I'm pretty sure somebody told me they had the "best" pizza & I "had" to try it. It was very good, but didn't quite live up to the hype to being called the best & would have been completely fine having never had tried it. I did try it, so now you don't have to. The ingredients were defiantly high quality and the pizza was made was out together & baked very nicely. I tried a variety of slices so I could get a good representation of their food and report back to you accurately. The plain slice was just that, plain. But like they say about sex, even if it's bad, it's good. The margarita slice was very good, the cheese & sauce complimented each other nicely. I'm not sure what that other slice I fit is called but that was my favorite. The restaurant was clean. The service was quick and friendly. The prices are reasonable. If you're I the area looking for some pizza or Italian food, give them a try.

This place is trash. Ordered food for delivery. Ordered a 14' pie with sausage and few other items. Got a pie with extra cheese about a pound to cheese on it. The second I lifted the box it was so heavy that I knew it was extra cheese before I even open the box.(made my fair share of pizzas and deliveries). The cheese and sausage are all on one side of the box and due to the amount of cheese and being busy the pizza was under cooked. Called back politely to let them know it was wrong and the lady was extremely rude made it seem like we're crazy and told us we would have to reorder to get a new pie. The fact I'm leaving a review when I've left one review ever says how wrong this pizza was made and how rude this lady was. Have some respect for people ordering and spending their hard earned money.

Had a wonderful lunch. The portion size was HUGE and so cheap. Would love to explore more of the menu if I lived closer.

Guy seemed overwhelmed and reluctantly took my order. I showed up 30 min later and no one had any record of my order. I recognized the guy's voice and told him he took my order. He was pissed and got into a shouting match with me with 3 other customers around. He eventually apologized and offered a free side of meatballs and spaghetti (don't order that btw, super underwhelming). 2nd time: Wife placed an order for a pie with half pepperoni on their website. Came back with the order and the pie had full toppings. Small nit but annoying. 3rd time: I called at 6pm on a Thursday. No one picked up. Opted to place order on their website and got the same item as last time. Showed up at and the same miserable guy asked for my name and order... and then said he didn't have any order. I told him I placed an order on the website... and he said "You should have called." with an awful (only a mother can love) grin. I showed him my email confirming 6:20pm pickup time and he said he had no order... before pulling a pie with my name on it. I asked if it had half pepperoni and it didn't. Full toppings AGAIN. Clearly, their website is not equipped to actually take half toppings orders. Pizza is OK but not worth the headache or poor service here.

We spotted Blue Steel which had good, modern curb appeal to our hungry tummies. It looks like downtown Bloomfield is having a moment with some new condos and nicer restaurants coming in. Thanks, gentrification!? Inside has a clubby, bar vibe and we were seated at a hightop near the bar. I love a good wedge salad. I prefer the classic but I appreciate BSP's variation that has tomato, cucumbers, crispy frizzled onions, feta cheese, homemade ranch dressing, and everything sprinkle seasoning. It was generously sized and refreshing. And there's nothing but good things to say about the Detroit-style ezzo pepperoni pie, except that i wish I had a bigger stomach to eat MORE. After the salad (shared), I was only able to manage one slice, but it was a happy slice. My first time trying Detroit-style and it didn't disappoint. PS: There's a tiny, very lumpy and bumpy parking lot in the back that is very tricky to maneuver back out of. If it hadn't been for an Uber driver who got briefly trapped back in there with me, I might still be there today

There is no…read moreshortage of pizza, as they have anywhere from 2,000 to 3,000 pizza restaurants using their family recipe to make some of the best pizzas in America. As the third-largest producer of tomatoes in the entire country, this key pizza-making ingredient not only sets New Jersey's classic 'tomato pies' apart from any ordinary pizza. This 10,000-square-foot, two-story establishment with a neon-lit sign on Glenwood Ave in Bloomfield asks, "Just another pizzeria?" They also house a 20-seat speakeasy that's open Thursday through Saturday called the Rab.bit Hole that can be found upstairs behind a hidden entrance. Opened in 2020, Blue Steel Pizza Company is the answer and should become obvious after looking at the menu. A reservation was easily made via Resy. My partner and I were greeted at the host station and got a regular table in the 1st-floor dining room by the pizza oven in the middle. The vibe was modern and industrial. Patrons had to use their phone flashlights to read the menu as the lighting was pretty dim. They are known for their Detroit-style pizza--a pie baked in a rectangular, traditionally blue-steel pan, the kind once used by autoworkers. It's made with a blend of mozzarella cheese and traditional Wisconsin brick cheese that melts down the side of the pie, making for a burnt, gooey, cheesy crust. It's cold-fermented for three days and is closer to sourdough. It has real flavor and an airier texture. It's like a lighter version of a Sicilian with a buttery crust. As a starter, we decided on the Chopped Salad. For our main entrée, we opted for the Jersey Tomato Pizza Pie. Portions run big enough for sharing, and we downed them with the 1911 Cider. The pizza crust was light, airy, and crispy with the right amount of fresh ingredients, making the ensemble tastefully delicious. The staff was attentive, friendly, and accommodating, and our server was Adam. The price was comparable to the area. We had a wonderful experience and would recommend this place.

I know it sort of changed management to a lovely guy whose name I don't remember who when he first took over came out with samples of delicious specialty pizza and warmly greeted everyone. I placed an order for delivery two days ago. The pizza was good as usual but the lentil soup was really salty, no exaggeration enough to overpower any taste of lentils - I added two cups of water and threw in some ditalini, added garlic, and it was still salty. I'm not sure why that would happen but here's a full proof way to make good lentil soup: per pound of dry lentils, first sautee a chopped medium onion, chopped large stalk of celery and a large or two medium size carrots, two cloves of chopped garlic in some olive oil, then add the lentils, and around 3-4 inches of water above the line of lentils and allow to simmer, don't add salt until it's closer to the lentils being cooked. People with high blood pressure or pregnant cannot handle the amount of salt that was added. It was worse than canned soup. I have ordered it before, last time was around 4 years ago and it was fine. Of course, it may just be an error or a new person making the soup. I have thought that since the change in management, maybe a seasoned Italian woman cook in the kitchen might be a good addition to at least train the staff. I get the impression that the staff are more pizza makers than cooks. I ordered an artichoke not long ago that tasted good but was not fully cooked, my friend ordered lasagne that was covered in mozzarella and was probably over microwaved or however it is heated, and was like paste. This isn't intended to be rude but to point out that for the most part I like your food but feel like certain things can use more care.

We decided to make a trip last night for Saturday dinner. We were seated in the dining room in the back of the pizzeria. When we opened our menus and began to read, we saw a bunch of "rules" for ordering in the dining room. I was informed that we were unable to order just pizza - we had to order appetizers and/or entrées with the pizza. I was also informed that we couldn't order sandwiches in the dining room. Since we had just planned to order pizza, we were forced to also order additional dishes to keep our seat in the dining room. I ordered Penne Vodka as an entrée. For the pizza, the dough had a good texture. I really like when it's cooked in a pan and there's a little but of a thicker crust. The sauce and cheese, however, was lacking in flavor. It seemed to be missing some salt or garlic. The entrees were just okay, nothing spectacular. I wasn't a huge fan of the chunky tomato sauce used in the pasta dishes. I was a bit disappointed since Ralph's was highly rated by Barstool's One Bite. I don't think I will be rushing back. Pizza: 3/5 Penne Vodka: 3/5
