Get the deep dish! A medium deep dish and a side of fries was easily enough to feed our four person group. Ava took absolutely outstanding care of us for our first time in Chicago. She even served our slices to us. It did take just under 60 minutes to get the pizza (as expected) but it was worth the wait. This place was nearly empty at 11:00am on a Sunday but then really buzzing an hour later. The restaurant itself is pretty cool and there is outdoor seating as well. If you've never had Chicago deep dish pizza, you gotta try Giordano's!

Manager Orlando and waiter James were extremely hospitable! Chris brought Diego out service dog some water (10) points before the food arrived. We already knew Giordano's Pizza would be great . It was as we had the double pepperoni , Deep dish and about a 35 minute wait for it to cook. The service and friendliness sets this Puzza Gem apart. Thsnk you Guys!!

It's the cheese pull for me! I came here after a big workout at Navy Pier and it was exactly what the doctor ordered. We ordered beers and deep dish pizza and after the hard wok I put in, it was a great reward. The pizza was amazing, so cheesy with amazing toppings. We got the equivalent of what would be a supreme. It was a great way to end the day, and our server was wonderful. Cheers to Chicago style!

This location is at Navy Pier and it's very convenient when you want to sightsee there. There is indoor and outdoor space. I made reservations online so when I arrived I was seated right away. The deep dish pizza is very cheesy and good taste. We also really enjoyed the Greek salad and the Caesar salad. The staff was attentive. We had a good experience!

Chicago Deep-Dish Pizza [Chicago IL] The deep dish pizza is hands down the most famous Chicago food well... in Chicago! so it was at the top of our list of foods to try during this trip being it's our first time in Chi-Town! We dined at Giordano's in Navy Pier. Although outdoor patio seating was available we wanted to dine inside to avoid the heat and humid weather. We were advised by the hostess to preorder our pizza at the counter located behind her and we were to receive a text message when a table was ready. We took this opportunity to look around the shops. It didn't take long until we received a text that a table was available and we were seated immediately but the waiter just put in our order... not sure what the "preorder" was for because it takes 45 mins to bake a deep dish with its thick, buttery crust and layers upon layers of gooey cheese and flavorful toppings. Deep dish requires time, patience, and attention to detail. In the meantime, ambiance was loud and noisy, everyone just having a good time. Anyway, we waited for maybe another 30-mins or more until our 10" pizza was finally served... the Chicago Classic -- Pepperoni and mushrooms (less the green peppers & onions). Oh my! This thing looks more like a pie filled with lots of cheese, sauce, and toppings than a traditional flat pizza. I had a single slice... that was it for me, I even struggled to finish it, I'm full! It was delicious! No wonder it's the #1 famous Chicago food... deep-dish pizza! Check! Review #3816

We were starving and on a time crunch, so we ordered a 6-inch personal deep dish(B.Y.O) from Giordano's at Navy Pier. For toppings we went with pesto chicken, black olives, and toasted garlic. It was absolutely worth the hype, cheesy, flavorful, and super satisfying. They were super busy when we went (a lot of people had reservations or had already put their names down), so even though we got our pizza to go, it still took about an hour and a half. Luckily, we had time to explore the Navy Pier area while waiting. Totally worth it in the end. Would love to go back in for dine in next time!

Had the deep dish Chicago classic, was very good they warn you it takes 45 minutes, but it was worth the wait and gave us time to plow thru the Calamari app we ordered which was wonderful. Servers were nice and would say stop by and check it out if your visiting the Navy Pier.

Server was quick to greet us and fast with the drinks. He had several tables at once but was still very attentive to us. Food came out pretty quickly considering how thick these pizzas are. Tasted fresh/fantastic. We had a nice view out the window from our table. Restrooms and dining area was all very clean. Great visit!

Finally got to try Chicago deep dish pizza! Heard good things about this place after reading lots of reviews online. When you arrive you have to put your name on the waitlist to be seated, then, you go and immediately "pre-order" your pizza so by the time you sit its ready. They informed us pizza takes about 45 minutes to cook, and we had to wait about 25 minutes for a table anyway. We ordered a small cheese deep dish which is for 2 people. We got seated on the outside patio and our server was super friendly. He was a little too too friendly as when I wanted more water he was busy talking to other customers, but that's okay he was nice. Pizza was good, I loved the cheese and sauce. The crust was a little bland as the end but it was a good texture. I grew up going loving deep dish pizza so I was glad I was finally able to try it in Chicago! We went to the location in Navy Pier so it was pretty busy as well.

