After a few not so great experiences with ChicagonDeep Dish Pizzas. I was recommended this place. They stood up to all the build up. I tried the thin crust and the deep dish. We went here for my sister in laws 50 birthday tonight and ordered a BBQ chicken bacon pizza. The pizza came out with the waitress and the assistant manager. He said we made a mistake we made your pizza with chicken raw onion bacon and tomato sauce. Here is some bbq sauce in the side. It was so bad and tasted so disgusting that we could not eat the pizza. This is an OK pizza place, and popular with young families. Best feature is it's great location in downtown Naperville. We had a thin sausage and mushroom pizza and chicken oreganato (over fettucine), both ok - not bad, but not exceptional. They have two dining rooms and a bar area, and capacity is not as massive as it might appear from Main Street. There's a lot of traffic and they handle it pretty quickly, as we had about a 20 minute wait. With all the kids, it's not cleanest place, and it kinda felt like an upscale version of the last Chuck N Cheese we were in (and that was a while ago). read more

We have had two recent experiences when we ordered pizza and never received it. The first time, a very confused sounding person took my delivery order. Understanding these things take time, we waited patiently, but called 1.5 hours later to check in. The restaurant had closed! Tonight we were told the wait would be 2-2.25 hours for delivery. After 2.5 hours, we called to follow up and were told the pizza oven was stuck shut. So, ask our waitress (excellent server) to have the "chef" cook the pizza in particular the dough...came back-still RAW DOUGH! I mean it's Giordano's... need I say more? If you're a Chicagoan, you know what I mean jelly bean. Otherwise, Giordano's is a phenomenal pizza place with amazing deep dish pizza. I've reviewed another Giordano's, so I'll focus this on the location and service. The food is pretty much the same at every location. Side note: bruschetta is AMAZING! I got 2 orders of it. For myself. I've been to this location twice, once for a private event and the other for a causal dinner. There's a parking lot across the street but it's for other stores and restaurants as well. There's street parking too. The parking garage is not too far..I'd say average about a 3-minute walk. This place is one floor. It is a family friendly restaurant. The service was nice. When we came for dinner, it was quiet, but then it started to get packed. It was kind of heard to move around because the tables are close together. Other than that, I had a good time. read more

After being turned away from Lou Malnati's down the street due to their unwillingness to seat our family on their patio, we called this Giordano's location asking if they would accommodate us and were told to come in! We walked over to Giordano's, explained we wanted to sit on their patio as we had little kids with us who wanted to enjoy a meal outside. The host had our server put 2 tables together for us right away! Then the server saw we had kids and offered to wipe down an already spotless table! Throughout our dining experience, Giordano's staff went above and beyond expectations with their customer service! We will only dine with them for pizza from now on! Great great great pizza the pizzas you can get to take home are pretty easy to cook just on thawed in the microwave for 10 minutes and then put it in your oven without cutting it at 3:50 for 30 minutes and you're gonna have a perfectly crispy pizza at your house you can go in store them in your freezer for whenever you don't know what to do for dinner. I was assaulted by the manager at Giordano's Pizza in Naperville, IL. I was standing behind the door when the manager closed the door then pushed it open on my 18 week pregnant stomach. I think I'll be ok, but I will never be ordering from Giordano's again! Our service was slow, we spoke to the manager when we proceeded to get attitude from her as well as the server, as we were leaving they were still unapologetic. Normally, I love Giordano's, it's one of my favorite places to eat. I still love Giordano's, but I am not a fan of the layout of this place. I didn't like that the bar was right next to the door, it caused a lot of congestion. I also felt as if the place was a little unorganized, there was a lot of chaos, again probably due to the layout of the place. Now, I would've given this specific Giordano's a 3, just because the food was good, but, I will say that I am giving it a 2 because they didn't have pepperoni..... we went at 7pm. I don't know what type of pizza restaurant runs out of it, but this one did. Huge shame. It really should be the one topping they had the most of. And it would be more understandable if it were to run out much later in the night, but it wasn't that late. We had the rehearsal dinner for our wedding at the downtown Naperville Giordanos. We worked with Moose and Gladys to plan the dinner and they couldn't have been more pleasant to work with. The entire process was very easy! We were able to reserve a semi-private room in the back of the restaurant for our 30 or so guests. We had soft drinks, salads, and pizzas. The food came out exactly when we had requested it to. The salads were cold, the pizzas were hot, and everything was delicious! The employees were even kind enough to box the leftover pizzas into small carry out boxes that would fit into the hotel mini fridges, since most of our guests were at the hotel for the night before the wedding. This was the perfect choice for our many out of town guests who don't often get to enjoy deep dish and we're so glad we went with Giordanos for our rehearsal dinner! read more

