I was so excited when they brought the first Giordanos location to Indy and love that they put one downtown. I often order from the 82nd street location. Recently I went to done in at the downtown location and had a great experience. Surprisingly there was no wait (I'm used to it being busy). We were able to get seated right away and ordered our favorite thin crust sausage and pepperoni pizza. Service was great. Always my favorite pizza. Chicago style pizza is the best so I'm glad to be able to have it here in Indy. read more

Omg So Good! We got caught in a crazy rain storm and we got off course to where we were going to dinner. I'm so glad the service and food was amazing. We had Daryl as a server and he was very attentive. We had the garlic cheesy bread and the marinara sauce was amazing. It tasted homemade and fresh. My son loved it and made tons of nom nom noises! I also had the minestrone soup and it was delicious, again it tasted so fresh the veggies and everything was so good. My 1 year old cookie monster loved it as well and he dipped all of my crackers and ate all of them. For our entree, our group shared a Chicago style veggie pizza. It was delicious and it was full of veggies even more than expected it had spinach, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes and broccoli. ***Credit card fraud**** Be careful ordering online When we went to this location or server was great and the staff was friendly. However when we got our pizza (deep dish) it was cold in the middle. Like fridge cold. I though it was strange as I always assumed the pizza was freshly made? Besides that my husband and I had a lovely time and the staff is fantastic... But the reason my husband and I are dissatisfied is because after ordering the pizza online a couple hours later, there was another charge for .27 cents from Giordano's and then several other fraudulent charges! Luckily, Chase blocked those transactions and the only one to go through was the small additional Giordano's charge. Thank you Chase but, we were still without a working debit card for 2 days and we had several automatic bill payments not go through because of this. Oh my! What isn't to love?? This pizza place was a delight from the minute I walked in! The house Cabernet was delish! It was smooth and perfectly heavy and was served at just the right temp! Started off with the calamari which was fantastic! Chunks of veggies and calamari lightly fried, served with fresh lemon wedge and a tasty house made marinara...I could have eaten it all day! I will never as long as I live, eat giordanos and not get the calamari as my app! It was that good! The chopped salad was insane! It may sound like a lot to have chicken in your salad before you order a monster pizza, but the chicken is diced so small you won't even notice the extra protein, it just blends in perfectly. Cold peas that pop in your mouth, not too strong blue cheese, pasta, scallions and a honey mustard vinaigrette with little bits of crisp bacon!?! Oh man, this was no sissy salad! But alas, you come here for CHICAGO PIZZA, BABY!! And it does not disappoint. The sausage is made exclusively for G's by Greco and Sons, if you are a sausage fan you absolutely must have the sausage on your pizza. Those guys know how to make a meat! Cheesy, hot, salty layered high and lying is a thick crust that is surprisingly light and crisp. Ordered a delivery of three personal pizzas. They only deliver inside the highway lines. Originally wanted it to be delivered to a home just two blocks north of the highway lines but they wouldn't do it. Seems odd since 1. It's covid and people shouldn't be eating out as regularly 2. It's famously known pizza and they should want to the business. Regardless the pizzas were fine. Probably better to buy a large size instead of the personal pies. read more

I'd received a response via Yelp from 'Ana P' from Giordano's requesting I send her an email, which I have, twice. I haven't heard a word. I'm not expecting anything, other than providing clarity regarding my feedback..... I've eaten at Giordano's on Belmont in Chicago; great pizza, so-so service. Decided to try carry out to my daughter's house on the near north side in Indy. Good news, the pizza arrived a few minutes early (vs the online time estimate) via bike. I'd rate the pizza OK (thin crust bacon + mushrooms) at best. Adequate cheese, not enough toppings to over impress this customer. Also, the bacon was lower quality (take it from a former meat salesman!), fatty without much lean, leading to a greasy not favorable topside. So, increase the topping quantity AND improve your bacon quality please! read more

