Our group spent quite a bit of time debating what pizza to get, but we decided to opt for the Chicago classic. My very sweet and wonderful friends picked up the pizza so that we could enjoy it at our hotel. I wasn't sure what to expect, but after having it, I would describe it as a pizza pie. I loved the cheesiness and savoury flavours of the sauce and toppings. However, I found the crust a lot to digest and ended up cutting the ends off. After about a 45 minute wait, we made it to our table, but the pizza promise fell flat. We had to wait again for our pizza, which wasn't quite hot when we got it. We ordered the pepperoni. It's the cheese pull for me! I came here after a big workout at Navy Pier and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. We ordered beers and deep dish pizza and after the hard wok I put in, it was a great reward. The pizza was amazing, so cheesy with amazing toppings. We got the equivalent of what would be a supreme. We were starving and on a time crunch, so we ordered a 6-inch personal deep dish(B.Y.O) from Giordano's at Navy Pier. For toppings we went with pesto chicken, black olives, and toasted garlic. It was absolutely worth the hype, cheesy, flavorful, and super satisfying. They were super busy when we went (a lot of people had reservations or had already put their names down), so even though we got our pizza to go, it still took about an hour and a half. Finally got to try Chicago deep dish pizza! Heard good things about this place after reading lots of reviews online. When you arrive you have to put your name on the waitlist to be seated, then, you go and immediately "pre-order" your pizza so by the time you sit its ready. They informed us pizza takes about 45 minutes to cook, and we had to wait about 25 minutes for a table anyway. We ordered a small cheese deep dish which is for 2 people. We got seated on the outside patio and our server was super friendly. He was a little too too friendly as when I wanted more water he was busy talking to other customers, but that's okay he was nice. Pizza was good, I loved the cheese and sauce. The crust was a little bland as the end but it was a good texture. Here's the thing: this spot is undeniably a Chicago deep-dish staple, but the Navy Pier location just doesn't deliver the same experience. It's incredibly touristy, which means long waits all around. I waited about 30-40 minutes for a table, and even after grabbing a seat at the bar, the deep-dish took just as long to come out. The pizza itself was good, but not as flavorful as what I've had from this brand at other locations. If you want the "I ate deep dish at Navy Pier" experience, this will check the box. The service was really great! My phones battery died when I arrived so I asked if they had a charger and if I could charge my phone while I eat. They happily gave me a charger and opened the bar so I had a place to sit and charge my phone. I got the Chicago Deep Dish pizza, but replaced the normal meat with chicken. They told me the wait would be about 45 minutes and I didn't mind because I needed to charge my phone anyways. It was a nice vibe and it was in navy pier so the view was nice as well. It was between this place and the other one. We were closer to here and despite the horribly unorganized waiting area, we managed to get a table in like 45 minutes. Giordano's has this thing where once you check in you can order your pizza because that could take up to an hour to cook. Overall, the place was super packed, but not so bad once we got our table. Once we got to our table, we ordered an appetizer and drinks. There's a casual ambience throughout the restaurant. There are many families and couples, small groups and large groups. You name it. We got a personal "build your own" deep dish pizza and made it supreme. And we got a margherita pan pizza. Both were great; super filling so expect leftovers unless you're able to split with more than two people. The only thing we wouldn't get again is the garlic bread which was just OK. We placed our order and upon being seated a server called our name and we got up but then they told us that it was a mistake so we sat back down. Not to even mention how absolutely nasty the marinara sauce was. Overall I would never ever waste my money on that appetizer let alone even come here. Another restaurant located in the Navy Pier and was always busy during my stay in Chicago. I decided to order online and pick up. It takes 45min-1hr for a small pizza, same time as the deep dish pizza. I ordered a small special with sausage and hot wings for a price of $51.07. Was it worth price? Of course note, but it was the most convenient location for me and well the other pizza places were around the same price. I picked Giordano's because I was familiar with their pizza, but wanted to try thin crust. I must say, the pizza was a pretty good and I prefer their thin crust over their deep dish. As for the wings, they weren't too bad. I would order again, but I would stick with thin crust. Since I picked up, I was able to avoid delivery fees. I don't think this location offers delivery, I don't remember seeing that option on the website when I ordered. It's busy. There were two lines - one for getting on the waitlist and one for pre-ordering your meal. The non-English patrons in line had a hard time understanding the procedure. But the staff seemed to have it under control. And since one of our missions in our 36-hour Chicago extravaganza was to find deep dish Chicago pizza, we settled in and waited. It was pretty pleasant as we were AT Navy Pier. We wandered through some shops and went to look at the Ferris wheel and the gorgeous city skyline while we waited and we were texted when our table was ready. We ordered appetizers and drinks fairly quickly once seated, but our single pizza did take almost an hour after we sat down. But, not being in a hurry, we enjoyed our app and each other's company. We are not deep dish experts, but for us North Carolineans (two teenage boys especially), we were NOT disappointed. One of my sons can usually clear a medium regular pizza by himself, but the one medium deep dish fed us all with a line slice leftover that just made us tap out. And the pizza was still good... That's why I think it could've been great. The restaurant itself reminds you of an awesome pizza parlor. You can literally see the chefs throwing the dough and making the pizza. I think that's cool. And everybody seemed to be having a pretty good time. The reason for the three stars, and not four, is because our service was not great and we feel we got ripped off on our salad. I believe the servers name was Tony. She was pleasant enough. But would never check on us. We had to flag her down on a couple of occasions. It took a considerably long time to get the check and to be able to leave, as well. Additionally, we ordered the large salad, I think it's the entrée size. When it came to the table, it was very small and we immediately expressed concern. Tony basically blew it off by telling us that's the normal size. So I think we ended up paying like $22 for a very small salad, but to be fair it was tasty.