When our order first arrived, the driver had brought us the wrong pizza, and didn't really seem to know what to do or how to help, so he simply went back to his car and sat in the driveway. We called the store who said they would resolve the problem and let us know what was going on, but they never ended up calling us back. I've enjoyed Giordano's over the years. Another very good local pizza place. Like most other places, chances are very good you may not need to order anything else. If you do get them, appetizers I would suggest are mozzarella sticks, breaded zucchini, breaded Mushrooms. The garlic & cheesy breads are also very good. Chicken wings & strips are also solid but might be overkill unless you're in a large group. The staff are also very friendly people also. Now if you don't know this, I will tell you now. Expect the wait to be between 30-40 minutes (carry out or dine in; check their Internet site and they make it pretty clear). If you go the route of pasta, I suggest the lasagna (very hearty especially in the fall and winter) or the fettuccini Torino (chicken in extra virgin olive oil & garlic, mixed with our own red and Alfredo sauce; you may also get it with shrimp). All the pasta dishes are fantastic so you can't go wrong in my opinion. As far as sandwiches go, I don't eat them often because I want pizza or pasta when I come here. If you do, go with the meatball or the chicken Parmesan. Now as it relates to salads, go with the antipasto salad (ham, Genoa salami, Provolone cheese, black olives, red onion, pepperocini peppers, cucumbers, & tomatoes) or the Caprese salad (tomatoes, fresh mozzarella cheese and basil dressed with house balsamic vinaigrette- great in the summer). Now lets get the matter at hand, the pizza. If deep dish is too much for you, then the thin crust will work perfectly for you. The crust is very good (generally not to crispy or too gooey). Regardless what direction you decide, the sauce has a very nice flavor and the cheese is topped generous. If my mood possesses me to, I'll get the special (sausage, mushrooms, green peppers & onions) . Not sure why I'm naming the choice of topping but I will: I prefer: Sausage, Mushroom, Green Peppers, Onions, Black Olives, Fresh Garlic. I "get" these: *Spinach, Ground Beef, Fresh Tomatoes, Jalapeno Peppers, Green Olives. I don't mind: Pepperoni, Canadian Bacon I can't have: Anchovies, *Shrimp (allergic) I don't "get" these at all: Pineapple, Broccoli (you like these, I'm not mad at you but I still don't get it). The crust is very very good, excellent texture. Love the thick crust. If you get the large, chances are very good you're taking some home (unless you're with a large group). One thing I can say is that the flavors never over power me but yet still very rich. I have no complaints and can't recall having a bad pizza here. One of several locations in the area. I went to the location in dt naperville last night to pick up my pizza. The one star is for the rude woman in her 50s with short blond hair who I think was a manager. I told her on the phone repeatedly that I wanted the " special" with only half sausage. I know this bc I don't eat sausage. When I got there she rudely interrupted me to tell me she had taken the call herself and no I said no mushroom. I attempted to tell her that wasn't true but she again interrupted me getting louder stating SHE had taken the call herself (as if she was the end all be all in phone orders) and she didn't make a mistake. She wouldnt fix it. My friend insisted we just take it and go. I've loved this place for over 10 years but will not be coming back due to this woman. Giordanos is something of a Chicago legend next to Lou's. But Lou's is much better if you're looking for more authentic Chicago deep dish pizza. The pizza here is definitely good, service is good, and the restaurant is clean, but I don't think it's really anything special. Zero stars. My family HAD a tradition of coming here for birthdays. Each of us USED to enjoy their pizza. Last night was our last trip, no doubt about it. My family of five were the only diners when we came in at 5pm. We ordered two deep dish pizzas, a house salad and sodas. That was $85. Let me repeat..with light tip that was $85! Giordano's idea of an extra large pizza is what the world considers a small. The second problem was our deep dish. Their idea of a deep dish here has flattened out. Add Giordano's to that list of restaurants that have skimmed their meal size down to a fraction of it's former size and jacked up the prices. A few years ago they were still deep dish, now their deep dish looks like a glorified thin. Lastly, when our pizzas were served they came out room temperate. Again, we were the only diners in there at the time, yet they couldn't cook two pizza's properly. I usually eat 3-4 slices, last night I had to force down one, and hated it. I know it's popular to love this place and everyone thinks it's iconic for Chicago. I represent those that think and judge appropriately, and will honestly tell you that this restaurant just lost our business for good. They've skimmed their product, jacked up their prices and lost their understanding of how to cook a pizza. Pathetic. read more

I have been told that Giordano's is a must try place when visiting the Chicago area. I have had other Chicago Style pizza's before so I had a pretty high expectation but at the same time I was excited to try it. Verdict? I thought it was very delicious but not amazing. First of all the pizza is huge. A small size can easily feed 3 people. The toppings were good but the only thing I can complain about is the crust. I have been spoiled by Little Star pizza and Pie pizza crust's up until now and I thought this was going to have the same style crust. Its more bread like and thick. Its in between a soft fluffy crust and a tough crust. It was good but not great. Chicago style pizza is hands-down the greatest type of pizza in the world. It's not even debatable in my opinion. And there are many places to get great deep-dish pizza in the Chicago area. Giordano's is at the top of pack. I went to Giordano's this past week, but I've had it dozens of times in the past. It's reliable and never lets you down. Because each slice is so filling and filled with cheese, you do not need to order a lot. In addition, don't go over-the-top with extra ingredients. Keep it simple. The hype that surrounds this place makes it seem much better than it really is. The stuffed deep dish is ok, but a little disappointing. It seems to be more about quantity than quality. Or maybe I'm completely mistaken and this is supposed to be a cheese eating contest. But what surprised me was the spinach and artichoke dip. I really loved that. The people who are calling this pizza overrated have clearly been drinking some funky Kool-aid. Giordano's is the best deep dish pizza I have ever had, far superior to pretty much all other options. Gino's East is bird food compared to Giordano's, and that's the truth, Ruth. A major feather in the Giordano's cap is that every location seems to be pretty consistent. I've probably had pizza at five different locations over the years, and have never been disappointed. This location in Naperville is no exception, as the atmosphere was good, the waitress was attentive and friendly, and the pizza was just as excellent as always. This time we had the tropic-something-or-whatever pizza, which is Canadian bacon and pineapple-- I'm pretty nuts about pineapple pizza. It is also conveniently located in downtown Naperville, with a free public parking lot right across the street. It's nice not to have to find a parking garage, as all of the previous Giordano's locations I had hit up (aside from the ones in the far out suburbs) seemed to require me to park blocks away, or find public transportation to get there. We used to love this place, but the quality has slipped enough now, that I am now done with it. I have had dozens of stuffed spinach pizzas from this Giordanos over the years. The last one had sauce that was markedly different and was saturated with garlic. I'm not sure what's happened, but for a $30 pizza, you'd better hit the mark.
