Got a minute? You have to try this place. Normally I find another cultures take on an American take of a food to be mediocre at best and it usually just becomes a mix of odd flavors. THIS IS NOT THAT. This is a Pakistani Take on traditional Chinese food and It is phenomenal. Each bite was flavorful and the basmati fried rice was fantastic. What really blew me was the red hot and sour soup. Yes RED. There is a red tomato base soup and a white vinegar taste soup. The red I just couldn't stop eating. I barely had room for the corn soup, firecracker shrimp, dumplings and what has to be the absolutely best take on generals chicken I've ever had. As for the heat usually noticeable in Pakistani classics they are present but more palatable. It's more of a touch than a smack. As for the restaurant itself. It is immaculately clean. I was even embarrassed I had dropped a little soup on the table. You can see into the kitchen through large rolling doors and everything was absolutely spotless. The ambiance is a modern Chinese style and the service was stellar. No less than three servers checked in my status and Hamna was right there with her eye always scanning the patrons should any need arise.

My friends and I came here for dinner. It was meh. The food was pretty small for the price . Especially with the dumplings. The cost of six dumplings was 17 bucks.. the garlic rice was basically sprinkled with garlic on top. It didn't taste like it was cooked altogether. The beef chicken was not tender or easy to bite apart.. The picture and the quality of the food didn't really amaze me or a stick out. Almost really hard to say I felt satisfied. Everything did have a kick if you're into spicy food. But overall, the food was... just meh. The staff was... meh. They do not offer tapwater you have to buy a bottle of water but won't tell you that tap water wasn't an option. The "bar" is where you just enter the restaurant. The tables and chairs were steady and there's free parking out front .

Finally got the chance to go to @ginsoy_usa, I have been to the locations in Karachi many times. I was very excited to try it here in the US. we ordered multiple items like the Hot & Sour Soup, Dynamite Shrimp, Spicy Chickn Schezwan Wontons, Chicken Manchurian, and Crispy Bejing Beef. first off, the Spicy Chicken Schezwan Wontons were amazing, very flavorful. another item that I really enjoyed was the Crispy Bejing Beef, perfectly seasoned with a kick to it. Overall we enjoyed our meal.

So we finally got to try this famous Pakistani Chinese place after trying once and having a two hour wait on a Saturday we try to go on a weekday and of course we were seated right away. We got recommendations but the hot and sour soup with white was to die for it had a bit of citrus and a bit of home with it. It wasn't your typical hot and sour soup. The quantities were amazing along with the food quality. I see why this is a hype here in Richmond. It was a bit confusing with the waiter situation, but other than that the service was great food was delectable and it wasn't your ordinary Chinese. You can come here as a family girls night any night ambience is in the middle. The chicken, I would definitely get it again. I love a saucy sweet spicy chicken, and this was the perfect blend along with the noodles. Will be back, now serving lunch!

Service and vibe of the place is good. Pretty quick to get the food out and plenty of space. I think the food though was a bit pricy for what we got and didn't taste like it was worth what we paid. Its a Pakistani restaurant even if the dishes say they are Asian style. The flavorings are all Pakistani which isn't bad but was wishing they were more Asian style. But my main issue is this place is pretty expensive. Ended up paying around $95 for two people which, for the amount of things we ordered felt like a lot.

I came here on a Wednesday right at 5 pm to beat the crowd. Overall, the ambiance of this restaurant is really nice, but I will say the tables are way too small considering the dishes they serve are family style. There was barely enough room on the table to fit all our dishes. The food was mediocre at best. We got the orange chicken, Mongolian beef, Szechuan noodles, and the dynamite chicken. Dynamite chicken - tasted like a glorified chicken tender with too little sauce Orange chicken - sauce was too thin and flavor was just okay Mongolian beef - too salty Szechuan noodles - probably the best thing we ate. Would give it a 7/10 Service was okay. We got the orange chicken and steamed rice first and didn't get the rest of our main dishes for another 20 mins or so, and they kept coming out one by one. Surprising since we had our orders placed prior to the rush starting. They did ask for our feedback on the food, and when we told them what we thought. They said they would pass the comments on the their chef. Overall, I would say this place is not worth the hype. 1) it's expensive ($88 for 2 people before gratuity), 2) the food is not that good, and 3) nothing can ever beat the original in Pakistan, and I would say this doesn't even come close.