I was visiting Chicago and as I was exploring Navy pier came across Gerardo the original pair in the tomato bruschetta. The fruit was fresh not too loud and the staff was super friendly. They validate parking.

Restaurant itself is fine. My rating comes from my personal dislike of deep dish pizza. I was visiting Chicago so wanted to try it but it was as bad as I had imagined. May give this place another chance next time for a different pizza. The location near Navy Pier is nice. They have ample seating outside which was welcome on a sunny spring day. Wait time is over an hour at busy times which did not help with the overall experience. Service was minimal at best. Both the server and the host did their least.

The service was really great! My phones battery died when I arrived so I asked if they had a charger and if I could charge my phone while I eat. They happily gave me a charger and opened the bar so I had a place to sit and charge my phone. I got the Chicago Deep Dish pizza, but replaced the normal meat with chicken. They told me the wait would be about 45 minutes and I didn't mind because I needed to charge my phone anyways. It was a nice vibe and it was in navy pier so the view was nice as well. After 45 minutes my phone finally turned on with 5% and exactly as it turned on, the food arrived. It was great, I was super hungry that night as well so this really hit the spot. It was my first time having Chicago deep dish pizza and the way Giordanos makes it is pretty good!

I absolutely love Giordano's pizza. It's the best deep dish I've ever had. I've been to several of their other locations and had a great experience. Not so with the Navy Pier location. When we checked in, we were told it would be a 30-40 minute wait. Fine, no problem. 50 minutes later, we were finally called to be seated. We were seated outside next to the plants. The mosquitoes were HORRIFIC. People at other tables were also complaining about the bugs. Unfortunately there were no tables available inside the restaurant, so we were stuck outside. Our waiter came by and asked if we had pre-ordered our pizza. Uh, what? Apparently you can order your pizza ahead of time at this location so it's ready for you when you're seated. Fantastic, except nobody told us about this, and nor were there any signs offering this. So we placed our order then and spent the next 45 minutes hungrily waiting and swatting mosquitoes. By the time our pizza had arrived, we were incredibly irritated and just wanted to leave. We each ate a slice and got the rest to go. We will never return to this location. Our waiter was perfectly attentive, no issues there, but the extra-long wait, lack of information regarding pre-ordering, and lack of citronella candles (at the very least!) left much to be desired. read more

Long wait, great pizza! It was good that they allowed you to order your pizza while you were waiting for a table. Busy place expect about a 45 minute wait (the time to make the pizza). Nice ambiance a little on the loud side due to poor acoustics. It was a nice day too bad outside seating wasn't open. read more

Edward served me at lunch and even though they made a larger salad size than I ordered, he charged me only for the size I ordered. He was very friendly and served with a smile! Came in for lunch and the service was fast... ok I didn't order the deep dish pizza but had the mozzarella triangles with the signature chicken salad. The dressing was just right, not too anything! Loved it . Would come here again, on my next visit to Chicago. read more

This is my first visit to Chicago and we based on all we had heard/read about the Giordano's deep dish pizza, we decided to make that our first meal in town. It was busy on Friday afternoon around 1:30 pm when we got there. We were told the wait time was 25-30 utes but it took more than 55 minutes before we got the table. Since they let you preorder your items. Our super veggie deep dish pizza arrived quickly after we sat down. Neither my teenage son nor I found it any special to warrant such a hype. For us, the crust was too thick and with the amount of sauce they put, it felt dry. I understand a lot of people love their pizza but just wanted to put this out there from our perspective. The cost was high as well but would not have thought about it if it WOWed us. The service was average. read more

I was in Chicago for a day and a half and decided that I definitely needed to try deep dish pizza. I really liked my experience at this Giordano's. We didn't need to wait long to be seated, but keep in mind that getting your food will take a little while - for us, it took a little over 45 minutes. We ordered a large pizza. I liked it, but I am loyal to NYC pizza :P Service was good, our server David was super friendly, stopping by to make short conversation despite the restaurant being pretty packed (it was July 4th). read more

Short: By far the best pizza I've ever had! I was in Chicago for a short weekend and this restaurant came highly recommended despite the fact that I was not a big fan of deep dish pizza. Giordano's completely changed my mind! My dad and I shared a small Meat & More Meat stuffed pizza and still had leftovers that I got to eat once I went back to school. It was incredibly flavorful, and had the perfect texture. Next time I have the chance I will definately be going back. read more

