Casey was SO friendly & helpful with our tire that needed a plug from a slow leak caused by a nail. He saved the day, as we were headed into a 6 hour drive with minimal services. He had us in & out in under 30 minutes, and was happy to chat to our youngest son (who is interested in all things auto related) about what he was doing. I miss Sammy!!! Manager would not put in a tube on a Bobcat tire. Did not even look at it. Said it was Dangerous to do so. Vehicle never goes over 3MPH just how dangerous could it be. Also quoted 35$ per tire to Mount and Balance my tires. I will go to CO OP from now on. read more

If you've been in Durango log enough to remember when Sammy managed Peerless then you know what kind of service he provided. Always top notch, professional and friendly. My business traded with Peerless for 26 years. That included my personal vehicles and my kids vehicles. After Sammy left i had them put new tires on my truck with the understanding I wanted the old tires saved. They still had decent tread left and would easily run another summer, they just were'nt winter tires anymore. When I picked my truck up the old tires were bagged and in the back of the truck. I paid and took the old tires to my shop for storage until next summer. When I unloaded them they were severely damaged. Three had the bead wall torn in multiple places. I loaded back up and returned to Peerless. The then manager appoligized and gave me his card with the damage to my tires noted and signed by him with the understanding we'd make a price adjutment on my next set. Today I presented the business card to the current manager and was treated absolutely rude, and he would not stand behind their mistake. It's a shame to treat an old loyal customer with that mush distain. The right solution would have been to offer and adjustment and keep a loyal customer. Shameful at best. We developed a serious leak in one of the rear dual tires on our 25' motor home enroute to Phoenix. Our tour guide with Mild & Wild Jeep Tours, David, recommended Peerless Tires in Durango. We got immediate attention and the tech found a leaky valve. They had to remove the tire and install a new valve, The tech remounted the wheel and, very professionally, used a torque . wrench to assure the mounting bolts were tightened to the proper torque. He then made sure each of the other 5 tires were inflated to spec. When I was ready to pay, he said "no charge". One just does not find this attitude and service anymore. I'd give them a 10 if I could. Had a flat on the highway - nail in the tread. Put air in the tire and drove it in. Busy Saturday afternoon - but they took care of it - I had to wait but that's to be expected because they were taking care of appointments. They took the tire off the rim patched the flat ( not just plugged) and then NO CHARGE- refused even when I insisted. If I lived here I would be a life customer- so do me a favor and patronize these great folks. read more

I just returned from buying my 4th (maybe 5th?) set of tires from Peerless Tires on Main Street in Durango. It isn't the pricing that brings me back to your shop so much as it is the attitude of the people who work there, from the front desk people to the guys who are in the shop. As customer I get the impression that the crew values my time and works toward a single goal: to process the car as quickly as possible and get me back on the road and back to my Life. It's impressive that everyone seems happy and focused...no one is standing idle; there is constant motion as everyone pitches in and it contributes to the overall feeling of a successful operation. I had a great experience with this store last week while visiting from out of town. I had come over wolf creek pass and knew instantly I needed new tires after that drive. The employees at Peerless couldn't have been more helpful. I found the tires I wanted at a fair price and they were installed in less than half an hour. Amazing! We were driving through Durango and my husband noticed wear on the tires. In the morning he went to the local dealership and without looking they said we would need 4 new tires. So my husband called peerless tires and they said they could have his wheels rotated in 20 minutes. They looked and the tires and said we had at least another 5000 miles left on the tire. I brought a flat tire in for repair, they did it lickety-split and put my spare tire back in its complicated mounting spot under my van. Awesome service. The guys here bust their @$$, as they always seem busy when I stop to get gas (which is the cheapest in town BTW). Had a flat that needed to be plugged and after a 15-20min wait (which I consider to be nothing especially given the fact I just dropped in, and they were swamped) he didn't even charge me and apologized I had to wait "so long". I had had a flat and had to buy a new spare back in Illinois where I live. The guy there said I still had about ten thousand miles left on my old tires. I told him I would be going to Colorado and driving off-road. He said "no problem, your tires are fine". We'll, guess what. I had a flat up at Summitville and had to put on the new spare. So when I got to Durango I decided to buy three more tires and have a complete new set. I called several places in town and Peerless was the only place that had tires to match the new spare I had bought. All the other stores were very nice on the phone but none could help me unless I bought four new tires or waited till they could get what I wanted. When I got to Peerless they were great. Very friendly. Even apologized about how long it took, and it was the fastest I had ever had tires replaced! The three tires cost me less per tire than the one I bought in Illinois. I would highly recommend this place to anyone. read more
