Can't go to Chicago area and not eat deep dish pizza!! My wife and I walked into this Giordano's restaurant on a Friday night at 7:30pm, fully expecting to wait a while to be seated. No wait, we were seated immediately. The place was busy, too! We ordered bruschetta for an appetizer and a small stuffed pizza with sausage, black olives, green pepper, and tomatoes. The bruschetta came out almost immediately and was very tasty. The pizza took a long time, but the menu warned of a 45 minute wait for the stuffed pizzas. It was well worth the wait as the pizza was excellent!! A small was more than enough for the two of us and we brought half of the pizza back to our hotel. There is another Chicago pizza joint that I believe has better deep dish pizza. Even so, Giordano's was an excellent choice and I'd recommend it to anyone!! read more

Extremely awful customer service. We went in looking for a table for 11 on a Sunday evening roughly 3 weeks ago. We were told they cannot sit us until everyone is physically there which is understandable. I had a few more questions and was waiting in a line like everyone else - when I finally got to the podium, I was told by a rude young lady "step aside, I need to take care of people behind you" without acknowledging us. We asked to speak with the manager - he did not seem to care at all about this unacceptable behavior by one of his employees. Obviously, we took our business to Giordano's in Des Plaines where we had much better service and attitude from employee. My family and I are visiting out of from St. Louis. They told us our pizza was going to take 45 minutes, which is understandable for a deep dish, but is unacceptable when 45 minutes turns into over an hour. In addition to that, we ordered a beer and when we asked to decline our order since we did not receive it they blamed the miscommunication directly on us. Several times our waiter brought us the wrong meal which makes me think they weren't trained very well. Overall, I feel like there is an error when it comes to customer service. Only reason for the 1 star is they wouldn't do less. Service was horrible, calamari tasted like grease. Waited an hour and a half then asked the server how much longer for the pizza . He came back 15 min later after walking past us at least 4 times saying pizza would be out in 3 to 5 min. Told him to box it will take it to go. Asked to see a manager a guy came over said he was the guest manager from Oakbrook. I ordered a pizza for pick up tonight. I was told between 7:15-7:30. When I arrived, there were about 8 people waiting for their pick up. When I finally got upfront to give my name at 7:32, they said my order shows pick up at 7:45 and they're running 20 minutes late! I just walked out. Horrible customer service!!!! I will not be going back to this location. 1. They have everyone's numbers. If they're 30 minutes late, call and give everyone a wads up. Don't make them wait there. 2. Offer us soft drinks or a discount while we wait 3. Don't take orders if you can't fulfill them. UPDATE: I received a call from Mike the assistant GM asking me to call them about my experience. I spoke with Candi, another assistant GM who was very nice. I told her the situation that I had encountered. She told me they were offering beverages and 50% to everyone waiting. I must not have been there long enough to have been offered that. She explained that they had almost 3000 people from the Renaissance Hotel come over and that in they're entire year of business they've never been that busy. I completely understand that in a situation like that, you just can't prepare for it. She was very gracious and offered for my family to come dine there on them which was appreciated although not necessary. I've raised my starts to a 3 and figured I would raise it more being on our experience later this week. I was very pleased with the customer service response. UPDATE: Just finished my dinner at Giordano's and they absolutely made up for the previous bad experience. After we were seated, Candi (the manager) walked over to greet us and brought me a birthday card!! It was a very nice personal touch. My family at mozzarella triangles and calamari which were both great. For our meal we had a stuffed pizza which I have been craving since this weekend. It was everything I was wanting!! I heard about this place and my wife and I decided to give it a go; however, we were not impressed. On a positive note, we got seated right away and had great service. Our waitress gave us a heads up our pizza would take about 45 minutes, which we were ok with since it had many patrons inside. We ordered a thin crust, but if this is Chicago pizza, we were not impressed and a little disappointed. The crust seemed to chewy and a bit over cooked. Honestly we agreed we have had better and even some chain pizzas would rate above Giordano's. Possibly, we would be willing to give it another go, and maybe next time try the deep dish; although we are not big on all the crust. read more