I had such a good time at Ginsoy, a Karachi favorite that just opened here in Houston. I tried the dynamite shrimp, white pepper hot and sour soup, Beijing beef, chicken chow mein, chicken Manchurian and fried rice. We had to get the mint lemonade to complete the meal! Everything was so delicious and really hit the spot. I made sure to tell the waiter I wanted mild spice since everything was super spicy last time my sister went. They adjusted it for us and even though it still had a kick, it was perfect. The individual portions are pretty big, especially the rice. It's a little overpriced, but the food and vibe made up for it. One thing I did find odd was that when you ask for water, they bring bottled water. You're dining at a nice restaurant and drinking from plastic bottles? We also had to wait a while for our food (I think the waiter forgot to put in our order) but he was really sweet and apologetic, so it wasn't a big deal. Overall, the food was amazing so I'll be back with an appetite!

Have been very excited about this one! I was there today and it was the first day of their soft opening here in Richmond, Texas (Aliana) I have had Ginsoy multiple times in Karachi and it's my favorite Chinese restaurant there so I had high expectations for it being franchised here. The ambiance was very nice and elegant. I wasn't disappointed and I hope it stays this way! The timings for now are from 5 pm to 10 pm and last order is at 9.30 pm. We reached at 6 pm and had a 1.5 hour waiting (we were 6 people) and were given a table by 7.30 pm. The space is small so there's not much waiting area, there's plenty of parking spots. Just to be clear, it was very busy and the service was very slow but it was normal considering the overwhelming response to the launch. We were ready to order but we were told the system was down and the food was on the house! Our waitress was very nice- we were given crackers for appetizers followed by pan fried beef dumplings and steamed shrimp dumplings. Everything was delicious and there was a spicy sauce on the side which really hit the spot! We were then served the red chicken hot and sour soup and it was just like I remember it tastes in Karachi so I was very happy about that! We were then served chicken chowmein, spicy schwezan chicken, and chicken fried rice. Everything was so delicious and the spicy schwezan chicken had a great spicy flavor! Loved it I felt very satisfied coming and can't wait to go back and become a regular here! 10/10 Definitely recommend going early if you're planning to visit this week, otherwise maybe next week would get less busier and hopefully the hours will become longer!

My husband and I decided to try Ginsoy in Aliana for lunch this week. We arrived around 12:05 PM and were the only customers dining in at the time, although there were several takeout orders waiting to be picked up. After sitting for a few minutes, a waiter came by and took our drink order. We both asked for water, but were told they only offer Fiji bottled water, not regular tap. We had to flag the waiter down again to place our food order, which we did around 12:20 PM. We ordered: * Shrimp dumplings (6 pieces, ~$16) * Fried rice * Green papaya salad Shortly after placing our order, another couple came in and were seated. During our wait, several Uber Eats drivers picked up to-go orders, but no other dine-in customers arrived. We received the dumplings around 12:40 PM, but still no sign of the rest of our food. As it approached 1 PM, we asked about our order and were told it was "coming soon." Meanwhile, the couple who came in after us received their food. After a second inquiry, the waiter said he'd check on our food again. Still nothing. Around 1:15 PM, we told him we'd need to leave soon. He asked us to wait just a little longer, claiming the food was almost ready. My husband told him to pack it to-go instead. We waited several more minutes but still no food, so we walked to the register to settle the bill. That's when someone who seemed to be the manager or owner came over, apologized, and blamed the delay on mechanical problems in the kitchen. Oddly enough, those mechanical problems didn't seem to affect the other couple or the steady stream of takeout orders. Overall, this was a disappointing first experience. The food we did get (the dumplings) was fine, but the slow service, lack of communication, and inconsistent treatment left us with little interest in returning. Hopefully others have a better experience, but unfortunately, ours was frustrating and far from welcoming. The owner/manager did come to the register and comped the entire meal and that was their only "saving grace" with the whole ordeal.

    Not a burger place.
    Ahma H.

