I'm pretty sure somebody told me they had the "best" pizza & I "had" to try it. It was very good, but didn't quite live up to the hype to being called the best & would have been completely fine having never had tried it. I did try it, so now you don't have to. The ingredients were defiantly high quality and the pizza was made was out together & baked very nicely. I tried a variety of slices so I could get a good representation of their food and report back to you accurately. The plain slice was just that, plain. But like they say about sex, even if it's bad, it's good. The margarita slice was very good, the cheese & sauce complimented each other nicely. I'm not sure what that other slice I fit is called but that was my favorite. The restaurant was clean. The service was quick and friendly. The prices are reasonable. If you're I the area looking for some pizza or Italian food, give them a try.

This place is trash. Ordered food for delivery. Ordered a 14' pie with sausage and few other items. Got a pie with extra cheese about a pound to cheese on it. The second I lifted the box it was so heavy that I knew it was extra cheese before I even open the box.(made my fair share of pizzas and deliveries). The cheese and sausage are all on one side of the box and due to the amount of cheese and being busy the pizza was under cooked. Called back politely to let them know it was wrong and the lady was extremely rude made it seem like we're crazy and told us we would have to reorder to get a new pie. The fact I'm leaving a review when I've left one review ever says how wrong this pizza was made and how rude this lady was. Have some respect for people ordering and spending their hard earned money.

The salmon dog is great for the palate and for the 'gram. Even as someone who controversially extends the boundaries of what counts as hand food, I had to use a fork for this epic sandwich. The cod fish & chips, at $19.50, consists of flavorful filets and is now a large enough portion to be a whole meal. When I dined in, I was offered one of three kinds of mayo dip - spicy, garlic-infused, and one more that I can't remember - as a supplement to their creamy tartar sauce. in addition, clam chowder has been added to the menu. I agree with another poster that it would have done well to have more briny clam flavor, but nevertheless, it was still good enough for me to finish. I really like that the person running the front of house brought the orders to the table, greeted frequent patrons with a "nice to see you again", and asked everyone if the food was good. I'm interested to see how my next visit goes!

The restaurant when you walk in has a very nice bar area and we were sat in the room just next to it nearby with an electric fireplace wall. It was in the middle of the week and we had a reservation, but it was not crowded at all. However, the server took a very long time to come to take orders to let us know about any specials, and we on a number of occasions had to ask for extra bread or more water. That was highly disappointing. Made the reservation based on Yelp reviews. However, in our experience, we did not have as satisfactory of an experience. members of our party ordered filet mignon, ribeye and short rib, and CB chicken scarpariello, and rigatoni bolognaise. We ordered a number of oysters on the half shell, the buffalo mozzarella, some fried calamari, and Tuna tartare to start and baked clams. Ordered an old fashioned but was too sweet. Pappardelle with large, meaty scallops was the standout. The Steaks were cooked to medium rare and rare as requested. Daughter enjoyed the ravioli. What wasn't as enjoyable and overdone was the rigatoni. The orrechiette with broccoli rabe and sausage was fine but needed healthy sprinkle of cheese for flavor. We brought our own birthday cake from Gencarellis in nearby Bloomfield which was appreciated and ordered some cappuccino and espresso. They already included a 20% gratuity in the bill which was fine for a large party but based on the actual service felt like overtipping.

We were seated in the back area as there was about 8 to 10 of us. The well drinks (tito, margarita, etc) were priced at $10 and appetizers priced at the same. I ordered a lemon drop martini to drink, grilled oysters and steak crostini to eat. My grilled oysters were okay, except for one that has some "crunch"...lol to it. My steak was medium and cooked as ordered. But the show stopper was definitely the lemon drop martini, it was a good strong. So I ordered a second. Also there is a parking lot, and they were offering valet when we went. I enjoyed the food I had as an entree (steak frites). What I didn't like was our waiter was constantly trying to up charge us. He kept asking if we wanted to add specific things to all our orders and even if we said no, he still insisted on it. This even occurred with shots of alcohol. I explicitly said I was driving and didn't want it and still shots were brought out with out us even asking. We thought maybe he was being very nice. Or maybe something was included we didn't know about ( what was added were things like a Caesar salad, Brussel sprouts, and sweet potato fries so it easy to see how we didn't see it was things out of the ordinary included as sides for meals) or we were for some reason getting something comped, but that was not the case. Our bill was ASTRONOMICAL. If we didn't have these items we didn't want added on, it would have been fine but this type of way of doing business makes me never want to go back. We considered fighting the bill, but we did eat the food because at the time we thought it was either included or comped. Please be aware of this if you visit this restaurant, and if you are insisted upon adding things to your order learn from our mistake and ask more questions if it's included or make sure you explicitly say NO.

The guacamole is plentiful and tasty. Also the salsa was delish too. My table patrons didn't like the clam chowder. They said it was too salty. For the mains we ordered the roasted chicken, hot chicken sandwich and the Cajun seafood alfredo The Hot chicken was divine and huge. You won't be disappointed with that one. Good amount of spice. The roasted chicken was lemon rosemary jus was delicious as well. I ordered the pasta which was supposed to come with jumbo shrimp and andouille sausage. As soon as I received my dish I asked the waitress where the sausage was, she couldn't answer but went to get her manager. The manager said normally it's under the pasta. Still, no sausage in the pasta. They apologized and made the sausage and added it to the pasta. I wish that was the only issue. The menu states that it's a cajun Alfredo sauce and hate to say but this was just bland. Not flavorful at all. 2 waiters recommended it but I'm not sure why. I'd give it a 2.5 out of 5. The portion size was good but again no real taste. Overall this was a nice place. I just need to study the menu and read more reviews about what to order here.

There's just something about them that you can't recreate. Yesterday, my buddies and I were supposed to hit The Belmont Tavern, but they were closed for the week. Rather than scrap the plan, we pivoted to Matthew's Italian Restaurant at the suggestion of one of the guys in the crew. What a great find. We were pleasantly surprised that an old school spot like this had somehow escaped us all these years. The atmosphere was exactly what we were looking for, the staff was awesome, and most importantly, the food delivered. We came out swinging with Clams Oreganata, Meatballs, Stuffed Mushrooms, Mozzarella Carrozza, and two different types of Ravioli. Needless to say, the table filled up pretty quickly. For dinner, most of the crew went with either the Veal Parm or Chicken Parm. A nice touch is that they'll do the parm with vodka sauce if you want to switch things up. I went with the steak special and had absolutely no regrets. Dessert was on point too, but I'll leave a little something to your imagination. (But time can be slippery and it took a bit longer than expected for a follow-up visit.) I'm happy to report that first time was not a fluke and this place IS worthy of putting into steady rotation*. (* - if money's not an issue) I'm boring - both visits I went with the (homemade) pasta specials and they were incredible. The Mrs. is equally boring and got the branzino each time. (And loved it both times.) One kid tried the (gulp, $60) steak special and kept raving about it. (Well, he wasn't keen on the zucchini but what teen really digs that veg, right?) The other kid loves bolognese and was happy with their version. A lovely small and warm restaurant. Limited menu with a handful of specials. It's not cheap. (A wee bit over $50 a person and we didn't get appetizers or dessert and only had sparkling water.) BYOB. (Limited) street parking. The host/owner - you won't find a more inviting and personable figure who is clearly proud of what he's created.
