Before watching the movie, we decided to try the chicken at Gilson Korean restaurant. The golden, saucy chicken and the seafood tofu soup were so delicious! We didn't realize the portions would be so big, totally worth it for the leftovers. The server was very nice, and even though he was the only one working, he was quick and easy to communicate with. The place has a great vibe, and we were glad to get a non-KBBQ table, so we didn't leave smelling like food. We loved it, such a great find! I forgot to capture everything we try to rush for only one hour before we watch a movie.

FOOD: Phenomenal food. The fried chicken is phenomenal and life changing. I've tried a lot of fried chicken and nothing has ever come close to beating the fried chicken from this restaurant. 1000/10 Service: Great service, kind people, can't complain. 10/10 Ambiance: Love the lighting, nice hole-in-the-wall place. 10/10

Some of the best Bossam I ever had. Also ordered a Kimchee stew but forgot to take a picture of it. Will be back next time I'm craving Bossam

Absolutely amazing food! We ordered full entrees off the menu and did not do the kbbq so this review will not include that. Initially they showed us to a large spacious table for our party of 6 but after we said we werent interested in bbq they moved us to a corner table in the back. The new table was smaller and cramped, luckily this was the only annoyance and the food was so dang good I didnt care afterwards. We ordered the Bossam, its 40+$ but easily shares with with our party of 6. If I did not come with friends I wouldve never known to order this and it was amazing. So much steamed pork belly served fresh kimchi, garlic and jalapeno I immediately want to come back. We also ordered a seafood pancake and the intestines with toepokki, every dish was full of flavor, crispy, and filling. Cant recommend this place enough.

The fried chicken was crisp and flavorful, next time would get the sauce on the side (personal preference)

Good experience, would go back. Pleasant and reasonably attentive service. Food exceeded expectations.

Been here twice and forgot to review the first time. I got a beef soup the first time and then jokbal with another soup another time. All of the food is very good and same with the banchan. Didn't do the kbbq so no idea how that was but I really enjoyed the things that I ordered. Service is usually pretty quick and they weren't too busy the times I've gone but it's been later in the evenings.

We tried bossam, which was soooooo good. I can say this is the best bossa in this area. I think they make their kimchi themselves. It doesn't taste the same as market kimchi. It's unique and super tasty. I'm already coming here often to eat this bossa. Other dishes are so good too. You should definitely come and try. The ambiance is like common Korean authentic restaurant, it gives you nostalgic feeling. Also, the servers are so kind and gives you the best service.

The food is delicious, the atmosphere is good, the inside is clean, the bathroom is clean, I like everything except the service, which is not very good. There are not enough employees for the number of guests who come to eat in the restaurant. The employees try to avoid their eyes, not daring to look at the customers' faces for fear that the customers will call them. By the time we could call the staff, we had eaten until we were full and we just wanted more things. By the time we could call the staff, we didn't need those things.

WOW! Love, love, love this restaurant! Here in Edmonds to visit my daughter and stopped by for dinner. Service was Sooo nice and the place looks so cozy! Love it. Oh my the food was the BEST!!!

Food/Taste/Flavor: 5/5 - Spicy Pork Intestines was a bit sweet but so good! The rice cake was cooked well and still had a chewy texture without becoming too tough or mushy. Texture was a bit chewier than expected rather than super crispy. It looked like a small serving initially but quite filling Soft Tofu Soup with beef was a bit sweet too which was surprising initially and a bit too much at the end. The tofu was so soft and the meat actually absorbed the soup flavor Spicy Cold Noodles was a generous serving. Simple with just lettuce, cabbage, and noodles with sauce but very satisfying. Ambience: N/A - ordered food to go. Have pop songs on which is a bit loud. Not very good ventilation. Very rustic feel Service: 5/5 - very attentive for the to go orders even when 4 parties walked in within 5 minutes of each other Value for price: 4/5 - the protein dishes are all quite pricey and we decided not to get KBBQ due to price and minimum of 2 proteins. However, everything we got was tasty even if a bit on the sweeter side.

Small Korean restaurant in Edmonds located in its own building in the parking lot of a plaza along Hwy 99. Got to Edmonds at around 8pm due to ferry delays. The other Asian restaurants were either closed or weren't seating new customers, but this place was open until 11pm. The place was quite lively when we got there and most of the seats were taken as we were dining. They serve a variety of Korean dishes. Korean BBQ is available, but not all of the tables have grills. We got an order of the fried wings which was 16 total pieces. We got half with the sauce and half without. The chicken was tasty. The outer skin and batter form a crunchy shell that's not overly flaky but easy to bite through. The wings with the sauce has a little sweet flavor to it. We also got the spicy beef soup as recommended by our server. Turned out to be an excellent recommendation. The soup bowl was sizable, and it was filled with ingredients including beef and glass noodles/vermicelli. Flavor was abundant but not really spicy. Also they served six banchan, which is a good variety. A good option (and maybe the only option) for a late dinner in that area.

