Food has been good every visit. A little on the pricey side, but it's the only Chinese restaurant I'll eat at in the Cape Update: I previously gave this restaurant 4 stars because we come so often. However, the other night I placed close to a $100 order to take to the park with friends. We ordered a pound of the pork and numerous sides and steamed buns to go with it. The pork was cold so no one really touched it and all of the extra buns I ordered went to waste. I called to let them know that and they said they keep it hanging in a window so I need to tell them to heat it up extra next time. I tried ordering again and they were out. Today I order it and I ask since last time I ordered the buns to go with it and they were thrown out of there was a way to get some with this order and I was just met with lots of arguments and told me they'd let me know next time. I was a weekly customer, the fact that they weren't willing to make it right to a loyal customer leaves a bad taste in my mouth, especially over some $4-5 steamed buns when I'm still paying for the pork that was bad the last visit. read more

Had a Mother's Day brunch with the family today! I must say that everything was very good! The Dim Sum was very fresh, tasty and hot as it should be.! The duck and pork were excellent. The waiter and staff were friendly and efficient. We were 7 adults and our table was teeming with Dim Sum! The final bill was very reasonable! We will return!!!!! read more

We have eaten in the Fort Myers location and enjoyed it so today we tried the Cape Coral location. It is tastefully decorated, soothing Asian music, pleasant attentive staff and very good food. Lunch selections were limited but varied enough to make it easy to pick. Everything was prepared and presented artistically. Lunch portions were enough and satisfying. We definitely will be returning in the future and dinner would be on our agenda as the menu has quite a selection. I had Beef & Broccoli which came with Jasmine rice and a choice of soup ...I had Wonton soup... my husband had Duck with steamed vegetable and Jasmine rice and his choice of soup was Egg Drop. For dessert we had Mochi which was a first for us which ended our lunch on a refreshing note. We highly recommend Ginger Bistro. read more

I did an Uber Eats take out order so I don't know what the restaurant looks like or what the service is like. My review is based solely on the food. We ordered 6 different dishes to share family style. Everything was so great. I would say my least favorite was the fried rice but it wasn't bad. It just wasn't my favorite. So the Mrs. stopped in for dinner this week with some girlfriends and they all agreed that the food was terrific but the experience not so hot. The wait staff was slow and the meal came out piecemeal. Not exactly the way to start off with a new establishment. The dining room wasn't even half full so you would think they could get that right. On top of that the Mrs. prefers Green Tea and that is what she typically orders. What a surprise when the bill came and the tea was $6.99. I am sorry since when does tea cost $6.99. The house tea is $1.00 a person but Green Tea $6.99. So this made me want to comparing menu prices at other Chinese places we eat. Most meals at Ginger Bristo cost at least $2.00 more, oh and on top of that if you want rice that's $1.25 extra. Hey, I get it if the food and service is better, a couple of bucks isn't going to break the bank, but when there is no upside why drop the cash. We may try them in a few weeks to see if they have improved the service as I would like to try the Peking Duck but as a local, I am in no hurry. read more

I've been waiting for this place to open. I went on a Friday and it was packed. Sat at the bar by myself and had Matt serve me. Great service. Had the dumpling appetizer and it lived up to my expectations having eaten it all my life in NYC. I o ly wish they served full dim sum menu all day, but I get it. Also had the cuttlefish with XO sauce and dared them to make me cry on the spice. Dish had great flavor and was delicious but the heat wasn't there. Came from Estero to see what all the hype was all about but we were mostly disappointed. Roast Duck was good, crispy skin and tender on the inside. Ginger scallion Lobster was good but be careful because it is market price and they do not go by weight. We asked for A 2lb lobster but it wasnt until they brought the lobster out and I asked if it was 2lbs (because it looked small) that she said they are all the same. If they were all the same then there should be a price on the menu but there wasnt - just my opinion ‍. The eight treaures claypot and Bistro fried rice was bland, no flavor at all. Snow pea tips are seasonal and they were soooo salty, the price is not on the menu so FYI it was $17. Hostess was friendly, Servers were not. I came here a couple of months ago for the dim sum and it was awesome. Well, unlucky for me dim sum menu ends at 3. It's my fault I didn't pay attention to this, but if it's not before 3, the dim sum menu is very limited so I'm not sure why they consider themselves a dim sum restaurant. Went on a Friday night, service was okay...servers were coming out of the kitchen chomping on food. My server and bartender was good. I ordered the pancakes which were greasy but good. The real fray back was the salt and pepper wings. They were literally non seasoned fried wings with a bed of jalapeños under them. They were super greasy as well and had no flavor. I loved coming here for the dim sum, but this experience may have drove me off for good. Not a great experience. I gave them an extra star because of my first experience with the dim sum...my second experience was enough to drive me away. read more

