Stopped at Giordano's for their famous stuffed pizza. When we arrived, the greeter was not in the front. Totally understandable considering there is a shortage of employees everywhere. An older gentleman walked passed us a few times but never asked how many we were or attempted to seat us. We later found out he was the GM, Jim. I don't know what his duties are but if the hostess was busy and Jim was just standing/pacing the front of the restaurant, I guess I think he could have at least just asked how many we were just until the hostess got back to her stand. Honestly, it was only approximately 10 minutes and truly wasn't a big deal either. I'm only mentioning this because I'm writing this review. We started with Mozzarella Triangles, the pull of the cheese was perfection. We ordered a small Chicago Classic. The taste was on point. The crust was nice and flaky, so good. The menu price shows this exact pizza costs $22.24. Unfortunately when we got out bill, we were being charged $27.75. I pointed this out to Katelyn who took it over to Jim. Katelyn came back to advise that he took off the jalapeños (that cost $1 to add to our Chicago Classic according to the menu) so that it was no longer a "customize you're own pizza". She gave us the revised bill and now we were being charged $25.55 instead of $22.24. It's truly not about the few dollars but more the dishonesty that gets me. My friend is on a restricted diet and can't have much. She ordered a "salad" with only lettuce, green peppers, and grilled chicken. The waitress, Katelyn, was ringing up our order when Jim saw what she was doing and I guess he explained that they don't customize any of their dishes being that they are a corporate store. Katelyn came over to advise us of what Jim told her. He also suggested we order the chopped salad and minus everything but the green peppers and add grilled chicken (this salad costs $8.95 plus $4.85 for the chicken addition). So I asked if they had a house salad instead and Katelyn agreed that would make more sense (the cost is $5.20 plus the addition of chicken $4.85). Unfortunately they also don't have an Italian dressing or anything similar so my friend asked for oil and vinegar. Katelyn came back to advise that they couldn't give us oil and vinegar because they don't leave these items on the table since COVID. After asking a second time she came back with oil and vinegar bottles telling us they made an exception for us this time. Now the bottles and carrier that was brought out seems like it would be brought out at any Italian food/pizza place. But you be the judge as I've added the picture. Oh by the way, I've included a picture of the salt, pepper, parmigiana cheese, and red pepper flakes that are always left at the table. (So I really don't understand why they couldn't give us oil and vinegar) Anywho, you would think that at some point the GM would have come over to our table just as a courtesy and a little respect towards your patrons that are having an issue. Not once, did he come by. Instead just kept sending Katelyn over to tell us what he said. There's also a $2.70 surcharge added to the bill. Katelyn explained that the surcharge was added after the COVID shutdown because of the shortages of supplies. I think it's funny that prices were increased on the menu. That the price was even more on our bill. And they still charge a surcharge for shortages. But if we aren't getting the item cause there is a shortage, should we paying for it? Hmmm We paid our bill (picture shown) tipped our waitress, she was great by the way, and went on our way. The dining experience from beginning to end was sad to say the least. read more

Ambiance was okay. Overall however, Very dissapointing. I took my dad to get some deep dish pizza and had an abissmal experience. Our pizza was delivered to another table and then took them 2 hours to get us a replacement that was underdone and flavorless. We ordered a cookie skillet that only came after reminding the waitress. I've always loved deep dish pizza and was really looking forward to trying authentic deep dish during my recent trip to Chicago! This Giordano's was very close to our hotel in Schaumburg, so it was an easy decision to hit this place up after checking out. We arrived around 12:15 on a Monday and the place was almost empty. We took our choice of booths and immediately placed our deep dish orders, as we knew they would take a while to come out. My friend and I decided to each order our own small deep dish, even though each is 6 slices and feeds 2-3 people, since I wanted to bring my leftovers back with me to San Francisco and extend my deep dish experience for as log as I could :D I went with the Meat & More Meat pizza ($21), which comes with