The service was horrible. My table was sat at 8:30 and a server did not come to our table until 9:15pm. When we reached out to the nearest employee that we haven't been seen yet they suggested we go to the takeout section to get our food to go so we did. Would not recommend this location. read more

Having been to several Giordano's and always having a wonderful experience before, I was extremely disappointed to have such a horrible experience at this location. The "famous" deep dish pizza was far below the Giordano standard. The crust was not completely baked, the sauce tasted like cheap, canned sauce, and the toppings were sparse. The pepperoni was very thinly sliced and tasted artificial. Needless to say, we were not pleased. The wait was over 50 minutes from order to serving. The waiter who took our order dud nit cgeck in us from the time we initially ordered until he dropped off (literally) the pizza nearly an hour later. While I may eat at other locations in the future, I will not return to the N Rush location and sreingly recommend others reconsider earing here read more

I was told by several people that Giordano's is the place to get deep dish pizza and they were right. It took about 45 minutes for the pizza to bake and it was worth the wait. Order takeout on Thanksgiving night. It was busy and I was surprised they were open. Ordered the Chicago deep dish and some wings. Wait time was about an hour which was fine since our hotel was only half block away. I felt bad for the staff working here. It was packed and crowded but they handle everything ok. I made sure to give them a nice tip and told them we appreciated you guys being open. Once I brought the pizza back to the hotel, we ate the whole pizza. And since we were right in front of it, we decided to stop in and give this Chicago deep dish style pizza a try. The restaurant is huge. There are two levels. We ordered a medium size "Chicago" with added sausage. We were told the wait for pizza is 45 minutes. And we didn't mind. We expected the pizza will be hot and fresh, but it tasted like reheated pizza with uncooked dough. I don't know. It wasn't good too our expectation. I am glad we got to try. Placed an order through Uber Eats at 7:40pm for a pizza. Uber gave me an estimated delivery time between 8:35 8-55. I called the store around 8:40pm to get an update and nobody picked up the phone. I'm amazed at the level of laziness of the people that work there. It is very clear they don't want to pick up the phone to get orders or in this case, provide updates. I could hear them picking up and hanging up right away. Then you'll get stock listening to the recording and then they'll eventually hang up the phone. Is this how you treat your customers ? By the way I tried calling over 10 times and not once they picked up the phone. Never ordering from your store again. You should consider closing down your doors if this is how you treat your customers. read more

I was really hoping to love deep dish pizza - because I love cheese and I LOVE red sauce. Loads and loads of it. So even though so many people hate on deep dish, I was still excited to give it a real chance. We chose Giordano's for dinner that evening. There was a slight wait but not as bad as I expected. We ordered the Giordano's House Salad (because we had eaten so bad all weekend long) and balanced it with some red sangria. Also got some cheesy garlic bread to munch on while waiting for the deep dish pizza. Our server seemed over it. When he brought out the pizza, instead of the big fanfare that other servers did for their table, waiting for the camera to be ready or posing for the photo with the long cheese pull, he quickly sliced and pulled the slice up high and with great reluctance held up the slice after he noticed our frantic scrambling to get a photo. The cheese pull is impressive - and the gold standard for any cheese pull on any cheesy entree. Deep dish pizza in general is just too heavy. The pizza was a bit doughy and while I appreciated all the sauce and cheese and pepperoni, it lacked in texture thanks to the slight sogginess. While deep dish pizza isn't my favorite, I wouldn't mind eating it again at Giordano's once in a blue moon. I have had better in Atlanta (gasp) but I know that Giordano's is a classic in Chicago that I have no choice to respect! read more

