Oooh sooo good. Now while I have only been to 3 pizza places (my belly can't hold any more pizza) in the city.... This was delicious. Great service and great folks! Even the customers were so friendly! So you can tell just good people come in and treat each other well. I love that more than anything. Just seeing humans be GOOD TO EACH OTHER. I am sure it made the good food taste even better!! read more

The meat & more meat deep dish was very cheesy and flavorful. The crust was quite balanced with the sauce. There was no wait for a table for 4 on a Saturday afternoon. However, the pizza did take about 45 minutes to cook, which our server did warn us about. This is a great place for a fun casual lunch or dinner! read more

Very busy for a Wednesday lunch and I can see why! The service was fantastic. The food was even better. The portion sizes were very large. We shared a pizza and the sampler the sampler was fun because you got the sample all of the appetizers hence the name. The mozzarella triangles were my personal favorite dipped in the marinara or ranch delicious. We got the Parmesan crust pizza. It was thinner, crispy, and delicious! read more

I'm sorry, I've heard sooo much about Chicago pizza & if this is the best they have to offer then yuck . I asked a few Chicagoans, & they suggested this pizza restaurant. I liked a lot about Chicago but not their pizza . The dessert was yuck as well. Who makes a cannoli & crumble the pastry. It wasn't even soft & warm like the real Italians make it. Nasty! Yall, need to come to NYC & learn how to make pizza & Cannolis. I'm just saying. Now the Chicago double cheeseburgers @ Sweet Waters & Pendry Hotel is to die for & more moist & juicy than NYC burgers hands down. I hadn't had a juicy burger in a while & Chicago wins that but not the pizza. Ijs I don't think I'll return here on my next visit to Chicago. It was a waste of money but to each's own. Lol read more

We had a party of 9 and got there about 4:30 and they seated us right away Ryan was our server and he was super busy but took good care of us! Took our drink order then came back to get our pizza order in. After he brought the drinks we ordered everything else and it was all delicious! It was crowded and there was quite a few people waiting when we left, but the overall experience was great! read more

We visited Giordano's on a Saturday, when there was a Jazz Festival going on nearby in Millenium Park. We were quoted with a 45 minute wait to be seated, and advised to order our pizza ahead of time. Waiting for the initial check in took 15 minutes and another 15 minutes to order our pizza. We received a text that our table was ready, after about 35 minutes. Once seated, we ordered the appetizer sampler platter and a Caesar salad. When we were done with our appetizers, the pizza came out. Our server was very attentive with drinks. The restaurant was very busy, but efficient. We would visit this location again! read more

Walked in on a Thursday after lunch and was immediately seated. Our drinks and apps came out quick and our pie came out within the time frame the waitress said it would. The Greek salad was good! Is it touristy? Probably, but you know what. The pizza was DELICIOUS! There was a long line, but we stayed and it was worth it. Very fast paced action with lots of people talking loud, but it was all an experience. Everyone seemed happy and pizzas were flying out the door and onto the tables. I wish I could have the classic Chicago pizza everyday. The crust was unreal. I will return to the city, just for this pizze. read more

Giordano's in Roger's Park rocks! compared to this location. Unfortunately my hungry guests grabbed a couple pieces before I saw this mess! read more

My first time in Chicago and had to try Giordano's. There is a wait time to be seated but thankfully we came after lunch prime time and were seated immediately. It takes around 45mins to bake this pizza so time yourself accordingly! Our server was really nice and they even were patient with our questions on the origins of the restaurant. We were a part of 5, we got the mixed appetizer platter to share while we waited for our pizza. We got a large deep dish pizza, half pepperoni and half veggie. After approximately an hour of wait time, the pizza arrived. Holy moly the cheese pulls. Definitely get them to serve the first few slices because getting it is an art in itself. We definitely over ordered, it's hard to eat more than one slice of this beast. It was more like a cheesy pie with toppings in between. Great for once in a while! read more

Ok, I'm from the Boston area and the extent of my Chicago style pizza experiences until today was Unos. The comparison of that pizza to the local Boston pizza was not a challenge, Boston was always my first choice. So today my friends decided to take me out for "REAL" Chicago deep dish and what a difference. This by far is one of the best pies I've had. Full of flavor, ingredients and the perfect crust. Highly recommended this place to anyone looking to experience a real deep dish pizza. Though I still favor my hometown favorites, this is now my 2nd home for great pizza. read more

