Last night was one of those rare nights when the Mrs. says, "Let's go to Station Craft San Clemente, I hear it's good." I jump at the chance for pizza! Get to the store, Ella greets us and is tremendously helpful throughout the whole evening! We didn't really interact with any other staff members but Ella is a fantastic person to have on the team! And judging by the rest of meal, the rest of the team is amazing, as well. We ordered the Meatball Bianca with a side house salad and a pizza with pepperoni, mushrooms, and bell peppers. Oh. My. Gosh. Everything tasted so fresh, and was served quickly. Even the salad was good (I had a few bites but I'm not much of salad guy, this salad could change my mind!) A mishap with a beverage was quickly cleaned up and a replacement arrived instantaneously. It was a great meal with great service. We will be back! Thanks Ella! I have to tell you if you want to go somewhere creative and beautiful. It has really good pizza wonderful outdoor seating and all sorts of craft beers on tap. This is where you go now me personally I can't drink alcohol anymore, but I'll tell you right now that's OK. that didn't stop me from trying one of their pizzas. They have a lot to offer but if you're really gonna show up, you gotta try the meatball set too or the chicken Caesar wrap, but I had to do the Suprema, but I had to do it without olives, but I wasn't disappointed although I really think I should've ordered a large but when I come back, I'm gonna have to try the chef Shiba's cheesecake if I wouldn't have eaten so much I'd be eating it right now. Great space with indoor and outdoor dining options. The smoked chicken wings are probably the tastiest and unique I've had, and crave them often - and I'm not normally a fan of wings! They're smoked and dry rubbed instead of gooey and sticky. Their pizzas are unique combinations, and you can get personal sized and even do half half toppings of the large size. This place is one of the very best for pizza and beer in San Clemente. The beer is locally brewed in Dana Point, it is a bit pricy but it is 100 percent worth it! My personal favorite is the Hippolyte Haze, it is an IPA with some tropical flavors. The service is pretty good for a casual dining place. I always get greeted when I come in with my partner and they make sure to make sure we are satisfied with our food and drinks. My favorite pizza to get is the Big Kahuna, Black and Blue, Surfing Cowboy, and the Margarita. Honestly they have so many pizza flavors and you can build your own if you'd like that. They also have a speciality pizza as well if you're looking for a secret menu type thing. Overall, I don't think you will be disappointed with the big beer selection and pizza menu. The golf buddies and I have lunch after our weekly game at the SC Muni. Usually we go to Daily's, but venture off to other options as well. Since Station Craft is near where I live and recently opened, I suggested we give it a go this week. Upon getting there, we reviewed the menu which has salads, wings, knots and pizza for the most part. I asked about the menu and if it will be expanding and was told that they are concentrating on the pizza as the mainstay for now. I did notice from menu's I saw linked to their other location, the offering was more of a variety so I was hoping for this at this location. They have a large variety of craft beers available, so I ordered their version of a Belgian White. Quite delicious and with 10% alc it was a solid kick! For lunch I ordered the personal size Suprema - pepperoni, red sauce, linguiza, mozzerella, red onion, green bell pepper. Delicious. Nice crust. Perfectly cooked. 4 stars. Also, I ordered the wings for us to share at the table. It was a surprise when they were put down as I expected them tossed in buffalo sauce, but they were dry rubbed and a small amount of buffalo sauce and ranch were on the side. The wings were OK, but I felt like they had too much rub and that was distracting to me. The buddies all just had one to try and passed having another. I would pass on having these again. The servers and the manager were super nice and friendly. 5 stars. Overall it was an OK experience. I wish them much success and I will come back with The Wife to try other pizzas. San Clemente seemingly has had a rush of pizza places open, so they will certainly compete. We enjoyed Cassanos, the previous restaurant in the same location. Station Craft opened a taproom/pizzeria on El Camino Real a few months ago in what was last Cassano's, a local institution that for decades was located across from the pier but probably relocated due to rent. This new place deserves a visit for a number of reasons: 15 craft beers, some from local sources, pizzas that are cleverly and intelligently crafted and a cool surftown vibe complete with an outdoor patio. The location on El Camino Real is a bit south of the Del Mar main drag but you can avoid the crowds