A good lunch in this oversize hall which doubles as a go-to wedding reception venue for the locals of the Finger Lakes. Ginny Lee has a long list of craft brews from the brewery next door and a long list of local wines as well. Sandwiches, flatbreads and smaller fare adorn their menu. Grabbed lunch here after visiting the brewery and we both enjoyed our meal. Got the signature Turkey club which is an open faced sandwich on baguette. Very yummy! Each entree had a suggested wine or beer pairing which was cool! You can tell it's more of a wedding hall but didn't really bother us. I don't rate places a lot, but this deserved a special mention. My group came here on a wine tour and I ordered a burger since I had been drinking, obviously. It was without a doubt one of the worst burgers I've ever had. Dry, flavorless, bun wasn't good. Don't get the burger. read more

We had our wedding a week ago at the Ginny Lee. This venue is amazing the views of Seneca Lake are stunning. The food is some of the best wedding food I've had. All of our guests enjoyed the Wagner wines and beers and top shelf bar. Judy herself is extremely responsible and reliable she organized everything was wonderful to work with and set the room up exactly like The pictures I sent her. The staff was friendly and helpful. This is a little café at Wagner Vineyards. The views are amazing! The menu isn't huge, but what is on it is yummy. My only complaint was the cheeseboard appetizer. The cheeses (with the exception of the bleu) were very bland and seemed cheap. Also, the crackers served with the cheese were butter flavored crackers instead of the traditional water crackers (so it doesn't interfere with the flavors of the cheese). They have a nice list of specials in addition to their regular menu. I had the chef's special flatbread pizza and it was a garlic, chicken, and vegetable pizza that was really delicious. The hubby had a roast beef sandwich that he let me sample and it had this yummy horseradish cheese sauce on it. Service was fabulous, quick and friendly! read more

Stopped by here for lunch, as it was recommended. We were a big group, and they were able to accommodate us. The view is amazing, so I definitely recommend sitting outside if possible. I had the Steak and Swiss sandwich, as well as shared the calamari with my boyfriend. Both were pretty good.. the calamari was better than I expected. We tried their root beer, grape juice (pretty good, and sweet), and a bottle of wine from the vineyard next door. The prices for the drinks were good ($15 for a bottle of wine!) but the food prices were a bit comparable to NYC prices (my sandwich was nearly $11). However, the food was pretty good and I would definitely stop by again! read more

I'm only giving three stars for service and view (both excellent), but the food is terrible here. Personal pizza looked like it was some frozen pizza and it literally tastes like Chef Boyardee. The salad was pitiful, with cubes of cheddar cheese and apple slices that were huge, and both felt like they just came out of a bag of pre-cubed cheese and pre-sliced apples like you'd find in a Lunchables box. We stopped to have lunch before visiting Wagner winery. Unfortunately, the weather was a bit odd that day, so we sat inside. They do have an outdoor area. We all ordered cheeseburgers, which weren't bad. Our waitress was friendly, but the room itself was cold. It wasn't too hot out, so we didn't understand why it was so cold inside. This turned out to be diner style service and food in a cafeteria style setting. It wasn't what I was expecting. French onion soup was tasty if a bit modestly sized. The hot turkey sandwich was bland and just needs more attention. read more

Really nice place to visit with an amazing view. The food was very fresh and our meals came with fresh grapes from the vineyard, probably the best I've ever had. The menu is kind of limited but what is on there is done really well. With a little guidence from the menu we found some tasty beers to go along with our meals including their sampler of all the beer thats made on site. Service was a bit slow but we also caught the tail end of the season and might have been limited staff. When all is said and done you get fresh food at fair prices with a view to boot. Step on outside and take the short walk to the brewery/winery for a tour and sampling of their wine and beer. read more

The food was actually very good. Tried a flatbread and crab Rangoon as well as the soup du jour. Portions were small. Prices, mediocre. It is not a cafe, more like a banquet hall. Looks like a great place for weddings. Food was served quickly, staff wasn't very personable, but efficient. read more

Beautiful location. Lunch was alright. Service was terrible. We had to ask that the food left on a table next to us for over 20 minutes, be removed because flies and a bird were honing in on it. Not very attentive staff to say the least. read more

Had lunch today with my girlfriend and the food was amazing. I had a steak and swiss and she had a personal pizza. We agreed the food was very good. The server was nice but hard to find occasionally.( They were getting ready for a wedding so I don't blame her). The secenery was beautiful can't wait to return when it's warmer to eat outside. Then there's the bathrooms... The women's room toilets wouldn't flush but to fix this they placed signs above them that said to wait for the tank to fill and be patient... It wasn't busy and I was patient but I couldn't help but wonder how the toilets could keep up with a wedding party.?.? The bathroom we're otherwise clean but I couldn't help but notice that some other patrons were not as patient as I was seeing as tho all three toilets were obviously used before I used one. Other than that we will definitely be back because the food was top notch. read more

Stopped in here after a tour of Wagner's Winery and Brewery. We had originally decided to sit down and eat, but after waiting 20 minutes for a server to come over, we decided it would be easier to just order take out and eat over at Wagner's on their outside deck. Waaay better choice. It only took us 15 additional minutest to get my caesar salad and my bf's pulled pork sandwich. We checked outside and people who were seated around the same time we were, were still waiting for a server to come over. This was a sunny saturday afternoon and the restaurant was clearly understaffed for the flood of patrons. Not to mention there was only 1 computer for both the servers and take out cashiers to enter their orders, which is just ridiculous. Needless to say the restaurant was chaos. The salad and sandwiches were just ok, but we were just glad to have some sustenance before continuing on the rest of our day wine tasting. Ginny Lee's could use some better management and splurge on another computer and they probably would be a lot less chaotic. Its a big restaurant and a beautiful location so they would do well to step their game up a bit. read more

Planning a wedding? This is where you want to have it! We had both our wedding ceremony and reception at the Ginny Lee Cafe and it was absolutely amazing! Huge shout out to Ginny Lee herself. She was so easy to work with and a tremendous help! She made the whole wedding planning experience so much easier. She responds quickly to emails and knows her stuff. The event staff were very friendly and helpful as well. We were very happy with the food and drink selection. Guests said that it was one of the most beautiful weddings that they have ever been too. I contribute this to the beautiful venue and the stunning lake and vineyards. read more

Great view from nice veranda but at least for lunch, lackluster quality and high price were out of alignment. Lettuce and other condiments were wilted. Service was attentive but young, seasonal servers were basically going through the motions. Didn't meet our expectations. read more

I've had several pleasant lunches over the past few years. Gorgeous view, okay food. But over Labor Day Weekend, no. The avocado in the salad special looked bad [more beige than green] and tasted awful. When I mentioned this to the waitress, she said she would speak to the chef. She said he said there was nothing that could be done, that the avocado came pre-sliced and shrink wrapped. What?!? For a salad? Then there was the wine snafu. I didn't plan to drink, but recommended the Reserve White, a favorite of mine, to my companions, and a carafe was ordered. At the end of the meal they urged me to try it. It definitely was not Reserve White, but probably the more expensive and to me not as tasty Reserve Chardonnay. Since there wasn't a label to consult, we felt we couldn't make a case, so we paid up and left. Too bad. The other dishes were acceptable enough, but I won't eat there again. read more
