This is a nice teriyaki place with a good selection of food options. We tried the chicken yakisoba and some chicken fried rice. The nice gentleman behind the counter answered all our questions about what we ordered and the proceeded to cook it for us. He even made me some soy/garlic sauce for rice when I asked for some sauce and brought teriyaki sauce too. It was very good. I'm returning to try some teriyaki necmxt time. It pains me to write this review because they were my favorite teriyaki place back in the day. Things have changed. The restaurant is run down and falling apart, they don't even put soy sauce or teriyaki, or cutlery or napkins or anything on the tables like almost every other place does. Then the food itself - I got the combo teriyaki chicken and Mongolian Beef. The chicken and teriyaki sauce were pretty bland but passable. The beef however, was the worst version of Mongolian Beef I've ever had. Came in a thick gloopy but also flavorless sauce instead of the standard glazed and stir fried version. No crunchy noodles at the base either. It didn't even taste anything like a Mongolian beef sauce. I guess if you are in the area and there's no other place to eat, at least stick with the teriyaki, but avoid the Chinese dishes at all costs. read more

I have been going to Ginza for over a decade now, since my middle school days. I remember I would save up lunch money to go here with my friends all throughout middle school and high school. Even now, after college, still the best teriyaki place hands-down in Tacoma/University Place area. The teriyaki restaurant is family-owned. They're the sweetest owners ever. Given that, their service is amazing (especially dining in). The food portions were huge back in the day, and they're huge now! They haven't skimped out on their portions ever. Their food tastes delicious and fresh. It's my always go-to place. Their prices are affordable and definitely a bang for your buck with their portions. read more

Another teriyaki hit! I've kind of have developed a fondness for teriyaki after moving to the Pacific Northwest. Lately since covid-19 has hit I've been going to very good teriyaki restaurants lately... all to go of course to go home and dine upon. For Ginza I got the usual chicken teriyaki and nothing else. Like most places (this is before Phase 2 was initiated) I could place an order but automatically it was for "to go". After placing my order the gentleman said that he'd come out to my car with my order once it was ready which was different but more comfortable since it was in my car where my food arrived. The chicken teriyaki was awesome. The meat was tender, flavorful and very enjoyable to have at home. Definitely a satisfying meal and worth returning back to! read more

I am splitting my Teriyaki time between here and Happy Hana and I'll tell you why, in no particular order. 1. The staff is gracious and kind. 2. The value is incredible for the money : portion ratio. 3. They are fast. 4. The food tastes great. 5. I have seen them continue to follow COVID safety protocols meticulously, making sure that we are safe. 6. Given the rise in anti-Asian sentiment, I think it is very important that we show our support to Asian-owned businesses. It's the right thing to do and it's the right time to do it. After a harrowing year+ of COVID dampening business revenues, our neighbors still have to deal with the fear of being targeted. The best way we can combat this is by supporting them with our voices, our votes, and our dollars. read more

I've been going here for about 30 years ; this Saturday 2/4/23 was a bit busy but the worse service. The lady came out and complained that it was 7 if us that just walked in and why does everyone want something now.. I paid for dinner size and got my order it was lunch size... 1 scoop of rice when they always give 2... dinner size usually is large and this was less than a lunch portion. I'm incredibly Disappointed and wish I had of cancelled my order after she came from the kitchen to complain about us ordering food... this was the worse service ever and to hear them arguing was embarrassing and uncomfortable. Brought out on a ginormous plate with one scoop of rice and less than a half a cup of chicken teriyaki and sweet-and-sour chicken. This review gets 2 stars because the people were so sweet. Unfortunately, the food not so much. We spend about $64 on 4 meals that none of us finished. Some only took 3 bites. Overall the food was bland, the rice mushy, the fried rice tasteless, the Mongolian beef was rubbery, and the teriyaki chicken had tendons which was just repulsive. None of the food even tasted Chinese - more like old brown gravy. This was takeout and we tried it because our usual place was closed. We definitely will not be going back. read more

Ginza Teriyaki is hands down one of my favorite teriyaki places for the simple sake of their homemade teriyaki sauce.. The lady who's always here (I assume is an owner) told me a few years ago that the recipe takes eight hours to create. Eight hours of simmering, healthy goodness... I've only ever bought the chicken teriyaki with sauce on the side (SOS) or the chicken teriyaki bento box with SOS. The both portions are plenty for two hungry appetites or good to make two to three meals out of... talk about cheap!! All in all, you should check this place out if you haven't already and support the little Ma & Pops shops. Definitely a hole in the wall, but they pump out great food that's consistent. read more

I love, love, love this place. The owners are Korean and they love to chit chat while your order is being made. They are the sweetest couple, ever! I normally order the teriyaki chicken and rice with a side of the cream cheese ragoons. Yum! It never takes more than 10-15 minutes and if you happen to be in store while waiting, they have a small dining area. The TV is normally on either a sports channel or the news. Some of the reviews are spot on about the dishes not being cleared from the tables. But there are only 2 people working here and they are not only the owners but they are also responsible for doing everything else - placing order, cleaning tables, charging cards, cooking, washing dishes, etc. Give them some credit!! This place isn't bad, but I wouldn't say it's anywhere near as good as Wok V Teriyaki right across the street. My "mongolian beef" was almost identical to teriyaki beef - no peppers or green onions. I'm sure that they likely make some decent stuff, but they failed my mongolian beef test. read more

First time leaving a review, but we have been regulars here for the past two years. The chicken teriyaki is fantastic, not too sweet, plenty of sauce and great portions. Our standby orders are the chicken teriyaki with double rice/no salad, chicken teriyaki/sweet and sour combo and the chicken fried rice. The portion are generous and the food is delicious. Just tonight my wife tried the egg flower soup, which has become her new favorite. The owners are a sweet older couple that have been there every time we've gone in. Last time I went in to pick up to-go during the corona-quarantine, they mentioned that they thanked me for coming in and mentioned that they have been worrying about overhead costs.
