I bookmarked Tapia's Pizzeria on a late evening while headed to work, as I am always looking for good food in areas near my committed places. I wasn't going to share a review of it, but after a third visit within a week I figured why not. I visited with the mindset of looking at their menu then possibly going to Subway if nothing caught my eye which Subway is interlinked with Tapia's. Tapia's has a small dining area seemingly perfect for lunch, despite its array of choices on their menu which would have you considering it as an option for dinner as well. Thinking about it, I say it is the seating that gives it that lunch vibe versus either dinner with family or even a birthday party for someone close. If you have ever been to a Monical's Pizza or Pizza Hut, Tapia's does not have that same vibe. Furthermore, there are restrooms and televisions to keep you comfortable as you wait on your order. Tapia's has a wide range of selections to choose from on its menu outside of pizza options in areas such as appetizers, sandwiches, soups and salads, burgers & wraps, grilled paninis, pastas, and dinner entrees that include fish and barbecue. Out of all featured on their menu I fell into the routine of ordering their slices during each of my visits, which is featured on the board as a daily special that comes with a canned soda with fries for $6.50. Things to consider! Parking is shared with three other businesses: Subway, Dollar General, and La Michoacana Premium, so parking may be an issue at peak times of the day. And if it is, there is neighborhood parking which may be limited at times as well, so keep that in mind if I encouraged you to visit Tapia's. I called the restaurant to dispute a charge in my card, the person who answered was very rude and insistent that it was me! He didn't care that the order was in Illinois and I live in Texas! On the other hand, the delivery person was exceptionally nice in trying to help me. He also complied with my request NOT DELIVERING the pizza. read more

Food tastes incredible. Fresh. Delicious. Staff is always very friendly. The place still has a pretty good seating area but it is connected to Subway. They will make your pizza exactly as you request. Fully recommended. You won't regret coming here. read more

The pizza sits in a glass container in front of the cashier if the pizza is old they still sell it to you....oh yea I guess their mission is to sell pizza...thry will tell you the pizza is cooking but still sell you old pizza in the glass container. I come here only when visiting my parents or people in this neck of the woods. So yesterday dude at the cashier counter I told him I wanted 2 slices ...he takes 2 dirty dishes from the counter with no gloves on , goes to the back brings a clean dish back ....puts his hand's in the glass case with the new pizza and puts in on my plate. I ate the pizza and was ok. But it strikes me that they should rethink the policy of stirring both the new and old pizza in the case and then maybe start rethinking who handles the clean dishes vs who handles the dirty dishes. I've been going to Tapia's Pizzeria since they first opened. I remember it instantly become my and my families favorite pizza. The Hawaiin pizza with chili flakes is the best I've had! The ham comes in chunks and the sauce it's sweet and juicy. I definitely recommend to try the pizza here. My dad also really enjoys their fried fish (tilapia I think) and I enjoy their sandwiches as well. The pasta I had last time was a bit greasy but it was good apart from that :). I got a 10" pizza here hawaiin (of course) which comes with a can of soda. Enjoy!! read more

Updated review food is still amazing but they attempted to fool us into paying more on the Sunday special. We order the same pizza special every Sunday for nearly a year. 14 in 2 topping pizza is advertised at 9.99 on Sunday. I ordered the same every Sunday half cheese half sausage should be 9.99 special. We were charged 18 plus dollars because we failed to say we wanted the special but never had to say that before and regardless if we orsered the special 14in foe 9.99 shouldnt the order taker or register recognize this? We then called back to go over the pricing when we checked the charge on our card. We were told we did not say special so we were charged full price and they could not refund it to the card when said cancel after he refused to adjust rhe charge. He said we had to go in person to collect the refund. I disputed the charge with my bank, never going back there again. We eat here like 2 or 3 times a week they lost loyal customers due to poor customer service, lack of common sense and pure greed. We live less than a block away so mad we cannot visit here again loved their pizza. Shame on you Tapias looks like Nueva Italy will again be our go to for delivery. It's a small joint..we went for dollar shop and felt hungry and don't want to spend so much at odd time so went to Tapia's Pizzeria Ordered own pizza, with own toppings. :D pizza took time but its really very delicious all veggies they used are so fresh.. We have been fans of Tapia's pizza and have ordered from this store many times. Our last pizza arrived with the cheese pushed to the side of the box and had to argue with someone about sending us a new one. Today, we tried to order pizza again and was verbally bullied into downloading their new app. After I downloaded the app it did send me a email 10 minutes later to confirm my order so I can get my food. I called again, I spoke with the same person prior that made me download the app, and ended up being transferred to a man that answered the phone with "ya"! I really wish I could give zero stars but I have to give at least one. I ordered a pizza and they told me it would take only 40 minutes for it to get to my house. It took an hour and 20 minutes for my pizza to be delivered 3 blocks. And when I got it, the pizza was cold as ice. I called asking for a refund from the manager, he offered a fresh pizza and said it would be delivered in only 20 minutes. I refused and he then demands I return the pizza in order to get a refund. After arguing for 10 minutes about the terms for refund and horrible service from the restaurant, this manager resorts to insulting me and calling me "rude" and "uneducated". This was the worst service I have ever had in my life. This manager should be fired for his treatment of customers. read more

Love this place. Everything is amazing! Pizza is really good. Fish is cooked well and delicious. Pasta dishes all good. All round good food.

