I have to have shoulder replacement surgery and a double mastectomy. But they don't know that or why I was prescribed meds. So they flagged my meds and told me I can't get the meds. I really hate this establishment and will now be going to the giant located in Ritchie high way because I'm sick of the unethical treatment from people who make $7-10 an hour doing a job that teens in high school can do. What happened to this store? I just had the worst experience I've ever had in any grocery store. I didn't grab a cart cause I only needed a few things but seen that the Dr Pepper cream 6-pack bottles were on sale, so I lugged four of them around in my hands. Got up front and they didn't ring up on sale. Girl came over to help and went to check and tells me "it's just the cans on sale" So I walked back there with her and showed her the sign that was 100% there when I grabbed them. Myself and another customer grabbed a total of 8 packs and all that was left was a row of diet in back. She said she could only honor the price on the diets, even after we explained that they came from that exact spot and that's what the barcode read as well. She tore the sign down and said that's the best she could do. Customers should not have to be burdened with the neglect of the employees. It's not our fault so many people don't do their job at this store. This was all on top of the fact that I came to buy Mrs's Budd's pot pies, that they didn't have out and no one even in the meat department at 4:45pm to ask if they had them in the back. It's a real shame cause I worked at this location for ten years until they stopped cutting meat in house. Officially done with Giant Food. Five stars to Dr. Rupal and Pharmacy Assistant Quiana for their help in getting a critical prescription filled in a flash for an elderly neighbor. One star for the self-checkout registers, which raise their electronic voices to an emotional fever pitch -- and sometimes shut down the scanning process entirely -- *as you are putting your scanned groceries into the waiting plastic bag on the registers' sensor floor. Does Giant management really believe that shoplifters are going to cease their nefarious activities because the AI register is mad at them? No, they are not, which means that honest customers are needlessly punished for this poorly-timed, abusive shopping experience, one that costs an arm and a leg these days. I admit I did not do any shopping there but my first and only experience there with one particular Giant employee was not great. It was not a huge argument or anything like that but just the unwillingness for this one young lady to do her job. I went into this store because I wanted to purchase and EZ Pass and I happened to be in the area that night. I figured I would go in and knock this off my to do list since there are only a few retailers of this device authorized to sell it. I went in about 930 and asked the young lady who was working behind customer service that I wanted to purchase an EX Pass. Instead of saying sure she replied with a statement that made me want to go off but I remained cool. She asked, "Do you really need one tonight because I just locked them up." The audacity to ask a customer if they need an item they are asking for at 930 at night shows the laziness and piss poor customer service this place displayed. I told her yes I am here and I came here specifically to get this item. So to her dismay she walked away an entire 60 feet to where the EZ Pass devices were located and walked back. The entire time was about 75 seconds for her to come back with the item. I guess I really made her go out of her way to do her job. Customer service is DEAD and this particular Giant is supplying the ammo to further kill it. read more

I am not sure either why so many negative reviews, though I do notice that they are mostly years old and seem to be from "immature" people from out of state. (even one commenting a generalization about anything in Glen Burnie is beneath them) I have been going to this Giant for many years and have always found the employees friendly and helpful and the store always clean (even during snow storms when everyone is dragging in snow and mud etc) I also notice on comment about parking lot and location terrible..?? The HUGE parking lot that is right off Crain Highway That has 3 entrances that lead into the parking lot.... Are we talking about the same Giant??? I told the pharmacy clerk you all should be honest about your wait times I called this in over a hour ago. No apology, nothing. Just asked are you going to wait for it? I said well yes I'm out and need this for tonight. She said ok 20 minutes and hands me a number (20). That was 30 minutes ago and I'm still waiting. I have shopped at Giant food for decades. I called the one on Crain hey. I needed to shop and asked if I could get a prescription filled. It's for 7 pills since I got several teeth pulled. I live nearby so this is my "go to grocery store". I have been a little disgusted for about 2 months now. I have started to notice the expiration dates on some items (i.e. the fish sauce expired in 2012 and is literally still sitting on the shelf). I brought this to a cashier's attention, she called and told the service desk and its still on the shelves! I have laid the fish sauce down on the shelf so the person who is stocking or straightening can see the expiration date. I have turned the bottle outwards so the expiration date is showing...and it still sits on the shelf. Also, there is a girl at the deli counter who is every sooooo slllloooowww and is more chatty with 1 person than bothering to acknowledge the other 6 patrons standing around waiting to be served. Their deli area is just about the worst (besides this one guy who is always so friendly and happy). When I see that one girl I hope the kiosk is working, or I compromise for the week and buy prepackaged deli meat. I have also noticed that the self checkout lines are not monitored well. Numerous times when I have an "issue" and my light starts blinking, I have to go get someone from the service desk because no one is paying attention. Other cashiers are not sure how to split the bill onto 2 cards. Veggies (i.e. cucumbers are always mushy), make sure you take your time when purchasing produce. The bakery always has grouchy older women working. Best part is the seafood department. They are sooo nice, kind, considerate and helpful. Also, the meat department guys have come out to help in seafood if they notice someone has been standing and waiting for assistance. Back corner of Giant is GREAT :) I also wish they sold the vegetable spaghetti noodles by garden delights. I have made the request in the past but obviously they don't really care. read more

Im guessing the lady was new but the other lady at customer service desk wasn't. I told her how much for the money order and said you have to pay by cash and not card.. The sea food department use to be the best department in this store. I emphasize the words USE TO BE. Tonight a person who waited on me actually asked me if I wanted something else instead of the salmon fillet I asked for. I told him no, I wanted the fillet and I wanted it skinned. Then he weighed the fillet before skinning it. After he skinned it, I asked him if he would weigh it again.(Makes sense that it now weighs less and I did not want to pay for the skin.) The man started yelling at me that he knew what he was doing and you should always charge for what the fish costs with the skin on it. He yelled that he has worked with fish for over 25 years. Needless to say he had a long line of customers listening to him publicly embarrassing me. This is really the worst pharmacy around. Several times I've called in prescriptions, been told when I can pick it up, travel there only to find out they are out of the drug and didn't bother to call and let me know. Then when I'm told it'll be ready again at a certain time/day - nope, they didn't receive the whole thing so if I need it I can come get half of it and then make another trip to get the next half. And there is always a waite - I don't think they have enough desk help. I like going there to do my grocery shopping but I have had it with the pharmacy and will be changing today. Giant carries almost everything you could possibly want. I especially like the produce. I eat fresh fruit and veggies almost exclusively.

Watch out WHole Foods and Wegmans, Neighborhood Giant is in the game now! This is my neighborhood store and I so want to spend my hard earned dollars close to home. They have added an organic section that has the products I look for when I would make the LONG trip to Wegmans and Whole Foods. NOW they have gone over the top by having Siggi icelandic madagascar vanilla yogurt. It is the best in the whole world and sweetned by agave! Only problem is they can't seem to keep enough on the shelves. I am going to place a personal order so I can support my neighborhood grocery! read more