We came here on a weekday with a group of friends and the restaurant was not busy middle of the week. We had a group of 6 and got sat at the booth, they added a chair at the end of the table for us. We ordered: - mixed chicken wings basket - pork belly for the grill - short ribs for the grill - seafood pancake I was super unimpressed with the seafood pancake, I have had better. The pancake was not crispy enough to our liking. Out of everything we had, the chicken wings were the best! Both flavors of the chicken wings were good. All the other dishes here were just ok. The chicken wings were everyone's favorite.

Came across this place with strong reviews, and the name itself includes seollongtang, which is always a good sign that soup is taken seriously here. The restaurant is much more polished and refined than I expected. We ordered the combination and the cartilage and tendon one. I am always here for tendon, so that was an easy decision. My husband went with white wheat noodles and I chose the clear sweet potato noodles. It also came with rice, which was an unexpected but welcome addition. The banchan of kimchi radish and kimchi Napa cabbage were both excellent and refilled quickly without needing to ask twice. The soup is rich, creamy, and deeply comforting, the kind you immediately wish you had closer to home. Only wish is that they had a combination that included tendon, because that would be perfect. We ordered boiled dumplings and the friends combo A with jajung, jjamppong, and tangsuyuk (M). The bowls of jajung and jjamppong are huge, but I didn't notice any meat in the jajung. The jajung was basically noodles, brown sauce, and onions. It was tasty, but disappointing that it looked and tasted vegetarian. The jjamppong was tasty because it was garlicky and slightly spicy. I was surprised to see the boiled dumplings were basically tiny wontons in clear broth. They need to update their menu description because I was expecting dry and regular sized dumplings. The tangsuyuk was very crispy, and I'm glad they served the goopy sauce separately.

They had plenty of seating and we were able to fit our group of 6 into a booth. While they only have one grill per table, when the fire is turned on, it is really high so things cook so quickly! They have a couple of different tiers of options, but my family loves galbi so we opted for the premium tier ($45). The mid tier (I believe $35) you can go serve yourself all of the meat, but the premium meats are brought out. We tried galbi, ribeye and scallops from the premium menu, which were all tasty (the galbi pieces were large and marinated well, ribeye was nice and red, and scallops while small, came in the shell). Most of the sides and meats are self service which is also nice. They have many different side dishes (including cheese corn!), different pickled veggies, garlic, lettuce, sauces, and the meats and some seafood like shrimp and squid were self serve including a nice cold meat refrigerator for the thin slices such as brisket and belly. They even have a hot bar that I didn't try with various fried foods. They also had oranges, and my favorite - a self serve soft serve ice cream station! Yum! There were also yogurt drinks at the end. It is a lovely place that I think it is mom and pop - we had a sweet lady as our server and she was nothing but smiles. Things can get busy so it took some time for our premium meats to come out but no worries as there were plenty of self serve things to eat while we were waiting. He asked us which option we want and that everything is at the buffet to get and you cook it yourself! It was a little confusing bc the menu options say what you get but you can't remember when you get up to the buffet area and get what you want. Everything at the buffet area was pretty much good to take!! It would be nice if the menu options were there at the buffet area. They did have beef brisket and angus beef brisket but we didn't get those cuz we thought it was the premium price and they were in a freezer or fridge of some sort locked so you have to unlock to wait 5 seconds or something. They had a good assortment of veggies including pickled radish and kimchi! They also had free seaweed snacks and an ice cream machine (vanilla only)! The tables where you cook the meat, the grills need to be replaced at least once bc they tend to scorch but it's nice they have air vents above to keep the air and such circulated. Staff is nice, but there's only 2-3 of them. They do check but sometimes you need to flag them if you want something else like a beverage other than water or to change the grill. I have dined here before so the interiors isn't too different just small changes. Let's jump to the food- I ordered the galbitang and it came with 10 different banchan. Which is a nice surprise since some restaurants aren't as generous in the banchan. The galbitang was so flavorful for a "clear" soup and the meat was tender. It also included a good portion of meat. I've tried galbitang at other places, but there was an umami that many didn't have. All the banchan were flavorful too, I thought the kimchi had a good balance as sometimes it can be a bit on the saltier side. Service was great too, the sever was friendly and checked often. When I went, it was just me then a couple arrived. There was a delay with their order so she provided some mandu on the house while their order was being prepared.
