We came on a Monday and was surprised to see how crowded it was. We had a reservation so we were seated pretty quickly. We sat on the patio at the entrance which was set up nicely and covered with open windows which was perfect and quaint. They brought out bread and a dip that I believe was pesto and olive oil the was really good. This is how you do restaurants! From the moment we walked in until the very end of our meal, everything about this experience was truly five star. The host greeted us warmly and made us feel welcome right away. The atmosphere was the perfect balance between elegant and comfortable. Our waiter was fantastic, charismatic, personable, and extremely attentive. He checked in on us multiple times and made the whole dining experience even more enjoyable. He refilled our bread and diet coke multiple times. The food was outstanding. Everything we ordered was beautifully presented and the portions were generous. Each dish tasted fresh, flavorful, and thoughtfully prepared. Overall, this was a memorable dining experience from start to finish. It's rare to find a place that gets everything right service, ambiance, and food, but this restaurant truly does. This cute, locally owned Italian restaurant is a great neighborhood spot in CDM right off PCH. If you've got a craving for delicious pizza and homemade pasta served with authenticity, stop by on your way through town. We stopped in on a Friday night without reservations and were able to get seats at the bar. This was an entertaining experience because we had full view of the kitchen activities including the giant wood fire pizza oven that cooks at 900 degrees. We chose the Prosciutto E Formaggi Bar as an appetizer and got three cheeses but you can choose three meats or mix meats and cheeses to make your own custom charcuterie board. The farmhouse cheddar and parmigiano were stand outs. For our meal, we split the 50/50 pasta which features house made papparedelle pasta, bolognese style free-range beef and kurobuta pork salsiccia and wild mushrooms. It was absolutely delicious. The pasta was perfectly cooked and the bolognese sauce was so good, we couldn't get enough of it. Minor criticism but the pasta plate was $30 and the portion was smaller than usual. It's hard to justify that price for a small plate of pasta but it was delicious. Next time we stop in, we will go for the pizza as it looked and smelled amazing. read more

They created an outdoor dining area in the parking lot, covered it with plastic, and provided absolutely no ventilation- not even a basic $50 fan. It was unbearably hot, and I was drenched in sweat throughout the meal. When I asked to be moved, I was simply told there was no other space available. Then why seat customers in such a miserable, poorly planned area? You charge premium prices for disappointing food, yet expect people to sit and sweat in a plastic-covered parking lot. Best gluten free Italian meal I've had outside of Europe. Homemade gluten free ravioli with roasted vegetables and parmesan cream sauce was amazing. The gluten free tagliatelle with bolognese also delicious. Our gluten eating guests also loved their meals. The chocolate lava cake with gelato was gluten free and decadent. We were wanting to get out of the South Bay for a night out, and drove out to Corona Del Mar. I had heard about the charcuterie plate at Foretti's. The earliest reservation we could get was 8pm and when we arrived our table wasn't ready so we grabbed a cocktail next door. The place was smaller than I thought, but in a good way. The restaurant was busy but we didn't have to wait a long time for our server to greet us. She was friendly and attentive even though she had several parties to serve. My daughter thought it was just "ok," but to be fair, she just got back from four months in Europe, so her standards are pretty high right now. We can't believe we haven't discovered this place earlier. Fun-&-lively on a Friday night! With the main dining room's tables in close proximity to each other and seated in a high-traffic area, I focused on keeping my elbows at my sides and limiting my arm movements. We started with a strong-&-tasty Negroni, a glass of wine (generous pour!), their Caesar Salad (with anchovies -- we'd never been served anchovies as large as these!), and San Daniela (tender and tasty on a refreshing bed of arugula). Our entrees: Pappardelle Lamb Ragu ($28) -- savory, full of flavor, and the pappardelle was a nice width and texture, cooked al dente; and Linguine Black ($32) -- a flavorful tomato sauce with a tasty-&-attractive variety of seafood (although 3 of my large clams did not open). Veal Marsala wasn't our favorite. Veal had funky flavor. Healthy salmon pasta was a generous portion. We were unfortunately seated by the restroom, in the future we would wait for a different table. We had a lovely experience here! The parking is a little tricky, but the staff let us park in a spot that was reserved which was really kind of them. It may be a good idea to give yourself a little bit of extra time just in case parking is limited. We had a reservation and were seated quickly. The restaurant smelled delicious and you can see a big pizza oven from the dining area. The restaurant is pretty dark inside and has some seating on a patio with heaters. I had the short rib pasta which was excellent and kind of similar to bolognese as far as the taste of the sauce. It was wonderful and the noodles tasted freshly made. The gnocchi was equally as delicious and had a creamy brown butter sauce. The gnocchi melted in your mouth and were so yummy. Once seated, our cocktail orders and dipping focaccia (with pesto dip) popped onto the table in what felt like thirty seconds, our server was fast! Limoncello Martini - This was light, citrusy and sweet but not too sweet, well balanced with red cherry at the bottom. Very refreshing on a hot summer night. Three Cheese Plate - You can choose out of about eight different cheeses, mix and match and each cheese is paired with some matching accoutrements (sweet peppers, honey, figs, etc.) I enjoyed all the cheeses but I couldn't really understand why they dumped all the cheese on a thick salad bed of arugula. Would have been more orderly if the cheeses were on the board and the greens on the side. Margherita Pizza (add Spicy Soppressata) - Big melted blogs of mozzarella, generous slices of salami made for a good pizza. It's fired up Napoletana style and the crust is not as big and bubbly as some other Napoletana style places but very tasty. If you want a pizza, get a pizza here. Other things our party vacuumed up... Lobster Raviolis, Short Rib Pasta, Halibut steak, Fried Calamari. Parking in the lot may fill up but there is often parking along the nearby streets in the evening. It's a great walking area on PCH... You can walk around the nearby stores, catch a movie at the Port or you can walk down to coast and take in the fresh sea air. Service here is great, they are very efficient even while the tables are packed. The view of the walking traffic on the street keeps things interesting while you are kicking back with your friends and family having an awesome meal! read more
