I just celebrated my husband's birthday with Giordano's and boy am I glad. First, I arrived early and was greeted warmly by the manager. I was shown the area where my party would be and I got to meet my servers Alex and Laura. My servers were courteous, professional and accommodating! Alex and Laura left no stone unturned. They checked in with me constantly to see how things were going and if my group needed anything. Why is this amazing you ask? Because I had a party of over 60 people. This is usually one of my "go to options" and when disappointed, I usually place a call to the manager for a quick resolution, but my problems seem to be too commonplace. They need to get it together! Replacing the food is merely temporary! Called in my order for a salad, an order of wings, a soda, and a cup of ice, passing on the pizza. The call was ended before I could prepay via my credit card. Then the deliveryman called me for my address because he was unable to read it on the delivery paperwork. Since I did not have cash, I had to call the restaurant with my charge card. I opened my food only to discover the salad was not just room temperature, it was hot as if it had been warmed and the grape tomatoes that had a third sliced off (probably because they were probably bruised), tasted spoiled. My family and I had a delightful Sunday dinner at Giordanos. Not only was the pizza and spaghetti delicious, but our sever was superb. Val C. was so attentive to our table of 5 despite the restaurant being packed with other families enjoying the delectable food. As a former server myself, I know how hard it can be to leave a good impression on a table when you are running around taking care of a bunch of tables at once. Let me tell you, Val made sure all of our cups were always full​ and was quick to accommodate any and all requests we had. I can't say enough how much my family appreciated the extremely amazing service we received by Val and the manager of the restaurant. It was like going to a friend's house to eat. I've been the biggest Giordanos fan going back 40 years but I have to rate this location as being terrible. Service was horrible, our pizza order was screwed up with wrong toppings, some of the calamari was practically raw and they didn't bring my wife's meatball sandwich until 20 after the pizza was brought to the table. So....don't laugh. we went into Giordano's for soup and salad. My wife and I both ordered minestrone soup and salad. I ordered the kale salad special as my wife had the Giordanos House salad. For $30 with tax, we both got fresh full size salads and an excellent home made tasting soup. Honestly, it's way better than Panera or any other larger restaurants in the area. The salads were very fresh and tasty without adding tons of calories. The soup was some of the best minestrone I've had. I can't say for sure, but it was likely scratch made. We came in with the whole family including 2 children. We were given 2 kids menus and the kids were very eagerly awaiting their crayons. Unfortunately, they were out of crayons which typically helped keep kids preoccupied during the 45 minute wait. Also, we wanted to order the Giordanos sampler but do not order pork. We were amazed to find out they can't remove or substitute for the bacon. I have been to a resturaunt that wasn't willing to substitute pork option (or even just not include the bacon). NOTE: This is a copy of the email I sent Giordanos Corporate I recently heard you may be opening 4 more restaurants. If that is true, I suggest fine tuning the ones you already have operating. I dined at your Orland location on Saturday Jan 25th. My receipt is 12:14:16pm Upon entering, my sister and I weren't greeted and instead stood there in front of the manager and waitress whom ignored us for at least 2 minutes as they were looking at the register. No, "Ill be with you in a moment" etc..just SILENCE. Then the waitress asked if we were there for a pickup..I said, no, we wanna be seated. She was friendly. Once seated, we ordered our food. The food, including the appetizer, ALL CAME OUT AT THE SAME TIME..Soup, food and appetizer. I ordered garlic /parm fries...only got the regular. She corrected that. Pieces of my beef were COLD while other pieces were warm. The au jus was hot so I didn't say anything. The beef however had no flavor .I ordered Southside style. I come from Bridgeport...this beef aint it. The beef at your 63rd cicero location is good. The bread didn't taste like it had any garlic on it. My sister said her Chicken sandwich was like a basic .99c breaded one at Wendys We ordered the Calamari & More appetizer... We had 2 types of Calamari...the round and the squiddy kind..BOTH were bland breaded...do you guys believe in oregano? It had the lemon rounds..but NOT ONE GREEN BEAN TO BE FOUND. I called the waitress back and asked what kind of incompetent cook is back there..strike the app from the bill. She apologized and said the manager would be RIGHT OVER. If 10 minutes means "right over" then she was prompt. (The place wasn't busy) She apologized and then tried to blame everything ON THE COMPUTER! lol...but she also had a talk with the cook. I told her a computer has nothing to do with a waitress and cook knowing that appetizers are FIRST...followed by SOUP..THEN the meal. She just looked at me, blinked that blink people do once confronted with FACTS and have nothing logical to say... said once again, "sorry..its our computer system"..