Overall just a really mediocre experience. $45 for 2 14" specials + one additional topping (that wasn't added). One Caesar salad, One garden salad and two sides of pasta (both penne paste - one vodka and one meat). Pizza was pretty rough...plain, not a lot of taste, didn't follow the requests. pepperoni and green olive. Sausage and mushrooms (the mushrooms were fresh!). Thinnish crust that wanted to be crispy. Nothing was terrible, just nothing was good and for $40 you'd expect to have some standouts. won't be trying again. read more

We have lived in the neighborhood for over 15 years and have never stepped foot in here. We still haven't stepped foot in here but last ordered pasta and calzones through Uber Eats. The pasta was just as good as at a classic Italian restaurant. I was thinking about it all night and had the leftovers for breakfast this morning. Wonderful garlic bread for 1.00! I call ahead of time because it takes about 10 minutes to make. They serve it with a garlic marinara sauce that is made in front of you. I ordered a side of alfrado sauce too for under a buck. It was a good as Leona's "Kick Ass Garlic Bread" for under $3.00. Perfect for a night when you're not in need of a large meal or meat. Tried the thin crust pizza last night after hearing good comments about Tapia's on a West Rogers Park chat site. The pizza was Yum Dinger and the delivery was surprisingly fast considering it was Saturday night. The menu is quite large so I will definitely be trying otherdishes from Tapia's. read more

I drive by this place all the time and decided to stop in today for the $7.00 large thin crust with two topping special on Wednesday's and Sunday's. The sausage and pepperoni pie took about ten minutes to cook so I perused the menu while I waited. It had a lot of tasty dishes I'm excited about trying next time I'm in here. The staff was friendly and I found out they deliver for $3.00. When I got the pizza home I was quite surprised at how flavorful it was. For $7.00 I was expecting a much less quality product. Everyone loved the pizza and we will certainly order from there again. My only complaint is they cut the pizza in squares rather than the traditional pie cut. I absolutely love this place. To be honest, if it weren't for the fact that I go to the Starbucks next door, I would've never stepped foot in this place. They are super friendly, the food is GREAT. I recommend the Rogatoni Basciola. That's whats I ALWAYS get when I go there, rigatoni pasta, spicy Italian sausage, peas and mushrooms all sauteed in a luxurious creamy sauce. Honestly, their pastas are better than some authentic Italian restaurants I've been to. Their grilled chicken sandwich is awesome too. French bread, mayonnaise, tomatoes, grilled onions and grilled chicken, how could something so simple taste so good?? When I say these people are nice, I mean, they're super nice. My friend wasn't feeling well one day and came in and asked them if they had soup. They didn't have any so he just went back to work and told them he'd be back later for lunch, When he was on his lunch break they specially made some soup for him. How sweet is that?? We go there so much now that they basically know us. They actually let us come back there and make our own dessert! When we are conflicted on what we want as appetizers, they always come up with something that combines what each of us want and it always comes out amazing. All in all, this place should really expand and move to a nicer part of town LOL. I think they would do so well. There's a parking lot which always has a spot or two open and the prices are super reasonable for the quality of food you get. sometimes i feel guilty fr how little I pay for the quality of food I get! I have eaten here numerous times as a walk-in customer and never had any problems. Unfortunately two days ago me and my friends ordered some food and it never came. It was supposed to come in 45 minutes and the driver called 55 minutes later and said he was downstairs. I pushed the button and no one came in so I called the driver back and he insisted he was downstairs. I gave him my address again and he said he was down the block and would be there in a minute. 15 minutes later we called the store and whoever answered said the guy was outside to which we replied no he was not because we are waiting for him. I called the driver back and he said he would be here in a couple of minutes and 20 minutes later no one to showed. The person who was paying for the food called back and told them she did not want $60 worth of cold food and they insisted that the driver was coming despite the fact it was an hour and a half later after we ordered the food. What frustrated us the most was that we gave the driver and the person who answered the phone at the restaurant my address over 8 times and repeated it not only in English but in Spanish as well. Needless to say my friend got a refund and had to go to the restaurant to get the money and it took her husband 10 minutes to get there and 10 to get back.