We arrived right when they opened and the line was already out the door. We had high hopes for this place and their famous deep dish pizza. Within 15 minutes of opening, the place was packed! What a disappointment! Their pizza was not worth the hype. It was all cheese, and the sauce was bland. The pizza as a whole lacked flavor. I do not recommend this place. This place was PACKED and Orlando and the staff did such an amazing job organizing the entire rush accurately. Me and my friend visited today from south Texas where this doesn't exist . And each staff member we came into contact with was amazing . Orlando was forsure the highlight . Had a small hiccup with the pizza and had to wait an additional 45 minutes but it was early and we had nowhere to go and nothing to do so it wasn't a problem at all ! Went to Lollapalooza and heard we need to try the pizza here in Chicago. So placed an order inside lolla for pickup. They do take awhile to make the pizzas unless it was the grab and go ones. But it is a good thing as they make them fresh. They were also very busy as many people went here after lolla as well. Staff was very attentive and always checking on customers walking in. We had had placed our order 1 hour ago and estimated time ready was 60-75 min. We got there had to wait 10 minutes as they were very busy. The interior had a lot of seating and very spacious. Stopped here for dinner with a friend on a Wednesday night. The place was crowded but we luckily didn't have a wait. We shared a personal size of deep dish pizza and a personal size salad: - Chopped salad (w/o bacon) - this was decent, but I would've liked a bit more flavor in the dressing. - Individual deep dish pizza with jalapenos, mushrooms, and banana peppers - didn't like this at all. The plus is that it was loaded with more than enough toppings, which was nice. Unfortunately the crust was slightly burnt and rock hard, which meant we had to eat the soggy interior of the pizza but leave the crust. I wonder if this issue wouldn't have happened if we went with a bigger size. Also the bit of the crust I was able to eat had no flavor - this was my first time trying Chicago deep dish so maybe that's expected, but it was disappointing for me. Service was great, and we really enjoyed the low lighting and overall chill vibes of the restaurant. It made the 30 minute wait for our pizza go by very quickly. read more

We were sat down and the place was very busy, but we were sat immediately when we got to the host stand. It took 15 minutes for a server to recognize us being there so we went ahead and ordered our food and two waters. I received my salad from a food runner before we got our waters yet (which were later delivered by our server). It took upwards of an hour from ordering to receive our deep dish pizza (which I understand takes a long time to bake). We had a scheduled boat tour an hour and a half after we were sat so we thought it would be no big deal. It got to a point where we pre-paid so that we did not need to wait for the check (we informed the waiter that we were in a rush, but understand this doesn't mean we should get food faster COOKED). But, the waiter never gained a sense of urgency at all and we had to ask for our pizza to-go. Upon asking this, a food runner brought out of pizza immediately boxed up after the waiter said he would grab it for us, meaning the pizza was ready but the waiter was not worried about getting it to us and it had been sitting (even when we mentioned we were in a time crunch). To give some kudos (and stars) the pizza was really good in taste read more

Service was horrible I get better service getting pizza from 711, it took the waiter almost 20 minutes to come ask us what we wanted to drink and then it took him 15 plus minutes to bring us the drinks. He never came back after he brought us the drinks, when some one else brought us the pizza after over an hour after we ordered it, the pizza was a bit cold specially the pepperoni it was cold like it just came out the fridge. Would definitely not recommend this location. read more

Thoroughly enjoyed our experience. We stopped during the holidays while we were downtown. Wanted somewhere close enough to walk to the museum we visited. Close to Millennium Park. Really cool ambiance. Had some TVs so like a sports bar as well. Food was amazing. We had the combo appetizer dish and got to experience all the good stuff. The bruschetta was spot on! The only negative is the photo taking by the staff. It's a great gimmick for tourists but felt very used car salesman with the "catch"! read more

TAKE-OUT! Giordano'a Lake Buena Vista location. We were so excited to finally try Giordano's after hearing so many great things. We waited all day to splurge on this supposedly world-famous pizza -- our resort even recommended it! We ordered take-out In the resturant, and waited about 25 minutes. When we got back and opened the box, what a huge disappointment. The pizza was burned, overcooked, and the crust tasted like cardboard. Absolutely terrible. We were starving and didn't want to drive back and wait another 25 minutes for a replacement, so we tried to eat it -- but it was just awful. The only good part of our meal was my homemade Caesar salad! We even left a tip, expecting a great meal. Sadly, this was not worth it at all. The last time we have been to Giordano's and I do not recall how mad it is as we tried to get a table. It's chaotic as there's tons of ppl when you arrive inside and outside and you really do not know where to go to get a table. Literally just asking each other since it's just 2 ppl at the counter looking exhausted dealing with tons of ppl. The counter has 2 ppl standing but both do not check you in. They can do a better job when signage as everyone enters or rope off better. Tip: -If you're trying to get a table, go to the left side of the counter and she will get you on a waitlist. It's about a 20mins wait. Then you go to the right side and get in line to order your pizza only as it'll take 45mins for your pie. Then chill out and wait for your name to be called or get a text that your table is ready. -If you just want to order to go, go behind the check in counter, that's where you order and pick up your to go order Got our text the table is ready and walked upstairs to check in with a person on an iPad to cross us off while another person is walking us to our table. Very large restaurant and can accommodate small to large groups. When you're seated, get your recipe for your pizza order out and give it to the waiter. That's how they will know where to bring out your pizza when ready. Ordered a Caesar to share plus a tall glass of beer. Those came out fairly quickly. The pizza does take a bit more time. Wait staff are friendly and accommodating. Everything is fresh and very good. Definitely a must stop when in Chicago. 3 stars cuz of the unorganized process upon arrival. read more

