This is how you do restaurants! From the moment we walked in until the very end of our meal, everything about this experience was truly five star. The host greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome right away. The atmosphere was the perfect balance between elegant and comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic, charismatic, personable, and extremely attentive. He checked in on us multiple times and made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. He refilled our bread and diet coke multiple times. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and the portions were generous. Each dish tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, this was a memorable dining experience from start to finish. It's rare to find a place that gets everything right service, ambiance, and food, but this restaurant truly does. I absolutely cannot wait to come back and would highly recommend it to anyone looking for a great Italian meal and an even better experience.

The view of the kitchen from the bar, including the famous wood fire pizza oven.

This cute, locally owned Italian restaurant is a great neighborhood spot in CDM right off PCH. If you've got a craving for delicious pizza and homemade pasta served with authenticity, stop by on your way through town. We stopped in on a Friday night without reservations and were able to get seats at the bar. This was an entertaining experience because we had full view of the kitchen activities including the giant wood fire pizza oven that cooks at 900 degrees. We chose the Prosciutto E Formaggi Bar as an appetizer and got three cheeses but you can choose three meats or mix meats and cheeses to make your own custom charcuterie board. The farmhouse cheddar and parmigiano were stand outs. For our meal, we split the 50/50 pasta which features house made papparedelle pasta, bolognese style free-range beef and kurobuta pork salsiccia and wild mushrooms. It was absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the bolognese sauce was so good, we couldn't get enough of it. Minor criticism but the pasta plate was $30 and the portion was smaller than usual. It's hard to justify that price for a small plate of pasta but it was delicious. Next time we stop in, we will go for the pizza as it looked and smelled amazing.

There were so many things that look so delicious but we decided to try the Bow tie pasta. Some how salads are so much better in California. I had the beet salad with the most thinly sliced beets I've ever eaten. My husband had the kale salad. The bread comes with a pesto dipping sauce that is to die for. Our waitress was super helpful with wine recommendations. Service was attentive.

Food: tasty, exceptional, pure Italian cuisine. I selected the classic veal Piccata which was bright, citrusy with a rich sauce Service: exceptional, the best one can expect even in Newport Beach. Ambience: tight quarters and a bit European. Nice. Finally, beautiful Italian wines. Reds, of course.

Gluten free tagliatelle with bolognese also delicious

Best gluten free Italian meal I've had outside of Europe. Homemade gluten free ravioli with roasted vegetables and parmesan cream sauce was amazing. The gluten free tagliatelle with bolognese also delicious. Our gluten eating guests also loved their meals. The chocolate lava cake with gelato was gluten free and decadent. The cheesecake was crust free, therefore gluten free also amazing. I haven't stopped thinking about my meal since we ate there.

Complimentary bread and pesto dip. Delish!

We were wanting to get out of the South Bay for a night out, and drove out to Corona Del Mar. I had heard about the charcuterie plate at Foretti's. The earliest reservation we could get was 8pm and when we arrived our table wasn't ready so we grabbed a cocktail next door. The place was smaller than I thought, but in a good way. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait a long time for our server to greet us. She was friendly and attentive even though she had several parties to serve. She made sure we had water and bread while we waited. The meat and cheese plate was the star of the show. There were so many tasty dishes to choose from, we both opted for pasta and glad we did. They were made to order, hot, and delicious. Will definitely come back.

Actual photo online ( Foretti website) pretty crazy

The healthy salmon dish is a winner The beet salad for $21.50 is worth about 1/2 of that cost. I was amazed at how thin ( almost like paper thin) a cook could cut beets! No health value as there are only a few slices with maybe 3/4 cup arugula 3 pecans/ 4 raspberries. Surprised.. as this should've been enough for dinner

Everything was absolutely delicious! We especially enjoyed the Linguine Cacio e Pepe -- three of us ordered it. My daughter thought it was just "ok," but to be fair, she just got back from four months in Europe, so her standards are pretty high right now. Every starter was amazing: the golden beets were perfectly done, and the octopus and Tasmanian salmon were soooo good. The short rib pasta tasted exactly as it should. Rich, comforting, and flavorful. Service was great. They were attentive without being overbearing. The only downside is the parking, which isn't the easiest. Overall, I would definitely go back

I went here for my birthday and I loved!!! Cute ambience, quiet, and relaxing, but also very welcoming and cozy. Our waitress was beyond helpful and very kind and generous food was delicious and one of the best Italian restaurants I've been to in a while.

