I have really grown to love this location and the staff. My drink is always ready on time and it's always just right. But why I love it- is the personal thought they put into what they do even during the times we are facing right now- they always manage to keep the inside clearly labeled for customers to safely navigate; and it's always decorated to fit the cheer that Starbucks brings with every new flavor and season. Updated 4/6/2021 I was hoping that once this Starbucks opened up again inside for customers, they would have fixed the "loud music" situation. However, I did not notice a change as I have been passing through the last couple of weeks. I started going to the new Starbucks in the Kentlands. They do not pipe the music playing inside onto the patio. Again, I don't mind the music, but it's too loud when I can hear other patrons trying to talk over it with my headphones on. Please consider not piping music where the outdoor seating is located. Employees, as always, are very nice and courteous. read more

I stopped by this location on a Sunday afternoon around noon to get some work done; it's the closest Starbucks location to my house, but somehow I'd never been before. There was a good number of parking spaces available outside and the store wasn't very busy when I arrived; there were just a few other customers and I didn't have to wait in line. I ordered a tall iced green tea, unsweetened, which took a bit longer to come out than I'd expected for such a basic drink--I think this might have been because another customer ahead of me had placed a rather large order. The wifi was pretty dependable, and I was able to stay connected with my VPN the entire time. The store had a good amount of seating, but the tables were a bit dirty (e.g. crumbs that hadn't been cleaned up). At some point a previous customer came back in to get her drinks re-made because they hadn't come out the way she wanted; the staff were friendly and obliging about it. The bathrooms appear to have a keypad for a code, but you don't actually need a code to open the door. I've definitely been to some nicer Starbucks locations with more comfortable seating and more space, but overall, this was a pretty middling Starbucks that's a fairly decent choice if you want to get some work done and need wifi. read more

The pictures show what was floating in my caffe latte that the manager Allie brought to me prior to my going to volunteer this afternoon. I complained to starbucks directly, spoke with Juan the shift manager and notified Montgomery County Department of Health. The drink smelled horrible and tasted like there was cleaner in it. Never go to this starbucks. The manger, Allie, needs to be fired since she ordered her staff or she did this herself to a long time customer. read more

We walk in the evenings. Mostly because when you have Labradors, you have to walk them or they become bouncy. Not a ball bouncing eventually stopping, Labrador bouncy that stretches on until all of us are exhausted and take them on a walk. Two of our walk trails wander past our favorite Starbucks. On the corner of the strip mall near the giant and the place, we go for haircuts. We stop by frequently. Normally in the winter it is for hot drinks (coffee for me, Mocha for Luke and Hot Cocoa for Nick). The Labs are fans of the various cookies they offer as well. The place is always clean, which is awesome. Service is good, friendly in fact. They are always amazed at what the dogs have chosen as their treat. Perhaps our dogs are spoiled, but they like stopping at Starbucks. They also like Giant, which is just down the strip mall, but we don't take them into Giant. We don't take them into the Starbucks either. The stand outside waiting for their treat with the boys. Overall a great Starbucks location. I have been to Starbucks around the world. This one is really good! I love the Caramel Frapps but the calories kill me. So a caramel Latte is a good substitute. Luke is a mocha fan year round (hot in the winter and iced in the summer). Nick likes the bottled fruit drinks in the summer and in the winter, hot cocoa! read more

Normally I'm a happy customer. This is my to go Starbucks. Today I got a new girl who didn't know how to make drinks bc she was asking the other person. At least try to watch your new person and train them right! Messed up my husbands coffee. Ice coffee with soy and hazelnut. Handed me just ice coffee. My usual sb double shot w soy and white mocha. Solid 4 out of 5 Stars!! Now this has to be one of the friendliest most efficient heroin dealers around....Coffee Shop I mean Coffee Shop!! I know that Starbucks is virtually on every corner of every street in the continental United States and that most people are religious regulars of their local coffee shop. Now I cant officially say that I am a regular, but I have been in this place enough times to know that the creepy dude in the corner with his Macbook in his lap, iPhone on the table and headphones plugged in, is trying a little to hard to be ultra cool. We get it dude....You ordered a "Grande, decaf, extra-hot soy Americano with extra foam".....Congratulations Buddy...you are now Hip!! Anyways, this place is never to crowded, because I don't go during peek hours, the staff is friendly and they make my drinks quickly. What more can you ask for. I have come to appreciate a good barista when I see one, and know that a good tip goes a long way when it comes to future trips to my local Starbucks. It's a Starbucks. You pretty much know what you're getting. Speaking about the people there, though, that's another matter. The barista making the beverages was fast and efficient. I think she might have been a manager, since she was coaching the cashier on his cup-writing abilities. As for the cashier, didn't notice us when we walked in and pointedly looked away for many seconds before she used her eyes to direct his eyes to the three customers in front of him. Either turn down the music in there, train your employees to be more attentive to the front door, or find a better system to make a first impression. Oh, and don't loudly proclaim you're leaving in 5 minutes. We get that you're an hourly employee at a Starbucks, and that's totally cool. But, maybe try to treat your job more like a career and it will do likewise to you. Plus, that's very off-putting to your customers. You don't see us cheering as we watch the clock at our offices, do you? Well, anyway... I'm not often up here, but if I were, I would probably still be a Sbux customer at this location. If the service is consistent like this, though, then I'm not so sure. read more