and parking hassles with that usually busy area. Many of the beers are brewed in house (those are available in cans to go, too, though I was disappointed to not find any browns and reds on tap. The only other disappointment was the garlic butter bread knots ($14). As you can see in the picture, you get what looks like four rolls with a garlic bit on top. If you've had that garlic pull apart bread at Truly Pizza in Dana Point, this will not measure up. But on to the good news. We ordered the surfing cowboy pizza ($27 large) and were just stunned by the artistry. There is a barbecue sauce base, smoked brisket chunks, the thinnest strips of red onion, pepperoncini chunks and these crispy shallots spread all over with a bit of cilantro sprinkled on the mozzarella. I loved the way the brisket didn't dominate--those vegetables did, particularly the crispy shallots. The crust was perfect--brown on the bottom, not too thick or too thin. Daily specials include half off large pizzas when dining in on Monday or Tuesday OR half off a large takeout pizza on those days when you buy a four-pack of their beer. read more

I feel guilty, giving this a three out of five, but it is simply because of their new menu. Please know this is a consensus of many people that we have talked to. It is simply this, bring back a personal size pizzas! This was a place that I used to go with my wife for dinner or with my son and I don't wanna get a full-size pizza. I know they will stay that you can bring it home, but it is never the same. I also know that if you wanted two different kinds, you could split a pizza in half but it is not the same. Talking to my neighbors we all agree that there were many times we wanted to go back for a date night, but chose someplace else simply because we didn't want to get a large pizza. I recently visited this clean restaurant for the first time and had a mixed experience. The hostess was very welcoming and kind, which was a great start. However, things took a turn when I sat at the bar. The bartender didn't acknowledge me for about six minutes as he focused on another couple on the opposite side, despite there only being two other people in the entire restaurant. I almost left before he finally came over to take my order. Only because I am a commercial lighting designer/producer, I noticed their fixtures were very boring and not hung properly. Their business would improve with some professional tweaks in that area but they are not asking for my help. Haha. While I didn't try their pizza, I sampled their wine, which unfortunately was not very good or of high quality. I ordered a pasta salad, but it was quite disappointing--the pasta was hard, undercooked, and stuck together. There just weren't enough tomatoes and mozzarella to complement the pasta, so I ended up taking it home. The server did offer more mozzarella, but overall, the dish lacked flavor and was pretty bland. I managed to improve the salad over the next couple of days at home by adding chicken, shredded Parmesan, cooking the pasta further, and mixing in additional seasonings and avocado. That made it much more enjoyable. Maybe that was their intention- was to give you a basic dish and you are supposed to take it home and spruce it up. Overall, I'm unsure if I will return. For those who enjoy beer, they had a solid selection, but since I don't drink beer, I found their wine options lacking. I appreciated the bartender allowing me to taste the wine before ordering, but I ultimately decided on just one glass and left. Maybe their pizza is the bomb so I may try it if all other dining options are gone. I hope my experience was just an off day for them. read more

The food was alright. I got the Margherita pizza from them, and I may be nit picking but I feel like having it made in a stove oven is essential for one. The ambience is pretty nice, very calm. I don't know what to say about the service though, it wasn't great, and wasn't bad. They gave us the food, took our orders, but we didn't really get any refills for the water. I may not know how that works at this specific place, but usually they would just see your glass is empty and ask if you'd like a refill. Always been a long time fan of Station Craft at their Dana Point location. As a San Clemente resident, we finally made it here. Interesting to read some of the other reviews. Crazy how pizza have such a cult following based on style. New York, Chicago, Detroit, etc. Even though they dont state it, but I'm guessing they are a fan of one or the other and if this doesn't fit, it must be awful. From a food perspective, I thought the pizzas we got were great. Crust was slightly crisp with a nice chew to it. Not too thin or thick. Sauce had a nice hearty flavor to it. Meat sweat pizza had super good bacon as well as smoked brisket, pepperoni, and sausage. Surfin cowboy had a nice spice to it, BBQ sauce, brisket and more. Service was quick and attentive.