My experience at Gordano's was good. Coming to Chicago, something on my bucket list was to try deep-dish pizza, and Gordano's did not miss. Despite the 50-minute wait for the pizza to arrive after ordering, it was worth it. Our server was also great as he gave us a rundown of the menu as well as what the best items to get were. The only negative I had was how loud it was. My girlfriend was sitting across from me, and we could barely have a conversation. read more

I've been to Chicago a handful of times but never tried the deep dish - we got lots of recommendations to go to Giordano's so we tried the calamari and Caesar salad for apps and of course a deep dish pizza. One half pepperoni and mushroom and the other half a meat combo. The apps were good! We liked that they had the legs in the calamari. The pizza wasn't our style - it was filling and had tons of ingredients but the crust is only there to hold everything in, it didn't taste great. We could never find our server either, it was a little busy in a weekday night and she was running everywhere saying she'll be right back so it was hard to get refills or help with anything. read more

After a busy weekend in Chicago, we didn't want to go out for dinner, so we ordered delivery of a Chicago Classic Deep dish pizza. It was my first experience of a Chicago style deep dish pizza and I enjoyed it more than I expected. It takes at least 45 minutes to fix this pizza, so adding delivery time meant we waited for around an hour for our order to even arrive at the hotel. I was quite impressed that the pizza was still hot even after getting it upstairs from the hotel lobby! Having the sauce on top of a pizza hasn't looked appetizing to me in the past, but this one tasted really good and the pizza is very filling. We filled out our order with a diet soda, a bottled water, and some Parmesan cheese to sprinkle on top of the pizza. Next time we'll have to try a different pizza! read more

There's about 8 of us. We start with the sampler appetizer $20 The meat and more deep dish 14" $53, the authentic deep dish 14" $45. I just say that these Chicago Deep Dish Pizzas stood up to the hype. They're full of flavor and spices. No additional ingredients needed. I was full off of 1 slice. I took the other slice to go. There's great music playing in the background. Just loud enough that you can carry on a conversation. Giordano's got even buskers as the night went on. Keep in mind that it takes 45 minutes to get your awesome oooey gooey pizza. It is worth the wait. read more

Call me a tourist, but Giodarno's served up the deep dish I loved most during my visit to Chicago--especially after trying Lou Malnati's. We went all in and customized our pizza with sausage, banana peppers, and onions, and it was the perfect choice. The tomato sauce was delightfully saucy, with a fresh, tangy flavor that really stood out. The layer of cheese at the bottom struck the ideal balance--not too thick or heavy, letting the other ingredients shine while still being satisfyingly cheesy. There was also an impressive cheese pull that's great for photos! Every bite was a rich, savory experience without feeling overwhelming, which can sometimes happen with deep dish. I'd absolutely come back to Giodarno's on my next trip as it's exactly what I hoped Chicago-style pizza would be. Service was good and the restaurant was bustling with customers even on a Wednesday lunch. The pizza took around 30 minutes to come out. A good experience overall! read more

they do not do single slices, all pizza you just order to be made. the smallest pie size is an individual which is 6". deep dish takes 45 minutes minimum to make and thing crust takes about 35 minutes minimum.

It's not uncooked, it is just the style of pizza. Normally, pizza has the sauce and then the cheese on top. With deep dish they put the cheese with the toppings and then they top it off with the pizza sauce.