Ok. I have to say that I love this pizza. . I was out Christmas shopping with a few friends at Woodfield mall. I said lets go to get some great deep dish. I will order ahead because the pizza takes an hour to make. To my disappointment they would not let me pre order pizza for sut down service. I said ok and we went to a thin crust pizza nearby.. so as I was driving back to the mall for round 2, I stopped by and there was nobody in the restaurant, except a bunch of kids goofing around working inside... Why would they not allow us to pre-order? guess they didn't think my money was real.. well we still ate good food, there are so many places to choose from around the mall. Staff call-in's are very difficult to plan for and react to. We appreciate the concern shown by the General Manager and staff and the return invite we have been given. My family and I ordered a pizza for delivery and it took two hours and 10 minutes the guy still didn't show up, as we were leaving to go to Lou Malnatis he pulled into our driveway! The Schaumburg location has such poor service I don't think I'll ever order a delivery from there again! Ordered pizza for delivery, paid, hung up and then waited for the delivery. Shortly after that I received a call from Marco who works at Giordano's who stated that he will not deliver to my area (I have had several deliveries in the past from the same location without any issues). He also stated that it must have been an exception in the past and he will still not deliver to me. He cancelled the order and I ended up ordering elsewhere which was much better than Giordano's. We frequent this location at least once a month and have decided we will not go back given the poor service from Marco. I will not go into detail but he was very condescending on the phone and would imagine Giordano's would not appreciate the way he represented the Giordano's brand. read more

We flew into Chicago to reach our connecting flight. After 12 hours of travel and airport fiascos, our flight was canceled and this was recommended to us by many locals on our flight. We got the small deep dish w/ cheese, bell peppers, onions, mushrooms, and sausage. Honestly, this was the best pizza I have ever had and my dad thought so too. The crust and dough was absolutely delicious and my favorite part! (Which is what I want in a deep dish). The manager, bartender, and other staff were really friendly and great because they made our pizza even though we ordered it before closing. Thank you guys for the great service and pizza. We were staying nearby for a conference and a group of us decided to check out Giordano's for dinner. They were able to seat us right away (we were a group of 8 on a Friday night around 8:30pm). The waiter was able to split the bill without any hiccups or complaints. Everyone enjoyed great Chicago pizza as well as salad. The only recommendation I would have for improvement would be to offer any of the specialty pizzas that are thin crust to be ordered as a deep dish (I don't care that the price would be more, but I would've loved the thin crust option with artichoke to be offered as a deep dish - I don't go to Chicago for thin crust). Due to a job transfer, I recently relocated to Chicago from Denver; where it's difficult to get Chicago-style pizza! My first night here, I tried Giordano's but felt the crust was too thick for "thin" crust pizza. I let the Store Manager know, and not only did he give me a refund, but he mailed me a $30 gift card to try them again!! Amazing! So I tried again last night, and this time I ordered the EXTRA thin crust which is what I wanted all along. It was PERFECT!! I also ordered a kid's spaghetti and meatball, which was also excellent. Fresh ingredients, hot, and delicious. Even in these difficult times, I feel like a valued new customer, and I received 5-star service all the way. 11/8/18-I haven't had pizza in an age. I thought I would splurge & order in this afternoon. Since Giordanos is my fav I ordered. I got a delivery guy who was lost, cold nasty pizza. I asked for light garlic and seemed to get extra. I also ordered one dessert for my fam to share which never even came, and I was charged for it. Love this brand but hated the experience I had at this specific location. My breadsticks were cold. I didn't say anything and just ate them anyway. Then my pizza comes out and it's not cold but it's lukewarm at best - this is eating in the restaurant not carry out. I ask them to put it back in the oven for a bit to warm it up. It comes out nearly exactly the same cold temp. The waitress says "we checked the temp and it's as hot as it supposed to be" - seriously? Then make your stupid pizza hotter because it feels like a hot pizza that's been cooled off in a fridge. I'd never go back here. read more

This restaurant was the choice of my son and his wife who had been to other Giordano's, but never this one. We were seated right away but I was dismayed while walking to the table that the floor was so sticky my feet were sticking to it as we walked. The table was also sticky feeling, although it did not look dirty. The waitress took our deep dish pizza order (the receipt was for stuffed, but stuffed is not on the menu), told us it would be 45 minutes, which we expected. We also ordered soups or salads while we waited and soft drinks. The minestrone was okay, the caesar salad looked good, but my Giordano's salad looked fine on the top, but all the underlying lettuce was extremely wilted. When the pizza came, it was just warm, not hot. It was delivered by the manager, I believe, not the waitress. He refilled our sodas with the wrong drink which was some gross flavor that could not be identified (believe maybe Dr. Pepper?) and had to be replaced again by the waitress. While we were eating, we could see the thin crust dough being tossed in the kitchen through the window. They constantly hit the dough against the wall and a shelf in the kitchen. This did not appear to be very sanitary. I have never seen dough tossed in such a manner, it is usually just tossed and spun directly overhead and caught by the cook. There is a sign outside looking to hire waitresses. I believe many of the issues we had at this location was due to a lack of help there. It was not that busy that the pizza should not have been brought out immediately after it came out of the oven so that it would be hot. Other than the temperature of the pizza, the pizza itself was okay and probably would have been excellent, if served hot. read more