pepperoni, sausage, salami, and bacon. To our surprise, the pizzas came out fairly quickly, perhaps within 30 minutes of placing the order. I was super excited as our server brought it out. She asked if I wanted her to serve the first piece, but since I wanted to take some pictures, I declined her offer. The pizza itself was amazing. Each slice was nice and thick (it must've been over 1.5 inches!) and was stuffed full of all the ingredients, especially the meat. Each bite was satisfying as I got a good mix of meat, cheese, and the pizza sauce with every mouthful. My friend ordered their tomato soup so he'd have something to whet his appetite on while waiting for his pizza. I tried a couple spoonfuls and it was deliciously creamy without being too tart. I would highly recommend the tomato soup here as well! I could only finish two slices before I was stuffed. Our server expertly helped me package the leftover pieces into a cute Giordano's box which I appreciated. I really don't like to leave negative reviews or low ratings but this Giordano's location deserves it. I ordered take out here months ago and the spaghetti and meatballs were very bland along with the garlic bread; store bought sauce is way better and not watered down. Today ( Sunday afternoon) I decide to give it another try and ate inside. For starters, the service was very slow especially considering there weren't many people inside. The appetizer combo was ok. The pizza was terrible! The pizza sauce is nowhere near as good as the downtown locations (I grew up in Chicago and ate at their other locations) and the garlic was burnt! I ALWAYS order garlic on my pizza and it's usually placed under the cheese which adds flavor to the sauce...unfortunately they decide to put it on top of the cheese and toppings so the garlic was burnt. The crust on the pizza was pretty thick for it being "thin crust". I will NEVER come back to this location, considering that there are quite a few pizza joints around the area which have way better pizza and food. Fool me once shame on you. The famous place to go to for the popular deep dish pizza. I took my cousins who was visited from Overseas. The family wanted to try the deep dish pizza and so without second thought we headed to this location in Schaumburg. It's was pretty late for dinner but we were welcomed very warmly by the hostess and seated promptly. We were a big group. Ordered the bruschetta ,mozzarella triangles and loaded fries for appetizer and the deep dish pizza for the main. We ordered half and half for the pizza with different veggies. The appetizers came out quickly and hot and as we know the deep dish takes anywhere between 45- an hr to get ready and boy it was worth it. It was really good. Driving after a snowstorm in Illinois made me and hubby go nuts. Hubby(bless his heart) needed to stay awake and alert. So for 3 hours we listened to anime themed music. SOMEONE OUT THERE MUST FEEL MY PAIN. Of all genres of music, he wanted to hear "poppin party" allllllllllllllllllllllllllll the way down to Chicago. None the less, we did NOT make it to Chicago to try the deep dish pizza there. We came here instead. I needed a break. WOULDN'T YOU!? Anyway, we pulled up, and they weren't even open for another 5 minutes. I did not care that I wasn't used to the temperature. I was ready to get out of the car. Right at opening time, we were greeted and seated right away. Our hostess let us know that if we would be ordering the deep dish, to let her know right away, as it takes 45 minutes for it to cook. We ordered 2 and a couple of sides. Our meat loving deep dish pizza came out in about the time the hostess/server said. It was crispy and yummy! Hell, it was a poppin party in my mouth. lol! The crust was high, thick and crispy. The toppings and sauce went up to 1.5 inches. It was the best thing to eat after that dreadful long drive. Overall, service was pretty good. The wait for the pizza was expected and the server let us know too. Our hostess was our server and she was friendly and informative. The food was good, the place was comfy and warm. It was a great pit stop on the way to Chicago. If you ever are in a similar situation from above, I suggest making this place a pit stop. I'm extremely dissatisfied with the service I received at this location on 05/05/2021. I wear a mask every time I go to a public place as it is required in Illinois. And I gladly do it. I went to have dinner at this location with my wife and a friend. My friend was already inside the restaurant waiting for us. When we arrived at the parking lot. My mask broke. I walked up to the door of the restaurant and asked an employee is they had a disposable mask for me since mine had just broke. I was literally told" No we