Another great night at Gibronis. Arrived with another couple to a hoard of 3 year olds running amuck in every crevice of the place. Loud and crazy. We considered our options and firmly decided we wanted Gibronis pizza so we amazingly found a table for four and sat down. The kids were having a blast and as two empty nester couples, we laughed about going to places around SC with our wild kids 18 or so years ago. Laughed at the parents chasing their kids around. We had our usual, the Bouzouki Sticks and The D pizza. YUM! We always have plenty to take home to enjoy later. Especially with the excellent reheating instructions on the box! There's no other way to put this, Gibroni's is a top if not thee top pizza in OC. I have read so many reviews and finally got a chance to try it and it did not disappoint. My friend and I ordered the pepperoni pizza and it was plenty for two people. My friend and I absolutely devoured the pizza it was so delicious. The crisp yet fluffy crust was definitely the highlight, but I also thought their pizza sauce was on point. It was light, bright, good tomato flavor which balanced the richness of the rest of the pizza nicely. The service was friendly and there was plenty of seating to hang out and chill. I wish you got a little bit more for the price but overall they were very good. This is a good place to go. EASILY the best Detroit-style slice I've ever had and arguably the best slice of any style in Southern California. I had to pick my jaw up from the floor after the fungi and the pepperoni was very good as well. We visited this place on Saturday afternoon and it was so good! From the aesthetic, to the super nice staff, and the bomb dot com food! We got pizzas-- however we demolished them before I could take a pic :( they were SO GOOD! I probably could had a whole one to myself. We also got the kids Mac & Cheese for the littles and it was delicious. Wings were 10/10 Never tried this brand of root beer and I'm obsessed! It's a great place to go with friends or even solo. Wowowowow! I am so glad I found this place! My wife wanted to find a spot to meet up with her brother, and first mentioned, Pizza Port. I said, no way, we've been there too many times, let's try to find another place. I looked on Google Maps and found this little gem close by. I immediately went to Yelp to learn more, and I immediately fell in love with the pictures. I said, HERE, THIS IS WHERE WE MUST MEET THEM! We get to this place, and it's decked out in Detroit gear. There are a few booths, and nice couch area, and then a dining area that has a stage for, I guess, karaoke and live music. COOL! There's also a Cadillac corner booth, which was rad so of course we sat there! There was also a large bar for all your beverage needs. We ordered online because the line is long, however, please note, your pizza will come in a box! I feel like this hindered my first tasting experience (more on that soon). We got the pepperoni pizza and a custom pizza (pineapple and kalamata olives). I also ordered some wings because I was super hungry. We went back to the counter to pick up our order near our timeslot, and brought it back to our table. The pizza is so wonderful and beautiful. The pepperoni pizza was SHOWERED with roni cups. roni cups on top of roni cups and crisped together to be fused into one big roni cup king. Delicious. My wife likes her pizza as well -- it was definitely huge! I tried to finish mine, but I couldn't. We could have easily split one pizza here and be FULL. But, I also ate all my wings... so... nevermind... OK, so here's why I think ordering online hindered my tasting experience. I noticed folks who dined in got their pizzas on a nice metal tray. the box will cause the steam from the hot pizza to circulate, which can affect the crispiness of things. so when we got our pizza, it was kind of floppity... but it didn't ruin the wonderful taste of the pizza. I didn't knock any stars for that! The pizza was GREAT!!! I still dream about it!! The service here was amazing - super friendly. Been curious on this spot for a few weeks now, as I heard about it from a friend. And it was pretty good! I really liked the ratio of the dough they had going on. Not too thick, not too thin - jussssst right as a Detroit style pizza. Their marinara on their pizza was also great. I liked the touch of oregano on their pizza sticks as well, was a fun little pop of flavor. Their crunch on the edge piece and overall pie was perfect. I was however pretty bummed out to see them using store bought croutons and then using store bought ranch AND charging $2 a cup. If you're going to charge for ranch, take the time to make it. Salt levels on the double pep were also a bit too high, but I could be being sensative to that. And lastly, ease up the oil, by at least 25%. I felt that while the crunch of the pizza was perfect, I felt oil spewing out of every bite. I couldn't go past two slices without "feeling it". It's good pizza, but not great. It hits a spot for sure, being hearty and comforting. Would I actively come back? Probably not. But if I was feeling lazy and didn't wanna make my own pie, I would. read more

My wife and I returned the following Sunday to try more items. This time we ordered the From The D pizza and the Buffalo Chicken salad. The salad was awesome. Once again the vegetable ingredients were super fresh and tasty. From The D was the best pepperoni pizza we've had but we thought The Fun Guys pizza suited our preferences more. We weren't disappointed at all. It's just hard to top the Fun Guys. The restaurant was packed due to the FIFA game that afternoon so it wasn't easy to find a table. Gibroni's was the perfect place to host our casual wedding rehearsal dinner and welcome party! We were able to reserve an indoor-outdoor space for our 30 guests, which included TV's and a hockey table game. It was a fun, comfortable, and laid back vibe. Michele from the catering team was so easy to work with and even went the extra mile to ensure that the beer we preferred would be available for us. We were able to serve a variety of items from the menu to our guests, without essentially paying for a second wedding dinner. Importantly, everyone really enjoyed the food. Stopped by for the first time last weekend and wanted to grab a couple slices after hearing so much about how fantastic the pizza was from friends who have recommended this spot to me. The theming and and overall ambience were pretty lively as there was plenty of people dining in and drinking at the bar. The staff were friendly and helpful with any questions I had with the menu and they are well-known for their Detroit-style pizza. I will say the pizza here is absolutely delicious and some of the best Detroit-style pizza I've had. The crust on the slices was crispy and crunchy and the cheese pull was great and I loved that they topped the slices off with some parmesan and used fresh tomato sauce. The I got the Baba & From the D slices and they were quite filling. I will unfortunately have to dock 1 star from my review since I had to wait 33 minutes for my 2 slices. The staff told me that they ran out of slices so they had to make a whole new pie and that's why it took so long but I just wish they had told me ahead of time since I was on a little bit of a time crunch. Other than that minor issue, I highly recommend checking out Gibroni's as their pizza is delicious and it's a great spot to come watch sports or hang out with friends and family. Came here to see one of our friend's bands play during their live music sets and the food was surprisingly good. Like really good! We got the fun guys pizza that had mushrooms, sausage, truffle oil and some other things I can't remember. The cheese is delicious and the crust held up perfectly.
