Long story short, my back was acting up. I had a wedding to go to and didn't want to chance doing my own toe nails, so I went to Gina's based on the great reviews I saw online. Unfortunately, I sat the wrong way in the pedicure chair and midway through, my back went out. I got onto the floor on my stomach to try to straighten it (which usually works) but it wasn't working this time and I could not get up off the floor. (the husband owner, who had started the pedicure, had given me some space and time to try to correct my back.) Finally Lee, the wife owner, came over. First she got on the floor with me and listened to me while I broke into tears. Once I gathered myself, she gently picked me up under my arms so I could stand. She was so kind and calm, which helped me relax, which helped my back muscles which were in spasms. Lee then had me put each foot separately on a stool while SHE sat on the floor and finished my nails (which look absolutely perfect!). Then Lee took me aside and rubbed a menthol oil on my back that she gets in China Town and said she would pick some up for me. She even went as far as to give me her bottle to use until she goes to China Town. Lee is a number one STAR in my book. What was such a dreadful physical experience for me, ended up turning into one filled with compassion and kindness and touched my heart immensely. Have been going to Gina's for 5 years now. Usually gets gel or acrylic with gel polish. They last 2+ weeks as long as you don't pick at them. Polish never lifts. She does get busy (and down a technicians after COVID) but she's is taking appointments now to avoid the long wait! Not the fancy salon but clean and she does a great job! In my search for a new salon, I happened upon Gina's. It didn't look like anything special, just your typical salon. I got a pedicure and take off acrylic/manicure and have nothing really good to say about the experience. My pedicure was sloppy. I had originally wanted orange and asked her if she could do red instead after I realized I didn't like how it looked. Instead of starting over, she put the red polish over the orange! She also cut a cuticle which resulted in a slight, but bleeding cut (It only became apparent to me when she sprayed alcohol on it and it obviously stung).Then she put a lot of soap in tehe foot tub for no apparent reason; it bubbled up and over the tub, soaking my pants(which were folded up around my knees) in the process. Sloppy. The entire time I was in the pedicure chair, my fingers were in a bowl to soften the acrylic. Unfortunately, the acrylic ended up all over my hands/fingers in the process, which would have been okay if she had taken it off by the end of the visit. She didn't and I had to ask another worker to get it off for me. Then, while I was checking the bottom of my feet to make sure the rough skin had been removed, I discovered my feet didn't look much different than when I had entered! When I asked if they could fix it, they charged me an extra $5 to put 'medicine' (callous remover) on it for 10 min and scrub it away. The overall attitude and work were both lousy, so I will never return to Gina's. read more

My roommate turned me on to Gina's and although I get mostly seasonal pedicures, they always remember me when I walk through the door. I have been to a couple of places in the area and they are not quite as homey. Gina's Best is very personable and professional - they'll chat with you but allow you to relax or read. They don't talk over you contstantly in another language and are very clean and speedy. The selection of color is adequate and the price is reasonable - About $25 for a pedicure, sans tip. Close enough to Manayunk without Manayunk price tag. The quality is top rate and no pushiness to get other services done. They do get busy on weekends but I have always been in an out in a jiffy - under an hour. Walk-ins are welcome and parking is handy enough on the side street, either street or a small lot in back. They give light massage with a pedicure and seat you in the relaxing, heated massage chairs. I love that it's unpretentious and they want to see you satisfied. Thumbs up for an attentive eye brow wax - I hate when you go to a place and they just give you the auto-curve on the brow. I like when they wax and then do shape detail with tweezers for ultimate effect. It's virtually painless and they make you very comfortable. Gina's get's five-star for cleanliness, friendliness, convenience & attention to detail. Brilliant! read more

I just moved around here and was looking for a nail salon with fairly the same prices as my old one and Gina's was that one! I went about 5:30ish , it was only 2 other people in there, and was greeted, helped with picking the color I was looking for. The pedicure was nice & relaxing, and the full set turned out so nice. I was the last customer in the shop and didn't feel rushed although it was close to closing time, and i asked for my eyebrows done last minute also.. which turned outOverall this will be my new spot and I love it! read more