We decided upon this locale based on the exterior signage. We thought this was a burger place in a nice strip mall locale and were confused when we walked in with a large unmanned shake bar and a restaurant with a pretty seating, greeted by a sign serving as hostess which stated, "Please wait to be seated." So we decided to give it a try. The food described by staff is a fusion of Chinese vegetables and proteins with Pakistani spices and desi sauces. The menu is accessible via QR code. The staff is pleasant and welcoming to non Pakistani speakers. The colors of the interiors are pleasing. What caught my attention was the contrast of Japanese accents which feature a large wooden centerpiece of dragons and the Japanese rising sun, and booths are reminiscent of a traditional Japanese pergolas and Japanese watercolor lanterns and sushi bar fashioned fabric adorn a good portion of the dining area ceiling. Counterbalance is loud and upbeat Desi music which fills the atmosphere. As other Yelpers have noted Fiji bottled water is very good and the only water option as well as canned drinks. Food was freshly prepared and viewed in an open kitchen. I wasn't familiar enough with the flow and it took me some time to adjust to the form and function of the place. I wish them well with their creation.

The food here was very good. We ordered the Manchurian chicken, the dynamite chicken and the crunchy chili chicken. Our favorite was the chili chicken. The owner was very genuine, even with a packed restaurant of 60+ people, he came to our table, asked how the food was, and wanted a genuine response, truly wanting to know what we liked and disliked to improve for the future. Definitely recommen

Went to Ginsoy last night and surprisingly the wait time was 15 mins which wasn't bad. We ordered their dynamite shrimp, veggie fried rice, beef chili dry, hot & sour soup and pina colada. The pina colada was excellent. Food was average to us. Beef chili dry was a bit greasy and fried rice was basmati - the taste was better the next day as left overs. Would I give it a second chance? Perhaps but not dying to be back. A little underwhelming. Service was a solid 10/10!

We ain't in Queens anymore…read more For years, I've eaten on Shah's all around the borough, initially out in Ozone Park and Briarwood before finding a real audience in Sunnyside. Now that they've sufficiently blown up around NYC, I was a bit shocked (and excited) to see them finally come to H-Town. What's the verdict? It's good enough to pass muster for NY standards (#1), is open super late, and will likely be my go-to Halal food for the foreseeable future. Since I've only had it in cart form, I'm still a buggin over the fact it's become a franchise. It's similar to my shock of eating Halal Guys at a store for the first time. The digs feel as foreign (prices, large, clean and bright interior) as it does familiar (taste, logo, etc.). Even though I had a laugh seeing the wall photo-mural of a Shah's cart in Times Square, I did appreciate the nod to Ozone Park with the 121st & Liberty street signs. The chicken + lamb combo platter ($12) is and always will be the winner. The lamb had the same kind of seasoning that most Halal spots out here try to replicate but can never get right. The rice was fluffy, and the white sauce was easily the highlight. I can understand why they've decided to bottle it up and sell it as liquid gold. It makes every meal better. Kofta ($12) and chapli ($13) are rarely my favorites, but I knew I had both in platter form. The addition of adding chickpeas and these other salads is not something I'm used to from the carts (#2) but I loved the fact it was drowned in the white sauce with a dash of hot sauce. The latter is supposedly extremely hot, but I didn't find it that spicy. While I have to say the cheeseburger was a bit of a disappointment (overly bready, thin patty), the pakora chips and french fries were fabulous. They were perfectly seasoned, had a nice crisp, and frankly would be an excellent, gut-busting addition to any platter. I don't love the extra charge, but I hope they remain consistent with it. This store location in Westchase along Westheimer is an up and coming part of town. There are numerous Middle Eastern businesses in the adjacent area, along with an abundance of parking spots and a good amount of late night activity. Service was friendly but I do hope they keep their standards up. As time goes on, I'm 100% convinced this will be a destination for the many late night meal seekers and fans of NY nostaligia. __________ (#1) Which automatically supersedes a lot of the ones here in Houston. Just keeping it real. (#2) Is the chickpeas a Houston thing? Genuinely curious.

Excellent lamb over rice. Got a bogo offer on Uber eats, and decided to try it out after great yelp…read morereviews. Yelp was right. Flavorful, filling, and fresh. I got the white sauce on the lamb and the spicy red sauce on the side. Unfortunately after a few bites I put too much hot sauce on, which made it less enjoyable, but that was my fault. I'd order this again, very solid, reminded me of some of the best halal trucks in NYC. 5*.