I'm normally a Dunkin' girl, but I do love this Starbucks. Occasionally, I order through the app and swing by to pick up. The location is convenient. Right between a Giant and a gas station. My orders are always ready in record time and made well. I ask for non-dairy milk and have always gotten it (trust me, I would know if it wasn't...). The staff is also always friendly. They always say hi and thank you, even when they're clearly busy. I appreciate that. I highly recommend this Starbucks for your coffee needs. read more

It's difficult to rate Starbucks because they're all should be the same, but this is for service. If you go during rush hours (early morning), you want to make sure you have some times to spare so you're not late for work or school or wherever you're heading off to. For some reasons, it often takes them a really long time to make drinks (with or without long line). There have been multiple occasions where I have to wait literally 10 mins for a simple lemonade tea (not being dramatic, but 10 minutes literally is a long time). Every time I say "today probably won't be too long" and walk in, I regret it every time. It has gotten better over time, but few months back you would walk in and see their baristas screaming, yelling, & laughing loudly with each other (but no drinks are being made....). It was quite unprofessional. But what do I know.. Anywho, don't come here if you're in a rush. Although, I do appreciate their display of local artists' works. This Starbucks was my main one I go to, but lately the service has been terrible. They used to be friendly and made drinks very well, but as of late the quality of drinks and service has gone down significantly. The staff are not pleasant, and are more abrasive than anything. The drinks don't taste right and seem to be made incorrectly. For example, the Strawberry Açaí refresher was very watered down, did not have much taste to it. Also, a Mocha Frappuccino tastes like it is filled with too much crushed ice and old coffee. On top of it all they forget half of orders while others sit and get cold/room temp. I usually have great experiences in area Starbucks. Friendly faces, smiles, and an exchange of greetings and farewells. The two previous times I visited this Starbucks seemed like any other. This morning was different. This morning, I attempted to convey my order to the cashier who got it wrong on three occasions. I acknowledge that it is entirely possible that I was mumbling. I order this drink each and every time I go to other local Starbucks - the only thing different this morning was the size. "Grande Soy Mocha" was met by a curious stare and a question as to whether or not I wanted soy milk. So I said yes and again repeated "Grande Soy Mocha." The cashier reached for a grande cold cup. I apologized (assuming it was my mistake) and informed the cashier that I was asking for a hot drink. The cashier returned the cold cup for a grande hot cup, had a quick exchange with the barista, and the barista relayed my order as a "Soy steamer". I again apologized (once again assuming it was my mistake) and said that I should try again. I again repeated my order to both the cashier and the barista and it was finally understood that I wanted a Grande Cafe Mocha made with Soy milk instead of Cows milk. The barista looked at me, tilted her head to the side, and said, "What? You not awake yet this morning?" I was shocked and incensed. While I had recently experienced a grumpy drive-thru operator at the Mount Airy, MD location, this was the first time that I had experienced such a blatant disregard for professionalism, decency, and courtesy from a Starbucks employee. I didn't respond directly or maybe I offered an "I guess not". I paid for my drink and food and left. I won't visit this Starbucks location again. read more

Now I definitely wouldn't say Starbucks is my favorite coffee shop but when in need of a cup they are easy to find. I stopped in after the gym and ordered a tall black. Guy behind the counter informed me it'll be a couple of minutes to make a fresh pot instead of giving me the crap on the bottom. I was in no rush and was willing to to wait. I sat down and jumped on the wifi. After a minute or two the same guy came over with a coupon for a free cup of coffee. Starbucks is normally known for their excellent customer service, right? It was my first time at this location. Walked in around 8PM. The store was empty except for two people who were seated. The Batista and another employee were talking to what seemed like a friend of theirs. I stood there for a good five minutes, exchanged eye contact with both employees and not once did they greet me or even say "Be right with you maam" The lady just stared at me as if I was stupid for standing there and continued on ignoring my presence. I left the store without ordering and I will never return to this location again. read more

This is probably one of the slowest Starbucks I've been too. And yes, I drink a lot of coffee. This morning is probably the worst I've has yet. It took several minutes even to be acknowledged. Then more time to order my drink. Not because it was busy, but the staff was moving slowly with no sense of urgency or friendliness. I work on Saturday morning, I don't have time to sit back and leisurely wait for a coffee. Never had a good experience at this Starbucks. In no way have all Starbucks experiences been as bad so please don't be deterred to the brand in general most other places are very helpful, accommodating, and personable; bit for some reason in my 5 to 6 times here they manage to mess something up each time. From over charging, to putting in dairy milk as oppose to soy, to not accepting a discount code because they couldn't be sure it "was legit or [i was] scamming [them.]" every time the I called the manager over and they refused to so anything all with attitude each time.