I was told by a friend, in uncertain terms, to go to Giordano's. I was not disappointed; I now understand the chain's cult following. The Wisconsin mozzarella cheese is, simply, exquisite. So good, in fact, that I ordered frozen Giordano pizzas to be shipped to my house while I was at the restaurant. read more

The pizza is really good, I liked it. If you come here for a pizza specifically this is a good choice. However, the customer service is a totally different story. We came in here and were seated immediately, which is good of course. But, our waitress was either inexperienced or had no customer service skills. Our main waiter sat us, grabbed our orders and never came back. We had to ask multiple other waiters for their assistance, three other waiters to be exact. The wait time for the check was ridiculous. We had to go up to another waiter and ask for the check. But even before that we had asked a waiter for our check and gave us a short "I'll be back". Which is fine, she's not the waiter for our table, but she never came back to check on us. Overall my experience here was not spectacular. Kudos to the waiters and waitresses that helped us during our meal. read more

We came in with a huge group and David was our server. He was so awesome at managing our complicated orders and keeping our drinks filled throughout the meal. When the pizzas arrived, he even offered to take our pics with the cheese oozing as we served the first pieces. He was friendly and welcoming and chatted with us about where we were from and our time in town. Loved David's amazing service! read more

This was my one chance to get deep dish pizza while visiting Chicago. Our server warned us that deep dish takes 45 minutes to cook (in case we had to be somewhere). No problem, we'll wait. I ordered a personal deep dish and my friend a thin crust. After 30 minutes, out came two thin crusts. (Strike 1) Umm...the manager apologized and put in for another deep dish. Mine came out after my friend was finishing her last piece. When I pulled out a slice, it was exactly the same crust as the thin crust, but it just went up the side. (Strike 2) The filling was also as thin as the thin crust. It was no different than a typical pizza other than the sauce was on top. (Strike 3) The server was so embarrassed by his mistake (I'm assuming) that he ignored us for the entire rest of the meal, even as our drinks sat there empty. Thankfully the manager didn't charge me for my pizza. I had two friends recommend this place, but I don't understand why. read more

WORST customer service I've ever had in my life! I have never been ignored as a customer 5 times in a row. The food was not even hot! It's like they had it sitting in the warmer for 45 mins! My wife and I dined-in at this spot and they told us it would be an hour wait. Well guess what? A family came in and sat next to us and ordered 2 deep dish pizzas. YES 2 DEEP DISH PIZZAS! How long did it take to get theirs? No longer than 15 minutes after we got ours. Their pizza was steaming hot and nice looking. Ours? Not a single smoke came out of ours and the crust was all hard. It's like they were feeding us the display. The mozza bites were not even hot either. Oh and I can't forget about the waitress who completely ignored me about 5 times. Even the people around me heard me call for service. I know they did because they were looking at me when I was politely asking for service we needed. All we wanted was a drink refill at the least. I even waive my hand in front of her and she acted like she could not see me. Oh is it because I'm a darker skin color? I don't know. Maybe. Maybe not. Maybe she just hates her job, but that doesn't make it an excuse to ignore her customers. I didn't even bother leaving a tip. I worked in a lot of customer service jobs and customers always come first regards of race, gender, religion, sexual orientation, ideology, whatever it is. Good customer service = tips, bad service = losing new and maybe even old customers + not tip. read more

So we were skeptical of this place, as it is clearly not the original (as most places on the pier). However, we did the maze and the Ferris Wheel and the kids were hungry. We were initially told we had an hour wait, but they let you order your pizza early so it is ready when you sit down. Nevertheless, before we could order a table was available so we sat down. The kids really enjoyed the pasta dishes, which came out quick. We tried the cheese and veggie pizzas, which were both pretty amazing. However, we had a ton of food left over, so this would be a fun place to eat with a large group so you could try the different pizzas. The wines are pretty average, so I would recommend the house wines which are your best value for quality. We will be back and would recommend for a family meal. read more

Good deep dish pizza! We had the special and the chopped salad. Both were very tasty. The wait was kinda long (1.5 hours) but it wasn't that bad since you could order your pizza ahead of time. Our server was great too. Really attentive and fast. Overall I'd recommend this place but just be prepare to wait. read more

Delicious! Was craving Chicago deep dish pizza well before arriving in the IL. Stopped in for lunch at just the perfect time; we had our choice of indoor or outside seating. It was a beautiful Spring day to take in the fresh, crisp air...and then the rain started. The staff was so accommodating. The pizza selection was far from none, and well worth the wait. read more