Used to really like this place and could usually be seen fairly quickly. The wait has gone up and the quality of the work has gone down. Last time I went I waited for more than 45 minutes--while one of the women sat in the corner eating chips--and finally left. Sorry to say I won't be back. read more

*** PLEASE READ The bacterial infection aka "the greenies" which was caused by dirty implements at ginas (and not mentioned to me at all while the refilled my bacterial infected nails) will cause me to be unable to receive any type of manicure gel/acrylic services until they grow out. I recently moved to this area and had an extremely hard time finding a good nail salon. I decided to try Ginas after driving & walking by everyday. I ABSOLUTELY LOVE IT HERE. great selection of colors and designs, clean & comfortable facility, friendly staff. They did my nails perfect (shape, length etc.) and paid a lot of attention to detail. A refill for acrylic would've only been $17 but I wanted a design on every nail so it was $27 still not bad compared to other salons in the area. (they only charged $1 per nail for a design) Complimentary wine or beverage while you're there too - I HIGHLY recommend this to everyone! read more

My experience here was unlike any trip to a nail salon ever. I was there with 3 of my friends. We were greeted upon walking in the door which was good but after we explained what we wanted we were screamed at/ asked several more times what we wanted by Gina. After answering the same question many times, we were pretty much ignored until the pedicure and manicure stations were available for us. We weren't asked to pick colors or anything. This wasn't a big deal but when you have 4 women walk into your establishment, I would think your customer service would be better. My friend group was split because two of us were getting pedis and two were getting manis. As we got settled into our pedi chair, the same woman who asked us the same question over again came over and explained to me what my gel pedi would cost. The amount was quite higher than what was on their price list so I asked her about it. She basically told me that because of how I was dressed, I would afford it. Because my pedi had already been started and I liked the sweet older man that was working with me, I stayed. That was my mistake. After he handles my cuticles and scrubbed my feet, I was led over to a manicure station to get my gel applied. I have been getting my nails done for the past 10 years and have never had gel polish applied to my feet like this. I was asked to sit and lift my legs through the bottom of the table and rest on the knees of the technician. This out so much strain on my knees, it was truly painful. When I expressed this, to the woman to charges me for my looks, as she was applying the polish, she ignored my complaints. As I was unable to see how my nails were fairing, I had to wait until she was done to see that she had streaked my polish so bad. I wanted it fixed but didn't trust it would be done properly. Every two weeks you'll find me at Gina's. Looks like a review hasn't been written in a while. There are new owners - great customer service, good prices and clean environment. The location is a little old, but the people working there make it a great place to go. I go for a gel manicure and pedicure - it's $40. You can't beat that price and they give you a glass of wine! I have visited this nail salon twice in the last year. My most recent visit was incredible which was understandable when I found out that they are recently under new management. I went to the salon on a rainy Tuesday evening after work. When I sat down for a pedicure, I was handed a complimentary glass of wine. The ladies were so friendly and happy. I decided to get a gel manicure and eyebrow waxing as well, all of which totaled $47 (pedicure, gel manicure, eyebrow wax)! The quality of all three were better than some $40 pedicures I have had on Main Street in Manayunk. Go to Gina's! I've been going to Gina's Best Nails for a while now and I always get the spa pedicure, which is great. It's a little bit more money but you get a really nice foot and leg massage! They also have a bunch of add-ones, like a hot stone massage, that can be a nice treat every now and then. I tend to go only in summer months, but they always remember me and are very friendly! They are reasonably priced and do a great job. I've gotten manicures for special occasions and they have done really nice work. I highly recommend them! read more

Although the rent on Ridge Avenue is cheaper, the prices at this salon equal those on Main Street or in center city. The people who run the salon are very nice but nice isn't enough. They ran cold water for my pedicure and gave me less treatment than some other salons. When I had waxing done, it was done badly both times, resulting in irritation and regrowth overnight. I really like this place. The ladies are really sweet, very attentive, and very detail oriented. Every time I've been it was just me and my friend - very uncrowded although we went during daytime hours in the middle of the week or on Thursdays. Either way, I'll definitely be coming back here for great and reasonably priced services. read more