My waitress Sarah got one of my six request right. Ordered Pinot Noir received Pino G? Asked for water no ice, got ice water. Ordered thin crust personal pizza got thick crust. Ordered house salad with lemon dressing , got Cesar salad. Although I ordered thin crust sausage pizza ... I did get a little sausage in my thick crust, so she got the sausage correct. Let me start out by saying, Giordanos has the best pizza in America. With that said, the staff here, are horrible. Waiting 45 minute for them to cook the pizza, is expected. What's not expected, nor acceptable, is tolerating the cussing, mad laughter, off-key singing, and school yard behavior of the crew. It was like a madhouse. Imagine for me a greyhound bus, full of misfits that have all been recently fired by Hardee's, so they all went out got neck tattoos, abused some bad chemicals, then showed up for work at this place. Then they cranked the worst music they could find on Earth, and paid more attention to each other's moronic weekend stories than the customers they were hired to serve... That is about what it is like. I've read that they tried to expand once before, maybe in the 70's? No idea why they failed then, but I can ABSOLUTELY guarantee you they will fail again this time with staff selection & training like this. Look for the doors to be closing soon. But the pie? Let me first start by saying I'm a Chicago girl. I grew up near the city and eating Giordanos for dinner was like eating subway. It wasn't anything special, until I moved to Indianapolis and I lost one of my favorite pizza place. So I was beyond excited when I learned they would be opening a Giordanos in Downtown Indianapolis, just minutes from my job. I order a small stuffed cheese pizza and it was delicious. The gooey cheese and the thick crust reminds me of home but in a good way. I love thick crust and this was definitely what I have been missing. I would be lying if I said it was as good as back home, but it's definitely a close second. I had my order delivered to my job and it took about 45 minutes, but considering it was lunch time, I didn't think that was too bad. The delivery person was extremely nice and friendly and my order arrived hot and everything was correct. Would I be ordering from here again, UMM YEAH!!!! Our group of 7 had a 10 minute wait which was not bad. Our server Jayden was very attentive. Their menu had 3 types of pizza. Chicago style, thin crust or extra thin crust. We decided the Chicago was the best choice. 3 of us split a small which is 6 slices and plenty for each. If you are limited on time it takes about 45 minutes for the deep dish! We visited on a Saturday evening. There was no wait time, and we were able to sit outside and watch people and a bike race. Added bonus! Our waiter was great. So she seated them, and came back about 5 minutes later to seat us. WTH? FINALLY seated, and we waited another 6 minutes for our waiter. He told us pizza was taking an hour or so, but we opted to wait anyway. In that time, which ultimately ended up being 1.5 hours, my iced tea was only refilled once, and our waiter was nowhere to be found. Seriously mgmt from previous reviews you need to do something. Food not bad, pizza was good, but would never go back nor suggest anyone go there. Took 2 hours. No one came to explain why our girls did not get there food until someone from the group asked. Then they said 15 more min. They already waited over an hour. Parents got pizza first they all had spaghetti. Girls were so hungry we had to start giving them our food. Not sure what happened, but not run well from top to bottom. Service is terrible and so is the online ordering experience. The online order ticket doesn't even match what gets printed out of the register, so the order is consistently wrong. And then they get mad when you try to get the order corrected. I gave them chance after chance, but I'm done at this point. I even sent an email and left a vm to the manager. Apparently he doesn't care enough to even respond. The ratings reflects this attitude as it slipped an entire point from 4.5 in January 2019 to 3.5 in December 2019. I just moved to the city and was soooo excited to try out Giordano's once I found out that there was one here. The service was a bit slow and our waiter didn't make it back too often for refills on our drinks but the food was as good as everyone said it would be! We started out with the Artichoke Fritters which were tasty and then went half and half on a Deep Dish pizza. The pizza was amazing and I am a huge fan of cheese so I loved the long cheese pulls from each slice. We had some leftovers for the next day and they were still amazing! Not only he did not return back after we requested silvers when took our appetizers out (my oldest have to grab next tables), it took him more than an hour to bring our small thin crust pizza out (he said that the deep dish takes 45 minutes that's why we opted for thin) and that is after I said something when he was passing by. He also forgot the sandwich that is included in the order that obviously was forgotten too. And when we ask for plates, the next table whom my son grabbed the silvers from asked for silvers while he was on the way, he outright said to all of us GIORDANO is running out of clean silvers and plates ! (GIORDANO, shame on a restaurant that runs out of clean silver and plates for your costumers will think now you have NOT SO CLEEAN silvers and plates for you will be rushing to have your LIMITED supplies per this waiter). Why 1 star, the MANAGER that night was a professional to asked me when I looked for him what he can do to make me feel better. I just said the WAITER you assigned in the patio already ruined a supposedly wonderful dinner with my boys and me, and I just don't want anyone else have the same experience later that night. He offered me not to pay the check, and even offered to box the hardly touch pizza. I was so excited to see this restaurant go up across from my building. There is so much I like about this style and design of this place. Honestly I want this to be my new favorite lunch or after work spot. However, the food was okay, the wait between ordering/getting the food/getting the check was well over 1.5 for lunch combos, and everyone's order in my party was messed up. The waiter was so frustrated and blamed the kitchen, said it had been crazy all day back there. The manager ended up taking 50% off our entire bill. Overall, I'm glad that I was surrounded by good company because the dining experience was slightly terrible. I do plan on trying it again someday after the kinks are worked out. Fingers crossed for improvements! 6/17 I tried again and I just can't do it. My coworker's sister used to live in Chicago and now lives in Texas. She's in town for a visit and heard that this place was opening. Of course she wanted it remembering all those good times with Chicago style pizza in Chicago. I tried to be smart and call ahead and order us a pizza. Well apparently you can't call ahead anymore and must walk in and preorder it. Fine it's only a block what the heck. We do it and wait for her mother and sister to meet us downtown. We were told 45 minutes so we all show up 45 minutes later.