So, let's just say that my 10year old twins decided that this is the only pizza we will be having for Friday pizza nights...and we live in New Jersey! First time here in Chicago my son recommended this place to eat I alway only get thin crust pizza and I eat one or two slices.. i order a deep dish personal pizza pepperoni ,Canadian bacon and pineapple it was super delicious I eat the whole pizza by myself it was super tasty and delicious. Maybe I had high expectations? I wasn't impressed. The food was ok and the service was mediocre. Employees started to put chairs and tables aside to start sweeping for closing an hour before they closed. I was too worried about the dirt making it's way to my food. The family-style table seating was perfect for sharing a meal and great conversation. We started the night with a glass of wine and the sampler platter, which was a delightful mix of flavors. The broccoli Alfredo fettuccine was creamy and rich, while the chicken nuggets and mozzarella triangles were surprisingly standout items--crispy, flavorful, and paired with excellent dipping sauces like BBQ ranch, buffalo, and marinara. Each bite was a treat. For the main event, we ordered a 10-inch custom deep dish with pepperoni, sausage, onions, and green peppers. I can confidently say it was quite possibly the best thing I've eaten in years. Giordano's - Navy Pier is still the golden standard for me in terms of deep dish and hand tossed, thin crust pizza. I love how they're so generous with the cheese because it's the main ingredient of a pizza. To me, I'm all good with a pizza with just cheese on it. It's even better if it contains several types of cheese. I also love their tomato sauce because it's not too sour and scrumptious. Speaking of scrumptious, it's sort of weird that their dough doesn't make you feel so despite the thickness. It also doesn't taste and feel like a sponge full of oil, unlike the ones served in other pizza places. Apart from their pizzas, I'm also in love with their pasta, especially the Fettuccine Alfredo and their Giordano's sampler. I love the creaminess of the sauce and the right amount of sourness of the tomato sauce. It also goes well with their bread. When we were at our table we were greeted by a lovely waiter named David, who was extremely friendly and took the time to not just make it feel like he was our waiter, but got to also get to know us as well. When we asked about the best things to do in Chicago he recommended lots of things giving explanations for each one which was very nice and helpful. David was very quick to refill our water and ask if everything was alright. As well as the exceptional service from David, the food was delicious. We ordered one small meat pizza between the two of us and that was enough to fill us up. They made sure there was lots of meat, not just a little concentrated in one area, the crust was delicious also, as well as the tomato sauce in the pizza. Overall Giordano's was a very pleasant experience with great customer service and lovely pizza, I would definitely recommend this one to everyone. read more

I placed an order through the phone specifically asked if this was the location for the navy pier one & they had confirmed that it was. Went ahead and placed my order ahead of time because I was staying at the sable hotel & had plans. When I come after waiting for over an hour I get here and they told me that an order was not placed. I showed them the number I called, the time I called and they some how couldn't figure out which location I had called WHEN I LITERALLY SHOWED THEM IT WAS THEIR LOCATION. All I got was a "sorry that happened to you." We asked how many people were taking the orders and they said two. First time in Chicago, first deep dish pizza. What a treat it was! I was served by David, who was just an amazing server! Courteous, friendly and professional. But above all else, against all expectations, he served me in French, after discovering that it was my language of choice! I was amazed by this, and it totally made the experience! Oh, and of course, a few words about the deep dish pizza. If you've never had one of these before, Giordano's is the place to go for your first time. The "toppings" are SO thick (I must've had like 5 layers of pepperoni), and somehow the crust manages to hold it all together. Just plain delicious. Our sever her name was Aoife was excellent. She advised us about the wait and helped us to choose some appetizers. The restaurant was extremely busy & we were given top class customer service. Rude. Walked in was not greeted because private conversations are too important. Grabbed a menu to look it over which is when we finally get noticed. They asked if we wanted another minute and we replied yes. Apparently she didn't hear us and went back to her personal conversation saying "or not" with a snarky attitude. Immediaty left. Deceptive business practices - beware! We were surprised to see a 3% fee added to our check at the end of the meal. I know many restaurants are adding surcharged to their prices due to higher ingredient costs, but this restaurant did not advertise this cost anywhere on their menu, nor on their website. Chicago style pizza say no more. This is where is goes down in the kitchen and they stack the cheese as high as sears tower. I love it!
