I visited Mugs Pizza and Ribs for a quick lunch on a Friday while at work, arriving around 11:30 AM and placing my order at approximately 11:40. I ordered a chicken parmesan sandwich and potato skins, expecting a typical lunch turnaround time. Unfortunately, my food was not brought out until about 12:25 PM. Due to the delay, I was unable to actually sit and enjoy my meal and had to take most of it to go. I only had time to eat one potato skin, which was noticeably burnt, along with the cheese on top. To be fair, the woman working the bar was polite and did apologize for the wait, which I appreciated. However, there was no communication about the delay beforehand, and the restaurant was not busy--there were roughly 10 people inside at the time. Overall, the extended wait time and lack of communication made this a frustrating experience. I would not recommend this place if you're on a time crunch, especially during a lunch break. I took the food to go but couldn't eat it at work so it's sitting in my car now. read more

The place is pretty popular with day drinkers and sports enthusiasts. I dropped in for a few pizza puffs and drinks. They were way too comfortable ignoring the prices posted on the wall menu and up charging me whatever they pleased. I asked for a receipt & asked why the prices I had to pay were more than the posted prices on the wall menu, the 2 employees both looked at me and said "guess your looking at the wrong menu dude" as if there was a secret menu that everyone knows about that goes along with a secret handshake. Then all the chairs were littered with both employees doing nothing but surfing & empty to go insulated pizza packs so customers waiting for their food had to stand & wait 30 to 60 minutes. The food was "meh" what you would expect from a Wallmart frozen pizza treat thrown in the oven at 450 for 20 minutes. Will not go back. read more

I went here on my work break (traveling to the area for work) and ordered a chicken parm with a salad. It was really really good and hit the spot. Normally I would say it was overpriced but I thought it was worth the price for the quality and amount of food.. and the customer service! Free water and they let me charge my phone. I would 100% go back to mugs if I were in the area again. The ambience is a classic pizza place casual feel with a bathroom that was clean and plenty of napkins and utensils etc, it's a takeout place for sure. I can't speak beyond the pasta dish I has I guess, but for a starving traveler to the area this was BEST case scenario picking a place completely at random and I was so shocked at how great the experience was I came back to leave a review... Not sure why this place has only 2.5 stars, I think it's much better than that. I always get great service. I get chicken tenders a lot, the ribs are good, I sometimes get pizza and it's good too. if they are busy they'll take longer, but that's normal. They will sometimes have the door open if it's nice out to circulate air which makes the lobby area nice to stand in, if you order inside. there's not really room to sit down and eat tho. I think 1 or 2 tables. I think you should give this place a try. read more

just now I'm a foodie so I hate making poor food choices and this evening was incredibly disappointing. I can't understand how people here rated the food here so high; because tonight I received the saltiest stuffed Chicago style pizza I ever had the misfortune of ordering. I'm pretty upset here especially because I had high hopes based on most of these reviews and my spinach pizza is just super salty with way too much cheese, a soggy bottom crust and barely any spinach! I feel cheated because after spending $27 including a top and delivery fee I couldn't even finish one piece because there's no spice or balance of ingredients. The man who took my order didn't offer me any spices like red pepper flakes or utensils; instead he just kept asking me if I wanted to order more food. I spent a grand total of $27 for rootbeer and a super salty deep dish pizza with way too much cheese and very minimal amounts of spinach. When my delivery person arrived I was shocked to find out there were no utencils, no paper plates, no pepper packets and no napkins. I'm actually never going to order from here again because if they knew I was staying at a hotel in Schaumburg then they should have known there are no plates here and no forks. I called him back to give him my feedback and he was absolutely unapologetic for being neglectful. If a guest at a hotel orders pizza or food then it's only polite to include plates, forks and napkins. My dog will most definitely enjoy pizza this week because she doesn't have a fussy palate; she loves everything I offer her. However I'm a foodie; which means food is very important to me and not just the taste but the presentation. If you're a picky eater like me you're going to be disappointed with the lack of flavor here. The portions are astronomical and I ordered a small; but what's sad is the pizza isn't delicious and now have too many leftovers. I hate wasting food so I'll probably buy more spinach at the grocery store and add spices to this lackluster pizza. It's depressing when you really crave a good pizza and you receive just salty cheese without a nice balance of sauce or any other ingredient. I regret my decision to give this place a chance. This is the first time I received a delivery without napkins and plates. Give this place a hard pass and just avoid. Also the pizza was precut. When a pizza arrives already cut them the crust isn't crispy anymore. I suggest management here ask customers if they want utensils and pepper flakes. read more

