giant cleaners make sure you know how much they are charging you. They are not Giant cleaners, they are GIANT robbers! From $1.90(laundry)they want to charge double for 1 shirt at $3.98(dry cleaning). Don't go here if you want to pay double for your dry cleaning and laundry! There are other surrounding dry cleaners who are less expensive in pricing. read more

Giant Dry Clean is a professional place professional people and excellent service. i have utilized similar businesses but have stayed with them for some time. I tell them when I need my cloths (usually in a day or so) and that is when i get my cloths. they get rid of very bad stains and are careful when handling my cloths. I've been going to this family owned business since the early 1990's. Since work clothing is expensive and I'm lazy, I've depended on them to take care of my cleaning. If they mess up they dont accept responsibility. I always get my shirts washed and pressed and one time they gave me my shirts dry cleaned. I told them I didnt ask for that. I was suprised they argued with me about it and told me I did. I told the lady to look in the system and see if I had every asked for my shirts to be dry cleaned. They were nice enough to remove the charges but the entire time they tried to tell me I did ask for dry cleaning (like they remember me out of the hundreds of other clients). When I argued back they began bickering in their language probably talking about how I am a liar. Honestly, if I never got dry cleaning before why would I this time? Lastly I will say everything else has been good. They are on time and will even get it done on the day you request it. For the price and quality, overall it is worth it. Decent price, decent service, but the parking can be bad; however they do have a few designated parking spots. I've been coming here to dry clean my dress shirts and pants for a few years now. One time I brought my beautiful purple sequin skirt for them to dry clean. They rip some of the sequins off the skirt "accidentally" and I ended up paying them extra money to fix it without even getting it clean. Also, some of the clothes that they have already dry clean, don't even smell that clean. You really have to check your garment before you leave the store because they will misplace stuff like removable belts or strips. I am currently looking for another dry cleaner by my house so hopefully I will find someone better!! read more

I thought this place would be great since it always seemed busy and it's in a convenient location, but their service is terrible. They weren't particularly friendly and they didn't even bother to remove the collar stays when they ironed my shirt so now they're all broken. Giant's pricing is based on your "brand" not based on their work. The same light jacket was charged $10.50 at Giant but only $6.50 by the other cleaner in Irvine (same cleaning quality) two months ago. I don't want to be ripped off and won't go back again. I have been going here for many years, and I don't know why except for the fact it is close to my home. They women who run the shop always act like they are doing me a favor. Additionally, they always want to keep my clothes for an entire week. A few days ago, my daughter needed minor alterations. When we asked for quick turn around, the woman was rude to my daughter. My wife and I have been coming here for over five years and couldn't be happier. Every time I come here (which is every week) they always remember my name, smile and thank me for my business. I know it sounds like a simple concept, but it is something that most businesses (especially in this part of Irvine just don't seem to get). I also appreciate that they do all cleaning on-site and do not ship my clothes off to some third party who will not care for them properly. I probably should have done this update sooner, but I never had the chance to since the Holidays put in me in such good spirits that I didn't want to write a scathing review. Anyway, yes, they redid the hemming, but horrifically! My skinny jeans are like bell bottoms, so I just cut off the hem and will let them fray. Hi, I have used this cleaner for many years and about a year ago I switched to one closer to my house. Well I forgot what I was not missing when I came back last week. Now I remember that the employees at Giant Cleaners routinely try to switch your garments from laundry to dry cleaning so they charge you three times more, they don't like to give you a breakdown of your charges when you arrive because then you don't know they did that, and finally their tailoring service is down right horrible. For the first time I used them last week, they made the hole in my garment worse, refused to accept their mistake and then double charged me for fixing it again. I was greeted with a smile when I dropped off my clothes as well as when I picked them up. I am not sure why the rating is so low. Be careful, they do not explain the difference between laundering a shirt and dry cleaning a shirt. They billed me $3.50 per shirt in place of $1.40 and preferred to keep the difference and lose me as a customer. Will not be back! So for a lousy $4 plus, they lose a customer....short term thinking! read more

Giant Cleaners provided very poor laundry services at a very expensive price. My washer is not working and I had to get some men's underwear, socks and shorts and dish towels washed. I took it to Giant Cleaners. I had about 25 pieces of laundry and it cost $15 for the one load for wash and dry only. I did not have them fold it as that would have cost an additional $5! I was very disappointed when I picked up the clothes. I complained that the wash did not get out some very basic dirt that comes out when I use over the counter detergent. The clothes were not soft and the whites were very dingy. The proprietor said her soap was superior and it is only wash and dry so what did I expect. What surprised me the most is she did not seem concerned that a customer was not satisfied with the service she provided. She made it seem as if I expected too much of her!