Beyond the exceptional pizzas, the pizzeria's ambiance was warm and cozy, creating a perfect setting for a gathering with friends or a casual family dinner. Our server was amazing and the rest of the staff were also friendly and attentive, ensuring that our dining experience was not just delicious, but also enjoyable on every level. They even had a photographer visiting each table to take photos and offer a free postcard sized photo for guests... but we actually ended up purchasing a much larger and nicer photo for a reasonable charge of $15, which was worth it. It also came with a nice cardboard frame which made it a nice souvenir to take back home. We left the pizzeria with full bellies and satisfied smiles on our faces, knowing that we had discovered a gem in the heart of Chicago's culinary scene. I am writing to express my disappointment with the service we received during our visit last night at 130 E Randolph St, Chicago, IL 60601, United States. Our server, Juan (Employee number: 1628), did not provide the level of service we expected from your restaurant. From the beginning, the experience was lacking. Juan did not start us off with water, which is a basic courtesy. When we requested water later, he informed us that their machines were already closed down, even though it was still 11:25 PM and the location does not close until 12 AM. We also informed him that another party would be joining us later, but he curtly told us that they couldn't come because the restaurant closed at 12 AM. This set an uncomfortable tone for the evening. Throughout our dinner, Juan did not check on us to see if we needed anything or how we were doing. His tone of voice was unpleasant, and he had an attitude that made the experience quite uncomfortable. To make matters worse, 30 minutes into our dinner, he brought us the bill without us requesting it. This felt rushed and inconsiderate, especially since we had mentioned that we were expecting more guests. Additionally, Juan noticed that our drinks were empty but did not offer any refills. This lack of attention to our needs was very disappointing. I had brought family from out of the country for a nice late dinner, and we did not receive the level of service your restaurant is known for. It was quite embarrassing to be the host and receive such poor service, especially with family who had just arrived. I never expected this low level of service from a place that's well known in Chicago. This was absolutely the worst service I've ever had in my life and I wish I wasn't joking. I recently visited Giordano's again after having a wonderful experience there last year, and once again I was reminded why great customer service makes all the difference. Because I am allergic to basil and rosemary, I cannot eat the traditional red sauce used on most pizzas. Last year, managerAlan Garcia and our server Tyler went above and beyond by creating a special Chicago-style deep-dish pizza for me using Alfredo sauce instead. It was absolutely delicious. This year, I returned and spoke with Manager Gerardo, who continued that same level of outstanding hospitality. He kindly accommodated my request and prepared my custom deep-dish pizza with Alfredo sauce, bacon, ham, and pepperoni. It was every bit as amazing as I remembered. I would also like to recognize our server, Brad, whose service was friendly, attentive, and professional. What impressed me most is that the team never treated my allergy as an inconvenience. Instead, they found a creative solution that allowed me to enjoy Giordano's signature Chicago-style pizza safely and deliciously. I would love to offer a suggestion: consider adding an Alfredo-based deep-dish option to the menu. It could be a fantastic choice not only for guests with allergies to ingredients commonly found in red sauce, but also for anyone looking for a unique and flavorful twist on Chicago-style pizza. And, just for fun, if Giordano's ever decides to make it an official menu item, perhaps you could call it "The Anays"! After all, this delicious combination was created especially for me, and I would be honored to know that other guests could enjoy it too. I recently had the pleasure of dining at Giordano's pizza restaurant for the first time, and it was an unforgettable experience from start to finish. We decided to order the Giordano's Famous Deep Dish, and let me tell you, it did not disappoint. The crust was perfectly flaky and golden brown, while the generous layers of cheese, sauce, and toppings melded together in a delicious symphony of flavors. We also indulged in the Fresh Spinach small size pizza, which was a delightful combination of fresh spinach and gooey cheese, perfectly portioned to serve 2 to 3 people. Negative 5-Stars Do NOT attempt to EAT at 130 E. Lake St. location across from the Harris Theater...They do Not want your business. On Friday, December 27, 2013 we tried to eat dinner prior to attending "Mary Wilson and The Four Tops" at The Harris Theater. After noting two empty tables in the bar area for 20 minutes. We were told we couldn't seat and to go check-in in the other room. We walked into the other room to find it packed full of people and the side hallway also crowded. Everyone was waiting around; please also note that many of these people were young and black. We asked about seating and we were told we would have to wait another half an hour "we are full; there are no seats." I decided that I desperately had to use the restroom. I walked through the side hallway through a huge room made up of three sections and observed a few occupied tables. When I returned to the room I noted its emptiness. Why were they making people wait? I asked to speak with a manager and was told once again, "we are full; there are no seats.""You can wait." He rudely brushed me off when I suggested they could seat people in the empty seats in the big empty room. Well, if you don't want my business I will go elsewhere, I thought, as we walked back through the bar area, past the same two empty tables and on out the door. For my toppings, I opted for a medley of savory and vibrant ingredients: seasoned ground beef, hearty 100% beef meatballs, crisp green bell peppers, earthy mushrooms, and a touch of smoky barbecue chicken. The symphony of flavors was truly impressive. Each meat topping boasted a distinct savoriness, while the vegetables provided a welcome textural contrast. Unlike some deep dish offerings, the sauce wasn't overpowering, allowing the other elements to shine. While a small pizza is advertised as containing 6 slices, its richness proved formidable.