don't have any go to the gas station two blocks down the road and buy one. The only reason why I actually did that. Was because my friend was already inside the restaurant waiting. If he was not. I would have taken my business to another restaurant. Every major store and restaurants that I have gone to. Always have disposable masks for guests. Just in case they forget or it breaks prior to entering. There are other restaurants that prepare for these kind of situations. I always get some deep dish when I'm in town and I've always been a Lou Malnati's gal, but only because old habits die hard! For the first time ever I tried Giordano's and it was great. But Giordano's changed my views on deep dish pizza for a lifetime! I came here with some classmate of mines. We shared an salad and a classic deep dish pizza. Oh my oh my! My tastebuds and oral cavity is already secreting just thinking about it! The crust was the perfect ratio to the sauce and toppings. We got thin crust pizza, it felt very undercooked and not what you would expect for $20+ pizza, especially at a pizza famous restaurant. I personally got the deep dish personal size pizza, which was really good, and which is why this was a 2 star review as opposed to a 1 star. Excellent spot for deep dish/stuffed pizza. It's a chain, so it's not the most "homey" taste, but the slices are huge and you'll have plenty leftover for days to come if your eyes are hungrier than your stomach. Their sausage topping is very tasty and is hidden in the layers of cheese and sauce, giving a good balance of taste and texture. Me and my much better half went there early last Sunday to get a pizza in the bar and maybe watch a game. I dropped by wife off to see if a bar booth was available. She asked for a booth in the bar, only to get a lecture on that a booth can seat 6, and we were only two. We went early on a Sunday, and the place only had 5 table seated in the whole place, and sat my wife at a restaurant booth before I came in. Of course when we left, another couple was in the booth he wouldnt let me and my wife have. I understand if we stopped in on a busy night, but early on a Sunday is not such a time. Ordered a salad for two and a small deep dish pie. For starters, the service was abysmal - worst we've experience in a while. Waiter came a total of 4 times the entire meal, never talked to us a single time with the exception of taking our order. E.g. he put down our drinks, we say "thank you" he says nothing and walks off. Pizza's in Chicago seem to take a bit longer than New York style pizzas because of the thicker crust, but still, the waiter could have, oh, I dont know, been transparent about the cook times, or refilled our drinks (he never even came back). So 45 minutes later we get our pie, and the crust was RAW. Normally we'd have sent it back, but waiter disappeared for about another 25 minutes. We ate the cheese and toppings and left the crust behind. For what its worth the toppings tasted fine and the cheese was decent. You'd think the waiter would have been curious as to why we left the crust behind on our plates but never acknowledged us when he bussed the stuff out to bring the check. A real piss poor experience. Lou Manalti's by comparison was top notch. read more

My husband and I were visiting Chicago for the first time and decided to try their Chicago deep dish pizza. To say we were disappointed was an understatement. The service was horrible all tables were dirty and the pizza was trash. The crust tasted like cardboard. We spent almost $60 for something we could've gotten way better at Pizza Hut. If you want to pay $30 for a pizza that tastes like nothing and crust that is flavorless and hard as concrete then yes this is your spot. Also Cesar salad was waaayyy overdressed and has no croutons. Let me start by saying I love Giordano's.... It's my favorite Chicago deep dish. Normally I give 5 stars, but there were a couple things that bothered me. I prefer to eat in the restaurant as I know the pizza is more fresh, but every once in a while I will order for take out. I'm probably 5 minutes away, so it's not too far. When I got home the pizza was still hot and fresh, but the cardboard the pizza was on was all soggy. Every piece I lifted up had pieces of cardboard stuck to it. Not sure if it's cheap cardboard, but I would think they would have known or tested it and used better cardboard. Secondly, I like Giordano's because I've always felt the crust was thinner and there's more cheese. Deep dish shouldn't mean more crust....that would be thick crust pizza. I felt like this had very thick crust and less cheese. Maybe different Giordano's locations make it differently....and I'm not sure if I liked it from this location. read more
