Next, we had the scallop wrapped in bacon, which was excellent. I ordered a coconut-mango margarita that was incredibly good. Our main course was filet mignon, cooked perfectly medium-rare and seasoned to my preference. The carb cake was okay. My husband had chicken parmesan served over angel hair pasta, which he found just okay--the pasta was quite bland. The Brussels sprouts that came with my steak were delicious. This is a date night with the hub and we had been here one other time before and it was for lunch. We tried a few of their chicken entrees tonight. I am not here to slander this establishment, but I am beyond disappointed in my dinner last night. I booked about a month in advance for mine and my boyfriend's first Valentine's Day. It took them about five minutes to find our reservation, even though we had our confirmation pulled up on our phone.When I looked up this restaurant, I looked at the pictures so that I can get what kind of vibes they have, if it's upscale or casual so I know what to wear because that's just something I do when I look up a place. I am not sure what was going on there but as someone who used to be in the service industry I get it. We ordered our first round of drinks, they took a while to get to us as well and it was nothing crazy. I got a Prosecco, which they didn't even pour for me. They brought me the tiny bottle of Prosecco and the glass. That's fine. My boyfriend ordered a bottled beer and a glass with that I don't know why they took so long but OK fine. They gave us bread butter that was fine but you can't mess that up, they brought us over their complementary peppers, which actually was my favorite thing, that & the Prosecco. We ordered the shrimp de jonghe appetizer, which was OK. My boyfriend orders the ribeye. Medium I ordered the rigatoni à la vodka. he ordered mushroom and onions on top of his steak. It did not come that way. It came with their signature red onion on the side and his steak was so undercooked. I know how he likes his steaks. I know my steaks as well it was very undercooked. I like my steak that way, but he does not, and not to mention all the grizzle, and the fat that the steak was mostly made up of he could barely cut it. I was just watching him tackle that steak all night. I couldn't look away. Moving onto the rigatoni à la vodka. It was the worst I've ever had. Being someone that cooks very very well. I've made this from scratch and that just was not good at all. I gave it a try. I had a few bites and just moved my plate to the side. Didn't say anything to the waitress because what she gonna do. What's the restaurant gonna do? Change the recipe really quick? No I knew there couldn't be anything done, so I don't want to complain to them or make a big deal. I just ordered another round of drinks which took forever to get to us. We arrived there at 7 o'clock for a reservation, our main entrée didn't arrive till about 8:30. We were there for two hours and not because we wanted to because everything took so long to come out even the soups that came with our entrées took forever to come out and they were not good. It was like some watered down chicken noodle soup you get from a can. I literally just ate the green peppers and had Prosecco. Which was the only enjoyable thing for me and I don't eat bread so I did not have any of that. I stopped going to dinner there because they fried my filet mignon steak and would not take it off my bill as I ordered a medium well steak and they burned it. I waited 5 years to go back and guess what they did it again! The owners were not gracious about it. even after ordering such an expensive meal. We have been here few times and had a good experience Our waiter and the back waiter were super cool and very attentive. The complementary appetizer of sweet peppers was a perfect start to the meal. My wife had the lake perch and that was very tasty, unfortunately my New York strip came out medium well and not medium as requested. It's always disappointing paying a premium for a steak at a steak house only to have the steak come out at a different temperature. This was also our anniversary dinner. Had a delicious dinner there last night for my birthday with my wife ,we both had steaks that were absolutely delicious and done to perfection.We started out with the mixed grill app. It was my first experience with octopus besides calamari it was tender and delicious. I visited Gino's Prime & Surf on a Saturday evening to celebrate my dad's birthday. The location is clean and has a relaxing atmosphere. Our server was prompt. We ordered 1/2 dozen of New Orleans style oysters, a crab cake, a lobster tail, surf and turf with a lobster tail, salads, sides and a piece of chocolate cake. All of the food took a while to come out. Even the table next to us started to ask for the manager. My dad visits the location often and said this wasn't the normal wait time. After about an hour after ordering our food still wasn't out. He asked our server what was the delay she responded "the other 170 other people here and 3 chefs in the kitchen" with a semi sharp tone. I def think there was a more polite way to answer that question. On to the food. The oysters and lobster tail were delicious! Very good. The chocolate cake was also very good! Moist and a great chocolate flavor. My filet was DRY and tasteless. Not even salt could be tasted. I ordered medium, yet the meat was still very dry and bland. My broccoli was bland as well. When reviewing the bill the next day, I see my server charged me for the incorrect surf and turf ($5 more than the one I ordered) and we were billed $10 for a non cash fee. To begin with our server with a wonderful. Our first steaks, one ribeye one fillet we ordered, medium rare. They were both well done. The texture of a hockey book. The baked potatoes that came out were ice cold. They brought us new steaks. The ribeye was almost un edible. It had so much gristle that it was difficult to cut with a steak knife, let alone chew.. Here for my brothers birthday dinner. I had never been here. The decor and ambiance is beautiful. I tried Alligator Bites for the first time and they were good. It was 12 of us our bill totaled $910 including the gratuity and the food in my opinion was good. The soup unfortunately was Luke warm so a couple people sent it back. A couple steaks 1. that was supposed to be medium well and 1. well done were sent back because they were still too rare. Other than that every body was happy with there food and drinks. My sister tried Black Cherry Whiskey. Alex was our waiter and he was amazing!! Very patient