1 star. So my friends have ordered pizza and burgers from here and said it was pretty good. I decided to give it a try. I ordered a lot for my girlfriend and myself to sample. Their appetizer sampler (chicken wings, chicken tenders, mozzarella sticks), jalapeno poppers, more chicken wings, 1/4lb cheeseburger, & rib dinner. So there is one huge negative that made me give only 1 star. We will get to that in a second. To start most the food was cold. Jalapeno poppers and mozzarella sticks had cooled down so much that the cheese was cold and hard rather than warm and soft. The person who got the burger said it was pretty good and the wings were fine but cold. The one thing that was hot was the rib dinner. Their cooks obviously didn't time out the items to finish cooking near the same time. Now that was ok with me as the ribs were my main course and I was excited to taste them. I eat ribs often; at least twice a month. I've had $10 racks of ribs from places like portillos, as well as $40 competition winning ribs from Q's restaurant in Chicago. Now I didn't expect award winning ribs, just figured something like any normal bbq fast food joint would serve. Well, these are literally the very worst ribs I have tasted in my entire life. No joke I ate one bone worth and then threw the rest in the trash. I dont know if the meat was spoiled or if the sauce was bad, but, the taste was so bad I almost threw up. Maybe their pizzas are ok. I know my pizza. Ordered the bbq chicken pizza and I'm giving it a 2.7/10. It had a weird tangy taste, too much oregano, and the cheese was chewy like gum. I had to pick the pieces of chicken off to get a meal but it still had that weird tang taste. If you like that much cheese props to you but I want to taste good ingredients. Maybe try finding a better bbq sauce, crust was okay, not so much cheese(it was chewy), every bite was a disappointment to the bbq chicken pizza name only upside was the crust. We tried; we tried again. Unfortunately, both of our experiences with Mugs were not enough to entice us into a third try. The first time, we ordered calzones and rib tips and called to pick it up ourselves. They told us a time to come and we still had to wait 30 minutes for our order! The consolation? A free drink and free pizza samples (apparently an ordering error. I should've clued in). Pizza samples tasted good, so the second time we ordered pizza for delivery which arrived within the hour, but was NOT the pizza we ordered, even though our order was on the receipt stapled to the box! We did eventually get our order within less than 15 minutes, but it was only warm by then and the crust wasn't that crispy anymore. Very dissapointing. I do like the that they are they are open til 3 am for pizza delivery in this area. But sadly, a little afraid to try them again. read more

Last time we ordered we went to pick up and it was scheduled for 2 hours later then the time I requested. They did deliver it for free so I thought I would give them another try. Fail! This is my new go to pizza place. In Hanover Park, the pickings are slim when it comes to good pizza places that deliver. This place not only delivers but in my opinion is actually good pizza. Delivery is always like 30-35 mins (which is fast for me) and my pizza is pretty hot, not warm, straight up hot. I get the sausage and pepperoni medium and it has a great balance of ingredients. Ordered a double cheeseburger and fries with potato skins. 30 min after ordering i received calls .... no voicemail. I was at work and couldn't answer. I call them 30 min later and see what was needed, they tell me they have no more burger patties. You don't JUST find out you're out of burger patties. You're a pizza place, I'm sure you either started the night without burgers or you ran out and simply did not 86 them in your system which then allowed for me to place the order online.
