Ametis Pizza has always been a favorite of ours, but after tonight, they've earned a lifelong customer. Not only is the food consistently delicious, but the kindness we experienced was truly above and beyond. My car suddenly stalled at the entrance of the shopping center and people were getting impatient, honking, and making the situation stressful -- especially with my little guy in the backseat. The chef himself came out, jumped right into action, and helped get us to safety without hesitation. He didn't even think twice. If your order ran a few minutes behind tonight, it's because he was out there being a real-life hero. I have to tell you we found Ameti's during COVID and have not turned back since. One thing that was funny is the billing was printed on lined paper it was funny and a talking point each time we ordered. Since then stopped that but I have to say I miss it LOL. Food is always good never an issue. When I have parties at the house I always order from them and normally order around 2 times a week from the Slice App. These guys are knocking it out of the park in my view. Spent about 11$ for 2 slices of pizza & a can of soda. The slices were thin, tasteless, burnt & difficult to eat. The crust was cracked & droopy. Pizza is...not good. But I forgot, Jersey is trash and that's reflected in the pizza and bagel scene. You also know pizza isn't legit when it's served with ranch dressing. This is not the Midwest. Amazing, a few miles outside of NYC and it's another planet. Ordered delivery. It came already cold. Like...the mozz sticks may as well have been still frozen, the chicken wings were soggy, and the pizza wasn't fresh anymore. The customer's favorite pizza was maybe the best one (but not that great), mac and cheese pizza wasn't that good, buffalo chicken pizza was disappointing, and the margherita pizza which looked the best, was very wet. Not only did the delivery driver call and harass a 96 year old who they claimed order a pizza but when I explained she didn't order anything he used vulgar words towards us when we explained we didn't order anythin. I couldn't reach the restaurant by phone or text. when they called back the rude man on the phone wouldn't give me his restaurant location and told me was wrong and hung up on me. Stranded at a shipper and no lunch options around I looked to Yelp for help. Based on reviews and Price I ordered my lunch from Ameti's Pizza. Best decision in weeks. My cheese pizza was cooked exactly as I ordered. The crust is a nice crisp outside with a soft, yet cooked, airy center. There was plenty of cheese and sauce that made this a delightful pizza! I also ordered a Italian Sandwich. I had some special instructions and they followed them exactly. I'm so impressed! The sandwich was made on a soft French roll that had plenty of meat and cheese with the appropriate amount of fixings to complete the perfect tasting sandwich. I would order from here anytime I'm in the area. For $20 I got a pizza, and sandwich and that includes a nice tip for the driver! This will complete my lunch and dinner fir a day. I have been ordering food from Amet's for years and it has always been wonderful. Maybe they were having a off evening but the food was disappointing especially the rice ball; a thick fried outer layer, brown lettuce in the salad and the incorrect salad, and the pasta drenched in sauce. Ordered thru Grub Hub at 6:19 pm -delivery said to be between 7:19 and 7:39pm. 7:45 pm no delivery so we We called and were told on way. Order arrived at around 8:04 pm. Pizza was cold not even warm. Antipasto was good from the tiny taste I had. Called Customer Service to complain and were offered a 20% discount on our next order from them. Seriously??? They probably have a handout menu with 25% off just to get business. We will never order again, so they come back with we will refund you but only if we pick up the order and it is uneaten. Well having waited nearly two hours for delivery we were a bit hungry! We had two slices and a small portion of the salad. So we packed it back up and left it on our porch because we had to get something else for dinner and couldn't wait another 2 hours for them to pick up their order. 0 stars for customer service!!! The first time I ordered, there was some snow and slush on the ground so I was okay with waiting over an hour. The second time, it was about an hour and a half and my caprese pizza and wings were cold. Crust was hard from sitting out, but the pizza was great (would've been better if hot). But after today's experience, they have lost a customer. I ordered a large veggie pizza and it tasted horrible. Burned base, no salt or seasoning. It was inedible. Once they called back to ask what happened, I explained and the owner questioned me about what I wanted. No acknowledging that the customer could be right or apologizing in any way or trying to make up for it. I told him I wanted another pizza because it was $20 pizza down the drain. He called me over to give a replacement and started inspecting the pizza and acting as if the inedible thing passed for a pizza and like we were trying to cheat him out of a pizza. I've ordered from this place regularly over the past three years, and sometimes it's really good, they have some great dishes & their sandwich specials are a great value....other times it's just the closest, cheapest place to order from. I wanted to buy my friend dinner tonight, all she wanted was a breaded chicken cutlet sandwich with Romain lettuce and croutons. She asked for that on the phone and the girl said "a chicken Caesar sandwich?" My friend said yes, but no cheese and no dressing with a breaded cutlet. Just dry, then repeated just chicken lettuce and croutons on bread dry no cheese no dressing....And then we ordered my fat boy sandwich. When the order got here, my friends sandwich was literally lettuce , cheese, and a grilled cutlet drenched in dressing(the literal opposite of what she ordered) And my sandwich just wasn't very good, the chicken fingers on my sandwich were very rubbery & didn't taste good,nothing was crispy. We called to see if maybe she just mixed the sandwich up with someone else's because we've had the wrong order delivered by accident to us before. She automatically knew who we were when we called & we were given a nasty attitude as soon as we said our address we ordered from, I tried to explain the sandwich was wrong & we specifically ordered it the way we did as to not cause the confusion, she kept saying We asked for a chicken Caesar wrap (not even close) we explained that it wasn't the first time the food had been wrong & that we order from there multiple times a week & she continued to be rude, saying if you order here why don't you know how to order your sandwich, when we asked to speak with the owner she then hung up on. They also always arrived before the scheduled delivery time, which is always appreciated. The food is delicious, with their salads being my favorite! They don't even start making the food until we call for an update after they've missed the delivery time. Never fails.