We can't believe we haven't discovered this place earlier. Fun-&-lively on a Friday night! With the main dining room's tables in close proximity to each other and seated in a high-traffic area, I focused on keeping my elbows at my sides and limiting my arm movements. We started with a strong-&-tasty Negroni, a glass of wine (generous pour!), their Caesar Salad (with anchovies -- we'd never been served anchovies as large as these!), and San Daniela (tender and tasty on a refreshing bed of arugula). Our entrees: Pappardelle Lamb Ragu ($28) -- savory, full of flavor, and the pappardelle was a nice width and texture, cooked al dente; and Linguine Black ($32) -- a flavorful tomato sauce with a tasty-&-attractive variety of seafood (although 3 of my large clams did not open). The energetic, knowledgeable, and attentive staff -- including the host desk -- provided wonderful customer service, despite being visibly busy! We look forward to returning to experience more of their menu items ... very soon!

Had a glass of white wine which was recommended by the manager/sommelier while we browsed the menu. As our friends have dined here several times, we started to nibble on the whipped ricotta, burratina, empanadas and the pan con tomate w/jamon. All 4 were delicious but the empanadas were amazing! Our table was ready once we finished the 4 appetizers. Next up we decided on the tiger prawns, branzino and seared scallops. Thought the prawns were a tad bit overcooked as it was a bit tough. The scallops were well seasoned and especially loved the saffron risotto. Finally, the branzino was cooked perfectly but wasn't a fan of the romesco sauce as it tasted sweet to me. Though we were absolutely stuffed, we ended up trying their creme brûlée, gelato/sorbet flight and their olive cake. I absolutely loved the creme brûlée as the custard was super light. The gelato/sorbet flight was also tasty but sadly wasn't a fan of the olive cake. The place was packed and patrons seemed to stay for a few hours at a time. Only complaint is with how loud it can get with both the music and patrons drinking countless bottles of wine. Service was phenomenal and would definitely head back if in the area. Although they do validate for the 1st hour, we ended up staying for quite some time and parking ended up costing another $18.

It's waterfront and can be accessed via the boardwalk (it's behind the street-side shops). Parking can be tough and very expensive - you'll likely have to park in the structure and walk over. Make sure to take your ticket with you for validation. Seating is available inside and outside on their covered patio. Plenty of space for parties of all sizes. I was pleasantly surprised by how easy it was to make a same-day reservation for a Sunday afternoon. They had plenty of open seating even when we got there. Tables were very dirty. They have a lot of work to do - it seems like months if not years of food, dust, and salty moist air mixed together and collected in the creases in the tables, on the walls, etc.. It's like a sticky gross residue that never gets completely clean. Many people like to dress nice in the area but honestly I would hate to wear something nice here out of fear it would get dirty. We also required new plates as ours had old food stuck to them. Service was not great. Our waiter was somewhat attentive but not nice - the poor guy seemed miserable like he hated his job and did not want to be there. Despite the restaurant being full, he wouldn't come by often when we actually needed something - he even disappeared towards the end and a new waiter had to help us. Food is delicious. Besides the location, their saving grace. We tried the sandwiches and yummy! Fries were also delicious with the spicy mayo. Love the different options they have, overall. They also had some great looking food on the brunch and drinks section of the menu. You can scan the QR code at the table to see pictures of each menu item. Overall was good and we'll be back every once in a while because we love Lido. Will try sitting inside in hopes the tables are decent. Really hope management makes some improvements though!

We shared a bunch of things and there really wasn't a bad dish. The hummus with tomatoes and crispy bread was delicious, and we absolutely loved the meatballs in the slightly spicy curry sauce. We also had the pepper pasta, clams (one of my friends had never even tried clams and loved them!), cacio e pepe, and Mary's chicken. The chicken was Korean-style and came with kimchi green beans that somehow tasted a little like dill pickles -- in the best possible way. We loved them! The service, though, was just...odd. My bestie and I both ordered dirty martinis with blue cheese olives. Mine came with them, hers didn't, and neither martini was nearly dirty enough. Once we got some extra olive brine they were much better. But the funniest part was when we reminded our server that my friend was still missing her blue cheese olives. She came back with a skewer of them IN HER HAND and just handed it directly to my friend. No plate, no napkin, nothing. We all just looked at each other like, "Did that really just happen?" So overall, I'd absolutely come back because the food was THAT good. The kitchen gets an easy 5 stars from me. If the service had been at the same level, this would have been a five-star experience all around. For this visit, 4 stars -- but definitely worth going for the food!