and truly worked hard, Free parking in the front and back. This restaurant blew away all expectations that I had. Our server was very professional and friendly. I remember Gino's when it was in Harvey Illinois. I have to say I was rather disappointed in my rib eye steak. If I have to excessively chew my meat, it falls short of being a PRIME cut and ends up being a disappointing CHOICE cut. I know my steaks. I don't get fooled easily. Another thing that bothered me, there is a poorly enforced dress code in this so called upscale establishment. Some of the people dining here were dressed like slobs. Doesn't fly well with me. We took a chance on New Years reservations and were not disappointed. Never even got to our table. Made a 7pm reservation for our anniversary dinner. We got married on NYE, so dinner reservations are always necessary. I replied a text and an email confirming my reservation. Several groups had been waiting an hour or more for their reservation. There is no way we could wait until 8:30pm to get to our table so we had to leave and cancel our reservation. Very disappointed. We couldn't just walk into another nice restaurant at 7:30 on NYE so we didn't get an anniversary dinner at all. Not sure how this could happen at an established restaurant. They should have called people with reservations and let us know that they were running extremely behind. With some notice, we could have planned on arriving at 8:30pm rather than our original 7pm reservation and maybe made it work. read more

The culmination of this disappointing experience prompted us to escalate the matter to the manager, who, to his credit, promptly acknowledged the mishandling of the situation and expressed regret for the inconvenience caused. His admission that we could indeed have been accommodated on the patio only served to underscore the incompetence of the hostess's actions. While the culinary offerings, particularly the steak, managed to salvage some semblance of enjoyment amidst the debacle, it is regrettable that such excellence in cuisine was overshadowed by the abysmal service we encountered. He is well versed in the menu and can recommend anything that fits your mood to make the night one to remember. I started with the house salad with ranch dressing. Te ranch was so good I almost drank it. Next was the entree. I struggled between the rib eye and the lamb. I ended up going with the 24oz bone in ribeye! Good lord that's the close to the best steak I've ever had. Lastly was dessert.... Adam brought out a tray of samples as a visual of the many different options. I'm really picky about cheesecake and just returned from New York where they DO CHEESECAKE. I had the New York cheesecake that Adam recommended.... A very nice experience on all points starting with the menu. One gripe I have about some Italian restaurants is the lack of a meat sauce and/or lack of sauce variety. I didn't see that here. Also the menu seems pretty well balanced. The service was good. It could have been better but I got the impression my waitress was new so there's some forgiveness there. Good attitude and atmosphere. The staff seemed to work together well. The food was good. I'd have the crab cake again. It did take a while for my entree to arrive though. There is a full bar. I would come back here. I had been here for lunch and it was quite good, everything was fresh and cooked perfectly. Was raving about it and returned with a friend for a nice dinner and lots of chatting. It was extremely disappointing. We had an eggplant appetizer that was very overcooked, hard to cut. Then, our fish was overcooked. It was awful and a complete waste of money. We wanted to get a bottle of champagne and I recall there was Prosecco and then no offerings on champagne at a reasonable price. Sparking wine but the real bubbles were wildly overpriced, no in-between offers. Also, just constant interruptions from the waitress and bus staff throughout the entire dinner. Enough! We liked the look of the restaurant & location convenience to our home, along with 2 private rooms with projection screens for potential dinner meetings/presentations & our . patio seating was nice. When we leave half of a crab cake, steaks ordered medium are brought out well done, we forget that we ordered salad because it took so long, wasn't good upon arrival and when the waitress tries to tell my husband he ordered a T-bone, not salmon.... I wanted this review to be a good one. I really really did. I had such high hopes for this restaurant, from the moment I saw their Facebook and made a reservation for my 11th wedding anniversary dinner to when my husband and I entered the restaurant. I ordered a cocktail for around $11 expecting a decent sized cocktail. Instead, I got a cocktail in a nice but small glass. We ordered the crab cake as an appetizer and it was fairly large but had very little crab in it and no chunks but simply flake crab. The shrimp cocktail was good but the shrimp cocktail sauce was so spicy you couldn't eat it. The peppers they brought to the table were very vinegary. The bread is good though. We ordered the surf and turf (the lobster add filet) and while we saw MKP (aka Market Price) we had no idea that market price would be as expensive as it was. We didn't ask and that was on us. We figured go big on the 11th anniversary dinner. The food came out in good time, however, my filet was overcooked and my husband's was under cooked. The double baked potato was large and just okay. The lobster was, however, amazing. As soon as we got our food, our server went missing. We were left to our own devices, just as the table next to us was toward the beginning of our service. Our waitress would pop up to serve the tables around us but simply turn her back on us and walk away. We had to track down a bus person(?) to bring us containers for our food. Not one time were we checked on after receiving our food. When we got our check we were floored. Market price was $128 each! Our bill was over $300 for a mixed drink, a root beer, a pepsi, two apps, and two surf and turfs (with over and undercooked steaks). It was a gut punch because the price of the food paired with service that was mediocre at best makes the 11 year wedding anniversary dinner seem not worth it. Lesson learned, always ask what Market Price is that day. For such expensive food and such a beautiful restaurant, good customer service is expected. That didn't happen. At all. For such high prices, the crab cake should be crabby. The steaks should be cooked to order. The guest shouldn't be ignored. Next year..we're going to Red Lobster.