My boyfriend and I came to visit Chicago for a few days and several people recommended this place to us. I really wanted to like this place but the service was awful. We went during a time that it was not busy and it took some time for someone to notice us and seat us down at a table. They then ignored us for a while, multiple people came in, got seated and received service before we did. The plates on our table were dirty with dry buffalo sauce on them. We got wings which were 9 wings for $20 and in all honesty they were very mediocre. We then ordered their famous special deep dish pizza and were excited for it but the pizza arrived cold. We were disappointed and asked them if they could warm it up again. We didn't want issues, we just wanted to experience a great pizza with a high reputation. The waitress sent the manager to our table and he asked us what the problem was. When we told him that our pizza was a little cold and asked if they could warm it up again, the manager was snappy and short with us. Didn't even give us a chance to talk. He told us the kitchen was already closed and offered a discount. That's the only reason I'm not giving it a 1 star in all honesty. The bill was still above $80 and they ended up kicking us out at 11pm even though online it said they were open until 12am. Our waitress was cool, but the manager was kind of an ass. So much cheese! This is of course a staple for Chicago so we had to come try it. After hearing multiple friends talk about this place in particular I chose this one over the several options for deep dish in the city. They do have the option to make reservations so I would do that with the capacity limits at the moment. The pizza takes a few mins to cook so order an app and wait for a big pie full of cheese,cheese, and more cheese to hit your table. Overall it was good but for me just a little too cheesy ;). A small size pie will be enough for 2 as well. We couldn't even get pass one slice of the deep dish bc of the cheese and then having cheese sticks for an app. read more

Before I start, I will say that I know Giordano's is a tourist trap, but it's a rite of passage for any visitor to Chicago. We chose Giordano's over Lou Malnati's just because of location and went in with low expectations. As expected the food was heavy and had it been 5 degrees out and not 95 degrees out, it probably would have gone down better, but since we were there during what was the two hottest days of the summer we tried to choose wisely. We ordered a personal deep dish cheese and the spaghetti with meatballs. Shoot me if you disagree with the spaghetti, but we wanted a little variation. Plus, we started with the cheesy bread. All the dishes were pretty bland, but unfortunately that was expected. The meat sauce on the spaghetti lacked flavor and the pasta was undercooked. Even the cheesy bread lacked flavor which really did surprise me. However, comparing to a Pizzeria Uno, it was definitely better. The service was okay, but not overly service friendly meaning they were probably understaffed, so I don't knock the young lady for that . The ambiance was that of a sports bar and not a Chicago institution or perhaps that is the sought after ambiance. Ordered a large order at 6:53 with a wait time of 40 minutes on Uber eats. The diver arrived at 8:06, never got out of his car! Never rang the bell or approached the door. Never reached out to us through the Uber app. He drove away at 8:09, all on our video surveillance. We received a drive by text and picture of our front door at 8:11 after the driver had already departed. We called the restaurant and spoke with Steve Harry who informed us this is Giordanos policy. Came here on a Saturday with no reservation. What a skilled and efficient door staff. We were told it was an hour wait. But they have a system. They take your reservation, and then tell you to get into another line to pre-order your pizza, so when the table is ready, so is your pizzza. (Yes pizzza takes 45 minutes to an hour on a busy night) We decied to wait. To sign in and pre-order pizza took about 5 minutes. To my surprise you do not pre pay. We got an empty seat in their foyer and after another 10 minutes, our table was ready! We were seated and had a great server. Pizza arrived about an hour from ordering time and it was well worth the wait. WAY better than the competitor just 2 blocks away. This pizzza had quality cheese and lots of items. When my family takes trips to Chicago, we always stop and get Chicago deep dish pizza. We have had good history with past Giordano's visits but the dinner we had last night was not a good experience. The wait time was not bad to get seated being a Saturday evening which was about a 20 minute wait. Once seated, the waiter took our order and didn't even ask us for drinks, we had to remind him. We ordered a house salad to share and asked for extra dressing on the side. Never came after asking several times and the salad was not very good. The pizza came out lukewarm. Now if you ask me, if I'm waiting 45-60 minutes for a pizza it better come out piping hot. The waiter was so nonchalant, it did not provide us a good experience. I ordered a thin crust spinach pizza from Giordano's on 63rd and Cicero today after 2 years of not ordering from this Giordano's, which is 3blocks from my home. The previous pizza was burnt. I use to love Giordano's pizza. The pizza I received from Giordano's today, had no flavor, except the spinach tasted like it was soaked in salt.
