Our group spent quite a bit of time debating what pizza to get, but we decided to opt for the Chicago classic. My very sweet and wonderful friends picked up the pizza so that we could enjoy it at our hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect, but after having it, I would describe it as a pizza pie. I loved the cheesiness and savoury flavours of the sauce and toppings. However, I found the crust a lot to digest and ended up cutting the ends off. The system at this location needs work. We got in line and ordered. They told us by the time we got to our table, our pizza would be ready. After about a 45 minute wait, we made it to our table, but the pizza promise fell flat. We had to wait again for our pizza, which wasn't quite hot when we got it. We ordered the pepperoni. We stopped by Giordano's for the first time after a boat tour at Navy Pier. We were told a 45 minute wait, put our name on the waitlist, and placed the order. After about 30 minutes, we got our name called and were seated. We did not get our pizza until two hours after we ordered! Waitress assured us it would be around a 30 min wait. Get the deep dish! A medium deep dish and a side of fries was easily enough to feed our four person group. Ava took absolutely outstanding care of us for our first time in Chicago. She even served our slices to us. It did take just under 60 minutes to get the pizza (as expected) but it was worth the wait. Deep dish requires time, patience, and attention to detail. In the meantime, ambiance was loud and noisy, everyone just having a good time. We were starving and on a time crunch, so we ordered a 6-inch personal deep dish(B.Y.O) from Giordano's at Navy Pier. For toppings we went with pesto chicken, black olives, and toasted garlic. It was absolutely worth the hype, cheesy, flavorful, and super satisfying. Here's the thing: this spot is undeniably a Chicago deep-dish staple, but the Navy Pier location just doesn't deliver the same experience. It's incredibly touristy, which means long waits all around. I waited about 30-40 minutes for a table, and even after grabbing a seat at the bar, the deep-dish took just as long to come out. The pizza itself was good, but not as flavorful as what I've had from this brand at other locations. If you want the "I ate deep dish at Navy Pier" experience, this will check the box. Another restaurant located in the Navy Pier and was always busy during my stay in Chicago. I decided to order online and pick up. It takes 45min-1hr for a small pizza, same time as the deep dish pizza. I ordered a small special with sausage and hot wings for a price of $51.07. Was it worth price? Of course note, but it was the most convenient location for me and well the other pizza places were around the same price. I picked Giordano's because I was familiar with their pizza, but wanted to try thin crust. I must say, the pizza was a pretty good and I prefer their thin crust over their deep dish. As for the wings, they weren't too bad. I would order again, but I would stick with thin crust. Since I picked up, I was able to avoid delivery fees. I don't think this location offers delivery, I don't remember seeing that option on the website when I ordered. It's busy. There were two lines - one for getting on the waitlist and one for pre-ordering your meal. The non-English patrons in line had a hard time understanding the procedure. But the staff seemed to have it under control. And since one of our missions in our 36-hour Chicago extravaganza was to find deep dish Chicago pizza, we settled in and waited.