I've only had the hot and sour soup, which was right on point, and the pork and ginger soup dumplings. I came here because they have a full dim sum menu. I just moved here from LA and was looking for a place that has xiao long bao, or soup dumplings. The pork and ginger soup dumplings are exactly that. They were fantastic. I will definitely be coming back here even if it's only for them. Oh and I ordered a draft beer that came in a glass a bit larger than a typical pint glass . Maybe 18-20oz. This is my first review that I have ever made. We've been to Ginger Bistro a half dozen times in the last 2 years and we get more disappointed each time we go. We did a take out today (1/2/2022) and ordered 2 orders of spare ribs and an order of pork fried rice ($45.00). The pork fried rice looked like it was left over from the day before. The spare ribs were in tiny chunks and had little meat on them. My wife called the restaurant as soon as we got home. The young girl who answered the phone said thats the way we serve it! She further added that the owner will not give us a refund and she would not either. I have owned retail establishments for over 42 years and have never treated a customer like this.... read more

This has to be one of the worst Asian meals that I ever had. My sister had BBQ pork. The meal was served cold. When this issue was brought to the staffs attention, the young female staff member stuck her hand into the plate of food then offered to return to the kitchen to heat it up. I had Mongolian beef however it did not taste like quality beef. The beef was mushy and lacked substance. Portion size was good but lacked any appeal once eaten. Management removed my sisters dish from the check. Management did not visit the table. This is my second and last time eating at this restaurant. Both visits were disappointing and over priced. Took Mrs.O's brother who is a North Fort Myers snow-bird for dinner there yesterday. Had won ton soup starter and sweet & sour chicken, pork fried rice, and Mongolian Beef for entrees. Ate it all up. He was raving about how good it was. Since I never looked at the menu when ordering their Mongolian beef, I didn't see the little red pepper icon indicating a "spicy" dish. Add to favorites, Chef Chu's in Mountain View, Tao Tao's in Sunnyvale, Far East Cafe in San Francisco and you have decades of asian inspired gastronomical experiences. Ginger Bistro in Cape Coral actually exceeded my expectations. Our bill slightly over $100 for the two of us was well worth it. For our excursion we ordered the honey glazed bbq pork @$10.95 a pound, $17 cashew shrimp, pork pot stickers (6pc) @$7.50, General Tso's chicken $12.95, steamed white rice, plumb wine ($5) and 2 maitai's ($20). Dinner came out slowly and we thoroughly enjoyed the relaxed atmosphere, soft music and superb attentive wait staff. It was also the best General Tso's chicken I have ever had. I think they may error on the side of caution when it comes to adding heat to their dishes so make sure you let them know if you'd like a little more spice included. visited 2 times for lunch and one take out in the past 3 months from the Cape Coral restaurant, we always order the same lunch dishes off the lunch menu. Dining inside for lunch were very small portions but tasty. Going over the dinner menu seemed pricey. one of the orders off the lunch menu was the duck and each of the three times I ordered it, it had more bones than meat. One of the other dishes for lunch was the beef and broccoli and the beef was not beef but chicken? The order for Mongolian beef which was very spicy. I have very mixed feelings about this restaurant; the restaurant itself is very impressive and I think it all comes down to who the chef is at the time you visit. On all occasions that I visited the restaurant the waiters were very friendly and helpful and the girl at the front hostess desk couldn't be nicer. read more

I love Ginger Bistro. Their dim sum is good, fried stuff is always fresh and crispy, and their sauces are great and seem to be homemade. They use tons of fresh veggies (even in the fried rice and lo mein) and never skimp on them or the meat. It can be a little expensive, which is my only complaint. But I'm willing to pay for decent not overly oily fresh food... I just order less than I would otherwise which kinda stinks because I have had to pass on things I've wanted to try. read more
