The food was freaking amazing. The best chicken fried steak skillet I've ever eaten. The long wait for the food was worth it.

I can rave about the previous owners all day. The cook made damn good food, the milkshakes were awesome, the cheesecake and fries were insane. My favorite waitress was there often and the sweetest women I loved her so much! Sure wish I had gotten her contact so I could meet up with her. All the staff was wonderful and I went there a lot! But... I went the other day and all I can honestly say is food wasn't nearly as good and since they switched owners and all the staff, service was an awful joke. It's a whole story of it's own. Not going back after that. Dairy Queen has better service. read more

Bit of a connossieur of clam strips and this is my new favorite over sullivans in Boston. Big soft clam strips and crispy fries. Service was great too. It's on the end of the peninsula center mall (where Safeway is at the other end). read more

Probably the best all around go to in Soldotna. Always good. It's a go to. Fast service. Great service, meaning if you're rude, they'll probably be rude back. Not too busy usually getting you in and out. Hidden in the back of a mall(ish) building that I hear was booming in the 1900s. With the lack of affordable business opportunities dwindled by the poor almost immature authority over the city of Soldotna, this establishment is a statement of hard work! Thank God for them and businesses like them in this area that give hope to new business owners!!! read more

Gingers is a long time favorite in Soldotna. Located in the peninsula center mall opposite end from Safeway. The daily specials are always tasty and plentiful. There is also a full menu to choose from and all served promptly in a clean, friendly atmosphere. Try it and see for yourself. read more

I absolutely love Gingers. Everytime I come to the peninsula for work I eat here. I decided to write this review today because of something I witnessed. A senior citizen came into the restaraunt to sit down and have a cup of coffee. He didnt want anything else and just needed a moment to rest, when he got up to pay the server said "Dont worry about it, Ill take care of it.". If I could give 1/2 I would. This place was terrible had to wait way to long for server. Only 3 other people in the place. French fries were greasy an limp. Bread was dry on my sandwich. Tea was good....! First time an last time we will go there. So few choices in this town to eat you would think they would make sure when you tell them it's our first Tim there the would at least make sure it was good so you would come back. ....... two thumbs down. read more

Needed a quick stop on the road between Homer and Girdwood. The mall parking provided enough room to park the Motorhome. Yes, this restaurant is in a mall, but surprisingly the food is fresh, home-cooked and tastes great. The onion rings and fries were perfect and the cole slaw was really delicious. Menu has burgers, fish 'n chips, etc. nothing fancy but great food at reasonable prices. Great, smiley service too. read more

I am a Soldotna local and I eat here occasionally. I have tried out a variety of restaurants here and in Kenai and I have to say there is a lot of variance in quality and service in these two towns. Anyway Ginger's while it isn't OMG great is consistent. Good burgers and fries and the wait staff is always friendly and attentive with out being overly so. I like the place and the food. When someone stops by after morning and wants to go out to grab a bite this is the most frequent place for me to take them. Good food, prices in line, nice people and easy parking. read more

20 plus dollars for the fish and chips. Fries were the best feature. Cole slaw no flavor. Fish very thin and over cooked. Hard to locate the fish inside the crunchy, no flavor, crust. The grilled cheese is fake cheese so very gross but the grilled onions were a nice addition. Never saw any grilled peppers. As I said, the fries were awesome. The potato salad was pretty good, per my elderly dad. He liked the texture. We ordered to GO and got back to hotel to find no utensils to eat the slaw and potato salad. 55$ with tip for 3 meals. read more

Reminiscent of The Cookie Jar in Fairbanks. Great menu, great food, great portions. They have breakfast when they open at 11, which is a little late for breakfast, but oh well. Lots of dessert options. My new favorite go-to casual restaurant in Soldotna. After reading other reviews, might not want to come here for "Alaskan" dishes like fish and chips, but their regular menu items are great! read more

Great clams and cole slaw, and exceptionally great service!

Pretty good food and service, we have not had a meal that we were disappointed with. Gingers serves basic comfort diner food. What I really appreciate is how clean the kitchen is. Run by a family who enjoys what they do and it shows in their service and food. read more
